We had our wedding at Shadow Lakes last month. Olivia made all our dreams come true. She was extremely organized and her attention to detail is what made our day so special. Our guest raved about the venue, the decor, the service, and the food. Most saying it was the best wedding they ever attended. We would definitely recommend Shadow Lakes to anyone looking to have a wedding. We could not be happier with our venue choice and being able to work with Olivia as our wedding planner. The staff went above and beyond for all of our guest. Bravo Shadow Lakes!
The wedding coordinator was absolutely horrible, there were ant all over our cookie table, the dinner selections were wrong. Our drink package was wrong. The A/C barely worked. The wedding coordinator worked our wedding and complained about feeling tired and overwhelmed to our guests. Do NOT recommend.
recently had my wedding here, it was scheduled for last September, but due to Covid we had to push it further out needless to say I was heartbroken. From start to finish I had a wonderful experience Diane was always quick to respond whenever I had a question. I was allowed to come in multiple times to view the venue and get ideas on how I wanted it set up. We were allowed to do a beautiful ceiling display for our wedding where as some other places we had looked at did not allow that. When we were not able to have our wedding in September as we originally planned Diane sat down with me and we discussed our options she even called me on our original date to see how I was doing. I was nervous to try again in May, but my wedding was gorgeous it looked like a fairytale. All of my guest raved about how wonderful the food and the service was and how beautiful everything looked. Everyone enjoyed the gorgeous views from the huge scenic windows and the staircase made for a beautifully elegant entrance for my bridal walk to the alter with my father. I would recommend this place to any of my family or friends or anyone looking for a beautiful scenic venue with many wonderful places inside and out for photo opportunities.
Outdoor ceremony & indoor reception made for a beautiful wedding. Diane, the coordinator, is fabulous and a dream to work with. The food is fantastic. All around a great experience!
Due to covid, we had to cancel our original plans of getting married in Allegheny County. We scrambled for a backup plan 50 days before our wedding when we stumbled upon the Club at Shadowlakes. I am so thankful we did!!!! Diane was amazing to work with. She handled everything we needed and we were able to have the most amazing reception. At such a stressful time, she handled every potential issue (she even went home to get her own cake cutting set when she realized we forgot ours during the set up earlier that day) I would absolutely recommend the venue to others. Great service, great food and because of that we had a great wedding!
I wish I could rate worse than a 1/5 star review. I was told 48 hours prior to my wedding that I needed to pay my remaining balance for my wedding. I went to the venue to drop off my check and noticed that they were charging me $2400 more than what my contract stated. When I questioned where the increase in cost came from, they told me they were charging for alcohol, chair covers, a “venue room charge”, and an additional 14 dinners. I told them that I wasn’t paying the extra $2400 because I was told that chair covers AND 4 hours of open bar were included in the cost. They told me they’d have to call the owner to confirm these details even though I had the contract pulled out for proof. The owner shows up & starts yelling that he would have never agreed to do my events at such a low cost & he was refusing to hold my events at that price & that I could sue him.then I paid an extra $150 to have them plate my cookies for the cookie table. When it came time to bring the cookies on Friday they said they couldn’t plate them due to lack of staff. So I ate that cost and my mom plated the cookies. Friday was the rehearsal dinner and the 2 office staff walked around with terrible attitudes and talked about us IN THE SAME ROOM where my guests could hear their conversations. Saturday the staff removed 1 box of my flowers that the florist had just delivered less than 5 min ago, so they had to be remade. Then the owner showed up and accused us of stealing one beer because there was a half empty bottle of miller lite on the table from the night before. The venue was filthy. My table cloths and seat covers were so dirty the photographer had to constantly try to rearrange things because you could see it in the photos. Bridal suite that my mother had to vacuum and clean. The staff member didn’t offer to do it herself. Nobody was there to help with anything. I ordered hors devours and drinks for the bridal suite, we never got them. I was told I would have to purchase everything the day of. They never set out my hors devours for my wedding. They cut my husband off from the bar around 10pm, when he legitimately wasn’t even near intoxicated. they only offered Coors & Miller lite, & somehow “ran out” of miller lite within 2 hours (about 110 guests that were of drinking age, and even so, they didn’t all drink alcohol.) About 3 hours into the dancing, the bartender randomly announced that no drinks were allowed on the dance floor (there was no discussion of this prior to.) one lady said she would be there to help with my train when I walked down the aisle but never did. Sunday Brunch was to start at 11:30, but our food wasn’t ready until after noon. Then the owner started saying that we damaged his “$50,000” painting by hanging the provided painting cover over it. When I toured the venue, they told me that they had a cover to go over it because “not everyone wants their wedding pictures to have a giant painting of a Chinese woman in the background.” The office staff lady “in charge” watched as the cover was hung. I paid over $1000 more than what I should have, per my contract. In addition to all of the food that I paid for but was never sent out. The owner stated that he was going to sue me when I told him I’d be sure to leave him reviews. Apparently, my experience is not isolated and happens quite frequently. Also, The bartender did not have a scoop for the ice and reused people’s dirty glasses directly in the ice to gather ice for their next drink.
Diane was the absolute best to work with. She was very accommodating and made sure my vision for the reception was met. The food, by Chef Art, was amazing! My friends and family cannot stop raving about the delicious spread. Also, the venue, itself, has beautiful views.
The wedding was beautiful and the food provided by the venue was amazing. They have almost everything you need right on location and they have a lovely place for a ceremony and reception. Would have given 5 stars but the wedding planning was often times difficult to get a hold of, especially on the day of the wedding.
This reception venue is absolutely beautiful, and the staffing was amazing. Diane did everything we wanted and also went out of her way to make sure we were happy. She even gave me her cell phone number for if I had any questions after work hours. The food was very good, and they workers were as nice as can be.
