EVENTS DIRECTOR
Located in the Back Bay area of Boston, MA, The College Club of Boston venue hosts wedding ceremonies, receptions, and other noteworthy occasions. A renovated Victorian brownstone mansion, this elegant property is also ideal for wedding festivities such as engagement parties, showers, and rehearsal dinners.
The College Club of Boston was founded by 19 women in 1890 who saw a need for more opportunities for professional and educated women to enjoy camaraderie in Boston. These founders thus created the first women's college club in the United States. They imbued this historic institution with an ethos of being a place to savor friendships, ideas, and conversation, which has lasted to this day. Doctors, educators, lawyers, scientists, realtors, and entrepreneurs are all represented in the club's membership. Originally a High Victorian townhouse, the building has a classic French look on the exterior. The 18-foot ceilings, classical decor, and stately rooms contribute to a refined ambience for special occasions. These premises can host a cocktail-style reception for up to 100 guests or up to 50 for a seated event. Additionally, wheelchair access and wireless internet add convenience for all visitors.
The College Club of Boston offers space for indoor wedding ceremonies and receptions, including elopements and civil unions. The eleven bedrooms on site are decorated in the colors of local colleges and universities, making excellent get-ready rooms or overnight accommodations. The venue staff also offers planning, design, catering, bartending, and the use of rental items. Their chef and catering director, Paul Collins, is dedicated to creating dishes from the freshest local ingredients for each couple's table.

My husband and I had both our ceremony and reception here in November 2019. It was absolutely perfect! We had photos taken in the gorgeous bedrooms while we got ready with the wedding party, had our ceremony in the banquet room, did group photos in the hall while the staff flipped the banquet room for dinner, then had dinner and dancing for the rest of the night. The entire night was seamless and so well planned. What we appreciated the most was the quality we got for the price. We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding and reception, and we were able to keep the entire night under $6k for 34 people. The room itself is so beautiful that you don’t have to worry about outside decor, and chairs, cutlery, linens, etc. are all included. Wonderful venue.

It's a beautiful venue! I hosted a Bridal Shower here with a tea-party theme. Remy and her team did an exquisite job! Every detail was as I imagined. The food was delicious. The space ideal!

The College Club of Boston was absolutely amazing! The venue is beautiful, the food is phenomenally delicious, and Jesse is absolutely amazing at making sure that everything goes smoothly in the planning stages as well as on the wedding day itself. The few inevitable bumps we ran into were more than adequately smoothed out, and Jesse truly cares that you and your guests have a great wedding. Jesse has the planning of a wedding down to an art form, from timing the ceremony and reception to helping you come up with room configurations and menu choices for your budget, to making sure that the guestbook, favors, and gifts all end up put out and then put away where they belong. All I had to do was give the staff boxes, and I got them back at the end- there was literally no work for me on the wedding day once I brought everything in the door (or scheduled for it to be delivered.)
Jesse has some great vendor recommendations, and while I wasn't able to use all of them, the ones I did use were excellent, affordable, very professional, and worked seamlessly as a team. All of the staff at the College Club is awesome and organized too, so you always receive consistent and caring customer service. The historic beauty of the venue thoroughly charmed us and our guests, and served the added bonus of eliminating the need for decorations.
The guest room we rented to prepare for the wedding was large enough to accommodate me, 4 bridesmaids, 2 relatives and any other people who needed to be in the room with space to spare, and it was beautiful enough for the photographer to use it to take bridal photos. I would recommend that brides bring a lighted make-up mirror with them, since the bathroom vanity light is pretty dim. Since the room doesn't automatically come with the wedding, you should book a room on the same day you book your wedding!
I received nothing but gushing compliments from everyone who attended my wedding, and my guests included a chef who's worked at 5-star restaurants and a woman who had attended a wedding so lavish it was featured on TV. Another one of my guests was wildly jealous, because his wedding venue cost more and wasn't nearly as nice. The College Club of Boston is truly a good value, too.
I would heartily encourage anyone looking for a wedding venue to choose the College Club, and I will most definitely stay in the College Club when the day comes that I no longer call Boston my home. Choosing the College Club was the best decision I could have made.
