The Colony Club Detroit

Everything about our experience with the Colony Club was exceptional, from our very first tour to the final moments of our reception. The venue is absolutely stunning — our guests haven’t stopped talking about how magical it felt, especially watching the sunset pour through the grand ballroom windows as we danced the night away! The food was truly phenomenal, with so many guests telling us it was the best wedding meal they’ve ever had. Throughout the planning process, Julia went above and beyond to guide us with warmth and professionalism. During the week of the wedding, Miranda was an incredible coordinator who made sure every detail went off without a hitch. We are so grateful to the entire team and truly could not recommend the Colony Club more!

Having our wedding at the Colony Club was the best decision we made. The day was perfect and exactly what we envisioned. Our guests raved about the food and overall service, which was all 5 stars. Colony Club really cares for every couple that comes in and knows how important their wedding is. They work to personalize every detail, and that means so much! We worked with Amber for planning and if I could give 6 stars I would. She was extremely responsive and so helpful in answering any and all questions. We then worked with Miranda day of, and it was seamless. She was incredibly responsive and always available. Thank you both for making our wedding day exactly what we wanted and more! We will remember it forever!

The Colony Club hosted the wedding of our dreams! Taliah and her team made all the planning an absolute breeze. Taliah is so organized and on top of it all! The food was impeccable. The service was even better. The location is right in downtown Detroit making it accessible for all metro Detroiters and out of town guests to navigate. The building itself is gorgeous and you are able to get beautiful pictures inside. I cannot recommend the Colony Club more highly!

We love the Colony Club! Our wedding was the first weekend in October. Their staff was so professional, fun and polite! The venue itself is gorgeous and in a perfect location. They truly know what their doing and make it so easy for the bride/groom. Our guests loved it and we had the best wedding ever!

This venue was everything I could have imagined and more. Amber sharp made this such an easy and laid back process. Miranda and Dylan made our night go so smoothly. The food was amazing and the venue is so beautiful. I wish I could keep living this night!!

The Colony Club helped make wedding planning and our wedding day so much fun! We couldn't be more grateful to the CC team and worked quite a bit with Jaime in the planning phases. Jaime was responsive, fun, and just has a great attitude. We also got to work with Dylan as our day-of manager and Dylan went above and beyond, even driving a bag of important belongings to us the day of our wedding that we'd forgotten at the venue during rehearsal the day before. This saved us SO much stress! Dylan and Jaime, you two are heroes. The entire staff is incredible and helped make our day perfect. The venue itself you just need to go and see in person. It checks all of the boxes: it's grand, historic, incredibly romantic, beautifully maintained... it's truly everything we wanted in a venue. We had the best day of our lives and are so grateful to Colony Club for being the backbone of that effort in so many ways - they are wonderful and I will be singing their praises for years to come.

We LOVED the colony club and the staff!! First off, the venue itself is amazing and absolutely stunning. There is nothing else like the Colony Club in our eyes! It has a romantic, vintage and imitate feel even though it is a larger venue and can hold a lot of guests (we had 170). It speaks for itself! To top it off, the staff is amazing which makes it even more special! We worked with Jaime leading up until the event and she was super responsive, professional, accommodating & solution-oriented, had great insight and gave us all her expertise when needed! She definitely wanted us to be happy and wanted to make all our requests come true! She was a pleasure to work with and made the planning process FUN! We then got a professional transition and introduction to Nathalie, who was our event manager the day of the wedding, and everything was so seamless - we did not have to lift a finger or answer any questions because she was so on top of everything and knew all the details of our event/etc! It was like Nathalie had been working with us the whole time. 20/10 experience - my parents and inlaws both thought the same!

The Colony Club should be the first venue everyone getting married in Detroit visits. First of all - they take care of everything - food, alcohol, chairs, linens, etc. We had both our ceremony and reception there. AND, for the vendors you will need, coordination is a breeze - everyone has worked with them before. We had a lovely planning experience with Jaime where she went out of her way to assist us in getting ready for our big day. She even set up a to-go tasting for us when I sprained both my ankles and wouldn’t have been able to attend. Our day-of coordinator Nathalie was phenomenal and made sure we had absolutely everything we needed. The food is amazing, and I had so many guests come up to me complimenting the dinner, the mini desserts the coney station we had for a late-night snack. Everyone from the wait staff to the bartenders went the extra mile for us and our guests. On top of all of that, it is such a gorgeous venue - another compliment I received all night from our guests! We booked 2 years out and got the exact date we wanted.

The Colony Club was the most beautiful place for our July wedding! It was so convenient to have a venue that included almost everything, and where we were able to have all events so our guests didn’t have to travel in between. We received a ton of compliments on the venue, especially the Grand Ballroom where we had both our ceremony and reception. Jaime was also great to work with throughout the entire planning process and answered all my questions efficiently. My ONLY complaint is that our on-site venue manager didn’t really do much for our rehearsal and didn’t even introduce himself to me (even though I was dressed in all white and was clearly the bride, lol). We also didn’t see him much on the wedding day, but maybe he was doing more work in the background. Either way we didn’t have any major issues, so all good! I would highly recommend this venue if you’re looking for something all-inclusive in the Detroit area.

My wife and I were recently married at the Colony Club, and had an absolutely fantastic experience. It's a beautiful venue with a lovely staff; the in-house food is excellent (fun tastings, too), and the staff works very well with outside vendors. The newly renovated cocktail spaces are fantastic, and the bartenders know exactly what they're doing. Special thanks to Jaime, who worked with us through the entire planning process and regularly touched base to ensure everything ran smoothly! We're still receiving compliments on the location, and we honestly cannot recommend this place highly enough.

The Colony Club was the perfect venue for our July wedding! The newly updated bar was stunning & the grand ballroom was exquisite. It was the perfect day! Jaime was an absolute pleasure to work with! She made the planning process so easy & smooth. Loved her personality & how organized/efficient she was. Her experience shines through! And the entire team at the venue on the day of was amazing. They really went out of their way to cater to us & we felt so taken care of. Shoutout to Cass who was super attentive to not only us but the entire wedding party! Thank you for the wonderful experience! Highly recommend!

We had our June 2023 wedding at the Colony Club and everything was absolutely amazing! Jaime was incredible to work with and made everything so simple and easy. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful and they were extremely accommodating. They worked with us to do a custom late night snack that was not on their menu. Miranda was our day of contact and she was great. She made the final few days of planning a breeze. We had the absolutely best day and could not have been more pleased with how great the Colony Club made our wedding day!

I felt that the Colony Club put forth a lot of effort into making my wedding reception wonderful and fun! Amber and Miranda were incredibly easy to work with and friendly, and super helpful. The Colony Club was accommodating and beautiful.

The Colony Club was amazing during the entire process! They truly thought of every detail during the planning process and were unbelievably courteous and professional. On the day of, every detail (and we had a lot!) was executed perfectly. Our day-of event manager coordinated seamlessly with our other vendors to make sure everything was smooth. The service was excellent and the food was delicious; especially the passed appetizers which were all piping hot.The bartenders did an awesome job too; the drinks were all tasty. Every staff member that saw me asked if I needed a drink, a water, or food. I felt like an absolute queen!

The Colony Club was an absolute dream to work with. Jaime Smith & Nathalie Cornelious we’re so incredible to help plan our big day and then execute it day of, even with some table changes morning before. I appreciate Jamie for having great communication with me throughout or planning and last minute questions. Nathalie helped me, a very anxious bride, feel confident during our rehearsal and making me feel reassured she had everything set and ready to go, which she absolutely did and more day of our event. Cass/Cassie was our (Bride & Groom) main attended and she was absolutely perfect. So attentive to us and to the entire wedding. Even packed desserts for us as we were too busy dancing to actually have any. We loved the entire staff and the care y’all put into our special day means the world. The Colony aclu. staff went above and beyond and we’re still blown away by it, even a week later. 10/10 recommend booking here for the beauty and the way everything is handled so efficiently and with so much care & kindness! We had our ceremony and reception at the Colony Club 4th floor petite ballroom and it was the night of our dreams. We worked with Jaime and Amber for the almost year leading up to our wedding, and they were so professional, friendly, organized. They kept us on track with making decisions, and also offered helpful advice/suggestions. They were very responsive, easy to get in touch with, and flexible with trying to help get the day as perfect as we envisioned. The tasing process was so much fun - you basically get served like at a restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious - we got many compliments from guests about how much they enjoyed it. The actual venue is so romantic and beautiful - the space speaks for itself. On the big day, Preston was the event manager, and he was so great. He handled any issues that came up and coordinated with our wedding planner so my husband and I could just enjoy the night - heck, he even filled in for a bartender that I believe called in sick. He was a man of many talents. I highly recommend the Colony Club for a wedding! The space and employees were great.

I can't recommend The Colony Club enough. Before our invitations went out and people would ask about the venue, their eyes would light up when we'd say The Colony Club... and if they hadn't been before, they left delighted. People are still raving about the food and drinks, which are definitely one of the most important parts of your day, and the friendly staff were just the cherry on top. Everyone was excellent to work with from start to finish. I'm so happy we had our wedding at The Colony Club.

Wonderful event space that made our special night flawless. The staff was on top of everything, and the venue was stunning. The attention to detail was next level. The groomsmen suite had college football playing, a stocked beer and wine fridge, and staff bringing in appetizers as we came upstairs. Communication throughout the entire process was great, and we received many compliments on the food (especially the filet). Thank you for everything!

The Colony Club is an absolutely stunning venue. We had the wedding of our dreams at the Colony Club and we are forever grateful! From the amazing staff, to the delicious food, to the gorgeous ambiance, we are still on cloud nine. Nicole was also so helpful with all the planning and keeping us on track with due dates. We cannot recommend the Colony Club enough!!

I really cannot say enough amazing things about the Colony Club! We had our wedding in the Petite Ballroom on the upper floor and hosted about 75 people. The food was spectacular (people are still raving about it), and the coordination among the team there was excellent. Jaime Smith was our main point of contact for the majority of the planning process, and she was great at answering questions and following-up on details. She is so friendly and accessible. I loved working with her throughout the entire experience. Jake was our day-of person and he did a great job and I felt like the event flowed seamlessly. The staff at my wedding were PHENOMENAL. I cannot express how wonderful they were. They were so kind and attentive to everyone. I honestly am so impressed and grateful to the team that worked the event. It felt like they were such a wonderful group of people and added to the overall experience. The venue comes with a lot of bonuses included in the packages that you book - you get chiavari chairs, nice linens, they had an easel for my seating chart, they have table numbers which you can use (I ended up using theirs instead of mine because they seemed like they actually fit better with the space.) The appetizers at cocktail hour were wonderful and there were plenty of them. They are passed by servers on trays (which I always think feels like a classy touch). I didn’t have a cake, so instead I booked a dessert table with them, which I also thought was great. There are so many perks to booking with Colony Club that I have a hard time understanding why anyone wouldn’t choose them. It was a great size space for the 75 people that we invited (and could definitely accommodate a larger amount than that). We actually had a full seven piece band set up in the larger back area of the Petite Ballroom, and a lot of dancing space was still left. There was plenty of room and people were dancing all night. All in all, my wedding there was incredible and everything that I wanted it to be. I can’t recommend this venue or team of people enough!

The Colony Club was the perfect place for my wedding reception. The staff was super helpful and answered my hundreds of one-off questions throughout the entire process. The food was fantastic and day-off staff were extremely helpful and professional. The place is absolutely stunning and I received so many compliments on how beautiful our reception was. They give you a list of their preferred vendors and I highly recommend looking into them for DJ and florals especially, as these vendors know the location and can easily work with the Colony Club to coordinate set up so that you can stay out of it. I am so appreciative to the staff at the Colony Club for making my wedding the most perfect and beautiful day!

We had our wedding at the Colony Club on June 10, 2022, and it exceeded our expectations. It is such a beautiful venue that I knew I wanted to have our reception there even before we got engaged. Everyone we worked with at the Colony Club made it that much better. We worked with Amber for our planning, and she answered all of our questions and was open to any special requests we wanted to make. Nathalie was our Venue Manager, and she was there the whole night to make sure everything went according to plan. I cannot recommend this place enough. All of our guests commented on how beautiful the venue was and how good their food was.

The Colony Club hosted our absolute dream wedding on 5/28/22! The venue is just beautiful, the food was AMAZING, and the staff were on their A game. The planning process with Jamie was so smooth, she was quick and easy to get in contact with, and answered all of my millions of questions. Preston was our day of venue manager and he was wonderful himself! Everything was set up exactly how I planned and the day and timeline went absolutely perfect. We could not be happier with choosing the Colony Club as our venue.

The colony club was the PERFECT venue. They made it so easy, Jaime was amazing the entire time, always answered all of my questions and I never felt annoying (lol). My day of coordinator Nathalie was also wonderful and guided us through the entire day. There is not one negative thing I could say about the colony club, highly recommended. If i could make it 6 stars I would.

All I can say is WOW! We knew from the second we walked in the doors that we wanted to be married at the Colony Club. The architecture and beauty of the venue captured our hearts immediately. If you want to feel like an absolute Disney princess, this is the place to be! We had our ceremony on the 4th floor and the reception in the 3rd-floor ballroom. From the second we signed the contract, to the moment the party ended, the Colony Club staff has been everything we could've wanted and MORE! We were originally supposed to get married in July 2021 but had postponed to January 2022 due to Covid. The Colony Club was nothing but accomodating for any change or request we had. The food was phenomenal, even better than at the tasting. We received nothing but compliments from our guests on the service, food, and the absolute beauty of the venue. The venue managers, Nathalie and Preston, went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make sure our day was perfect. I can honestly say I do not regret hiring a day-of coordinator because the Colony Club staff made sure every detail was perfect, and that our timeline was executed to a tee. Everyone always tells you that something will go wrong on your wedding day, and I can say with confidence that that was not the case on our day. It was as picture-perfect as can be. I am so thankful we chose the Colony Club!!!

When we first walked into the Colony Club while touring venues, both my (then) fiance and my eyes completely lit up and we knew this was where we had to get married. The ballroom is breathtakingly beautiful, and so perfectly laid out to maximize both the couple and the guests' enjoyment of the space; dancing is central and spacious, you feel close to all of your guests (we truly had no bad tables we were worried about), and the bars and other activities/amenities (photo booth, guest book, restrooms, etc) were so easy to get to for our guests. We were so impressed with the venue, but even more impressed by the superb service that the Colony Club gives to its couples from start to wedding day. We worked with wonderful coordinators at the Colony Club, who seamlessly worked with our own day of coordinator to make our reception perfect with absolutely no added stress on me or the groom. All of the details were exactly as we imagined them, all of our vendors were set up on time, and all of the wait staff at the Colony Club was top notch. Not too mention the food - which is incredible. We got SO many compliments from our guests about their meals (and I was so glad I got to eat my full meal!) The service is so exceptional, the bride and groom even have their own server during the night - you are able to eat when you want, and never have to send any of your friends to the bar for you :) A small detail we weren't expecting, that made our night that much easier to enjoy!!

When we toured the Colony Club it was September 2019 and at that time the earliest Saturday they had available was October 9, 2021. To say we lucked out is an understatement especially as there was no way we could have known the effect Covid-19 would have in 2020 and on. Throughout the planning and coordination experience we had four different event managers, which is understandable given the circumstances with Covid-19, but the details and planning NEVER got lost or miscommunicated. It was seamless and we are so appreciative for the professionalism and communication with Jamie & Jake - especially their patience with all my anxious emails in the weeks leading up to our day. We had complete faith with the team at the Colony Club to make sure all of our details were executed and they absolutely delivered. On the wedding day, our guests could not stop talking about the food, the service, and the beauty of the space. We cannot recommend the Colony Club and their team enough!

The best venue; the best service. Not only does the colony club look like something from a Disney movie, but the service was beyond exceptional. My wedding was delayed for 1.5 years due to covid, and the colony club was extremely accommodating and patient. I appreciated how diligent, punctual, and professional everyone was. Everyone constantly communicated and addressed my every concern and question. My wedding day went so smoothly because of the colony club. Every detail, every aspect of the wedding reception was executed to perfection. I didn’t have to worry about anything. They’re super reliable and thorough and detail oriented. I can’t stress how amazing the service was - from the venue manager to every single person on the staff the night of my wedding - they fully executed their roles perfectly. My wedding was what it sad because of the colony club and I will forever be grateful for how amazing, efficient, reliable, exceptional, and responsibly they were. This is the best venue to have a wedding. It is so beautiful; it looked like something from a fairytale. Special shout-out to Nicole and Jessica -they were so kind, reliable, detail-oriented, and ensured everything went smoothly.

My son and daughter-in-law got married here, 2 weeks ago. The venue is beautiful and am sure their pictures will not be able to do it justice. The food was delicious. The staff were over the top! Very attentive and eager to make sure we were well taken care of. We were here for another wedding this past weekend and the staff remembered my family and I! They were just as amazing the 2nd time around!

The Colony Club was the absolute perfect venue for us. They were incredibly helpful from our tour in the very beginning to the very last minute of our reception. Not only is it a gorgeous venue, the service is top notch. We worked with Alex for our planning and Bertha for our “day of” and they were so happy to help with anything they could. Being one of the first normal weddings after covid, everyone was just excited to be there! The tasting is so much fun and the food at the actual wedding surpassed the tasting! Everyone talked about how delicious the food was at our post-wedding brunch. I cannot share enough how grateful I am to The Colony Club for creating the wedding of my dreams. It was truly perfect in every way!!

We had my daughter's wedding and reception at the Colony Club and it was fabulous from beginning to end. Working with Alex was a delight as she made the whole process so easy. The venue is gorgeous, the service was impeccable and the food was delicious. There was not one thing that didn't go well the entire evening. Bertha and Caitlin the night of the wedding took care of everything for us so all we had to do was enjoy!

If I could give the Colony Club over 5 stars, I would. From our very first site visit with The Colony Club, we knew it was where we wanted to have our wedding reception. The Colony Club third floor ballroom is absolutely stunning, with beautiful chandeliers and gold ornate details throughout the room, and tall floor-to-ceiling windows with beautiful draping. Our family and friends were blown away by how gorgeous the Colony Club was! Our day was perfect and that’s all thanks to the staff at the Colony Club! Samantha was an absolute pleasure working with throughout the whole wedding process! Not only was she knowledgeable, but she was very responsive throughout the whole wedding planning process! Molly was our event manager and she did a phenomenal job making sure everything ran smoothly. They were so kind as to let our vendors arrive early to set-up. The food was so delicious and the service was attentive! I would HIGHLY recommend having your wedding at the Colony Club. I would also recommend booking as early as possible to secure your date as this is a popular venue!! So worth it! If you are a bride and groom, do yourself a favor and book the Colony Club now! I got married on Friday and it was an absolute fairy-tale thanks to the team at the Colony Club. The Venue itself is breathtaking. My guests were blown away that a place like that even exists in Detroit. From the architecture and up lighting to the bar set up and food, the night was flawless and talked about for days following. What really made it all perfect though was the staff. Prior to our wedding we worked with Samantha for booking and planning. She was extremely accommodating and answered all our questions. We were assigned Molly as our week and day of wedding coordinator and she was like Jennifer Lopez from the movie, The Wedding Planner. When I needed a Bobby pin, she popped out of no where with a bridal first aid kit. When my groom’s party were on the run, she organized us. She answered late night emails the week leading up to the wedding and completely eased and stressors I had. Overall it was a 5 star experience and I wish I could relive the day over and over.

The best place for a reception. We had our reception on the 4th floor, and it was perfect for ~120 guests. The staff was extremely helpful the entire night and went out of their way to make sure we were enjoying ourselves and eating and drinking. Our guests were RAVING about the food; generous portions but excellent quality, and amazing passed appetizers. We have zero complaints about this venue! It was stunning and the team was a dream to work with.

The staff at Colony Club was wonderful! It is a very elegant venue and I could not be any happier with how everything turned out.
