Absolutely beautiful venue for a wedding!! We held our wedding here in Sept 2022 and this venue - a 170-year-old Spanish-style mansion just outside of Queens - has the best combination of indoor and outdoor spaces to host your event. It has the most beautiful private garden with a water fountain for a ceremony of all the venues we looked at across multiple states. The venue also has an amazing patio overlooking a golf course and the NYC skyline that we used for cocktail hour, and delicious/plentiful food. Everyone at the manor - Claudia, Kathy, Carlos, Lisa - was incredibly nice and helped us set up and break down after the wedding. The staff was also accommodating to us bringing in our own desserts, which many venues we looked at did not allow. All of our guests raved about the venue's beauty and said the place was magical. Also, the location is phenomenal - half of our guests flew in for the wedding and the venue is a 15 min drive from both JFK and LaGuardia airports. 100/10 recommend this site for any special event you want to host.
We recently celebrated our wedding at Douglaston Manor and were so satisfied with choosing them to host our special day! From our first meetings with Claudia to the final month of preparations, the venue worked with us to host our event and for a very affordable price. The venue itself was decorated perfectly the day of our wedding and had a great mix of lighting through candles, twinkle lights, and natural sunlight. The tables were set up exactly how we wanted them and the dance floor was perfectly packed. The food at the manor was also cooked to perfection, most especially the cocktail hour that got rave reviews from everyone. The staff at the Manor were professional and accommodating. The patio space was perfect for our guests to get some fresh air and have a nice change of scenery. Thank you to everyone at the Manor for helping set up our perfect wedding!
We had our reception at Douglaston Manor and it was an incredible experience! On the day of our reception, the Manor was decorated for Christmas, which added to the overall beauty of the day. My guests all raved about how beautiful the Manor was. Lisa, the bridal attendant, was astounding; she was at me and my partner's side the whole time. During the planning process, I worked with Claudia and Cathy who were both always accommodating, flexible, and easy to get in touch with.
Working with the Manor overall was a wonderful experience! They did everything for us (cake, worked with vendors, food, drinks, etc). The value was also great, especially for the delicious food and beautiful space. x10/10, would recommend! I'll try to remember to post the professional photos too.
After 2 years of planning we were finally able to celebrate our Wedding at The Douglaston Manor on June 12. I must say, I am impressed at the level of service and care the staff showed me, my bridal party and guests. Everything went smoothly that day and I was able to have all the pictures I wanted and enjoy the reception. Kathy, Claudia, my Maitre'D, Jonathan and my bridal attendant, Lisa were amazing. I felt like a VIP! They went above and beyond to cater to my every need. My guests couldn't stop complimenting how great the food and service was. I can't thank them enough for all of the hard work and effort they put into my special day. I keep thinking about my Wedding day and how perfect it was. Thank you so much!
I had my daughter’s wedding in this beautiful paradise, it was delightful!!
The view was spectacular, the whole place just had a magical feeling of being with nature. Our guests had so many wonderful comments and had the opportunity to enjoy the spacious indoor area and the terrace with the green surroundings that created a picture-perfect wedding venue. We all felt so welcome in this romantic, classy Douglaston Manor. It will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Huge thank you to Carlos, Claudia & Lisa for all your hard work behind the scenes and helpful suggestions. They were attentive to every detail. The staff was extremely accommodating and friendly. The food was delicious.
All the contributors were fantastic.
Honestly, I would recommend this excellent venue for weddings and events from the bottom of my heart. It was an experience you would expect from Long Island/Up State NY but located in Queens...lovely memories.

UPDATE: We finally had our wedding on 3/27/22 and it was magical! The Douglaston team did everything they could to make our wedding day go smoothly and exactly how we wanted it. Carlos was our maitre-D and just so on it and had the best attitude. Lisa was my bridal attendant and she was amazing not just at taking care of me and my husband, but also looking after our parents, as well—making sure we were doing well, eating, drinking and looking our best at all times.
The food was amazing. So many guests came up to us to rave about the food from the cocktail hour, to dinner, to the Viennese table (it was not just 1 table by the way) which was a huge hit!
This venue and staff were absolutely perfect!
ORIGINAL POST: We postponed our wedding that was to occur in early April 2020 due to the pandemic. Though we're saddened to put our plans on hold, we are glad that we can have our event when it is safe to do so. Claudia and Kathy have been very helpful to us, and we've been able to postpone several times to find a date we feel comfortable with without any limitations from the Douglaston. We went in recently to update our date, and seeing the beautiful venue again (almost a year after our original date) was so helpful to me as I keep dreaming of our wedding day that I know will be a beautiful day when it comes.
They wont return our $5000 for a wedding next year during a PANDEMIC! Its our money and its not our fault we can't hold the event. Find an honest place with reasonable people.
Great venue! High attention to detail and great communication. I loved how our wedding turned out, it was a wonderful experience.
Douglaston Manor truly made our wedding day even more magical than we even expected. Anthony and his team truly listened to every detail, very accommodating, and made the day flow seamlessly. We had a lot of raving reviews from our guests about the atmosphere, the views and most importantly the amazing food! Thank you for making our wedding the best day of our lives.
This venue is gay-friendly which made it even better!
Douglaston Manor was the first venue we toured, and though we toured several other venues in Queens before making our final decision, Douglaston Manor was the obvious choice from the beginning. Our banquet manager, Ken, was charming and easy to talk to, but we never felt like he was pressuring us or trying to upsell us. He made the entire process incredibly easy, and we felt taken care of. Wedding planning is stressful, and it was great that DM includes so much, including great catering, the cake, linens, and day of coordination. The ballroom's rustic charm has much more character than a standard catering hall, and the outdoor ceremony space is totally beautiful. We were also impressed with how much food and alcohol were included for the price, much better than many venues in the area.
The planning process was so easy that we knew the wedding would be great, but on the day of Douglaston Manor completely exceeded our expectations. The food was even better than we expected, the room was beautiful, and the maitre d (Carlos) and bridal attendant looked after every detail. Our bridal attendant made sure we always had food on our plates and a fresh drink and made sure to run interference with guests so we were able to have some time together to just enjoy our wedding.
All of our guests told us it was one of the best weddings they had ever been to (and we agree!). We are so glad we chose Douglaston Manor. The staff worked so hard to make our day as special as possible.
I was married at The Douglaston in 2016. Shame on me for failing to leave a review sooner, but it's never too late. My experience was Wonderful! Kathy was so kind and helpful. I was absolutely mesmerized by the beauty of the manor the first day I came for a tour. My then fiance and I took one look at each other and knew The Douglaston was THE one. Honestly, it was the first place we visited after I had narrowed down a list from in-depth online research. I made a list of 5 places but after seeing the Douglaston, the other 4 were no longer on the list. We live in Queens and found it to be close to home and a perfect location for our guests both from in and out of town. In addition, the beauty of the manor, we loved the beauty and safe feeling of the surrounding neighborhood. Though we had an unfortunate mishap with our wedding cake the day of our wedding, the staff handled it gracefully and made up for it to our satisfaction. I highly recommend this venue!
Had engagement party at the Douglaston Manor. Pretty venue, delicious food, attentive staff made the party a big success.
Have no words to describe how amazing and special this place is! Kathy made our wedding an absolute dream and we couldn't be happier. Every single moment was planned out and I literally did not have to worry about a thing. The service was amazing from my personal bridal attendant to the matire' d and even servers. Everyone was impeccable. Not to mention my vision and look for everything was exactly what I wanted. This place is so special and you will not be sorry having ANY event here :)
Our experience with the Douglaston Manor was an actual dream come true! From the moment we walked in to see the Manor, Kathy, our wedding coordinator, was wonderful. Relaxed, sweet, and so caring about us and what we wanted, she never made us feel pressured or nervous and gently made suggestions which ended up making our night even better than we could have hoped.
Working with Carlos our Maitre D and Michelle my Bridal Attendant was a blessing. Michelle was so attentive and helpful. Within minutes of meeting her, I felt like I was spending time with a good friend. She was so funny, kept me calm and literally did anything and everything I needed- most of the time without me having to ask her. The same could be said for Carlos. Just to give a small example, my fake eyelash starting come off a tiny bit. Without any eyelash glue on us, I was nervous about how we would fix the issue but The Manor proved how above and beyond they'd go when Carlos, unpromoted and unknown to me at the time, went out and brought me eyelash glue! It was a small gesture but it went a long way and showed me how devoted the Manor is to their clients. Michelle made sure he knew exactly what to get and she helped me fix it when he came back (which was unbelievably quick as well) . Carlos was fantastic at keeping my group organized and making sure the ceremony was perfect. We are so grateful to both of them.
Aside from their exceptional service, the staff at the manor was outstanding- every room was impeccably decorated and arranged exactly as we had hope, all of the items we had brought with us for various aspects of the night were set up perfectly without instruction and the attention to detail was second to none.
The food. I am biased seeing as it was my own wedding, but the food was incredible from start to finish. The cocktail hour sampling that Michelle left from my husband and I including EVERYTHING being served downstairs and was presented beautifully- time was clearly taken to make sure we were able to try the food but also have it presented to us in a really special way. Kathy had suggested we try an "off-menu" item, braised beef in a red wine sauce, and no surprise, it was easily the best tasting wedding dinner item I've had at any wedding.
There are so many things that go into making a wedding day perfect and that means there are so many things that are easy to stress over. Not once during the planning process or on the big day did I ever feel worried or concerned. Everybody communicated clearly, checked and double checked things and did everything possible to ensure everything was perfect- not just great, but genuinely perfect. Oh, and the cost was VERY reasonable. Kathy worked with us every step of the way to accommodate our budget while making sure the elements we wanted were included.
We are looking forward to going back to the manor for future celebrations and feel so thankful to have been treated so well. They made our day everything we ever could have hoped for!
The venue was great! The food delicious my guest were happy with the staff. Lisa and Carlos were wonderful and took care of all our needs. Claudia was the best she made me feel like family. Thank you all for making me feel like a princess!
I can’t tell you how wonderful everything turned out. They treated us like family!! Lisa made sure I had everything I needed. She took such good care of me and my bridal party. Carlos was the best and made sure everyone and everything was on point. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was great!! I felt like a princess!!!
I had my wedding here on 6/29/18! Kathy was our banquet manager and she was so helpful and patient throughout the process. All of our 200 guests were so impressed with the gorgeous outdoor ceremony, beautiful golf course and Manhattan views during the cocktail hour and elegant reception room. All 200 guests raved about the food and practically licked their plates clean! Carlos made sure everything went smoothly throughout the night and checked in with us often to make sure everything was exactly how we wanted it. Liza, the bridal attendant, made sure we had the best spots on the golf course for pictures, made sure my husband and I ate throughout the night and made sure we always had a fresh drink in our hands. Overall, I am so extremely pleased with my experience with Douglaston Manor. It was a night to remember!
Remember these 3 names:
Carlos - Banquet Manager
Jonathan- Maitre d’
Lisa- Bridal Attendant
My wedding was held at Douglaston April 13th, Friday.
Over a year ago I fell in love with this place for its natural beauty, warm ambience and stately interiors. I had a different banquet manager at the time who I thought was good. He wasn’t and like a bad dream he went away. In comes Carlos—my new banquet manager to the rescue. He was just Fantastic! Patient, willing to work with us to make our wedding special, helpful, thoughtful and rescourceful. He was on our side!! That meant a lot and it paid off big time!
All my concerns and worries fell away during my wedding. I was in excellent hands!
Jonathan- Maitre d’ was very capable, address any issues and made sure things moved along smoothly. Whatever I needed or wanted he was there to make sure it got done!
Lisa— Bridal Attendant. Whoa...I read the reviews but I was totally blow away by your expert care and total attention. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for me ...no matter how small or silly...she got it done. She basically took care of me....fed me , make sure I was hydrated , even changed my shoes...several times.
You guys genuinely love what you do and totally work well together and it shows!
Had major compliments with this venue, on your staff , on the food and how well things went.
Thank you for the bottom of my happy heart for all that you did for our Wedding Day!
I really, really like you guys and enjoyed the time spent with you! Thanks for the laughs and for your expert care!!! The place is amazing , the food is very good but its the people that really make it shine. That is what you three are....shining STARS!!!!!
When I started planning our wedding I agonized for days and weeks over where we could have our wedding reception. I'll admit at first I wasn't sold on Douglaston Manor, but once we went to meet with their staff we were completely confident! First of all we worked with Anthony who was awesome. He was worked with us every step of the way, and was beyond accommodating. Any time I had a question or concern I could email him and he was very prompt in getting back to me. You really can tell he isn't about making the commission, he really is there to help you have the event you want to have. Second, the price could not be beat. I don't like talking money in detail, but this was worth every penny, and was quite reasonable for a venue in the NYC area. I also greatly appreciated that there were no last minute tack on's to rack up the bill (no extra "administration fee" or valet parking fee, it was all included with base price).
I waited to write this review until after our wedding, I wanted to be able to write about the day of as well. The food all night was BEYOND amazing! I greatly enjoyed everything I ate (and I did get to eat at my own wedding!), and everyone I've spoken to has been raving about the food since then. Our Bridal attendant Lisa was a GOD SEND. She was amazing. She was with us all night. I told her when we arrived that I wanted to get pictures done as quickly as possible (it was snowing and I wanted to enjoy our cocktail hour!) and I basically already knew where I wanted to do our photos. She got us and the photographers everywhere we wanted to go, kept us on time, reapplied my lipstick throughout the night, and most importantly kept us hydrated! When we got to cocktail hour someone stepped on my dress and ripped the hem off! Lisa had made one plate, she literally took me just outside, grabbed some pins, reassured me, and temporarily fixed my dress while I ate my plate of cocktail hour food and you wouldn't have known once she finished that anything happened. She made sure we were fed and had drinks at all times. She also made sure we had ten minutes to ourselves before we made our official entrance to the reception. I could not have been more thankful for that. She also fixed all of the guys in our wedding party (including my husbands!) pocket squares and boutonnières.
At the end of the night Lisa and our Maitre D (Carlos, who was also great) made sure we had all of our things packed up, loaded us up with all of our leftover wedding cake and all our things into the Lyft we got.
From start to finish our experience was amazing with everyone at Douglaston Manor. My only regret is that we can't get married again and have this party all over again! However we will definitely still be coming back when possible for any other big events we can have!
Our wedding was absolutely amazing. I cannot thank Carlos enough for everything leading up to our day and the day of. Carlos, your attention, love and care will be forever remembered. From ensuring everything was perfect for me prior to my big day to having everything perfect the day of. I could not have been happier. Lisa, thank you for being an amazing bridal attendant. The day could have not gone so perfect without you! I truly appreciate all that the douglaston manor staff have done for me and my new husband!
My husband and I married on 8/6/17 and held our cocktail hour in the Regina Room and reception in the Conservatory. Loved the chapel aesthetic of the Regina Room, and the bright lighting both natural and the fixtures lit after sunset in the Conservatory. Gorgeous views all around the property with the golf-course behind it and the cute fountain and gate out front. It was initially out of our budget but Thomas, our venue manager, was willing to negotiate a little bit and since we loved everything else and my father was willing to chip in, we went with it. My only concern (and the reason I can't give this 5 stars) was the strip steak dish my husband and I selected for the menu. We ate it during the reception and unfortunately it was chewy, overdone, and a bit dry. I also didn't hear anything good about it from our guests. The rest of the food was amazing, especially the sea bass which was raved about by multiple guests and the asparagus ravioli appetizer. We had a great experience with their partner bakery Buttercooky which made our gorgeous (and delicious) three-tiered cake. Overall, great people to work with, and a gorgeous venue. Would definitely recommend.
I recently got married at the Douglaston Manor in July of 2017. The venue is beautiful but the customer service is horrible. The food was scarce and cold. Our Bridal and Grooms suite had watered down drinks and failed to have any cocktail hour food or food in our chaffing dishes, which was something we paid for. Before our ceremony I had to wait for another Bride and her party to enter into the entry way before my ceremony could start. We had to wait a half hour for their guest to exit the area. During the cocktail hour my guest complained of the lack of passed h'orderves which was totally embarrassing. The venue also tried to bill us for chair rentals the day before our wedding at which time we had to provide our contract to prove that we requested the chairs. The day after our wedding we went to pick up our decorations and realized that they hadn't packed the dishes of the guest whom did not attend, although I had spoken with Thomas our General Manager two weeks before the wedding. I told Thomas that a entire family of 8 could not attend because they found out their dad had cancer and they lived out of state. He had no remorse and told me we must pay for the people that we rsvped for and that we would take their dinners home the day of the wedding. The day after our wedding our Maitre D told us that the General Manager whom I had already spoken to about this did not tell him to provide those dinners. Needless to say after several emails and phone calls, we havent received our food or a refund.
Kathy and her team, at Douglaston Manor, did an outstanding job for our Wedding. The venue was well suited, being airy and spacious. Everyone commented on how good the food was. Many of our guests told us it was the best Wedding reception they ever went to. Thank you to our DJ, Then Till Now, and our Photographer, Gray Studios, for making this possible.
Beautiful place! It looks ore like a villa or a castle than a typical Wedding Hall!
As a father, this was a critical event in my family's life. So many reasons WHY this was an amazing location for this special day. First: We worked closely with our Catering/Event Manager- Anthony. This is a true professional who looked out for our best interests at all times. He was one of the top reasons why we chose this location. Bottom line is that he cares! From the moment that we met Anthony till the wedding date, he was consistently communicating with us and exceeded our expectations for the day. Thank you Anthony.
Next, Douglaston Manor is truly a remarkable venue. Amazing garden area for the ceremony that I can only describe as magical. Our event took place on October 29th and the weather was great. Again, as a father, I have an embedded memory of the beautiful garden and outdoor reception area overlooking the golf course. Magical!! The Manor itself- Beautiful, stylish, classy and memorable. All guests loved the location.
I am honored to give a heart felt shout out to Lisa (bridal attendant) who had the toughest role - to prepare and console my wife, daughter and bridal party. Again exceeded ALL expectations. She is an incredible and caring individual who played a critical role in the success of the wedding. Lisa, you are a savior. Thank you!!
I am alittle emotional writing this review. Again, as a father, I wanted the best day for my daughter and Douglaston Manor, Anthony and Lisa delivered. I would be honored if anybody wanted to contact me with any questions.
Derrick
Everything went perfectly! Claudia and Anthony were great to deal with. Food and venue were perfect - all the guests raved about the night! Highly recommend douglaston Manor.
We can not have the wedding so successful without Douglaston Manor team's help, Kathleen gave us the guidance in preparation, bridal attendant Lisa and MaitreD Carlos are very experienced in coordinating. The decorations and setting up of the ceremony and reception are elegant and gorgeous. Our guest gave high reviews about the food, open bar and service. We had a great evening. Thank you Douglaston Manor for everything!
Absolutely beautiful and even better than I could have imagined. Everything was well coordinated and all of the staff members were outstanding. Meagan, the bridal attendant, was awesome. She was always there when we needed something even when we didn't ask. The golf course was perfect for pictures. I would definitely recommend using this venue for any occasion.
We planned our wedding reception with Kathy and everything went according to the plan. Although I didn't have any time to look after any of our guests, I was told afterwards that the staff were friendly and provided excellent service and the food was pretty good too. We would definitely recommand the Douglaston Manor to our friends and family. Thanks Kathy~
The Douglaston Manor was amazing for our September 2, 2016 wedding reception. From the beginning meeting Anthony was a joy. He made us feel relaxed and was very accommodating since the early planning stages. He was able to incorporate our culture into our menu.
Having almost 200 guests was going to seem like a burden to us, but the price we got at Douglaston Manor compared to what we heard others paid was also another reason we went with Douglaston.
Every person we came in contact with at Douglaston Manor was so pleasant to work with. Our maitre d and bridal attendant were both great and made sure everything was done.
The scenery was amazing, the grounds were clean, a lot of places to take pictures.
Absolutely amazing! We had a very large Persian Wedding (nearly 300 people) at the end of August at Douglaston Manor and cannot be more grateful and appreciative for how incredible this venue was. First and foremost the Manor is GORGEOUS! It's a historical mansion on a golf course that makes you feel like you were just transformed into a European villa (you'll hardly believe you are in NYC).
The whole building is so classy and elegant, the minute I walked in I fell in love. It's a much nicer space than the hotel banquet halls that most weddings are held at.
Aside from how beautiful the building is, the staff is incredible. We had less than six months to plan our wedding. Anthony from Douglaston and the entire staff were extremely supportive throughout the entire process. They were always available by phone or email and did their very best to accommodate every vision we had for our special day. Whether it was setting up stage platforms, assembling an ethnic ceremonial table in the courtyard, extending our reception to a later time, to having my favorite drink in my hand during the night, they did everything they could to make our night special.
On the day of the wedding I was blown away at how every vision we had discussed came together in reality. The whole setup was flawless. We had SO many compliments by our guests on how great the event was (everything from the ceremony, to cocktail hour, to dinner and reception). This venue may have been the only wedding I've been to where the guests raved about how great the food was. The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating throughout the night especially the Maitre D' Carlos as well as the Bridal attendant Lisa.
If you're thinking of booking this venue, then think no more...just book it! You will not find a more beautiful space with such a down to earth and passionate staff as this venue. Thank you Douglaston Manor and Claudia for making our big fat Persian wedding such a memorable success!!!
We had our wedding here last week and everything was great. The views are spectacular and the accessibility to the indoor and outdoor spaces were wonderful. Anthony was great helping us along the way and Carlos our Maitre D was very helpful on the day. Everyone loved the food and the service was great.
We got married at Douglaston Manor in May 2016. It was so amazing!! Anthony Calogero, our Banquet Manager was so helpful and great during the entire year of planning. He gave us very helpful tips, he did not steer us wrong!! I have to say that my bridal attendant, Lisa, was an angel!! She went far and beyond for my husband and I to feel relaxed, calm and HAPPY! I felt like I had known her for years!! She really, truly made our special day, extra amazing!! Mike, our Maître D was really great also. He took care of all the "behind-scene" things, and made sure everything went perfectly. All of the guests told me later that it was a flawless event and we had a wonderful time!!! I love that we choose the Douglaston Manor and I really appreciate all the staff - especially Anthony, Lisa and Mike!
I had my bridal shower at the Douglaston Manor last month and it was absolutely perfect. I didn't see the hall until the day of my party because my parents had set it all up. It was beyond my expectations. The food was so delicious and well-presented. The place was so beautiful, spacious and clean. The waitresses were very respectful, attentive and welcoming. They had candles lit around the hall creating beautiful ambiance and a warm, inviting atmosphere. They had even personalized the dinner menu with our names on it! We had very special demands that they were more than happy to meet. With 100 guests at our party, it was very private and intimate, you wouldn't even tell that their were two other parties going on! All my guests raved about how beautiful it was and how good the food was. A BIG thank you to Kathy and her wonderful staff for being such a great help, so nice and accommodating. Thank you for making my night unforgettable! We would definitely use this hall for any future parties we have.
The Douglaston Manor was literally the most perfect place for our big wedding day. Kathy was a pleasure to work with planning all the details of our event - we had little to worry about as Kathy coordinated with our DJ and caterer to make sure the details were worked out. The night of Michael was our Maitre'd and literally had our 22-person wedding party all organized, well fed, well hydrated and ready to go. And I have to say a special thank to Samantha our wedding attendant - she went above and beyond anything I could expect. Whether it was standing on a table to help me change outfits and get my new jewelry on to making sure all of our wedding accessories were organized, I cannot thank her enough. To top it all off, the Douglaston Manor is a beautiful venue - the golf course, the outdoor cocktail hour and ceremony, the beautiful reception room. It was just so grand! I would recommend this gem to anyone - great staff, beautiful venue, what more can you ask for?
I just had my engagement party at Douglaston Manor. Where to begin..the view from the patio is exceptional, with a perfect view of the Manhattan Skyline. Great engagement shots, the grounds are beautiful. The food was amazing, from the cocktail hour to the four course sit down dinner, staff was top notch, white gloved service and my banquet manager Kathy was great. She helped me from start to finish with great ideas to make this party memorable. She even suggested things to cut back on to save money. I really can't imagine working with anyone else. Actually things were so perfect, I am already speaking with her about the wedding in 2017. My guests are still calling about it, all 160 of them. If anyone asks, as my fiance would say. Douglaston Manor is at the top of their game.
I had a fairly large surprise party of family and friends for my mom's very big birthday at the Douglaston Manor recently. They did such an amazing and fantastic job!! I am in the wedding flower business and I had many many venues to choose from, and I'm so happy that I decided to choose them!
Claudia and her staff were fantastic! The food was absolutely delicious! I had a meeting with their new chef, who has been there quite a few months now, and he made every dish to perfection! The salmon was perfectly cooked in a wonderful Dijon caper sauce. The Chicken Marsala was excellent! The Filet Mignon was perfectly cooked, rare and tender like butter.
The Farfalle Pasta Carbonara with peas and prociutto was as good as I make it, and even better! And the sauce of the Penne Vodka was fantastic! All of the other dishes that we had were wonderful and our guests are still talking about how delicious the food was! I have a very fussy family and they haven't stopped talking about how much they loved the Douglaston Manor! In addition, the wait staff were wonderful, and very accommodating! The room was beautiful, with such a warm and elegant atmosphere, we couldn't have asked for more! Thank you to Claudia and your amazing staff for the best party ever for my Mom! Lori C
My wedding was held at Douglaston Manor on September 26th 2015. Everyone on the staff was helpful, accommodating and friendly. The venue is absolutely beautiful, I couldn't have dreamed up a more perfect place for my wedding. Claudia one of the owners even personally helped with some of our wedding details, which meant so much that she took her own time to do so. My bridal attendant Lisa, omg I can not even say enough about her. She was the best part of my entire wedding, from helping me with everything and I do mean EVERYTHING to helping control little glitches that arose. My husband and I love Douglaston manor and everything about it, not only would we highly recommend it for other couples but we plan on spending our new years there as well as having other parties there!!
I totally recommend this venue for not just only weddings but other events as well. I had my ceremony and reception here and the feedback that I received from friends and family were all good. The staff works with you with what ever situation you may have and they are very attentive to your needs. The price is VERY affordable compared to other venues I shopped around with. I am surprised the price is so good considering the views, customer service, and service. (Knock on wood, price stay the same) I can go on and on about this place but I do not want to bore you with my fantastic experience. My banquet manager was Anthony such a chilled guy very nice and on a few occasions I was assisted by Carlos another fantastic guy. If your looking for a great place to WOW your guest at least you can do is call The Manor up and schedule a tour. I LOVE YOU ALLLLLLL -SAM :)
I love this place. The decor is beautiful, the views are amazing and the staff is incredible. They felt like family when all was said and done. Food was great and they were helpful and responsive every step of the way. Highly recommended! Special thanks to Anthony, Michael, and Brooke at the Douglaston Manor.
I had my wedding at the Douglaston Manor in early August 2015. We decided on the venue a year prior due to the amount of family flying in, and it's proximity to Laguardia Airport. The grounds are gorgeous, and it truly feels like you are in an old Spanish mansion. They were very accommodating, but there were a few bumps along the way. First, we went through 2 banquet managers before finally being set with the 3rd and final. Our first, whom we booked with retired. Great! Congratulations, but he should have told us when we signed the paperwork that he was planning on leaving in 5 months. Our second would have been great, but he unexpectedly had a family member get sick and had to leave the country. We finally got Michael and he was fabulous. My parents are very nervous people and he was patient and calm with them. Lisa was my bridal attendant. She was awesome- very attentive kept us on schedule and helped bustle my dress.
Day of, was beautiful. But, there were some slip ups. First, we paid for the upgraded liquor package. The first drink my dad ordered he was told they "don't have that liquor". Umm...what? It was fixed but there were obviously communication issues. Second, we wanted the food for the cocktail hour set up inside, and have guests choose to sit inside or out. They start setting up the food outside. Again, it was fixed but there was obvious lack of communication... again.
Lastly, my cake was dropped. I can honestly say that mistakes happen and this was just a fluke. But it still sucked. The top 2 tiers were destroyed. They managed to save the bottom tier. They set up a fake cake with my topper on it, and our guests were none the wiser. My florist who is a family friend pushed her way into the kitchen to get the topper and make the fake cake look presentable by adding flowers around it. If it wasn't for her it would have looked very plain.
Later I found out they let my cocktail hour run about 45 minutes over, probably to compensate for the cake fiasco. I loved having a longer cocktail hour and it did not take away from the reception at all. Anyway, i'm really not a overly emotional bride so I really didn't care. I had cake to cut (the bottom tier) and there was enough cake for everyone. I definitely didn't let it ruin my night.
The food was phenomenal. There was so. much. food. Amazing. Our guests did not stop raving about it. The grounds are gorgeous, although the manor itself could use a good power washing. Although there were some hiccups I am very happy with our experience and would truly recommend it .
I had a very small wedding at this venue and everything went great. However, I think the managing staff could have been a little more accommodating in terms of planning and service. For example, the valet left before the reception ended so my guests had to go retrieve their own keys and cars. Thanks God it was a small wedding and I wasn't too crazy about the details because I felt a little left in the wind during the planning.
We had our wedding at Douglaston Manor in June of 2015. The Douglaston Manor is a gorgeous European style mansion located on a golf course. The staff are wonderful, the facilities top notch, and the cost reasonable. We instantly knew that Douglaston was a step above the rest of the NYC venues we had visited. We wanted to have an outdoor ceremony on premises, and the outdoor ceremony space at Douglaston is beautiful. Fortunately, we had a sunny day, but Douglaston also provides an indoor "in case of rain" ceremony space at no extra cost.
Banquet manager Anthony Calogero was particularly great to work with from the first visit through the wedding ceremony. He was attentive and helpful during meetings, and answered all emailed questions within a day. He genuinely cared for our event and made every effort to meet our requirements and special requests, such as scheduling an early arrival for first look photos, providing tours for a couple of our vendors, and last minute dinner seating updates.
Our only negative feedback is that our phone number was distributed to all Douglaston's affiliated vendors, and several of those vendors proceeded to call daily for several months.
In all, Douglaston was the best venue we could possibly have celebrated our wedding. Our guests commented that the space was breathtaking, the food was delicious, and the venue was classy. We would schedule another event here in a heartbeat.
First off, so many guests have approached me and said that the cake (Carrot!) was the best wedding cake they've ever had at a wedding.
Same goes for the food. My husband and I actually thought the food the night of the wedding was better than the day of our tasting.
I booked my wedding over 2 years in advance, and just human nature, the longer the time, the higher the likelihood that something will go wrong. By the time I was ready to set the menu, they actually had a whole new menu, but they were willing to work with me and I was able to select some stuff that they no longer offered.
They had also changed bakers since I had booked it, and I had wanted something a little out of the box for my wedding cake (I had a snow globe cake topper that was rather heavy and need built in support). So it was a lot of back and forth to see if the new baker was willing/able to do that for me, but again, in the end, the cake turned out WONDERFUL and was beyond delicious.
The biggest thing that happened was another banquet manager wound up double booking my cocktail hour room so it wasn't available at the time my wedding was supposed to start. This was the most upsetting. They were able to give me a holding room for a half hour while the cocktail hour room was being cleared and then my reception was exte4nded a half-hour. It would up working fine, and gave us more time to take family portraits! Everything happens for a reason!!
I went through 3 banquet managers while I was at Douglaston Manor, again, just because I booked so far in advance. The last guy that would up being my maitre'd the night of the wedding, Carlos, was AMAZING. He was so helpful, accommodating and organized. I could not have been happier.
I made all my own centerpieces, and they set everything up for me perfectly.
Their payment schedule was easy to work within and they were flexible.
I thought that we got a GREAT value for the price we paid. We got married Thanksgiving weekend and they worked with us because we were such a large party (over 190).
All said and done, I had a truly wonderful experience and would recommend Douglaston Manor. I'd certainly have another event there in the future!
I dont know what to say. The venue is amazing, food was great, price is great, service SUCKED. between them and the wedding plaza 1000 dollars was "missing" i didnt know who to trust with who had it. during the day i had my maitre'd giving a tour of the place, then when confronted after he denied it. my bridal attendent was nowhere to be found, never even asking if i needed help with my big princess dress. They told me there would be two bars, there was one. I gave them donation cards to lay out and they were all face down on the table? whats the point of that. I asked them to put my pictures I gave them out, they put them on one table. I had a memorial candle for my grandma who passed away only 4 weeks earlier and i had to remind them twice to light it before they actually did. when we were done with pictures at one point we could not find anyone to show us to the bridal suite. they kind of just left us hanging. the price was great if you were having a smaller party and the place is beautiful but its not worth the headache with the idiots who work there.
My husband and I had a winter wonderland wedding on December 15, 2012. It was the most amazing wedding. The service was the best at Douglaston Manor. They worked so hard to keep everything going and helped create a great day that flowed very nicely. Thomas was the biggest help. He answered all our questions whenever we had them. I would recommend this vendor for anyone who wants to get married. I will be using them in the future. Excellent!!!!
The Douglaston Manor was the ideal setting for my November 2012 wedding. My fiancé (now my husband) and I visited the location 3 times before we decided this was the place for us and each time the staff was friendly and accommodating answering all of our questions. The day of the service, food, and liquor were top notch. It is a unique venue because you can have your event both indoors and outdoors. I highly recommend this venue to any bride looking for a great wedding venue in Queens.
I handled my wedding on October 7, 2012 at Douglaston Manor. The manor is on a beautiful golf course. The moment I walked into the place, I knew I had to have my wedding there. My theme was a masquerade wedding and I needed a venue with an old rustic feel too it, which this place had. I also had a small head count and a tight budget. The place did work with me on my budget. The food was great and the drinks were strong. We got our money's worth. My bridal attendant, Lisa was fantastic. She made sure we were well taken care of. The only negative comment I have, is the manger John was a little lay back for my taste. My dear friend who all year long helped with my wedding was basically on him to make sure the directions I left with him were followed. In the end everything turned out the way vision was in my head. If you are looking for an affordable place, with good food, a place to take pictures inside or outside, with good service, this is the place for you.
great service from staff beautiful location
I had my wedding here a little over 2 weeks ago and it was everything I wanted! The rooms were beautiful, and being it was gorgeous outdside the ceremony and cocktial hour were outside and fabulous! Thomas the manager was great and my bridal attendant Lisa was so helpful! it was a bit more than we anticipated in cost, although it was still reasonable. The food was average however otherwise it would be a perfect 5!
Every one of our guests came up to us to tell us how beautiful our venue was. We really didn't have to spend too much on decorations, and flowers. The food was good too, the portions could've been a bit more generous but that's ok. the presentation was great. Our maitre' de, Thomas was really helpful and had everything under control while my husband and I had a great time with our friends and family. Overall, a gorgeous venue with a great scenery and good menu.
The Douglaston Manor was the perfect reception location for our wedding. The food was excellent according to the Groom(my husband) and many of our guests (I didn't get to really sit down and actually eat that day, but my husband managed to! lol). The atmosphere was excellent, the decor was beautiful, and the Banquet Manager Michael was excellent. Michael really worked with us to help make our wedding day a huge success. We had about 145 guests and everyone commented on how beautiful and fun our wedding was. I highly recommend the Douglaston Manor if you want a intimate, classy, and memorable wedding reception. And ask for Michael and say Adrianne & Brad recommended you! Good luck on your wedding planning.
My fiancee and I went into Douglaston Manor a year before our wedding (after finding it online as having $60-80 per plate options, which I didn't believe was possible in NYC) and found it to be a stately, 100-year-old Spanish mansion sitting on a picture-perfect golf course on the highest ridge in Queens, so it has a view of the Manhattan skyline from the back deck. The event coordinator, Thomas DiMartino, was the first person we spoke with and we stuck with him through the entire planning process. He anticipated all the bumps in the planning process, and was willing to work with our needs and our budget throughout. He accommodated our request for a 4 hour open bar with a cocktail hour while cutting back on the food options that usually go along with that much open bar. We were able to stay on budget even when our guest list temporarily doubled from what we were expecting (we had a lot of RSVP nos, thankfully). The day of the wedding, Thomas was our Maitre d and handled all the vendors, the centerpieces, and coordinated the band. The food was good -- the cake was even better (definitely get the cannoli and chocolate pudding double filling) and the service was very good. We even had the bar stay open for 2 hours after the ceremony to give people a place to hang out when they weren't ready to go home. Only caveat: don't come here if you're a foodie or want the Plaza-style fancy treatment. This is a good place for people who want to put their money towards having a larger group or the band (like we did) or something. The food is not going to knock your socks off, but it's not terrible, either.
Thomas. The Garden room.;DON'T USE THE WEDDING PLAZA/ARIANA. They're so disorganized!
