If I could give zero stars, I would.
My wedding at Crystal Ballroom Beach Place was supposed to be one of the most joyful and memorable days of my life, but the venue's unprofessionalism and disorganization created a number of unnecessary and inexcusable issues. Despite sending several detailed formal complaints, I have yet to receive any response. The complete lack of accountability and customer service is appalling.
Since they want to ignore me, I will leave my very detailed complaint here:
* Despite being promised both a banquet captain and a day-of coordinator, we received one individual attempting to handle both roles. This change was communicated at the rehearsal, leaving no time for adjustments, insufficiency, and causing significant disorganization.
* Throughout the planning process, we were introduced to three different day-of coordinators. While Mushi was excellent, Andie was unresponsive, failed to send follow-up emails, and ignored specific requests. Gus, who handled the day-of, was underprepared, misinformed, and unable to manage the execution effectively.
* The day-of event coordinator was responsible for creating and implementing a timeline for the wedding day, as outlined in the contract. However, this was completely neglected, forcing me to create the timeline myself and disseminate the information to the coordinator and others during the week of the wedding.
* After our grand entrance into the reception, Gus was noticeably absent and did not manage the first dance, parent dances, or other critical elements as outlined in the invoice, quote, and contract. He only reappeared when it was time to introduce a surprise performance as dancing began and then again when it was time for the send-off.
* The memorial table was improperly set up in the ceremony space, despite clear instructions to place it solely in the reception area.
* The cocktail hour, explicitly requested to be held on the patio, was ignored. It began in the ceremony space until we intervened, and even then, the patio lacked tables, seating, and decor. This was especially disappointing as we specifically chose this venue and ceremony time to provide our guests with a beautiful sunset view of the ocean during cocktail hour.
* The seating chart was mismanaged, with the sign placed incorrectly, tables assigned improperly, and redundant table numbers displayed despite instructions to use only the ones we designed. The bride had to personally point this out to Gus.
* The processional order of our bridal and groom parties was rearranged without our consent, causing confusion and undermining the carefully planned flow of the ceremony.
* The welcome sign was not placed at the ceremony entrance table. Instead, the gift card box was incorrectly placed there and not at the designated reception table, as instructed. The bride had to personally point this out to Gus.
* Décor lacked the vibrancy we discussed and agreed upon during the planning process. We were never shown an example of the centerpieces, and the result did not align with our vision.
* The lighting in the reception room, meant to be burnt orange, required multiple corrections during the event despite prior instructions.
* The dessert station still had dinner chafing pans on it when it was time for dessert, directly violating Addendum - Food Manager Policy: Section 4(n) of the contract, which requires the dinner buffet to be broken down promptly after service.
* The dancing on the cloud effect malfunctioned during our first dance, and the sparklers did not go off at the correct time. These moments, meant to be highlights, were ruined.
* Guests were not properly directed to the bubble send-off area, leaving no one gathered at the correct location for the send-off at the staircase. They were also inappropriately asked to return their bubble favors after the send-off, a request we never authorized.
* Bar inventory was not fully accounted for, with missing open and unopened bottles despite instructions for their return.
* Décor items were returned damaged, and many extra wedding favors remain unreturned.
* We were forced to make multiple trips to the venue to retrieve items that should have been returned in a timely manner after the event.
These issues weren't minor. They were the result of negligence, poor planning, and clear disregard for a paying client. And to make matters worse, after expressing my concerns professionally and clearly in a written complaint, I received no response. Not even an acknowledgment.
I would strongly caution any couple considering this venue. The space may look beautiful, but behind the scenes is a team that does not operate with care, communication, or integrity. Once they have your money, the service stops.
Save yourself the stress, the heartbreak, and the disappointment. Choose a venue that not only delivers but also respects and values the trust you place in them.
DUMPSTER FIRE! I attended a wedding at this venue over the weekend and it was a disaster to say the least. Wedding was scheduled to start at 6:30. When my wife and I arrived around 6:15 the bridal party and guests were outside the venue, informing guests that there was no power in the facility. Most of the guests, including the bride, made their way to Hooters to wait and see what would happen. After about 45 minutes they invited guests to the terrace for cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. After about 45-60 min of baking in the Florida sun, they invited us inside for the ceremony, where there was no power. With some candles and small fans, guests were left to endure a full wedding ceremony with no air conditioning in the Florida summer heat. Upon completion of the ceremony, guests were advised that the reception was being moved to their second location. Upon arrival, it took them 30 minutes to set up the bar and there were no table assignments to say the least. It was an absolute abomination. To add insult to injury, the venue did not refund any of the money to the couple for ruining their special day. I understand things happen, but for a venue of that size, precautions could have been in place to avoid this, like having back up generators. I've read some great reviews, but what I experienced was vastly different. I'd be weary if considering this venue for your special day.
What can I say about the Crystal Ballroom BeachPlace.. Our personal experience with them, absolutely AMAZING. I wouldn’t trade the team that I worked with for anything: Andie, Luna, Robert, Yonce ;), Keke, Mike.. we love all of you! From day 1, Andie and Luna told me they were there to make sure I didn’t stress and although I was nervous leading up to the day, our day was absolutely AMAZING. Only downfall was that it was a bit hot but I also had almost 200 guest! Everyone that attended is calling this the best wedding they’ve ever been to, everyone that wasn’t there wish they were! My girl Luna even came on her day off to help us celebrate!!!! Keke.. those drinks, you had the guest on their a** and all they could talk about was “the blue drink”! When we ran late, it took Andie no time to get us back on schedule!! And Robert and Yonce, my decor was EVERYTHING. Safe to say, Crystal BallRoom owes me nothing but a new voice! I love you guys, everything was BETTER than I could have even imagined !!!!
Our wedding was on April 23rd, 2022.
My husband and I fell in love with Crystal Ballroom on our very 1st tour. Luna never made us feel like customers. She honestly made us feel as if this location was made personally for us. Nothing but professionalism and family vibes. I love her.
Our coordinator Mike was absolutely amazing. Weeks inching closer to our day, he made sure to keep the lines of communication open and helped us thru every single detail.
Our guests ran behind due to traffic so it set our time back a little bit. Mike literally helped me keep my sanity. His calm and understanding demeanor helped me relax and it was smooth sailing all night.
The only minor detail that we ran into was that (Bryan) the original decorator that we were working with for months suddenly wasn't there. So some of the more personalized details that we reviewed with him got lost in the transition to the new decorator. No harm done, because the new decorator was still amazing.
I got married at the Crystal Ballroom and it was the best decision ever! Ai'esha, Oscar, Alberto, Sergio, and the rest of the Crystal Ballroom team went above and beyond to ensure our day was PERFECT-- and it was. Everyone can not stop ranting and raving about how beautiful and CLEAN everything was. The team not only answered my 10000 calls, but they made sure that we felt comfortable every step of the way, while ensuring we were staying in budget. Ai'esha was my day of event coordinator, and she was amazing!! Thank you team from the bottom of my heart!
Crystal Ballroom is the most fantastic place! After finding this venue on a whim and booking right away I was super excited! Once I saw this venue and met Alberto I knew there wasn’t anywhere else I would get married. Actually until I saw this venue I wasn’t even excited to start planning because planning can be soooo stressful! I will say that anyone who has not had a good experience was probably not organized themselves or with their outside vendors. Prior to our wedding we had 5 separate meetings for vendors, timelines, day of event coordinator etc. With the help of the CB Team my day was stress free! The crystal ballroom team is more than amazing! They always welcomed me to come by with any vendors , officiant etc! Working with them was the best experience of all! Thank you to Sergio, Raquel, Mike and of course our Dear Alberto for making our day extra fun and fantastic. Love you guys! We will definitely be back to renew our vows!
I had the pleasure of having my wedding at Crystal Ballroom Beach Place & I am so happy I chose that venue for my wedding. I booked my wedding date while the venue was under construction but after Alberto told me his vision for the venue for some reason, I just trusted him & I’m so happy I did. Not only was the venue stunning but the service was perfect! Alberto answered every call & responded to every text through out the planning process. I definitely recommend this venue!
Crystal ballroom beach place was heaven sent. We took the leap of faith to book with them, before construction was done and it was the best decision ever. The venue is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen and you get beautiful views of Fort Lauderdale beach from their balcony which we used for our cocktail hour. The ceremony ballroom and reception ballroom is jaw dropping and our guests could not stop talking about it. You will not be disappointed and anything is possible they will cater to your every need. Thank you crystal ballroom for helping to create our dream wedding, it was truly the best day ever.
Alberto and his team at Crystal Ballroom Beach Place we’re a dream to work with. We booked this venue a year ago, when the venue was still a blueprint- literally not even constructed yet. I just had a feeling that Alberto would get everything done in time, as he had such a great attitude about it. Sure enough, they held their grand opening the week before our wedding!
We couldn’t have been luckier than to find Berto- this venue provides the option for brides to bring in their own outside vendors, which helped us immensely cut down on wedding costs. Berto and his team provided the beautiful, brand new wedding ceremony and reception space as well as amazing decor (including flowers!). This venue is also beach front- with beautiful views of the Fort Lauderdale beach from a balcony 3 stories up!
Alberto has such an eye for design, he created for us such a glamorous and beautiful rustic wedding.
I HIGHLY recommend the Crystal Ballroom for your ceremony and reception needs. Berto will produce a Million dollar wedding for you, without the Million dollar price tag!
Absolutely beautiful location and a staff to match; professional, supportive and attentive. From your first meeting with Alberto to the day of your event, it's a stellar team to work with.
Where can I start.... Alberto and HIS TEAMS were AMAZING.... please understand that there AWESOMENESS has nothing to do with the venue but everything to do with Alberto and his team. I did not married at the Crystal Ballroom but Alberto gave me the Crystal Ballroom experience with his decor and his team. I am recommended all new brides to go see him and have faith in his abilities because it will WOW you.
I honestly couldn't be more happier with the service Alberto gave us he made me fall in love again and he is absolutely amazing and the price for such a beautiful venue is unbelievable!
