Cypress Inn was a beautiful wedding venue! The staff was nothing short of nice and very helpful. They helped make sure our wedding was beautiful and everyone had a good time! We were very pleased with Cypress Inn as our venue! Thanks!!
Cypress Inn owned a venue called The Loft that we used for our reception location. My husband and I were in love with it. It was the perfect size and was already beautiful without decorations. I would suggest this venue to anyone I know.
We had our ceremony and reception inside at the Cypress Inn Pavilion. Though the rumors that event managers come and go proved to be true, we didn't have any issues scheduling and executing our event. The Pavilion is an awesome place to have an indoor/outdoor wedding because we could wait til the day before to make the rain call. Even though it ended up being inside, our ceremony was beautiful and there is plenty of covered patio to have a cocktail hour if it is rainy.
Angie, our event manager took care of opening doors, setting up tables and fixing our dinners the day of. She was also there during our rehearsal the night before to answer questions.
The only issue with our event was a water spicket that people kept leaving down causing all the water to puddle on the floor. Ask Cypress to use a different water holder because the iced tea spickets stop when you let go (the water one wasnt broken, but tipsy guests didnt know to flip it back up).
Other than that the event was a complete success and if you decide to get married at the Pavilion yours will be too!
The pavilion is gorgeous but the staff and owner are very unprofessional. If you want organization and to feel like everything is going to go as planned then I DO NOT recommend this venue.
Cypress Inn was the perfect place for our reception. The pavilion had great space, and is absolutely gorgeous. Our experiences with the staff, however, were questionable. Someone at Cypress Inn smeared our groom's cake the day before the wedding after it was dropped off and didn't tell anyone that something had happened to it. Luckily we dropped by and Edgar's Bakery performed emergency surgery on it. Also, it felt like we talked to about 6 different coordinators from Cypress Inn. We only had a 6 month engagement so we really didn't expect to have to get so many people up to speed on our plans. Our week-of meetings with the staff were very long because no one person could tell us what was planned for the table set up, the food, the sound system, etc. During the reception things went relatively smoothly. Cypress Inn staff served the glasses of champagne 30 minutes before the toasts were scheduled so everyone was out of champagne by the time we had our toasts. And the prices for the alcohol were very, very expensive. The "wedding markup" was most evident at Cypress Inn of all our vendors. Ultimately, we had a good reception, but Cypress Inn made it exceptionally difficult.
My husband and I had the pavilion booked for exactly one year. In that time we worked with 3 coordinators due to turn over. We had never spoken to the 4th coordinator that was actually on premises. The 3rd was the worst, she replaced the 2nd just 2 weeks before our wedding, didn't return calls or emails. She emailed me the night before my wedding about table placement. When we arrived at our reception nothing was right; our guests were supposed to be welcomed with a champagne toast, my groom and I were meant to be announced and walk in to a specific song. The dj was never cued so he scrambled for the song when we walked in. There was no champagne until I asked where it was. My guest book was still sealed in it's packaging on the table so no guest signed it. I had to coordinate the evening with the dj for first dance, cake cutting, etc. We had beautiful weather and the large doors were never pulled up to enjoy the breeze as they were supposed to be.
The pavilion is beautiful and the food was good. Our guests were none the wiser so we managed to have a great time but the management was pathetic.
Already one of our favorite restaurants to eat at, we had our wedding at the new Cypress Inn Pavilion which allows only their own catering on-site. Food was absolutely delicious! The coordinator was so helpful at getting the menu exactly how we wanted it. We even got to eat during the reception! Favorite dish: Grits bar served in martini glasses.
I was planning on doing the food myself because I did not want to pay an outrageous amount for food. However, Cypress Inn's prices were great and they were really great to work with!
The Loft was the perfect size for my reception of about 100. The exposed brick and ceilings were beautiful. We were able to have a band and dance floor. The views over downtown Tuscaloosa, which was decorated for Christmas, was beautiful. It was truly magical!
