Great location, spectacularly beautiful venue, unreal food.
I would give the Curtis Atrium negative 5 stars if possible. I have assisted with the planning of 5 weddings over the past 10 years. My most recent wedding was my daughters at the Ballroom at the Ben in Philadelphia. My oldest son was married at the Merion in Cinnaminson, NJ. (both top notch venues). I'm a former restaurateur and currently teach culinary arts at a vocational high school. I've never dealt with a wedding coordinator as unprofessional as Lisa. She does not return emails, and if she does the email is always late. My wife and I met with Lisa, my son, and fiancé on Saturday, May 29th. I don't even know where to begin. For $250 per head on a Saturday, you would think everything would be top of the line. Not so. Three beers are offered, one IPA, Yuengling Lager, and Michelob Ultra. I asked if we could add two beers and was told yes with an additional cost. I asked if we could switch two of the beers and was told yes at an additional cost. The bar for cocktail hour and the wedding is not the premium package. Again, for $250 per head a premium bar should be a given. Most of the men in our family drink Crown Royal and my son wanted a Crown Royal Manhattan as a signature cocktail. I asked if we could swap out the Seagram's 7, which is a very low end whiskey, to Crown Royal. Of course I could, at an additional cost. Cordials were not even listed. For cocktail hour, there are a measly 8 passed hors d oeuvres. I asked if we could add 2 more. Of course I could, at an additional cost. The selections for beef on the dinner had prime rib and filet mignon for an additional $10. Here we are at that $250 per head saga. The room for the reception is an additional $3500. Lisa told us the room is sometimes dark in November. For an additional $2500 we could upgrade the lighting. Lisa was unfriendly towards me with these simple requests and replied several times "Ill have to check with my people" All of the wedding coordinators I've dealt with over the years did not have to "check with their people". Lisa also spoke negatively about Finley Catering when I told her my daughter was married at The Ballroom at the Ben, which was truly AMAZING! (very unprofessional). I'm saving the best for last. My future daughter in law asked Lisa at least 3 or 4 times to keep a soft hold on the date. Upon departure, my wife asked if there was a soft hold on the date. Lisa responded like she didn't even know what a soft hold was. She then proceeded to inform us that there was no soft hold and if anyone were to put a deposit on the date we would lose the date. Not even a courtesy phone call or email would be given. Today is Wednesday, May 3rd, and still no contact from Lisa after meeting with "her people" We met with Lisa with the intent of paying a deposit to lock in the date. My daughter in law left in tears. The venue is absolutely beautiful. However, The Curtis really should look at how business should be professionally handled. For the prices they charge, everything should be top of the line and MINOR requests should be granted without "checking with my people!!
The Curtis Atrium was everything we could have wanted and more for our wedding day. We worked with Lisa and Jordan in coordinating our event, and they were wonderful to work with. After many (nitpicky bride) details and emails back and forth, everything looked better than I could have imagined the day-of. Lisa, Jordan, and the entire catering staff were incredible and highly professional. All of our guests commented on the delicious food as well as how attentive the staff was. Waitstaff serving tray passed dessert in the middle of the dance floor will be a moment we will remember for many years to come. Also, the bridal attendant for our event was phenomenal; I don't I went more than a minute without a food offering or a drink in my hand. We couldn't thank the Curtis staff enough for creating an unforgettable evening for us and all of our guests!
The Curtis Atrium did a fantastic job hosting our wedding. The venue looked absolutely gorgeous and everyone thought the food was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. It was delicious and beautifully plated to match our elegant event. The staff was extremely attentive, timely, and made sure that my husband and I were taken care of along with our immediate family and guests. Lisa and Jorden did a fabulous job of organizing everything and ensuring that the day went without a hitch. They were communicative and so helpful every step of the way! Thomas was also so kind and made sure that we had everything we needed! They are all truly rockstars and I am forever grateful for all of their help and expertise!
The Curtis was perfect for our day - all of the staff were incredibly helpful and professional, the food was AMAZING (Constellation Culinary), and our coordinator Amy was an absolute rockstar in not only helping us prep for the day, but assisting with making sure everything ran smoothly on the day itself. They were also super accommodating with everything involving Covid (allowing us to move our date a full year up no problem, information regarding the vaccine mandate, etc.). It's just such a beautiful location and we are so, so glad we picked this as our venue!
The Curtis Atrium is truly a unique venue in Philly. It's managed by Constellation Catering, and Amy and the rest of the Constellation team were all amazing to work with as we planned our wedding here. The food at our event was excellent and everything by the Constellation team was executed perfectly. Highly recommend this venue or any other venues managed by Constellation!
The Curtis Atrium is one of the most unique beautiful venues in Philly! We were looking for something more than just a traditional ballroom. The Curtis Atrium is such a cool beautiful space that we would highly recommend it. Constellation Catering is a top-notch cater and the food/service was so amazing. Amy from Constellation was so incredible to work with and helped us plan and execute such a wonderful day. Anytime I had a question Amy was quick to respond and very professional. The team had awesome ideas and had great servers to help us pull off such a great day. I was a little worried about having a wedding during COVID and wasn't sure if the service was going to be at the same level. This team blew away my expectations. Everyone was impressed with the food, service, and venue. The only small issue we kind of had was the space is an Atrium so we had some issues with echoing during the speeches, but our live band sounded amazing the entire night. I am sure there are ways to improve this. Most people didn't hear the echo, but anyone close to the person speaking did. This is probably something that could be fixed with the band speakers or work with the venue to figure out. Overall 5/5 amazing team and space. We had the best time and want to relive our wedding because it was so incredible and such a cool space.
ABSOLUTELY PERFECT. The Curtis Atrium made my wedding vision come to life. Everything about the say was so perfect. From the cocktail hour to the reception, everything was fabulous. Amy was my event planner and she was incredibly helpful and supportive throughout my entire journey. My guests raved about the venue, food, and cocktails. I would recommend the Curtis Atrium to all brides & grooms. The high ceiling and marble floors make for such an elegant wedding space. It was the most magical night and everything we have ever dreamed of. Thank you to Amy and Team!
Our wedding at The Curtis Atrium was stunning! We wanted to go with a more unique venue for our reception, and after looking at several venues throughout the city, we couldn't help but fall in love with the architectural beauty of the Atrium. We also loved the location in Old City, as it's a quick walk to several hotels and historic landmarks. Though we booked our wedding date before the renovations were complete, we had full confidence in the Constellation team and knew the space would look even better than before - and we were right! The bridal suite was so elegant and cozy and the perfect room for us to take a quiet moment to ourselves. The mezzanine level for cocktail hour is a beautiful, open space and offers awesome views of the main Atrium space. The Atrium itself is so impressive, and can easily accommodate 200+ guests with room to spare.
Leila, Alesia and Lauren were so kind and professional, and patient! I hit them with just about every possible question I could have asked, and they were always so prompt and thorough in their replies. The food and beverages were AMAZING and we loved that Constellation was so flexible in accommodating our guests dietary needs and helping us curate dishes and cocktails that aligned with our vision for our special day. The tasting experience was also a highlight of the planning process and was so much fun!
We couldn't have asked for a better venue to celebrate the start of our next chapter as husband & wife, and are so grateful to the Curtis and Constellation team for helping us make such magical memories!
We are still on cloud nine from our day and are so happy we chose the Curtis Atrium as our reception venue. The space itself is stunning, and paired with the experience and professionalism of the Constellation team, we were in good hands from the start.
We considered and toured quite a few venues in and around Philadelphia looking for a large space that could accommodate 200+ guests with lots of room for dancing. Knowing we wanted to get married in the summer, we were originally looking at outdoor tented venues but decided against it in case of rain or uncomfortable heat. The Atrium is beautifully sunlit with its glass ceiling, and with the greenery around the fountain, we felt like it was the perfect mix of outdoors brought in. We also knew we wouldn’t have to do too much in terms of decor -- you could add nothing to the space and it’d still be gorgeous. Even better is the location. It’s right alongside Independence Hall and across from Washington Square Park which was perfect for photos. There’s also a parking garage in the building and several great hotels within a short walking distance, making it easy to accommodate all the guests.
During the planning months, Leila, Lauren, and Gail from Constellation were always available to answer any questions we had – and we had a lot! We were the first wedding since the space was renovated and reopened under Constellation, and the team went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable each step of the way. All of our requests and needs were accommodated, and they also referred us to some excellent vendors which helped to bring the weekend together beautifully.
On the day of the wedding, the flow was absolutely seamless. The Constellation staff was a team of true professionals. Esther made sure we had some hors d'oeuvres and drinks in the bridal suite and would check in with us throughout the reception for anything we might need - we felt so honored to have such kind and personable people with us throughout the night. The food was incredible - we heard lots of comments about how it was the best wedding food guests ever had.
All in all, we could not have imagined a better team or venue.
