The Devyn

Everything about The Devyn was absolutely incredible. When I first came across the venue, it was through the easy stress free planning packages they offered and their video introducing The Devyn. I was completely sold by how I could go through one single owner/company to get everything I needed. We work a lot, so this means a lot to my husband and I. Our wedding day was March 18, 2017 in the Carlisle room. Everything that I wanted for my wedding, I got. Carl took what I envisioned and made it come true. Everything was setup beautifully, way more than I imagined. The entire team was amazing. I would recommend and choose them a million times over again. We basically used all vendors they recommended. A lot of people do not understand what the purpose of their offerings are and why they have approved vendors, that has a lot to do with making sure that the vendors that are under their umbrella, have the same quality of service as they do, so that your day is completely stress free. They coordinate extremely well with all of their vendors, from the catering, dj, venue, decorations, bar, etc. Let's just say I'm overall a very, very happy customer. I had to change my wedding venue 2 WEEKS BEFORE my BIG day due to unpredictable weather (Hurricane Matthew) and The Devyn accepted us with open arms! They were so amazing to work with, the venue was absolutely beautiful and fit our theme just perfectly. The staff were absolutely amazing and everyone left with a smile on their face at the end of the night! The pricing for such a beautiful venue is something you just CANNOT beat! Highly recommend this venue!

If there is a zero I would have gladly put it. When we first inquired abot The Devyn we spoke with jennifer. Who was up front and honest. She left and made her own event company, now I understand why. After spending over 5,000 dollars coordinating with Carl Wise. Specific down to the floor plan. I paid multiple times with cards via email, including my mother who paid for the champagne 2.00 a person. 120 bucks. (Chanpange that was warm and that my uncle had to pour himself for all of the tables because they weren't set up yet) I get to the reception and there are short chairs so another table had to be rolled out with 4 extra chairs. (all emails, how many chairs and how many we needed is documented with photos for proof) then, I hear how my uncle sat up the bar and my entire room was set up wrong. I have pictures Carl emailed me of the layout we agreed on. Then photos of how it was actually sat up. Completely wrong. Days later he emailed me while I am my honeymoon asking how I am going to pay for the 10 extra chairs I used. I paid for 60 chairs, 8 tables of 7 = 56. And we needed 4. = 60. I already paid for warm champagne and my room to be completely off but now he is wanting to charge me more? Days later my mom called me saying Carl charged her card 160.50 without her authorization, or an invoice sent. That is a third degree felony. Carl later admitted via email that charging her card was wrong then refunded the balance. But continued to place the blame on others, such as the DJ who supposidly changed the layout at 4:30pm, when my mother arrived at 11:00am to set up centerpieces and the layout way still wrong, with pictures to prove. He still tries to charge my card every so often without my promission or signed autohorization. If you want a crook and a liar Carl is your guy and the Devyn are your people. Instead of taking responsibility for his actions he places the blame on everyone else. I should be getting some of my money back not paying him more.

The staff were extremely helpful with answering my many questions, and they worked with my timeline for the day-of set-up. The only downside was that we couldn't bring in an outside caterer who wasn't approved on their list. However, we did find an excellent caterer on that list.
