If I could give a negative stars, I would. I had the most horrible experience at this hotel. The day before our daughter’s wedding, we arrive to check in and are told that our ro...om was no longer available. Please note that I had reserved and paid for our room, in full and directly through the hotel, 9 months in advance and had called 6 weeks prior to confirm our reservation. All was set until apparently they realized someone booking closer to the date would be willing to pay more for the room than what I had paid. This was a once in a lifetime event - our only daughter was getting married - and the entire bridal party had booked at this hotel. Instead of offering us another room in the hotel, they were continuously checking in other guests that were arriving and offered us a refund. There were no vacancies anywhere near the wedding venue or bridal party- we knew this because several guests were having a difficult time getting rooms and many of them had to drive over an hour to get back home after the wedding. They were going to put us on the street until my husband demanded resolution. They ended up putting us a block down the road at one of their “sister hotels”. We paid over $600 a night for our room and they put us in a $200 a night room. However they did refund us and pay for our room at the other hotel. This is a Hyatt affiliated hotel. I was a Hyatt member, but will NEVER do this hotel or Hyatt again. We called the EJ after we were in our new room to see if we could get a reservation for that night and the rest of the weekend so that I could be near the bridal party while we were dressing for the wedding since all of the other vendors (makeup, photog, video, and coordinators) were scheduled to come to EJ. They had a vacancy and when we provided our name, they put us on hold, never came back, and hung up on us after a 15 minute wait.
Being mother of the bride is already stressful, being a destination wedding added to it, but to get there and be told that my room was no longer available was an insult and the most horrible experience I had ever had. Just an FYI, check in is at 4 pm and we were there for 3:30, so my room was still available- they just put greed above customer service. There was a medical convention in town that weekend and the title “Dr” was more valuable than the title of “Mrs”.
Don’t trust this hotel to take care of you and come through if you are counting on them for a very important event.
