We utilized The Event Co. to rent chairs and a tent for our outdoor wedding ceremony at the House of the Seven Gables in Salem, MA and were very happy with the results. The tent was a contingency item (which we ended up needing due to some rain), and the Event Co. was very good with communication and didn’t require a final decision until 48 hours ahead of delivery. They had an option for a clear tent which was great to not obstruct the views at our venue! Everything was delivered and setup on time, with no drama, which is all we really needed! We definitely would recommend renting through The Event Co.!
We used Rent Tent for our wedding rentals. They are the only vendor allowed to set up tents at our venue, which was encouraging. Based on our venue’s faith in them, we knew that they would at least be trustworthy. They ended up exceeding expectations. Missy was great to work with throughout our planning and accommodated any tweaks that we made along the way. We got the floor plan design option and are so glad we did. That was a game changer - it helped us maximize the space in our tent and visualize how everything would look.
We had a great experience with The Event Company. Missy was so responsive and helpful with all of our questions and the day-off set-up team was so quick and organized. Strongly recommend!
Missy and her team were amazing. They clearly do this all day every day every year and crush it. Missy was engaging, helpful, and efficient with her planning.
She helped me manage up to my caterer who was not as organized and efficient and truly made the day a spectacular time.

Missy and the team were incredible, so glad we hired them! Her communication was great, she offered lots of helpful suggestions and recommendations based on our wedding's size and needs. Every thing was all set up by the time we had arrived at the House of the Seven Gables to start getting ready and it looked great. They made the rentals so stress-free, I didn't have to worry about it at all during the wedding!
They added unnecessary stress to our wedding.
We hired them for our small backyard wedding to supply the tent and furniture. Here is the summary of our experience with them:
- Late to set up tent
- Tent was dirty
- Tent was white, not clear as we specified on the contract
- Took them 4 trips before we had everything we rented in our contract
- Forgot the furniture and were not able to bring it until the following day causing scheduling issues because we had decorators coming to set them up
- Had to call their emergency number to get in touch with them
- Made excuses and were unapologetic and rude in person
- Flaps of tent not secure and flapped loosely, knocking over some decorations and blowing into bartenders back the entire evening
Ultimately, the day was still fantastic and the tent served its purpose, it is just unfortunate they weren't easier to work with.
We paid a deposit as a back up plan in case it rained on our wedding day at the Hellenic Center in Ipswich, MA. We did not end up needing the tent. We gave the 48 hour notice (which was terrifying!) and therefore did not get the tent. Overall, the Event Company (Shout out to Missy!) was extremely helpful and professional throughout our planning process and we are so glad we had them as an insurance plan!
We honestly would give The Event Company over five stars if we could. Their customer service is unmatched and working with Missy made stressful planning feel like a breeze. We used The Event Company for a chair rental for our wedding and also for a tent/tables/bar/lights/etc for our rehearsal dinner the night before our wedding. They set-up everything early giving us plenty of time to finish all our decoration ahead of the rehearsal and even helped move some things around to make our lives easier. Highly recommend The Event Company for any of your planning events! You will be extremely happy that you did and less stressed.
Missy and The Event Co. made our wedding ROCK! We rented a band stage, lighting, tent, tables and more from them. Missy worked with me to get everything done exactly as I had imagined. She was extremely prompt, professional and answered all my million questions.
This is the kind of Vendor you can hire and never second guess yourself or think about it twice. They will take care of you and make sure your vision is realized.
Great vendor to work with. Everyone was very helpful and provided great service. Our wedding setup looked amazing! They were great during the planning process and were very attentive to last minute changes as well. We were really happy with The Event Co.
We chose the Event Company to provide chairs for our ceremony. It was an outdoors ceremony, attended by about 150 people. Missy was great to work with; she helped coordinate date and time of delivery, in addition to providing guidance regarding weather needs. Missy was also very responsive to emails and changing needs whenever they came up. The Event Company was also flexible regarding a delivery mix-up with the ceremony site (there was nobody to receive the chairs) and were able to accommodate delivery for the next day. We highly recommend the Event Company!
Missy and her team at The Event Company were so helpful as my husband and I built our reception somewhat from scratch. They helped us envision and outfit our reception on a dock that required tents, tables, chairs, and lights. They were flexible with our contract even leading up to the week of the wedding. They were affordable and set up the space beautifully.
The Event Company was easy to work with and had the most reasonable quote out of all 20-something vendors who I looked into. Their tent was beautiful, set up expertly (and quickly) and guests commented multiple times on how beautiful the arrangement looked. I would highly recommend working with them.
My experience with The Event Company was very mixed.
Our story:. We rented tent, tables, chairs, benches, heaters, dance floor, and had them use scaffolding to build up a structure adjacent to our wrap-around porch. The idea was to have the area they built up continuous with the porch so that we could use the porch/built structure as the main area for our wedding reception.
The good: I got a quote quickly after the site visit a little over nine months before the wedding Taylor came out to the house to deal with my Father-in-law since I live out of state. Almost all of my questions and (many) changes to the quote went through Missy, the main contact person at the Event Company. I cannot say enough good things about Missy; she always responded promptly to emails, gave me full answers to my questions, and when she didn't know the answer to a question, she would redirect me to Taylor.
The Bad: About four weeks before the wedding, I had some questions about whether we could squeeze in a larger tent in any direction. I sent a detailed layout to the Event Company, which Missy passed on to Taylor to answer my questions. From the vague answers I received, I started to feel like they weren't understanding how I wanted the structure to line up with the house, and thus, asked for another site visit to ensure all would go smoothly. After three weeks of them saying they would come out to the site and not coming, Taylor finally came out to the site a week before the wedding. I was not actually present for the meeting, but from what my FIL said the Event Co. was expecting us to build out the porch ourselves with wood so that there wouldn't be a gap between the porch and the scaffold structure. This was not mentioned at the original site visit (nothing of the porch had changed since January) and thus was VERY unexpected just days before the wedding.
The good thing is that when all was set up (two days before wedding), with over 4 hours of of work from my FIL and uncle to build out the porch, the scaffold structure looked great! I was so happy...only problem was that the dance floor was in the wrong place when I came to inspect their work. One call to Taylor and he kindly send people out the next day to fix it (one day before wedding)
At the rehearsal, I realized I needed a few more benches and an additional heater for the tent. One call to Taylor and he promptly brought them out, which was awesome!
At this point, I would have given the company four stars. It was a lot of stress but in the end, all worked out well, and although getting ahold of Taylor was very difficult in the weeks before the wedding, he completely pulled through with everything as promised and even showed up with extras with almost no notice.
However....We had a dance floor put in on the built up structure. The dance floor actually started to collapse (!) at our wedding as the scaffolding was not placed/supported across enough surface area for the weight distributed on top if it. Luckily, no one was hurt and we quickly transition our dancing onto the porch of the house. However, this meant we could barely use the structure we paid over $1,600 to put in for the wedding. I was HIGHLY disappointed in how the structure held out to normal dancing and surprised that the company didn't reach out to refund us anything after the fact (they saw the damage when they came to pick it up).
Mixed bag overall. Have them set up early and ensure they reinforce structures properly.
Missy and Taylor were amazing! Missy was super responsive to all my emails and Taylor made multiple visits to my venue which eased my nerves. They were very accommodating and easy to work with. I highly recommend using The Event Company for your wedding!
Good party rental company. Rented tented, stage, tables, chairs, etc from The Event Co for our wedding in August 2014. They were the only permitted vendor by our venue so we never compared to other companies.
The Event Co has everything you need and is pretty easy to work with. Everything was setup nicely.
My venue would only allow us to rent our tent from the Event Company - they do a good job of not ripping up the lawn. Since we had to rent the tent from them, we rented all of our lighting, tables, chairs for the ceremony and reception, and the dance floor from them as well. I found them generally to be overpriced -- setup was extra, and their prices seemed to be higher than other local vendors. Additionally, if you paid a deposit on something like a tent, and then changed your mind about what you had ordered, you could not apply the deposit funds to something else.
While I was not thrilled with their pricing, their service was very good. They tolerated a barrage of emails, always replying politely and in a timely manner. They were also helpful with generating planograms to display the layout, and in making recommendations about what was sufficient for lighting, etc. They were very flexible regarding increasing our tent size at the last minute, chasing down a suddenly smaller table, and they even made a great judgment call to take down the tent sides when they did not look as good as planned when gathered up.
Chairs and tables were delivered on-time and as expected.
