Although I did not find my dress at The Dress Shop (I had a particular style in mind), I am still giving a 5 star review because I had a great experience. I worked with Isabel and she was SO amazing. I was nervous going into my appointment because it was my first one and I did not know what to expect. It was truly everything I had imagined as far as the experience, except for not finding my dress. Isabel made me feel very comfortable and was not pushy at all. She did her best to help me find my dress. The store was very nice as well. I would recommend.

I had an amazing time at the dress shop. I highly recommend to any bride looking at dress shops to go here. Christy was absolutely amazing and made my experience perfect. I'm a bigger bride and didn't have any issues finding dresses to try on or that I loved. They only pulled in my budget and catered the dresses to what I liked. 10/10 recommend.

I don’t even know where to begin! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by kind staff members. The shop itself is beautifulI! They offer complimentary tea and coffee for customers. Each dressing room was spacious and very comfortable. I brought 5 people with me, including my 98 year old grandma, and everyone was comfortable and happy! I had my appointment today and found the perfect dress! My appointment was with Sarah and she was incredible! She was so sweet, fun, compassionate, and offered great suggestions. She paid attention to detail and was supportive every step of the way! She made the whole process super easy because I definitely was a little nervous and had no idea what to expect! I highly, highly suggest checking out The Dress Shop for any future brides! 🥰

Ugh. I am an older bride and went to the Dress Shop sale day as my daughter had had a good experience with their sale back in 2019. My experience was completely different. The place was a mad house. We were first welcomed by a friendly stylist who we thought would be with us throughout the appointment. We saw her for maybe 10 minutes and then never again. Various stylists came in and out of the fitting room very briefly and with no continuity. We had a lovely fitting room for the first 15 minutes to try on 4 dresses with almost no help. We were then moved to what felt like a closet that was part of another dressing room, basically a curtain separating us and another bride. We tried on a total of 10 dresses with zero help while there. Thankfully my daughter was there, and put all of the dresses back on the hangers and did any zipping, etc. that I couldn't do. It's ok with me that we didn't find a dress, it's not ok with me how we were treated.

Cece helped me find “the one” Everyone was super helpful and friendly but most importantly I didnt feel pressured to pick a dress.

I went to The Dress Shop in November 2023, and they were so wonderful there. Cece worked with me and she was so supportive and helped me stay focused on what I wanted. I found so many beautiful dresses but ultimately she helped me customize my perfect dress. It was the experience I always wanted and I’m so excited to see my dress in a few months. I recommend The Dress Shop to any and all brides in the East MI area. They donate to help victims of human trafficking and they even offered to take off the deposit amount for the other store I was going to visit so I could cancel that appointment with peace of mind.

If you're a Michigan native, this wedding dress shop is a MUST. I was referred to them by a friend, and they were my very first dress appointment, and I was blown away! If you're going, ask for Christy. She made me feel incredibly special, treated my family with immense kindness, and was immensely respectful and thoughtful of my budget. She encouraged me to try different styles on than what I had in mind, and I ended up falling in love with a dress that was totally different from what I thought I would love! I'm making myself get through my other appointments at some different shops, but I'm counting the days until I can text my consultant and ask when I can come back in to see her & the dress for my final decision. The Dress Shop is everything you could want out of a wedding dress appointment, especially if it's your very first one!

I said yes to the dress!! This wedding dress shop was my first time ever dress shopping and I felt so comfortable and welcomed. I ended up leaving my appointment loving a dress but being a little indecisive of whether or not I wanted to go look at other places. Christy, who was helping me that day, told me to sleep on it and if I was still thinking about that dress the next day then I would know. She was so sweet and so helpful. I never felt any pressure from her to make any sort of decision. I did end up going back the next day and I am so glad I did. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. They have such a wide range of options and prices to choose from. Thank you to everyone at The Dress Shop for making my experience so enjoyable and I cannot wait to wear my beautiful dress on my special day!!

Absolutely loved my dress from here! The staff was very friendly and helpful! I purchased my dress during their spring sale, so the only downside was I felt that my “experience” was cut short. I wasn’t able to do champagne or the traditional “I said yes” photo because of the sale event. Overall I would recommend looking here for your dress!

The dress shop made my experience awesome! I do not live in Michigan, but all of my family and my husband's does so I flew to MI for the holidays and decided to go shopping while there since it was easier for me to come to all of my family. I knew I wanted to find a dress that day and there and they made it happen. We were getting married in FL where we lived so that was another thing to consider. I had a long list of must have and must nots. The dress I selected was from their collection and I loved that I knew no one in FL would have this dress. I loved my dress and veil, I felt so beautiful :)

From start to finish working with The Dress Shop was an amazing experience. Everyone is super helpful and has such a wonderful and positive attitude. I always felt special and excited to be there from shopping there to all of my fittings! I would 100% go to here again to find a dress and I HIGHLY recommend Dorothy for any alterations!!!

Had the best shopping experience at The Dress Shop and all my fittings! The store is beautiful and the consultants really listen when you give them your parameters. I went over budget but that was my mom’s fault for telling me to try on the dress I ended up with! The alterations ladies were amazing too my dress fit like a glove on my wedding day and the bustle was beautiful too!

The Dress Shop and particularly Carol are amazing. I made an appointment here at the advice of my sister. She had known a few friends who had gotten their dresses at this shop. I went in not expecting to find my wedding dress right away as this was only the second store I went to. When we walked in, both my mom and I automatically saw the dress I ultimately picked and fell in love with. Their dress selection is amazing and Carol is an amazing consultant and made me feel confident! She listened to what I wanted and helped to pull dresses that fit my taste. I was between 2 dresses and ended up having to sleep on it to make a decision. Overall VERY happy with the dress I chose and would highly recommend working with Carol.

I always knew I wanted to have a Halloween wedding, but wanted to be sure to keep it classy and elegant. While planning, I had been a little bummed that there weren't more options with dress colors, as white didn't really feel right. Then I saw their instagram post a black dress - I knew that it was perfect - exactly what I wanted. Going to the dress shop was such a fun, easy experience with Cece (she made me feel SO comfortable and helped me not feel overwhelmed), and Thelma in alterations worked MAGIC to make my dress fit perfectly!! I can't gush enough about how wonderful everyone was at the Dress Shop! Day of, I received nothing but complements from all our guests regarding my dress, and even afterwards, our family continued to rave about how it just elevated the entire event to a new level. I adore my dress, and can't recommend the Dress Shop enough!

I can't say enough good things about my experience at TDS. It was an amazing experience. Carol and the consultant working with her (I unfortunately can't remember her name) were both amazing! They really took the time to listen to me and my entourage and brought amazing recommendations after we did our initial shopping. They were so patient as I kept re-trying dresses to find THE dress. There was no pressure to find THE dress, but I had told them I intended to find it that day and definitely did. I am a plus size bride, so I was very nervous to go dress shopping. Carol especially was wonderful at making sure that I felt confident and comfortable. It was definitely an empowering experience and I am so excited to get and wear my dress.

I loved my experience with The Dress Shop from start to finish! Carol was amazing and extremely helpful during the whole process. I absolutely love my dress!! I also really enjoyed the ring aspect of the try-on process. Of all the dress shops I went to, this is the only one that did a full glam look with my dress (think Say Yes to the Dress style).

I had the best experience! Heather really listened to what I was looking for and it was the opposite of my other appts at other shops. She did not push dress styles I already tried and didnt like and there was no pressure to buy a dress THAT day. My party was able to go around the shop with me and pick out dresses we liked on the racks to start the appt. Which was fun for us all and one of my group's favorite parts as no other shop was like that! My favorite part was when I was in THE dress and she asked if i could see myself "frolicking through the redwoods" in it. Something I said off hand at the beginning of the appointment when I was describing the vibe I wanted. It was then I said yes to the dress! It was the perfect experience. The manager Cecelia was also wonderful to work with!

the women here in general are amazing. the whole process. picking the dress, my alterations and customer service in general. they are patient and kind and seem to genuinely care about you having the best memories.

I am so pleased with my experience with The Dress Shop! I only had to visit this store to find my perfect dress, they had a huge selection of dresses. The shop was so beautiful and organized. They also had the prices visible which was very helpful in finding a dress within my budget. Jessica was so amazing, I am pretty indecisive but she was so patient and brought back so many dresses to make sure I found the perfect dress for me! I will definitely recommend The Dress Shop to all of my friends!

I went to several dress stores prior to coming to the dress shop and had 2-3 good options before I landed here. I wasn’t really sure which direction to go after multiple visits to other stores but Jessica helped me find clarity and ultimately I found the dress I loved. They have the dresses very well organized by type and price tags are visible so you know what your working with. She had me pick out a few dresses and then she also picked out some based on what she thought I was looking for - one of which ended up being my dress! She also helped me pick out a veil and jewelry while there which was extremely helpful and took off added stress later in the planning process. I feel like she captured exactly what I was looking for, something other places weren’t able to completely do

Really wonderful experience at TDS! The shop itself is beautiful, and I really loved that they allowed me to walk through and look at all the dresses and tag the ones that I wanted to try on. My appointment was with Heather, and she was so nice and helpful. I wasn't able to bring any friends or family with me to the appointment, so she not only pulled great dresses for me, but also helped me in and out of them AND helped me take pictures of the ones I liked. Cecelia, the manager, was amazing, and came in towards the end of the appointment to help me narrow down my top contenders. You can tell she really knows her dresses and knows all the right questions to ask to help a bride make these tough decisions. Even though I did not end up purchasing my dress at TDS, I would highly recommend them as a great place to shop!

It breaks my heart to write to this, but I don’t want any other brides to be treated the way I was. My experience started off great- CeCe was so helpful in picking out my dream dress, paying close attention to both my words and body language in each dress. I loved them and decide to do my alterations there. Unfortunately my toe was stabbed and resulted in blood on my train (accidents happen, I was devastated, but understood it was no one’s fault). I got a call the next day explaining that my dress was being sent out for cleaning (great, it’s the least they can do). Still frazzled I didn’t think to ask if they were continuing to work on getting a new dress as they had said the day before since blood stains can never fully come out. Both my Mom and I called the next day to ask about it, get more info on what was being done with the blood stained dress, and try to understand better what was being done. Suddenly they could get a new dress, right then when I happened to be in the middle of a conversation with them! I do not believe that would have happened had we not both been pushing for it (no yelling, no name calling, simply questioning what we were being told, and thank goodness we did). Either way, I’m satisfied with the solution. CeCe tells me the dress will be in by my next alterations appointment and we can continue with everything from there. I called the morning of the appointment to confirm the time and that the dress had arrived. Good to go. When we walked in we were told that our remaining appointments had been canceled and they could no longer work with us because they felt disrespected by our previous conversation. Just hours after confirming my alterations appointment for that day. After they stabbed me and used Shout and water on my satin dress. Two months before my wedding. They didn’t even have the decency to tell me ahead of time, give me more time to find a new seamstress, allow me the dignity to not hyperventilate and cry in public. I understand the mistake they made was costing them a lot and they needed to try to cut their losses before having to offer me anything else for all that they put me through, but it was the most unprofessional, dishonest, and demeaning way to handle the situation. They may be able help you pick out a dress, but they will throw you to the curb the first chance they get if anything goes wrong. Edit: I did not step on a pin in the hem. I was stabbed on the side/top of my big toe by my nail (the pin hole is still visible), so that would have been impossible. I was not moving when it happened. As CeCe so *respectfully* pointed out, yes it was my blood on the dress, but it was neither my needle nor my actions that caused it to be there. The staff reacted quickly to clean the floor and my shoe. It was not until I rushed to find someone after inspecting the dress myself that they did anything about it. At that time they chose to use cleaning products that should not touch a satin gown. I can't speak to what my Mom said, but I can speak to her frustration as to how it was being handled, the feeling that we were being lied to in an effort to save money, and and an obvious desire for this to have never happened. I did not receive a voicemail from CeCe, but I still called called to confirm my appt on 7/12 and was told that my alterations appt was set for that night and they had my dress. The was not just no indication I would not be getting alterations, there was positive confirmation that I would be.

We had SUCH a wonderful experience with The Dress Shop and Olivia! She was so helpful in not only finding a dress, but also helping me customize it while keeping my style, budget and comfort in mind. Truly beyond professional, knowledgable and genuinely kind. My colleague spoke very highly of their alterations service as well. highly recommend!

CAROL IS AMAZING!!! I had the best experience, and there were so many beautiful gowns to choose from! Carol helped me pick my dream dress! If I could rate more than 5 I definitely would!

It made me feel truly heard and not like it was “just another sale”. 20/10 recommend this place!! They are amazing!

I went to 3 dress shops and this was by far the best! Hayley was my consultant at The Dress Shop and she was phenomenal. She would ask for my thoughts on the dresses and when it was clear I didn't love it, she wasted no time moving on to the next one. The other places I went to the consultants were pushy, trying to sell me on dresses I hated and suggesting a bunch of upgrades. Hayley was friendly, respectful, and handled my guests well. It made finding my dress painless. I would absolutely recommend them!

Jessica was a dream to work with! I was really nervous going into the appointment and she was so supportive. She asked great questions to figure out what I actually wanted and really listened to what I was saying about each dress until we found the perfect one! As someone who is normally very indecisive, I was stunned to find my gown in my first appointment. I 100% recommend shopping here. I was nervous about going, as my budget was on the lower end and I was worried that whoever my appointment was with might be dismissive. Not so. Olivia was wonderful- super kind and personable. She ended up being the one to find my dress! Excited to go back for alterations

I went to 4 different stores and the service here stood out above all of the rest and was absolutely amazing. I could also never say enough good things about Olivia and the spectacular experience she provided on both of my visits with her. She was hands down the friendliest, most knowledgeable and overall most helpful and wonderful consultant. She never once made us feel rushed or as if she was annoyed by my indecisiveness and desire to try on one million different accessories. Rather, she was excited and made every step fun and light hearted. 12/10 - would buy a dress from her again.

This place was amazing! Greeted us with happy faces when we walked in. They spoiled us w/ mimosas & snacks. The place is beautiful, with many dress options fit for all budgets. Cecelia was my consultant, & she was beyond amazing! She always made sure we were all comfortable. But foremost she made sure I was comfortable at all times, that MY voice was heard first, & that MY opinions, thoughts, & feelings were the most important. She found me the dress of my dreams & a veil to suit. Could not recommend this place more! Updated: They also did my alterations. Dorothy busted her butt to make sure my dress was perfect. My dress needed A LOT of alterations & she handled it no problem. It was the most perfect dress!!!

I’ve never been someone who dreams about their wedding and frankly the idea of dress shopping has been what I’ve dreaded most while being engaged - but I went to The Dress Shop for my very first bridal appointment and I will be forever grateful I did! I worked with Carol to pick out dresses that made me feel comfortable and beautiful and like an actual bride for the first time since being engaged. The entire team was so kind and welcoming and accommodating; they didn’t pressure me one way or another the entire time. I’ve been dress shopping as a bridesmaid with other brides before, and know that the level of attention and support that I received by The Dress Shop throughout my appointment is not offered everywhere, which made it even more special and surprising! I ended up saying yes to the very first dress I tried on, after trying many, many others in the shop, and I just cannot recommend The Dress Shop and their team enough!

This was my first stop in my dress shopping journey and it was beyond an amazing experience. I had Jessica K. as my bridal stylist and she was fabulous! I was very overwhelmed trying on all various styles and fits, Jessica asked great questions to narrow down exactly what I liked and didn’t like and we went from there. I found a dress I loved but being that this was the first place I wasn’t quite ready to say “yes”. We left without a dress but with an experience that set the bar high (and that no other bridal store matched). Fast forward to 2 weeks later and I made a follow up appointment with Jessica. After my other experiences, I couldn’t imagine buying my dress anywhere else—as we were going through dresses I was very impressed that she remembered all the dresses I tried on previously. Her personality is so positive, upbeat, honest and she was extremely mindful of my budget. I ultimately said “yes” to the original dress and I couldn’t be happier! Jessica made myself, my MOH and my family feel so comfortable and so included throughout the entire process without shying away from my personal thoughts and opinions. The dresses that are at the Dress Shop are beyond gorgeous and the options were endless. I cannot recommend Jessica enough she truly made our experience!
