The Colonnade and Historic Millsite Lodge is a sophisticated space in Milan, OH, designed for deluxe weddings. The venue has been setting the scene for special occasions for over 18 years. The team at this family-run facility is passionate about weddings. They will put in the work so couples can watch the magic unfold. Lead director Beth Ackerman has been organizing unforgettable weddings at The Colonnade since 2003. The team wanted to create a luxurious venue for local couples. This way, they can hold an extravagant celebration without the hassle of traveling to a bigger city. Since then, the property has expanded to host both indoor and outdoor events now attracting destination weddings to Ohio's NorthCoast. Both The Colonnade and Millsite Lodge have their own unique charm. At The Colonnade, couples can choose between two rooms. An elaborate celebration of 800 is possible in the Corinthian Room. Tall columns add to the refined ambiance of the space. The Cascade Room also offers a sophisticated and spacious setting. It has a capacity for up to 230 guests. Both rooms have a large dance floor. The newlyweds and their guests have plenty of space to celebrate in high spirits. For a more rustic event, couples can host their complete weekend wedding event at Millsite Lodge. Inside, there is room for 65-125 guests to come together in an intimate reception. The outdoor covered patio seats as many as 300 guests for bigger gatherings. A backdrop of scenic nature complements the occasion. Couples and their guests can also celebrate in the traditional ambiance of the 19th-century barn along the Cold Creek of The Oak at Millsite Farm located just downstream from Millsite Lodge along side one of Ohio’s largest Oak trees for the picture perfect ceremony. Notably The Colonnade hosts all catering and events service at all 3 locations, you will be sure to find your perfect fit with 18 years of experience to guide you with ease. Wherever you choose to celebrate your new beginnings, the team at The Colonnade and Historic Millsite Lodge will be there to help. Their all-inclusive packages will take you from planning to partying in one smooth ride. The venue coordinators are experienced at bringing dream events to life. They will show you exactly how your vision fits in at their different event sites. Along the way, the skilled in-house staff can take care of food, music, and more. Their creative chefs offer plated meals or buffet service. They will also prepare some delicious treats for the cocktail reception. The friendly bar staff is on hand to keep loved ones feeling refreshed and relaxed. Elegant decor packages and lighting options are available to help set the tone. Make sure to pack your dancing shoes, as the venue’s skilled coordinators can arrange live music and a DJ. To help your loved ones capture fun memories, a photo booth is available. For a romantic end to the day, up to 33 guests can stay overnight at the lodge.

int. There are so many activities to enjoy inside and outside…pure relaxation, to playing board games, pool, corn hole, riding bikes, walking, fishing, and more! Then…all the wedding festivities! The rehearsal dinner was just outside our room, as was the wedding day breakfast. Such a wonderful atmosphere! Everything from the food to the set up was just superb. Ranae and Dan did not miss a beat when making sure all guests were well taken care of. All the events (including the wedding reception) were extremely organized and beautifully arranged/decorated. We had time to hang around the property and enjoyed chatting with Ranae and Dan. They certainly made us feel welcome, just as though we were family. Most of the wedding party stayed onsite for a couple days/nights. Amazingly, you would not know there’s that much space to accommodate everyone, as each building is tucked away amidst all the trees, and there’s plenty of room for everyone to roam. Side note…ten years ago, our daughter had her wedding reception at The Colonnade in Milan, Ohio. Ranae’s sister, Beth, was our event manager. Beth took care of us, helping us with so many decisions, and guiding us through this important event in our lives. This family sure knows how to plan your events covering every detail and putting clients at ease along the way. The reception was absolutely perfect! In closing, whatever venue you select for your event, this family will take great care of you throughout the process. They are the gems inside these hidden gems!

The property is breathtakingly gorgeous, from the bridal suite, to the oak tree, to the barn.. there is not a square inch that isn’t just gorgeous. Our guests are still talking about how pretty everything was. Our wedding coordinator, Jewel, was so very attentive. She made sure guests were escorted to their seats, especially the elderly. She made sure we didn’t have to lift a finger, so that we could actually enjoy the day! They took care of the decor, the clean up, everything! Jewel even returned borrowed supplies from other vendors for me, without asking! We were finally able to have the wedding of our dreams! Thank you to the whole team!

Fast forward to November of 2021 and our wedding day. We could not have asked for a better set of venues or better people to work with for our big day. We lived out of state and Jewel (at the Colonnade) and Ranae (at Millsite) made everything easy on us and helped us in every way possible. Anything we needed they made sure we got! Even to the point that on the day of our wedding my sister in law went into labor and my brother could not run our ceremony music and Ranae’s husband quickly offered to run it for us, which was so helpful and made it a stress free day! The decorations were beautiful and everything we could have asked for or wanted. It was the absolute best day and weekend (we rented Millsite for the weekend and I totally recommend doing so!) and we highly recommended these venues and individuals for your wedding and reception. The food was delicious, the bar well stocked, the decorations beautiful, and they are helpful and kind and go out of their way to make your day everything you imagine. We cannot thank them enough for everything they did for us!

! We had our rehearsal dinner on-site. The wedding party stayed at the guesthouse, which was very convenient! The wedding was outside under the oak tree (which has a branch that forms a lovely natural arch), and the reception was in the barn, with additional tables set up outside the barn. The barn was breathtakingly beautiful. The team transformed it into a charming, elegantly rustic hall. And the upstairs loft (perfect for the groom and groomsmen) was stunning! Jewel and her designer captured our daughter's vision and executed it perfectly. They genuinely care about what matters to you, and about YOU! And the food was beyond delicious! Do not miss the Garlic Cavatappi and the artichoke dip!! Our guests still remark to me about how perfect everything was - food, decor, atmosphere, everything. Several have told me it was the best wedding they ever attended. I am so grateful to Jewel, Tim, Beth and their team for all of their attention and care, and you will be, too!!

We had a large wedding party and without a doubt, Millsite was able to accommodate us in the beautiful stables, cottage, and Gables. We enjoyed the beautiful grounds and extremely well kept lodges all weekend!

We had some unexpected weather the weekend of our wedding (torrential rain Friday and extreme humidity on Saturday), but Ranae and Dan made sure to offer us numerous options to keep things running smoothly. The care and thoughtfulness they put into their family business is evident by the details and hard work they put forth during every part of the planning process. From filling in for our officiant during our rehearsal dinner, to Ranae offering me her personal jewelry when it was discovered that my own had been misplaced right before the ceremony. You could not ask for more generous and kind hosts to be a part of your special day! Any questions or issues I had were addressed immediately and it took an immense amount of pressure off myself knowing that everything was in good hands the entire planning process.
The location is stunning, and the grounds are immaculate – the perfect place for intimate and group photos! The guests all had a fantastic time exploring the grounds and the fire pit during the evening was a huge hit. The food was another huge success as we have had several people tell us it was the best wedding food they have ever had (especially the garlic mashed potatoes!).
I truly cannot say enough complimentary things about our wedding weekend at Millsite Lodge. We are so happy that we chose to start this new chapter in our lives at such a beautiful place with amazing people. Highly recommend utilizing Millsite for your wedding and any special event needs!

ng Beth and her family I knew working with them would be such a positive experience. They were so helpful throughout the whole planning process, including having to reschedule because of COVID. What especially sold me on this venue was the ultimate decor package. Beth has collected an enormous amount of wedding decor through the years and she it to make such charming settings that are unique to each person’s style. For someone as busy as myself this was a huge blessing. When it came time for the wedding weekend the whole crew did a spectacular job. Everything took place without getting off schedule or any crazy mishaps thanks to everyone’s thorough planning and Katelyn/Tim’s execution. Having everyone stay right there on site through the whole weekend made things much less stressful and it allowed much more quality time with family and friends. The decor was gorgeous, the food was delicious and the outdoor setting in the early summer was so lovely. I got so many compliments from friends and family that the venue was gorgeous and they had a fantastic time. One family member even remarked, “We should have all our family weddings there!”

We had a phenomenal experience with Millsite Lodge. They have a beautiful location and we chose to rent the property for the entire weekend. We were able to do our rehearsal dinner there and offer lodging for the wedding party and a few guests....
It was extremely convenient and the team was in constant communication with us throughout the day. Everything went very smoothly and I know that was due to everyone's hard work and dedication. The location is stunning, the food was delicious, and I have received so many complements about how much everyone enjoyed the venue! Millsite is more than a venue, they offer so many supplemental services that brides can select which takes such a huge burden off of them. They are a little pricey, but for us it was worth it. I 100% recommend them.

EVERYTHING was perfect. From the houses we stayed in for the weekend, the beautiful rehearsal dinner (the caramel apple cheesecake dessert I still dream about), the wedding morning breakfast, Devon and his team that did our beautiful decor and the Colonnade who made our delicious wedding food! We scheduled our wedding ceremony and reception while living in two different states on the opposite side of the country, and the staff consisting of Beth Ackerman, Kate Volz, and Renae Alexander were amazing! They helped keep this bride calm and confident while planning everything from miles away. Then, they knocked it out of the park even more once COVID hit.
Our wedding and reception was booked during the summer of 2019 and we chose our date as May 24th, 2020. We saw the venue for the first time in December 2019 and didn't plan to be back until the wedding weekend! During our winter visit, we absolutely fell in love with the property and Kate helped connect us with great local musical talent and decorating advice. Beth always handled my calls and emails quickly and professionally if I ever had a question about the menu or our contract (even when I asked the same thing over and over again 😉) When the new year came and COVID started bringing many un-knowns into the picture, this team was the most accommodating and understanding vendor we could have asked for!
We decided to keep our May wedding date and had our ceremony and reception on a much smaller scale. Renae and her family took care of us so well during our stay serving us meals, helping us set up, and handling any curveball we threw at them with patience and grace. Each room was clean and had every amenity we needed. The property was so peaceful and we cannot wait to visit in the future to enjoy even more!
Our decor and catering was handled by Beth and her Colonnade staff. They captured my vision PERFECTLY!! Again, making wedding planning from Colorado extremely easy. My only regret is not having our full list of wedding guests present to enjoy such beautiful work and experience such delicious food.
Overall, you will not be disappointed with the Millsite. Whether for family/business events, weddings, or a weekend get away...you will be in great hands and experience a gorgeous hidden gem!

This was our first time booking Millsite Lodge since they changed to new ownership and management. We were celebrating my mom's birthday and had such a wonderful time. The Innkeeper, Renae, did everything possible to make Mom's experience there...
fabulous. She accommodated us by have a delicious birthday cake and attractive balloons awaiting mom upon arrival. It was on a weekday so she was able to arrange a small celebration room for mom to eat her cake and open presents. Afterward, we got to go trout fishing in the serene brook in the backyard. You can fish for trout there or just sit and take in the scenic rural countryside under a shaded weeping willow tree on a hot day. It was so peaceful! We had the whole private fishing brook for our family. Also, while we were there we got a sneak peek at their wedding preparation for a weekend wedding. spotless, and the food (generous portions) was divine. The outdoor space for our ceremony was lush and the perfect backdrop for gorgeous photos. Our guests loved spending time exploring the property, enjoying the fire pit and riding bikes all around. They accommodated all of our requests, adding such special touches that made every aspect of our event and stay memorable.
Ranae and Beth responded to every one of our emails within hours if not minutes with emails or phone calls, answering all of our questions, and asking us additional questions to ensure our big day was perfect. We booked our event, sight unseen, 3 weeks before our wedding, and the property far exceeded our expectations; the photos don't do it justice.
There aren't enough words to thank Ranae and Danny, we are so grateful. Millsite will hold a special place in our hearts forever.

Everything was so BEAUTIFUL! I walked in and was so blown away by how perfect everything looked. I could't have asked for anything more.
The only thing that I was really disappointed on was the food.. We opted for a buffet for our reception food. From the beginning we expressed how large our wedding guest list would be (invited 470 and 370ish showed). We also expressed how we wanted lots of food to be provided so that our guests would have the opportunity to come back for seconds. Well unfortunately the food didn't even make it the first round. We ordered the bourbon chicken and it didn't even make it to half our guests before it ran out and the same goes for the macaroni and cheese. We also had a carving station and a lot of guests complained that it was very tough. I was so embarrassed with how half our guests didn't get the chicken or the mac and cheese and all the guests got very tough beef. Over all the colonnade was very beautiful but the food was a very disappointing factor in our wedding day. :(

We were able to drop off our signage, photos, and all of our personal decorations to the Colonnade the night before the wedding. Kate was there to answer all of my questions and make any last minute changes that I needed. She went above and beyond anything and everything I could ask of her.
Kate was also always around during our reception, checking in with my husband and I to see if we needed anything. She even had towels ready for after the cake cutting/feeding! Kate (literally) went the extra mile when she drove our forgotten cutting cake to our after party to make sure we got to take it home with us.
The most amazing part about the Colonnade is their beautiful decor package. Beth and Kate took me, my mom, and mother in law through their decor pieces so I could choose what I liked. From there they created a beautiful set-up that my guests are still talking about. Their cupcakes were also a huge hit for our guests. Kate and Beth suggested a receiving line over at the cupcake table and it was the perfect way to greet all of our guests, and keep the line moving.
I would recommend the Colonnade to any bride who wants an elegant, hassle free event that you and your guests will love.

Texas was not easy, but Beth was ALWAYS available for a text message or an e-mail. Many times she calmed my nerves and answered my millionth silly question. The Colonnade made planning and directing our reception so easy! We were planning from out of state, so Beth's prompt and thorough responses through email and her organization at our in-person meetings were invaluable. Decor, catering, and ligh...
ting were all included within our selected reception package. In the weeks leading up to our wedding, knowing that all of our reception details were professionally handled rendered stress much less prevalent. At the reception itself, and even now three weeks later, we are still receiving compliments on the ambiance and catering. Beth is also proactive in making sure the event flows seamlessly, whether that means communicating with a slightly newer vendor or directing guests to all that the Colonnade has to offer. Other area vendors we considered were beautiful or perhaps less expensive, but the Colonnade offers each couple a reception that reflects them and their wedding vision.

We have four daughters, our youngest [who just got married on November 12th] was the only one to have her reception at The Colonnade and boy do we wish we would have know about this wonderful banquet facility for our other 3 daughters. Her wedding reception was not only the most beautiful and fun of all the receptions. . .it was also the EASIEST!!
Beth is GREAT at what she does, she's so warm. kind and knowledgeable. She makes you feel like you are her only client. Her goal is for YOU to have the BEST "stress free" event and experience ever. . . and that we did!!! From the first meeting with Beth to the actual event, she keeps you on track, informed and steps you through everything.
I HIGHLY recommend and encourage all brides to have their reception here. We all LOVED the flow of the evening, how friendly, helpful and efficient the servers were, how delicious [and hot] the food was, how beautiful the room was and how fabulous the entire event and evening went. I actually called Beth the next day and cried. . . thanking her for making my baby girl's wedding reception above and beyond what we expected. The Colonnade [and Beth Ackerman} are truly special.

We loved all the extras too that they had to offer – the entrees, appetizers, hors d’oeuvres, lighting, desserts (cookies/ice creams), photo booth, alcohol/drinks, etc. I brought in tons of pictures, extra things for our guests to sign, memorial table, TV/DVD to play our wedding video, etc. and Beth did a great job of laying everything out for me. As the night continued, Beth and her staff kept the night moving along smoothly. My reception was behind an hour but no one could even tell as Beth was working closely with my DJ and photographer to keep things going. I didn't worry a bit as they allowed me to enjoy my night.

To begin, the facility owner (Beth Ackerman) was incredibly accommodating and friendly. I always felt welcome visiting and asking questions. I told her I was planning on a vintage 1920's Great Gatsby glam theme and I literally saw the wheels start turning immediately and her eyes lit up! I'm not sure who was more excited about the event, her or me?!?! :)
You know how you usually have incredibly high hopes for what you would like for your special day, but inevitably things never fully come together and you end up feeling let down? THAT WILL NOT HAPPEN HERE!! The decor was AMAZING. Seriously, amazing is an understatement. I'm just glad I was able to come in the day before the reception to be able to fully take in all of the details....which made me cry! It looked like it was straight out of a movie or something that only the mega-rich could afford.
The attention to detail was almost overwhelming. Beth and her son (who both decorated) KILLED IT!! They both took the time to listen to me and what I was envisioning, her son scoured my Facebook page (he asked for my permission) for ideas, and Beth let me walk through her store room to look at all of her decorations...HOW EXCITING!!! Believe me, I can keep dishing out the compliments! Everything exceeded my expectations...far and above!
The food was delicious. We decided on the Bourbon Chicken and Country Club Sirloin (both cooked perfectly) with the sides being Cavatappi and broccoli in roasted garlic cream sauce, rice pilaf, green beans with bacon, and garlic mashed red potatoes. We also decided on the call brands for the alcohol. I asked Beth if we could do a signature drink for the night and she was more than happy to do that, we ended up deciding on the Ward 8, and it was delicious!!
The service was excellent! Everyone was incredibly gracious and nice to all of our guests. They went above and beyond to make everyone comfortable and happy.
You might possibly think it's expensive at first, but when you factor in the fact that they do ALL of the work...you just show up...it's all worth it. They did all of the set up, tear down, and cleaning. Literally, you just show up and feel like a queen (or king), whichever the case may be. I cannot recommend this place more highly!! It's worth every penny.
