Where do I begin? Hiring Melisa as our wedding planner was the best decision we could have made. Melisa worked with us to plan our wedding for almost 1.5 years and she really brought our vision to life - she is the reason why so many of our guests are still talking about how our wedding was “the best and most beautiful they’ve been to”! Melisa is extremely organized/detail-oriented, hard working and fantastic at problem solving. She thinks of and prepares for everything, has a very strong network of vendor partners, and deeply vets all vendors and services to ensure that every aspect of her events are executed to the highest quality possible. She never stopped working until she knew we were 100% happy with the full picture - her tenacity is so impressive! Melisa is also a great listener, flexible, and honest. She is the perfect balance when it comes to wedding planning - leaning more heavily into areas where we needed guidance and creative inspiration, and focusing more on (exceptional) execution in areas where we had solid vision/ideas. And, she never let us make a bad decision! We really appreciated her transparency in telling us if an idea we had was not going to work, not worth the cost, etc. In terms of day-of coordination, Melisa ran our wedding day flawlessly - she is an expert with logistics, and has a confident and calming aura that puts everyone at ease. Throwing a black tie wedding for 200+ people feels easy when Melisa is working her magic. Her events speak for themselves. We couldn’t be happier with how our wedding turned out, and Melisa was just such a pleasure to work with overall. Anybody would be lucky to have Melisa as their wedding planner (or as a planner for any other event). She is the BEST! We’re genuinely going to miss working with her.

Melisa planned an exceptional day for our daughter’s Bat Mitzvah at the Loading Dock. We began working together about 12 months before the event and she helped us choose a venue, DJ, decor, favors, swag—she even helped zip up my gown! Melisa navigated our challenging request for a Kosher-catered kids’ party combined with an Abigail Kirsch-catered adult party. She was able to attend to these dietary needs with ease and sensitivity so that everyone felt accommodated. She also helped us figure out the event timing while respecting our Orthodox guests’ needs around Shabbat. Melisa only recommends well-vetted vendors and was able to introduce us to several at different price points to meet our budget. We loved all her vendors and were impressed by their professionalism and coordination. Melisa speaks fluent teen-ease. She knows all the latest trends for swags, games and decor, and was also able to tell us where we could save and where we should splurge. When Melisa broke her ankle a week before our event, I was worried. But she fully delivered—on wheels! In a scooter, she still managed to make sure every detail of our event went smoothly and on time. I expected there to be mistakes, but honestly, every element of the party was perfect. She coordinated the day-of timing beautifully and made sure I remembered to pack all the little items. Our family was truly able to be present at our party and enjoy our guests. Most importantly, our daughter felt loved and special because of a perfectly planned Mitzvah.

Melisa is an astute professional who had the experience and patience to guide us through six different plans as we prepared a wedding during the pandemic. She was always there to steer us in the right direction and was respectful of family traditions and the likes and dislikes of the bride and groom. Melisa is easy to work with, organized, and detail-oriented -- and she kept us on track with the many, many decisions that had to be made. Melisa also recommended excellent vendors and helped us negotiate for what we wanted and needed. On the night of the wedding, many of our guests told us how pleasant Melisa and her team were and how they helped things run very smoothly. Melisa is the best party planner there is. We have used her for all three of our children’s mitzvahs, the last postponed due to Covid, and she hit it out the park all three times. I have several friends who change party planners after one event and I think it speaks volumes about Melisa that we used her for all 3 of our kids. After a year of waiting, we were finally able to celebrate my son's event! While Melisa was a big help with my daughter's celebration 4 years ago - planning a large party for the latter half of 2021 brought a whole new set of challenges due to COVID. From re-negotiating all the vendor contracts and dates (from mid 2020) to supply chain issues and COVID protocols, Melisa helped us every step of the way. We had a complex party - from a planning/execution perspective - with myriad vendors; all the details were handled with aplomb! It was truly a spectacular event and we greatly thank Melisa for making it happen!

We used Melissa at the last minute to pull together a wedding in 4 weeks! She was great and so organized. She had venders lined up within 2 days. She bought creative ideas to us that we had never considered. Her ability to embrace the Covid environment and still deliver an incredible wedding experience was extraordinary. Vendors were top notch across the board. She added live musicians to a DJ which made such a difference! The flowers were spectacular and so unique. Even my mother in law commented how beautiful and different they were. She and her assistant Maura were committed to the wedding day and handled all those things that came up. It was great to be able to just enjoy the day with family. Everyone had such fun for a small family wedding. At the end of the weekend the best review was from the bride and groom who said it was a perfect wedding event and they were so happy to have had the wedding!

It’s rare to find a business that’s as professional and dedicated as The Event of a Lifetime. Melissa worked closely with my daughter and I to help plan her Sweet Sixteen Party. Unfortunately at the last minute we had to cancel the party due to the pandemic. However, Melissa worked tirelessly with the vendors to help us get refunds and credits. Although we were disappointed that the event didn’t happen, we were grateful that Melissa went above and beyond to help rectify the problem. We look forward to working with her in the future!

Melisa helped to plan our son's Bar Mitzvah three years ago, which was perfection. For our daughter, the complications were vast...we cancelled our original plan due to COVID, moved the celebration to our yard, had to deal with ever changing pandemic rules, throw in the endless number of details for a party at home...the process was overwhelming. The end result was FABULOUS! Melisa not only managed the complex process with extraordinary thought, care and thoroughness....she did an unbelievable job bringing our vision for the party to life - the event was stunning in every way. Our guests - kids and adults - had the best night. Not a single detail was missed. And...she pulled this off on one of the worst weather nights of the season - torrential rain for the entire duration of the party! There is no better planner in the business. We’ve had Melisa’s help with 2 Bat Mitzvahs, 10 years apart… and we’d want Melisa’s help for every event we host in the future… she’s incredible! 3 things: (1) She’s an amazing organizer, making sure that we’re getting the best service at the best price from all of the vendors, and then coordinating their activity. (2) She’s a magical problem-solver, seeming to have found and implemented solutions before we even realized there was problem. From small hiccups (like, the cake delivery van being rear-ended just before reaching our site) to bigger hurdles (like, NYC inspectors shutting down a site just weeks before the event, or a pandemic requiring constant re-thinking of every aspect of a party)… she handles it all; it’s astounding. (3) As importantly, Melisa really listens to how our daughter and we describe hopes for the day, thinks about what we’re “really” saying (even if we don’t realize), and develops a vision that realizes all of that with so much more creativity than we could possibly bring to this ourselves. She’s essential; having her involved allow us to enjoy the day and the time leading up to it, without the headaches and hassles, with the confidence that any unexpected trouble will be resolved, and with memories of an event that will last a lifetime. We couldn’t be more enthusiastic or grateful.

The Event of A Lifetime helped plan my son's backyard Bar Mizvah. COVID drastically changed our plans, and Melissa and her team helped to make our day time and night time party amazing. From the first phone call I had with Melissa, to the final day and set up, she made things run as smoothly as possible. She also made sure I was adhering to all the COVID guidelines in order to keep all my guests safe and healthy. She referred me to vendors that were reasonable in cost and all showed up and did exactly what they said they would. Melisa at Event of A Lifetime, Inc was vital in helping me plan my Castle Chic Summer wedding. She was helpful in organizing the vendors contracts and scheduling the timing of events for all the vendors the day of. Unfortunately Melissa was booked for another event on the day of my wedding, but she helped in every way possible before the event and had someone great cover the day of.
