I booked the Terrace Room to do proposal and had a great experience at The Edge. They helped me find vendors and organize proposal.

I just held my daughter's bridal shower last month at the beautiful Edgewater Hotel's Forest Room. It was the perfect venue for the 18 attendees. Everyone was so surprised how picturesque the view from the banquet room was. Not only was the view outstanding but the banquet service was excellent and the food was absolutely delicious. All the guests, as well as my daughter, enjoyed every moment!
Kate Niklaus, the catering manager, was very helpful and accommodating during the entire planning process. I was pleasantly surprised by how the catering staff provides printed menus for each guest to select their entree. It made each guest feel extra special!
It really was a top-notch experience for all of us! I would definitely recommend the Edgewater Hotel for anyone looking for the perfect and elegant waterfront venue.
Any questions?

The Edgewater is a beautiful venue and the staff made our wedding so easy and seamless. Food gets a 5/5, view gets a 5/5, wifi gets a 3/5, rooms get a 5/5, location gets a 5/5, staff gets a 5/5. Really fabulous place to get married. Absolutely beautiful space, has everything we needed and wanted for our wedding.

The Edgewater will take such good care of you! We had a fantastic experience working with Kate for our wedding. The Edgewater is incredibly expensive but I felt like they were very upfront about costs and when you think about all that is included, it's far less stressful thinking about the little details when they are all handled. The food was some of the best wedding food we've ever had. They do a LOT of weddings so they are very experienced. On my wedding day there were 3 other weddings going on... but you would have had no idea! 10/10 experience.

This venue was absolutely amazing! They have an events coordinator who helps with everything (but also require you to have your own day of coordinator). They accommodated every request I had (timing, specific wine choices, severe food allergies, etc.). You name it - they figured out a way to help. The space is very elegant and they are incredibly easy to work with!!

This was an absolutely stunning venue for our wedding. We had so many guests tell us that it was one of the best (if not the best) wedding they had ever been to, and the venue and food quality played a huge role in that. We even had a cruise ship go by during our ceremony which was so unique and reminded our guests we were ON the water! We wouldn't have been able to execute such an incredible wedding without Payton, Kate, and the entire Edgewater team!

Absolutely stunning venue for our wedding. The views were absolutely incredible and the hotel staff made sure all of the details were taken care of. We had so many people say it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. Amanda was fantastic to work with and made the day seamless. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

From the moment my husband and I walked into The Edgewater we knew it was the perfect place for our wedding. The views are stunning and unforgettable. We had the Olympic Ballroom and Terrace and it was the perfect size for our wedding (~70 people). Our venue contact was Payton and she was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. They were also very understanding and accommodating when we postponed our wedding due to COVID, which made a difficult situation easier. One of the things we really enjoyed about this venue is that the catering is done through them and all the food is fantastic. We had such a hard time narrowing down our final menu because it was all so good. They were also very open to working with us to make the menu exactly what we wanted and had no problem accommodating special dietary needs. During the reception the food came out so fast. The catering staff went above and beyond and prepared a fresh plate of the cocktail hour appetizers for us to eat with our dinner since my husband and I were busy taking photos and did not get to have any during the cocktail hour. Their valet staff also went above and beyond to provide us with outstanding service throughout the entire weekend. Right before the wedding, someone had driven in a wrecked car and left it parked where it should not have been, and the valet staff did everything they could and found a way to get it moved so that it would not be in the background of all of our photos. Everything about our wedding at The Edgewater was beautiful and the memories we created here will last a lifetime.

In total, I would give the Edgewater a 4.5 stars. I had a small wedding of 32 guests. The ceremony was in the Forest Room and the Reception was in the Alki Room. The Edgewater was quick to respond which was a big plus because I only has three months to plan the wedding. In addition, this is one of the most affordable venues you can find for a small wedding, where other venues have ridiculous rental fees. With a $2,500 food an bev minimum and $500 rental, it was base $3,000 for over 30 guests which is AMAZING compared to all other location I looked at.
My only complaint was that it seemed there was a lack of communication between what was said in person and what was later communicated over email. For example, the wedding planner told us in person that the Terrace Room would be available for the ceremony on our date, and that the Rainier room was given in conjunction with the Alki room for rentals (for changing, etc). However, when we asked to book the Terrace Room over email they said they had made a mistake and it was not available to us, and they didn't seem to remember anything about the Rainier room. In addition, they said there would be a day-of wedding coordinator, but on our actual wedding day the coordinator was upstairs the entire time at a larger wedding and we never saw her once. These were minor hiccups and it all worked out in the end.
Food was amazing, view at sunset was incredible, everyone had a great time, and the service staff was very accommodating. They even made a special entree for a guest of mine who has severe food allergies. Would recommend if you are a budget bride looking to have a small wedding.

Catrina was the greatest in helping us achieve a beautiful ceremony and reception! She took care of all the minor details and was an expert on how to organize the room with the numbers and situations we were dealing with. The venue is beautiful in all different weather situations and the food was delicious! All of the staff are top-notch and incredible!

You get what you pay for, and the Edgewater is the gold standard. The only reason I didn't give the Edgewater five stars is the price. It is simply out of reach for some people, which they should know at the outset. In short, my wedding was ~190 people, and the cost ended up being around $45,000. The price included a sit-down meal and open bar. The above said, the venue was absolutely beautiful, and the staff (both day-of and before) were true professionals. They were promptly responsive to all of my questions and efficient and extremely well organized. If you choose the Edgewater as your venue, you can be sure they will be ready to fulfill your every request and need.

The first moment my husband (!!) and I walked into the Edgewater's ballroom, we were sold by the sweeping waterfront views. Cassie was our venue coordinator throughout the process. She was extremely communicative, responsive and accommodating, and it was a pleasure working with her. Since the venue was so gorgeous already, we decided to forgo most decorations and their absence wasn't noticeable at all.
On the day of, everything went smoothly overall and the food was top notch. The servers were particularly attentive to my groom and I, which was a welcome change, allowing us to finally relax. There was some lapse in communication once Cassie left for the banquet manager to take over, though. Dessert service (ice cream) was supposed to be announced by our band so we could be the first to dig in, but the attendants of the ice cream station began serving it when we were away from the room. And although we'd both communicated to Cassie and had a sign listing that we had one vegan ice cream flavor, the servers told our lactose intolerant friend that there were no dairy free flavors! We also had a vegan chocolate topping which they told her wasn't dairy free. We really wish they'd admitted to not knowing if any dairy free options were available instead of providing incorrect information.
There were also a few minor points of miscommunication in the days leading up to the wedding, but all in all, we would highly recommend The Edgewater Hotel.

We could not have been more happy with the Edgewater and their entire staff with the planning and execution of our wedding. Catrina was a true pleasure and was able to make the entire process a success. For anyone that wants to be married on the Seattle waterfront you would be hard to find a better place to do it. The Olympic ballroom is a perfect setting for ceremony and reception.

We chose The Edgewater for our daughter's wedding and we couldn't be more pleased! Catrina is wonderful to work with. The service was superb as was the view , food and beverage service. Everything was coordinated beautifully. Having the terrace was key for guests to mingle during cocktail hour. With 85 guests, the Olympic ballroom is the perfect size.

The Edgewater is a gorgeous place to have a wedding! We had the Olympic Ballroom (Puget Sound views) and the attached Terrace (city scape and space needle views) for our event and the views were stunning. We had a lot of out-of-town guests so it was important to us to “show off” our city and the Edgewater is certainly the place to do that.
The wonderful things:
- the food was delicious. It came out SO FAST and was hot. We even heard from a few guests that they were able to accommodate last minute picky-eaters without even a second glance.
- The room: you don’t need to bring in many outside decorations to make this space gorgeous. The view, wood ceilings, chandeliers really do enough. We did end up paying for chair covers because the chairs leave a little bit to be desired, but the room has a very comfortable feel. The patio is also a major bonus on a beautiful day.
- The wedding night! We got upgraded to the penthouse and it was A-MAZ-ING! We didn’t want to leave! Now they don’t guarantee a special room, but they do try to upgrade you if they can, and we lucked out.
- The wait staff the night of: very accommodating, friendly, and professional.
Cons:
- This isn’t a cheap place to have a wedding. We knew that going in, but were disappointed with the “hidden costs”. They really just nickel and dime you for everything. For example, we had an open bar and were charged $8 per cocktail – which we chose going into it. However, we had a ridiculously high number of soda charged to our final bill and were puzzled by how much soda we drank. Turns out, the $8 per cocktail does not include the soda mixers! They double charge you. $8 for the cocktail and then $5 per can of soda for the mixers. When I asked about it, they said “oh, they only use a little soda per cocktail so 1 can goes a long way”. It’s still extremely misleading and we got charged for 80 cans of soda ($400). They also charge drinks on consumption and insist that it usually averages out to 3 drinks per guest. We were skeptical of that from the beginning. Even with plenty of nondrinker guests, our bill turned out to average 6.5 drinks per person.
- Multiple people at the Edgewater told me that we didn’t need to hire a day-of wedding coordinator because they have the catering manager there for you. If I did it again, I’d hire a day-of coordinator. Our catering manager (who has since left) said she would help with the flow of the day. She dropped the ball on that. I had friends help set up for me, and they said that our coordinator was nowhere to be found. Another example is that no one told our vendors when to eat so there was confusion that put us way behind schedule.
- Like I said earlier, our catering manager contact has since left the Edgewater and I’m not at all surprised. She was constantly talking about how things were at her old job and was extremely forgetful. On multiple occasions she messed details up that I would have to correct. She wasn’t very good at her job. However, most of the wedding did go off without a hitch so it worked out in the end. But she made the process much more stressful and I didn’t have much confidence in her.
With all that said, we still had an unbelievable day, and I’d do it again. Add more cushion to your budget to prep for some of these hidden fees though. The food, views, and having indoor and outdoor space were all very important to us and they are all things our guests are still raving about months later.

The Edgewater Hotel was the perfect quintessential wedding venue to set our Pacific Northwest mood. With most of our guests coming from out of town, this really showcased our region. The room was beautiful with glass picture windows across one wall that looked out on the mountains and the water. The food was amazing, albeit pricey. Our biggest frustration was with group sales. We never received calls back from our group sales rep and he was not flexible with us at all. He really made the process incredibly difficult. Needless to say, 75% of our guests were from out of town, but the process was so difficult and frustrating we did not even set up a room block at the Edgewater!

The ceremony, cocktail hour and rehearsal space are just gorgeous - the views are incredible, and the woodwork is beautiful. It has a true air of sophistication. The sun sets right over the mountains in front of the window while you eat dinner, and ferries and birds drift by. All of our guests raved about the ballroom.
The service was great and the food was outstanding. The hotel's point person/coordinator was very helpful and available. She was also patient with all my ad hoc questions.
For dinner, we had salmon, steak and veggie risotto. They were delicious. Appetizers were tasty too. They brought us a plate of appetizers while we signed our marriage contract to make sure we didn't miss out which was very sweet.
Finally, the room included in the package was beautiful. They upgraded us to a large room on the top floor overlooking the water with a large balcony.
It was perfect! My husband and I highly recommend them! =)

The Edgewater is a beautiful place to get married, the ballroom is gorgeous and the views of the water are stunning! Catherine, who I first met with, is absolutely wonderful, very positive and excited to help. Unfortunately she wasn't who I worked with during the planning and it was very frustrating. The person I worked with was brash and not accommodating at all. I felt very frustrated and discouraged during the planning process, lots of tears. The day of my wedding I was so happy to see Carherine, she was there to help all day and made sure the event went flawlessly. The price is decent, a lot of additional fees that weren't outlined well during the planning. Appetizers ran out in less than 20 minutes which was very disappointing to my husband. Dinner was great, food is delicious, everything was displayed beautifully!

I loved the Edgewater, the people here are so nice and accommodating. We got married in December but had a summery theme, they had Christmas decorations up and when asked they removed them without a fuss. The day of the wedding everything went off without a hitch, they know what they are doing and nothing happened that wasn't supposed to. The food was amazing, totally worth the price. The weather held out for us and The Edgewater is a wonderful place for photographs. Nearby is The Olympic Sculpture Park which adds a great place for fun and funky shots! Oh and also, whenever I needed to reach the wedding coordinators I was always responded to in a very timely manner.

My husband and I were married on New Years Eve. We chose the Edgewater because the terrace in the Olympic Ballroom has a view of the Space Needle. We were able to see the fireworks at midnight. It was absolutely gorgeous, despite the fog.
The catering staff, especially Christiana and Catherine, were very pleasant, professional, and helpful with answering questions and providing ideas throughout the planning process. They were also extremely helpful with setup on our wedding day and were able to provide us with anything we needed. They even stocked red bull at the bar last minute per my husband's request. :)

AMAZING! The hotel and ballroom were so gorgeous and had the best view, the staff were amazing and helpful and friendly and on top of things and our wedding coordinator was so fantastic! The night of the wedding, everything was perfect and the team did exactly what I wanted and I could not have asked for a better staff to have been part of my wedding! I am so happy that we selected this venue for our wedding and our guests absolutely loved the hotel and the ballroom and the food was so delicious and to do for, everything was gone at the end of the night!

This was the perfect Seattle venue. You can’t beat the views – getting married as the sun sets behind the Olympics is simply stunning. Everyone raved about the amazing salmon and steak. This was not your typical wedding food. The staff was very attentive to every detail. We worked with Christiana and she made sure that everything went seamlessly. We didn’t have anything too out of the ordinary as far as wedding details, and so we decided to not hire a day-of wedding coordinator. I’m glad we didn’t because the Edgewater does such a great job of coordinating everything on their own. We also had the rehearsal dinner in the Forest Room (adjoining the restaurant) and they did a fabulous job of coordinating and managing that party as well. We would recommend using the Edgewater for any event – they truly know how to do everything right.
9/27/2012 • Erin B
The staff were really helpful and nice the day of the wedding. They did more than I expected for service. Leading up to the wedding, communication was confusing at times because it was handed off to different people, but it worked out in the end. The food was good and it's a pretty location on the water.
12/08/2011 • Jena S
Our ceremony was held in the forest room, which is actually in the restaurant. It was perfect for our small ceremony! They set up dark brown leather chairs for our guests and columns for flowers at the front of the room. It was beautiful!
11/07/2011 • Sarah M
We chose the Edgewater because we wanted to show off Seattle to all of our out of town guests. It is an amazing venue that is the only true waterfront hotel in seattle. The service was amazing, the food was great, and the room/view was awesome. Lisa was our coordinator and she made everything so easy! She has been in the industry a while and was able to give us great recommendations for vendors that she trusted and lots of advice. Everything was seamless on the day of, Lisa took care of all the details so we didn't have to worry about anything the day of except enjoying our day!
5/10/2010 • Pamela Q
The planner was great/helpful. The room was good and the food was amazing!!!;The bar, be aware of strong drinks and a less than professional night manager in charge of the bar.
5/10/2010 • Cat C
It had an amazing view of both the city and the mountains and water. The food was amazing and there was plenty of space for everyone to enjoy. The contact there also went out of her way to take care of us.
5/10/2010 • BROOKE R
EVERYTHING! All our friends and family in one room was enough to make it great but add the venue and the ceremony and it is a day I will always remember. Kelsey out event planner was amazing the room was so beautiful I cried when I first saw it the cake was exactly what I had imagined the food (so I hear was good didn't get a chance to eat:)) The band got everyone on the dace floor dancing for 3 hours...it was more amazing than I had ever imagined it could be! Best day of our lives...will never forget!;We were told that if we went over out budgeted amount that someone would tap my father on the shoulder and let us know so that we could decide to make last call for wine early well we never got the tap and went over our budget by $5000. Coming back from the honeymoon and owing an additional $5000 was very shocking the Edgewater did discount us $1000 back but could not do anything about the consumed beverages even though we had an agreement that we would be notified at the event.
5/10/2010 • Carrie K
It turned out amazing it was on the 4th of july and right on the water front so free beatiful downtown seattle fireworks couldn't ask for more. The food was great we had buffet style. I credit myself to making everything look good :) it was a lot of work.;For those that don't know the Edgewater is a world class hotel with a great reputation but beware.... DONOT under any circumstance let Kelsey Angston be your Reception coordinator I had an awful experience with her. I would be happy to talk to anyone about it you can contact me at carrie.krohn@gmail.com Look out for the price dont forget about taxes as well as the bar. we were told it would be around $14 000 and our tab was $23 000 dollars. THis was do to the coordinator of the Edgewater Kelsey Angston who did not contact me at all. 2 weeks before the wedding I had to call her and say shouldn't we be getting everything organized? On top of forgetting all about about our wedding she was not present and left no one present the day of our wedding until after 4pm. We were set up in the wrong room the edgewater then put someone else in our room some randomn people! and my veil and music for the ceremony were in there it took my mom 1.5 hours before she could find kelsey to get that stuff and move our stuff making my mom miss PICTURES all of them! and made the ceremony run 45 minutes late because of no music! After complaining to the lead coordinator there was an attempt to right there wrongs which were far more exstensive than I listed. While we don't feel we were fairly taken care of we wouldn't say don't get married there just proceed with caution!
