The Chanler is an amazing venue that did not disappoint! We had a small wedding with a ceremony held on the grounds as well as cocktails on the lawn. We moved inside the dining room for dinner and we’re able to have use of both Cara restaurant and the Easton room with beautiful ocean views and spectacular food and service. Working with Caite, the event manager was easy and stress free. They were accommodating and helpful at every request.
The Chanler by far exceeded my expectations for my wedding day. First off the event planner, Katherine, was great at responding to emails and being helpful through the whole process. Like many 2020 brides, we had to postpone from our original June date to August, and once we found a new date, the planning was seamless. Once on property, we were treated incredibly well and the whole hotel cares about the experience of their guests. Katherine also was on top of everything, from checking in with us once we checked into our guest room (Louis XVI) and taking any last notes about set up after dropping some details off for the ceremony/reception. The day of went so smoothly as well. Being in the Louis XVI guest room, you have a wonderful view of the grounds that look over the water so we could get a sneak peek of the set up and then as guests arrived so it was perfect being the bride and knowing when things were about to start. We had a small wedding party in the restaurant and it was just beautiful, from the room to the amazing food. I could not say enough good things and afterwards my family was raving about what a wonderful time they had. Having a small wedding, I wanted to make sure everything was special and personal and the Chanler truly helped that come to life.
We could not have asked for a better experience for our wedding. We stayed in the Louis XVI room the night before and night of the wedding, and my mom and I got ready there. It is beautiful and also has a perfect balcony (if it’s not a hurricane like it was for us). The Chanler driver took us to Kay chapel for our ceremony and the the reception was on the Chanler’s terrace. It was lovely and Haley and Katherine were organized and attentive. Overall it was a lovely time and we are excited to come back to celebrate our anniversary!
True Professionals- really sums it all up. Down to every detail was pure perfection. Haley & Jessica were a dream to work with- patient & professional. Our wedding was an absolute fairy tale and our guests had the best time, we are so thankful we chose the Chanler. We did a full buyout and it was so nice to have all our closest guests and family members on property. We danced the night away and made the best memories.
The Chanler was the venue of my dreams! Jessica (and everyone I came in contact with) was so helpful. One of the gentlemen (I wish that I could remember his name this far out) even pulled us aside to have a moment to appreciate how special the moon was that night. They saved me a few of my flowers from my arrangements which would have been lost to me because I did not think about it myself at the time. It’s the little things. And the big things. My guests raved about my choice of venue for months. It was breathtaking, every part of it was everything that I’d ever imagined!
My husband and I chose a small and intimate (16 person) wedding ceremony at The Chanler and could not have been happier with the level of detail and service that we received. Jessica is truly amazing and was always available before, during, and after the BIG day! The historic setting and whimsical charm that The Chanler provides is truly an experience. I can't thank the staff enough for how incredible they were with our families!
Look no further - selecting the Chanler as our wedding venue was absolutely the best decision we made, and we did a ton of research on venues throughout the Newport area. Jessica and Haley were our on-site Chanler wedding coordinators, and they were both incredibly responsive, professional, and detail oriented during several planning sessions leading up to our big day, truly going above and beyond to accommodate us with the highest level of hospitality and service. Having Haley and Jessica as an important part of our team to take care of ALL the details day-of - big and small - eliminated all stress on our part as the bride and groom, and allowed our day to unfold naturally and authentically. The Chanler's secret sauce is that absolutely every individual working on the property - from valet, to housekeeper, to groundsman, to server - took our wedding day as seriously as if it were their own. Their level of service and commitment to excellence is simply unparalleled. We would absolutely recommend The Chanler & the team -- they are absolutely amazing and we are so grateful!!
I had my wedding at the Chanler this past October. What a nice place, with some of the nicest staff I have ever met! Jessica was absolutely amazing. She is responsive, organized, calm and just so pleasant to deal with. Not gonna lie they are not the cheaper choices, but you truly get what you pay for, which is top-tier. The only two things I would suggest future brides/groom to consider is that 1) the no amplified music after 6pm thing is kind of a bummer, I really wish we had the band playing loud for longer; 2) the terrace is definitely a place for a more intimate wedding, the dance floor is very small (but certainly doable have that nice intimacy). Overall, I m very glad that I decided to go with the Chanler!
I got married mid-August and cannot imagine a wedding venue better than the Chanler! We loved everything about it and my guests all said it was one of the most beautiful and most fun weddings they’ve been to! I looked at many other Newport Venues, venues in Napa and Sonoma, the Hamptons, Venues up and down the East Coast (as well as having attended gorgeous weddings all over the world). I would pick the Chanler all over again. When choosing a venue, as gorgeous as the Chanler was, I had a few reservations b/c I thought it was more frequently used for small day-time weddings and I was going for ~150 - 180, late night dance party sort of wedding. The Chanler was everything I could’ve hoped for, not only was it stunningly beautiful and allowed us to move all over the property (ceremony on the hill facing the tree, cocktail on the lawn, dinner in a tent, dancing on the terrace, late night after party dancing indoors), the flowers and natural beauty hotel itself were gorgeous (saving me a lot in deco), the food was AMAZING as were the drinks (entrees, keyed to specific seats, all the food was hot, delicious late night bites and smores), but it was also a huge dance party on a terrace overlooking the cliffwalk where people had so much fun! So much that they missed the brunch the next day! One thing I loved was that we actually did not have dancing in the tent in the middle of dinner. Instead we moved to the terrace after entrees where I had had a dessert bar which meant EVERYONE danced! There were plenty of seating options and a gorgeous fire pit for cigars and smores for those who didn’t want to dance, but most of the party really went for it. The staff at the venue was also unbelievable. We took over the hotel which is 20 rooms and everyone who stayed there could not stop talking about the impeccable service. They were awesome! Haley and Jess (coordinators) were wonderful throughout and really worked with me to capture what I wanted even when it was outside the norm. The servers were amazing too with the bartenders dancing behind the bar late night, and all of them being beyond polite and attentive. We had our parents and our bridesmaids and groomsmen stay at the Chanler too and it made getting ready in the gorgeous unique rooms so much fun and so efficient! I actually went off property for some photos and that’s my only regret as the Chanler itself has so much to offer. At the last minute we decided to spring for brunch the next day (we had had a large welcome dinner so weren’t sure at first), which I’d recommend. It wasn’t very expensive and they repurposed my flowers and it was stunning! I had high expectations for my wedding and I have attended many and I have to say my expectations were all exceeded, and a large part was due to choosing the Chanler!
Our wedding day was perfect! It was a gorgeous day for a ceremony on the ocean front lawn and a reception on the outdoor terrace. I had so many compliments of just how gorgeous the venue was! It was a small, intimate wedding but it was perfect. We stayed in the hotel for 2 nights and the staff was wonderful. The servers even made sure we (the bride and groom) were attended to by following us around with our drinks and hors d'oeuvres while we were taking our photos with our photographer. The only complaint I have was a little attitude I got from our wedding coordinator every now and then, the fact that the spiced pear wasn't open on Mondays (no breakfast in bed for the Newlyweds after a long day/night), and the fact that our sand ceremony and memory box that was used during our wedding ceremony was almost misplaced. They supposedly put everything in one room after the wedding but when I didn't see those items, I was told they definitely wouldn't have them anywhere else. Then after calling my family and them confirming they didn't have it, I almost had a meltdown because those were items you could not replace! They were one of a kind! So after I called and pleaded for them to check again, they ended up finding them stashed on a shelf underneath their outdoor bar. Wasn't too happy with how they took care of my precious belongings but glad they found it. Other than that, it was perfect!
Our ceremony and wedding reception was at The Chanler. I had my eyes on this place before I was even engaged. To sum it up, it was PERFECT and everything I've always dreamed of. Kate was a pleasure to work with!
I had my destination wedding at The Chanler and it was completely fabulous! The inn is stunning, the grounds are gorgeous, the food at The Spiced Pear was delicious, our room was perfect, and the service was fantastic. We worked with Nancy, who made the entire experience stress-free and enjoyable. We had our ceremony outside on the lawn, but the rain site (had the sun not been shining) was really lovely also. The hardest part of planning my wedding was choosing which room to stay in- they're all so beautiful! We went with Nancy's recommendation, which was the Renaissance, and we had plenty of room to take pictures and do make-up, etc. Please note that we had only 11 guests, but the price range selected included all food, beverages, taxes, and gratuities. Have your wedding here! You'll be glad you did!
