Ja’el and her entire team at The Coordinated Collective were AMAZING! We had a multi-day, mixed culture wedding and it had a lot of moving parts. They spent a countless number of hours helping to prep and get to know my husband and I. Ja’el has the best spreadsheets and helped us stay extremely organized. They contacted each and every vendor to make sure nothing would slip through the cracks. They helped us be stress free and kept everything running smoothly. I could not recommend them enough. 100 stars!!

Ja'el was instrumental in ensuring our wedding came together and we couldn't have done it without her! We ended up having a rainy wedding day and coordinating/mediating the changing plans on the day-of to execute the rain plan wouldn't have been possible without Ja'el's support. She advocated for us, led the other vendors in adapting to the weather, and kept everything on time. From our initial planning calls and providing vendor recommendations to ensuring the wedding day was seamless, TCC was easy to work with and more than worth the investment! Highly recommend!

Ja'el went above and beyond for us! We had a short span for planning our wedding and things were constantly chaotic. Ja'el was there for us when other's weren't. She provided not only amazing day of coordination but wonderful prewedding planning.

We hired the amazing team at Coordinated Collective to help coordinate our wedding. We had been connected to her through our neighbors, who has also used the coordinated collective for their wedding. We have to say that hiring Ja’el and her team (Molly and Jessica) was the single most valuable investment of our wedding. Ja’el is extremely professional and has a process and system that ensured that all of our desires and wishes were captured and communicated to all of our vendors, wedding party, family and friends. We had several calls with Ja’el leading up to our wedding, where we discussed and finalized some of the major details of our wedding. Ja’el also was available to offer perspective, make recommendations, and answer some of our minor questions as well. She was extremely attentive, quick to respond, and clear on setting and communicating expectations with us. Ja’el’s process, timeline, and consistent urging ensures that every detail of our wedding was planned and communicated to our vendors 2 weeks prior to our event. This included photography and videography, the DJ, the venue and catering, hair and makeup, transportation, flowers, decor, lighting, cake baker, officiant, and wedding party. This also included a full inventory of everything that was ours and/or needed to return after the event. This ensured that we could spend the weeks leading up to our event communicating to and welcoming our guests into town as well as answering minor questions. During the rehearsal, Ja’el effectively communicated our vision to our wedding party and set the tone, making sure that everyone knew and respected that the day was ours. On the day of the event, it was clear that Ja’el and her team were prepared. They arrived on time, ensured that all of our vendors knew where to be and when and delivered on their services, and handled everything with flying colors. All of the preparation, leading up to the day allows us to feel comfortable and confident that Ja’el and her team knew what we wanted and could deal with any issues as they came. If there were major issues, we certainly didn’t know about it. There were a couple minor issues that we noticed during the day but Ja’el and her team handled everything. Behind the incredible professionalism, the coordinated collective team was so fun to work with. They even showed off some dance moves towards the end of our reception. Our day was absolutely amazing and we literally could not have pulled it off without the Coordinated Collective. We weren’t the only ones to notice either. Even some of our friends and family have expressed how impressed they were with Ja’el. We would 1000% hire them again and would 10000% recommend them to others.

Ja'el and her team were wonderfully professional, supportive, and organized. My wife and I went into our wedding day 100% confident that they had everything covered, and indeed they kept everything running smoothly and we had a wonderful wedding thanks to the Coordinated Collective! Hiring The Coordinated Collective was by far the best decision we made for our wedding - Ja'el was so wonderful in getting us started, and Meredith, our dedicated Coordinator leading up to and during our wedding was beyond amazing. The staff at our venue was not the most attentive or detail-oriented, so having Meredith take care of everything for us really put our minds at ease and we didn't have to worry about any detail on wedding day as Meredith and her assistant Molly had us covered. I 110% recommend TCC for anyone's wedding!

Ja'el was fantastic, and I can't say enough good things about her, her work, and her team. I suffered a severe concussion that significantly impacted my cognition about 8 months before our wedding, and Ja'el went above and beyond in helping me to feel confident, on track, and organized in the months leading up to the wedding. We quite literally could not have done it without her. She helped connect us with other vendors as well as took over all communication with them as the wedding got closer. Her confidence, professionalism, and expertise is unbeatable. Our family could not stop talking about how amazing she was. You need her for your wedding!

The whole experience with Liz and Blair was absolutely fantastic. Starting with our planning calls, they were constantly working to make sure that we weren't overly stressed about anything, to organize our very unorganized ideas for the wedding, and to help us find excitement and joy in the less exciting moments. On the actual wedding day, they were OUTSTANDING. We had absolutely zero stress day-of and were able to enjoy our wedding day with each other and the guests. It started raining midway through the reception and Liz and Blair pivoted to pull outside aspects under the tent, create a rain shield for the DJ, and ensure that guests didn't even notice the disruption. I truly can't say enough great things about them and I would recommend them over and over and over - THANK YOU to Liz and Blair for the best experience!

Ja’el and her team were beyond helpful leading up to the wedding and on wedding day! She is super organized and kept everything running on time. On wedding day, I didn’t have to worry about anything from where and when to be somewhere to making sure our wedding exit went off without a hitch. I would highly recommend to every bride!!

We met with her a few times leading up to the big day as well as doing our venue walkthrough and she lessened our stress immensely. Ja'el and The Coordinated Collective was the final puzzle piece that my husband and I needed to have the perfect vendor team. Our florist recommended Ja'el and from the first conversation I knew Ja'el was exactly who we needed. We wanted to have a month of coordinator because we had family coming from Texas and Connecticut and we did not want to be stressed when our guests were coming to town. Our goal was to make the most of our favorite people in our favorite city and we could not have achieved that without Ja'el. Ja'el really went above and beyond for us. She helped us select our vendors for drapes and rentals, she helped us stay on top of deliverables with vendors, and she even helped coach us revising guest count expectations with our venue. While all of these things were huge, the biggest impact for me was feeling how much Ja'el cared about me and my husband. She showed this during our meetings when she would stop us and say "I hear stress in your voice, let's talk about it and work through what is stressing you out." She showed this when she said that I could use her as a sounding board when trying to work through difficult family dynamics. She especially showed this on our wedding night where she constantly protected me and my husband's time together and went above and beyond so we could soak in our night. I really do not know what we would have done without Ja'el and her team. During the last two months of planning, I told Ja'el I was at the threshold of making decisions and I am so glad she was there to keep things moving and not only get us across the finish line, but truly create the wedding of our dreams. The Coordinated Collective, and specifically Ja'el (with the assistance of Liz day of) is the reason that our wedding went off without a hitch. From our first phone call, I could tell that Ja'el was exactly the kind of coordinator we needed. Ja'el is a clear and quick communicator, and throughout our wedding planning process was a fantastic resource. One of the things that makes The Coordinated Collective stand out compared to other day of coordinators is that they are available for unlimited emails. Any time we had a question Ja'el was there to help us navigate. Additionally, as a very type-A bride who planned her own wedding, I knew that letting go of being the planner vs the bride would be really challenging. Ja'el made it easy bY firmly and kindly reminding me to go back to being present, and making our entire vision come true. Every single cent was worth it and beyond. Our day was actually perfect and I can't say enough about how amazing this team was!!!

Ja'el and her team were the best vendor decision we could have possibly made for our big day. This is not an exaggeration. We did not hire a full wedding planner, and Ja'el not only helped us figure out all of the things we didn't know we needed to plan for, she helped us organize every detail, communicate with our vendors and manage our own emotions in the months leading up to the wedding. We learned so much from Ja'el and how much it takes to truly pull of every detail of a wedding through working with her. Ja'el is a straight up pro. Her and her team allowed us to do the most important thing at our wedding - be present! Everything was executed so perfectly--from the little details like welcome signs to the big things like transportation from our ceremony to the venue--that my husband and I got to be in the moment for every minute of our wedding. Throughout the planning process, Ja'el was such a proactive and open communicator. We always felt we could ask her any question and even if she didn't know the answer (rarely, if at all) she helped us work to a solution. She communicated so well with all of our vendors and took so much of the weight that comes with planning a wedding, especially in the last few weeks leading up to it, completely off our shoulders. We had a very large wedding party, and Ja'el was able to manage personalities and volume to get everyone where they needed to go. Beyond her professionalism, Ja'el is an incredibly kind, warm and welcoming person. She cares about her clients and you can tell that she wants to help make your day as special as you always hoped it would be. I could not recommend The Coordinated Collective enough. If you are getting married in the DC area, no matter the venue, you need Ja'el and her team. My wedding may be over, but I know we'll keep in touch with Ja'el for years to come. THANK YOU Ja'el! Hiring Ja’el Mendez, The Coordinated Collective’s owner, to be our day-of coordinator was one of the best decisions that we made in planning our wedding. From responding quickly to emailed questions months beforehand to following up with a late vendor on the day-of, no detail went unaccounted for. Ja’el helped track of every aspect of our event and organized several video calls with us to talk through the schedule and answer questions. She assuaged all of our concerns and was always professional, calm, and a delight to interact with. We had a stress-free wedding day, largely thanks to her meticulous planning, and would recommend her to anyone.

When we started planning our wedding, we were on the fence about whether we needed to hire a day-of coordinator. We knew that we were having a fairly small wedding and that we weren’t going to use that many vendors, so it didn’t seem like it would be too much for us to handle day-of details like schedule management and tipping. But once we talked to Ja’el, we knew the Coordinated Collective was going to be a great investment to make sure our wedding ran smoothly and we actually got to enjoy our own party. During our first call, Ja’el took the time to get to know us and to help us think through some of the nuances that we didn’t know to ask about. We walked away with a great list of follow-ups and an understanding of what we needed to do immediately, and what we could hold off on for a bit longer. Once we signed on, Katie was assigned as our event lead. Where to even start - we can’t say enough good things about her. Katie really understood what we wanted for the day, and the worksheets and tracking tools she provided helped us focus on getting the right information, communicated day-of plans to vendors, and made sure that our wedding week was quiet so we could enjoy it with our families. She also helped us navigate vendor questions and even helped us have a successful rehearsal without giving away a fun surprise moment in the ceremony. Our wedding party all remarked on how fun she made the rehearsal. Day-of, Katie and Molly kept things running smoothly and gave us the space to really enjoy our celebration and our guests. We and our guests had a total blast at our wedding, and we absolutely could not have had the same event without the help of the Coordinated Collective.

If you are considering hiring The Coordinated Collective, do it! We worked with Ja'el and her team and they were AMAZING. Very professional and organized. Ja'el provided recommendations for other vendors, helped us when we felt stuck in the planning process, and always made sure that our wants/needs were the focus. We used Meredith from Coordinated Collective and she was absolutely wonderful as was the whole CC experience right from our first call with the owner Ja'el. She went the extra mile for us, and had our backs at every stage of the process. The actual day went perfectly and we were able to completely relax knowing that Meredith was at the helm. We worked with Meredith and her assistant coordinator Molly for our recent wedding at Glen Echo, and they were fantastic from start to finish. Meredith reached out about 3 months before our wedding and shared a bunch of useful planning tools, made sure we were on track with our planning schedule, and and kept an eye on us and our vendors as we got closer to the date. We have several calls with her leading up to the wedding to go through our checklists, and by the time the wedding weekend rolled around we felt very prepared with her help. Even though the Coordinated Collective is advertised as "day-of" coordination, they really do so much more than just that. During the wedding day Meredith kept our vendors and wedding party on track with amazing energy- even though it was a 90+ degree humid day. We had a few small hiccups that Meredith and Molly graciously swooped in to fix (and I'm sure many more moments where they put out fires before we even knew they were happening). We'd 100% recommend them for anyone who is looking for a little less than full-scale wedding planning, but wants to have someone to keep them on track leading up to and during the wedding! We truly couldn't have pulled off the day without them.

We met with Ja'el before the wedding and had a few phone calls with her that were incredibly helpful for our planning process. It is amazing how many unexpected things pop up on the day of the wedding and they handled it all with ease. Hiring The Coordinative Collective, specifically, Ja'el Mendez and Meredith Bell (30 days out from our 100 person wedding that we planned in roughly 3 months) was the BEST decision we made! Full stop. These women were professional, organized, and exceptionally kind in every single interaction I had with them. With such an absurd timeline and having not hired a wedding planner, I had a lot to figure out in 1 month. Not only did TCC offer management and logistical support with constructing timelines, walk through details and meetings, venue layout, vendor recommendations, etc. but they were an incredible source of emotional support and encouragement when I thought I wasn't going to be able to pull this thing off. When it came to day-of, we trusted Meredith to manage the day for us and she came through beyond what we expected or imagined. She elevated the mood and lightened our hearts when things felt stressful or heavy. She was decisive and directive when we needed her to be so. She was proactive with the schedule and communicating with our vendors so that we didn't have to, and thanks to her alone, we actually got to enjoy a full wedding meal. We know things went wrong but she just handled it with such grace. The day would have looked and felt very different without Meredith and team. We were taken care of by extremely genuine and competent professionals who know the DC wedding industry inside and out, and we cannot recommend them enough :)

Ja'el and her team are AMAZING! They went above and beyond for us on our wedding day and leading up to it. We have been working with Drew since before the pandemic and through our minimony and finally our postponed larger wedding party. We hired Coordinated Collective almost immediately at the beginning of our wedding planning and never regretted our decision. Katie, our coordinator, guided us through the complexities of wedding planning with ease using her extensive wedding industry knowledge. Our wedding was originally scheduled for April 2020 but by mid-March 2020 we had to cancel. Katie made sure that calm and order would prevail over this stressful time. We eventually re-scheduled to April 2021. The coordinator team on the day-of, Katie and Evin, made our day a celebration because they took care of all the final little details and we were able to be in the moment and celebrate. They were beyond organized, knew the schedule by heart, attended to any issues that occurred, and were sure to introduce themselves to our parents and ask if they needed anything. They provided excellent service throughout the day. Highly recommend the Coordinated Collective!

Our wedding would not have been as memorable with The Coordinated Collective! Ten weeks before our large wedding celebration, COVID hit and we were forced to cancel our large celebration. After a few weeks of thinking, we decided we did not want to wait to be husband and wife. That is when I got in touch with Ja’el about planning a backyard micro-wedding in just four weeks! Ja’el was incredibly flexible and professional as she listened to our priorities and made some suggestions to make our day as special as possible under the circumstances. Before our wedding, she made herself available to consult on how we could do a small outdoor dinner set up (even gave suggestions for inexpensive table linens), created a timeline for us, and helped test our Zoom link and audio. On our wedding day, I was relaxed knowing Ja’el was handling almost all of our set up. This included setting up our outdoor dinner tables, dessert table, music, and Zoom feed. I truly did not have to lift a finger or answer any questions, and everything looked better than I imagined! I am so happy we asked Ja’el to help us with our wedding; knowing all our details were taken care of allowed us to really absorb the entire day and enjoy the love of our guests. Thank you Ja’el for the support and making our day extra special.

Ja’el is a powerhouse! I am so thankful I found her and that she was available to help with day of coordination. Going into the day, I knew I wanted someone to be there to troubleshoot any issues that came up, but she was so much more. She came to all our meetings beforehand, led our rehearsal, did walkthroughs, was totally present and supportive leading up to the event. She helped me think through my budget and find ways to not splurge on every detail. She helped make sure my DIY decor was set up and ready too! She uses AllSeated to make sure entrees, guests, attendance, set up, and equipment is done correctly. It also has a function that you can think through distancing for Covid, which I found super helpful. Ja’el is really good on this front too, she and Evin were always masked and helped make sure the other vendors were too. She has a master excel with timelines and details about everything needed for the event. By the time the event is here, she is totally in sync with you and helps all vendors to make sure the event is flawless. At the event itself, she brings a calm, orderly, and structured approach to making sure everything goes smoothly. She was by far the best choice I made about my wedding. I’d recommend her and her team to any and everyone.

Ja’el was helpful, covered all our bases, and made sure our day was smooth sailing while we relaxed and took in the joys of our wedding day! When my then-fiance and I decided on a brunch wedding, I insisted that we hire a day-of coordinator. When you have to fit in hair, makeup, ceremony, photos, and a brunch reception all before 1pm, there is not time to run that show yourself. Everything ran like clockwork, and my guests remarked on how flawless everything was. If there was a glitch on my big day, I had no idea! My coordinator, Ja'el, did so much more than the day-of logistics. Our work together started weeks in advance as she helped me wrangle the vendors, coordinated the site visit, and came up with creative solutions to the little things that pop up as you personalize your event. And when I got seriously sick a few weeks before the wedding, Ja'el made sure everything kept moving in the right direction. Hiring her was the single best decision we made!

I can’t remember who told me the best money I would spend would be on a Day-Of Coordinator and they were RIGHT. I found The Coordinated Collective (TCC) after doing a search on The Knot and reaching out to a few different companies. Before I get into the details let me just say that my wedding day was PERFECT. I mean, I literally don’t have one regret about how anything turned out. Everything went off without a hitch. Nothing went wrong at all. Nothing. It was a dream come true! And TCC had everything to do with that. I was planning this September 1st, Washington, DC wedding from Idaho and there were a lot of logistics. We had 111 guests, our wedding was at a church in DC, and our reception was on an Army base in Virginia (Fort Myer). I selected TCC after an informative phone call with Ja’el. Makenzie was assigned to be our coordinator, and Jasmine to assist her on the day of. Having two people was crucial for us with the two locations. My fiancé and I had a conference call with Makenzie in May where we went over a ton of questions. I went to DC in June and Makenzie and I met for drinks in Dupont. Had a blast together and talked about a ton more wedding stuff. As I have never been married before and was planning much of this myself, I had a ton of newbie questions that she was so helpful with. She left me no doubt that she was more than capable of running my day! Makenzie was super available in advance of the wedding. She encouraged me to loop her in on everything – all my communications with all the vendors. I felt bad about that at first because she was the Day-Of Coordinator, not my wedding planner! She was available by phone, text, email, and super responsive. She stepped in when necessary (ie., non-responsive vendors) and went to do a site visit at the Army base. There were a lot more logistics than a traditional wedding doing the reception at the base – every single one of our guests had to pass a background check and we had to hire buses to transport everyone back and forth, among other things. Makenzie ran the wedding rehearsal the day before and was at the church on the day of (Jasmine was at the reception location getting everything going over there). They made sure that we didn’t have to worry about one single thing. Not only was everything taken care of, but they also went out of their way to make sure that we felt calm, comfortable, happy, and protected. Once we made it over to Fort Myer, Jasmine had already made sure everyone made it to the cocktail hour and was having fun. They coordinated with all the vendors to make sure everything was ready to go! They helped to run everything the whole night long and helped to shut it all down when it was over, including passing out the beautiful centerpieces to the guests, and making sure we didn’t leave anything behind. Anyway, I could go on and on, but the upshot is this is literally the best money you will spend with regard to your wedding. You can’t go wrong with this decision, I promise!

A friend referred Smith and Co. as a vendor for my wedding. I was unsure how this would work because my wedding was in California and they are based in DC. The time difference alone I thought would be a huge hurdle. Jasmine was absolutely accommodating to my schedule and the time difference. Communication with Jasmine was absolutely a breeze. She was warm, conscientious and diligent. It is unusual that you find someone who can work with people and have the level of leadership that Jasmine shows. The wedding day, I saw Jasmine several times and each time I saw her I knew things were being handle. Several unexpected things happened and she had plans for everything. Jasmine was phenomenal. I would get married again to have her be my day of coordinator. The phone consultations were super helpful. She had a way of presenting what needed to be done in a way that did not overwhelm because she assured me that she would help bring my vision (or lack thereof) to fruition.

I can't say enough how PHENOMENAL Jasmine was at our NYE wedding! My wife and I didn't think that we would need a day of until we started thinking about all the moving parts happening during the most important day of our lives. We met with Jasmine and she helped make our day run so smooth and even arrived to the venue for rehearsal early enough to familiarize herself with the venue. We decided not to do a first look so the little moments leading up to the ceremony were stressful and filled with anxiety but knowing Jasmine was there to take control was incredible. Jasmine went above and beyond to make sure we were able to relax and enjoy the night. Our family, wedding party, and even the other vendors went on about how great she was to work with.
