y expectations.
During the course of wedding planning, I had quite a few issues with the venue coordinators themselves. Throughout the year of planning, I had 4 different coordinators. First Nicole, she was FANTASTIC however she did end up leaving which we very much understand.
After Nicole, Whitney took over and she was also great however, she also ended up leaving TCC for personal reasons.
The next venue coordinator we had was Jena. Jena was nice and responsive however she did drop the ball during our food tasting. My husband and I drove 4 hours for this just to be told that she had forgot we were coming. Because of this we weren't able to taste the food we wanted to because the kitchen was not prepared. Jena ended up leaving and Nicole stepped in as interim venue coordinator.
The Currituck Club then found Raymond to step in. Raymond was kind when we did speak however, it was extremely hard to get him to respond to emails/phone calls. Especially two weeks before the wedding.
Once we got to the Currituck Club the day of the wedding, I found out that Raymond wasn't going to be on site at all. This was extremely disappointing to us as we expected him to be there and received no heads up that he would be absent. I then went to utilize the bridal suite to get ready however couldn't because the AC was not working. Apparently it had been broken for weeks but I was never once notified. We ended up using the upstairs lounge to get ready. There was also a tent set up next to the veranda for an event the day after my wedding which I was not made aware of until the day of my wedding. This was an eyesore and extremely disheartening after everything else that had already happened.
The only saving grace (other than my wedding coordinator, Bethany Allen) and the very reason why I am still giving TCC 3 stars was because of Keleia (F&B Manager) and the other F&B attendants. They were so kind and did a great job attending to all of the guests. All of my guests were RAVING about how attentive the servers/bartenders were. The food turned out excellent despite my hiccup with the food tasting. HUGE thank you to Keleia and her team as they truly went above and beyond.
All in all, F&B and the Venue itself was great. Too bad TCC cannot keep their event coordinators... or at least the good ones.

ney the Private Events Manager was a pleasure to work with! She was super helpful during the planning process all the way up to the day of the wedding. She made sure everything ran smoothly. We had the ceremony on the 7th hole of the golf course facing the sound side and the reception was at the clubhouse. Both locations were gorgeous. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. It was the perfect venue for our destination beach wedding!!

Nicole and her team made everything so simple for us, even as we moved our entire wedding with a 1-month notice!! They offered us all-inclusive food, drink, and even more decorations, like an arch for the ceremony and reception centerpieces!!

much! Even when we had to reschedule due to COVID-19, Nicole worked with us to look at our options. After rescheduling, The Currituck Club was accommodating and understanding when we needed to make even more changes. We did our wedding at the 7th hole (9/26/20). Our guests were amazed at how beautiful everything was. Not only were the views gorgeous, but the service was great. We both felt super confident that our day would be beautiful because of the competence of The Currituck Club staff. They really understood how much this day meant to us and made it so we wouldn't be concerned about anything on our big day. I definitely recommend booking!!

it possible. I think the only thing I wasn't thrilled about was that my vendors ate before me & my groom, therefore my photographer came and grabbed us to go do sunset photos before we got to eat. We came back to cold food. I don't really "fault" the venue for this though - it was just a scheduling thing and everything tends to fall into place in its own way during an event rather than on whatever schedule you set no matter how hard you try to keep things "on schedule." But overall, our experience with them was amazing. Hurricane Dorian created some damage to their roof just prior to our wedding, and they had things cleaned up as if nothing had happened by the end of the week when we were getting married! Nicole was out on the property hoofing it with the rest of the staff and my wedding planner - she really helped make everything come together! We really appreciated our experience with these guys and highly recommend them!

background made for the perfect ceremony. The reception was held under the veranda at the clubhouse and there were heaters available in case guests were chilly along with a fire pit outside. The food was absolutely delicious as well. My bridal party and I were able to get ready in the bridal suite which made it a fun morning of relaxation before it was time to go.
Liz was the BEST at helping with our wedding. She responded to all of my random questions very quickly and her and her team set up all of my decorations I brought for the reception exactly how I would have imagined. It's like she knew my vision and put it into action. It was extremely refreshing knowing she had everything under control so it would all go smoothly. Liz is a true rockstar! Best venue in the OBX for sure!

urrituck Club, we had to come and see it. This venue is absolutely gorgeous. We had our ceremony on the golf coarse near the water and it was everything i ever wanted. The reception was held near the club house under the open veranda and there was so much space and room to work with! My guests loved the flow of the wedding from having a trolly taken out to the ceremony site, to coming back to the clubhouse and up to the lounge with a fire place for the cocktail hour to the reception area covered (due to the cold weather in March). The whole staff from the coordinators Tarynn and Liz, to even the staff who helped with handing our cake out, the bartender, and the helpful people who cleaned up. Tarynn was amazing, she helped my husband and I every step of the way from setting up our tasting to any questions we could possibly think of. The food was exceptional as well! All of our guests who stated they had been to multiple weddings over the years said the food we served at our wedding from The Currituck Club was the best they had ever had! Beyond that, they were fun people - as was everyone else at the Club. It was a great experience. On the day of the wedding, everything was set-up beyond perfectly. We had brought a lot of decor and DIY ideas. They helped bring everything to life and took the pressure and anxiety off of my mom, my bridesmaids, and I. It was a great help! The food was delicious and we've received so many compliments. I had a vision in mind with lots of food stations and a whole dessert room. It came together perfectly, and Ashley really helped us figure out how to make that work while not blowing the budget. stions. Even when she was swamped with other weddings, she made us feel like we were a priority and not imposing on her duties. On the day of the event, there was a bit of rain, troublesome for a soundside ceremony. As a result, Ashley and her staff kept track of the radar and were able to make the call to delay the ceremony by 15 min, have a pre-ceremony cocktail reception, and then shuttle everyone out to the event site. IT worked flawlessly!!!
The other thing we noticed was that Ashley, and her staff, literally busted their butts the entire night for us, making sure our reception went off with out a hitch. They put out all of our decorations, set everything up, and tore everything down. We did doughnuts as our dessert and parting gifts, they even put together the small boxes we purchased for our guests (we had intended the guests to put them together themselves), and put doughnuts in the boxes! I've participated in many family weddings where the coordinator simply makes sure the main milestones occur on time and everyone is where they need to be. Ashley and her staff take it a bit further by actually helping with decor/teardown and keeping everything straight.
Its truly an above and beyond type of service that you won't find anywhere else.

somewhat stressful. She was very slow in returning calls and emails and I felt like I spent a lot of time tracking her down. The night of dessert was never served to my guests, and they were grabbing it on their way out the door to their shuttles. I had no idea. Overall though, the wedding was beautiful and the ceremony site breathtaking. They know what they are doing, but forget a lot that this is your first wedding and you don't know how they "usually do things". If I could do it again I would wish for way better communication from event coordinator.

The event coordinator was not proactive and could not be found most of the night. Even my family members complained that when this person was asked questions, they got a confused look or an answer of "I don't know" from them. We booked the Currituck Club with the understanding that an onsite coordinator was included but in terms of what we saw, it felt as if most of the evenings events were either directed by our minister, DJ or ourselves. Other than the poor event coordination, the venue was beautiful, layout was great and food was everything it was promised to be and more. We got more compliments on the venue itself and delicious food. Definitely worth the cost but do yourself a favor and have your own mistress of ceremonies or have a "go to" person to field questions and move your evenings events along.

, the service fell short. The wedding coordinator had promised to have an attendant at our guestbook table in order to assist with the photo guestbook. There was no attendant at the table and only about 5 people signed, after we paid a good amount of money for a portable printer and setup. Also, it was a very hot day, and even though our cake was inside, it began melting, and they were not prepared to deal with this issue. In addition, the food was somewhat cold when it was served to guests, which is odd because it was so hot outside! Otherwise it was a beautiful venue and they were efficient in serving drinks and arranging of payment for the bill at the end.

it was exactly what i had hoped for. the coordinator there is amazing. it was such a relief to work with someone who knew all the right questions to ask and who could make sure i was getting everything done that i needed to. i was able to drop off all my stuff earlier in the week with post-its for where everything should go, and on the day of, everything was exactly where i had wanted it. i really can't say enough great things about all the gals at the currituck club. they're the main reason i wasn't at all stressed in the week leading up to the wedding.
in addition to that great service, the food there was absolutely amazing. i wouldn't have changed a single thing in regards to the venue!
