We loved The Cotton Company! Marissa was great to work with and everything was very laid back, but professional. The venue was absolutely beautiful & the staff did a great job transforming the area from perfect ceremony decor to beautiful reception decor. The downstairs was also used for a happy hour in-between the ceremony and reception and all of the guests loved it! Thank you!
This was the cheapest venue I could find, and since we were on a very tight budget, that was one of our top concerns. We used it for both the ceremony and reception. They provided the chairs and told s we'd need to rent tables and linens because they only had two 8' long rectangular tables for our use. We ended up renting eight more of them, only to get there to unload them and see that there were TEN tables! I was pretty angry that I spent the money to rent tables that they already had there. Other than that, it was a pretty good experience. Nice backdrop for photos. Wish we could have brought our own alcohol, since we couldn't afford a caterer or the alcohol through the venue, that wasn't an option.
Provided the feel that we wanted for our wedding reception. We changed the lights out and it looked awesome! Good size for our number of guests (120)
Quaint, rustic feel even though it can seat a lot of folks. Our pictures came out beautiful against the brick and the lights. Beth is wonderful to work with. We had a free wine tasting to find just the right wine for our event.
My wedding, on July 23, 2011, was at the Cotton Company. The space was wonderful. Everyone loved the reception! Everyone was very helpful, and the night when on with no problems! I'd reccommend it to anyone!
The director of the cotton company changed half way through my working with them. Despite that, the continuity of service I received was ver good. There way a little bit of confusion with tables and the number ordered, but overall I really enjoyed this venue. The staff was great to work with, the price was right, and they included tables, chairs, and linens. It was a good deal and the historic look of the venue left little to be desired. We really didn't have to decorate much at all because the brick was so lovely and easy to work with.
I worked with Amanda at the Cotton Company for about 7 months, and she was very detail oriented! She made spreadsheets of the floor plan and all my rentals, and she constantly updated them each time I made a change.
At first, I was a bride who didn't really know what I wanted, so she showed me lots of different ideas. I had the tables, chairs, dance floor, and draping over the dance floor all included in my package. All the rentals came from CE rentals which was the same place my caterer used. It was perfect because I also wanted to rent a cake platter, so I called CE rentals and they just included it into my package at the Cotton Company.
Amanda will call all your vendors a few days before the event to ensure they have all the information they need, and to find out when they will be coming.
The only down side was you have to purchase all the beer and wine through the Venue. I would have rather purchased it on my own. It was a very easy process though.
Overall, I say the Cotton Company was more than I expected. When you first walk in, it looks so empty, but once you add all the decor, the place is stunning! I had so many comments on how beautiful my reception was.
We loved having our ceremony and reception at The Cotton Company! This is perfect if you are having a smaller wedding, under 100. The room is set-up in a way that allows portions to be screened off. There is plenty of room for a dance floor and the kitchen area is huge. They provide lights that are pre-lit and wrapped around the beams in the room. The event planner was more than helpful, responded quickly and was eager to help and answer all our questions.
If you have booked this location, they offer free wine tastings once a month to help you make an informed decision when creating you wine list. We had an evening wedding and parking seemed to be more than enough.
The few downfalls were the bathroom is shared with a restuarant next door. We didn't run into any problems with this.
You have to purchase all alcohol through the vendor, which doesnt allow you to shop around for the best price.
And the dressing room is very small. You basically need to have the wedding party dresses ahead of time. Not much room for more than the bride and one or two others.
