My husband and I stayed here for our wedding weekend and offered the hotel to our guests as well! My baby niece was crying in the room next to us and I couldn’t hear a thing through the walls! I only know she was crying because I left my sisters room to go to my room when she was crying. The room was nothing short of perfection. The service and communication was timely and professional! They accommodated to everything we wanted and more and made our wedding weekend that much more special! We highly recommend the Charmant to any couple looking to get married in the La Crosse area. You will feel nothing short of royalty.
April and I decided to have our wedding at the Charmant Hotel not only because of the history of being a past chocolate factory but also the elegance of the building and most importantly the incredible service by every single member of this staff. The attentiveness provided by Nicole during the planning stage and through the wedding with the help of Natalie was second to none. From our bartenders and wait staff and even to Reid and Tim helping us with trying to help us jump start my mother in law's minivan, I couldn't have asked for more. The rooms were great and the beds so comfortable and again the staff providing April and me with a welcome gift and congratulatory gift was beyond expected. Lastly, April and I are from the Chicagoland area and have no ties to LaCrosse, so it says something to how impressive our experience was with all of our vendors and especially the Charmant Hotel. The Charmant is the centerpiece of LaCrosse

This upscale, boutique hotel is one in a million; it is a hidden gem that is the perfect combination of elegance and contemporary style. I booked my wedding block here knowing that I wanted my wedding to stand out from start to finish. No average hotel would do. I wanted something different, and I found it. The Charmant Hotel is a renovated candy factory that has kept its unique history alive. All around you are relics of a time past. A wall of memorabilia greets you as you walk in the door and the rooms are sweetly decorated with replicas of vintage candy boxes, advertisements, and gracefully aged wallpaper from the candy days. You are even gifted with sweet chocolates upon check in! The rooms are incredibly ornate. Each one a little different than the next. My now husband and I booked a Classic Chateau King, and I have absolutely no regrets! When we arrived, we found 4 bottles of my favorite beer and an assorted cheese tray with a handwritten note from the sales team that we worked with. It was a great personal touch. After cracking open the beers, we fell asleep almost immediately because the bed was so comfortable (and we obviously had a few celebratory drinks at our reception)! I never heard a peep from the neighbors, and we slept soundly through the evening. In the morning, after we returned from our gift opening, we enjoyed coffee on our private balcony that overlooked the city of La Crosse and the Mississippi River. I couldn’t have imagined a better way to spend the first afternoon as man and wife. Eventually we had to start collecting our things and prepare for our flight the next morning. I made sure to test out the rainfall shower (uh-mazing) and spent some quality time in the claw footed bathtub (even more uh-mazing). The large tub combined with quality CO Bigelow products was a great way to wind down In addition, the whole process was made even sweeter by all of the staff at The Charmant Hotel. The sales team was absolutely wonderful to work with. From the very beginning, I was treated as a bride, a feeling that I unfortunately did not receive from all my vendors. I felt as though my views were respected and cared for, and we always had an open line of communication. From the baristas to the front desk agents, the housekeeping team and the valet, everyone always had a smile on their face accompanied by a genuinely warm and welcoming demeanor. For any soon to be wed folks, I would recommend The Charmant a hundred times over. They truly make you feel special from single to wed. I cannot wait to spoil ourselves here on our first anniversary.
My husband and I were planning our La Crosse wedding from our home in New York, and we knew we needed to work with a venue that would be able to handle the details and be able to communicate with us effectively. When we heard about the newly built Charmant, we planned a visit and were very impressed with the set up of the hotel and friendliness of the staff. This hotel definitely filled a niche that did not previously exist in the La Crosse area where I had grown up.
In the end we did not decide to have our wedding or reception at the hotel, and in hindsight we are very glad that we planned it for elsewhere. We DID host our guests in a room block at the hotel, have our rehearsal dinner in the dining room and plan our cocktail rehearsal dinner on the rooftop. The reason we were happy that we DID NOT have our wedding at the hotel were as follows:
1. The Bridal room we were promised was given away and we were assigned to a different room.
2. The costs were dramatically inflated. We were charged not only a minimum fee for food and beverage (one we could not possibly fulfill with the number of people attending in the short amount of time we were promised the roof space), but also a rental fee for the space.
3. The Charmant seemed ill-equipped to host a wedding party and was out of touch with the fact that we were spending thousands to host guest, host our rehearsal dinner, cocktail party on the roof and post wedding party. It seemed they were pricing everything too high without providing the level of service that should accompany such a high price.
We were not satisfied with our experience, and I would encourage those planning wedding events in La Crosse to look elsewhere, perhaps places that are a bit more in touch and with more experience in wedding planning.
