We could not have been happier to have had our wedding at the Carlsbad Flower Fields! Taylor was so easy to work with in securing the venue. She’s a great communicator and answered all of my questions. The venue is absolutely gorgeous and offers a ton of flexibility, all at a good value. It works well for celebrations large and small. Our wedding was in October, when there were no flowers in the fields but the gardens at the venue still made it beautiful.
We had the most special wedding day as everything was so smooth! Using The Flower Fields venue was the best decision to such a memorable day!
After touring three venues, it was clear to us that the Flower Fields was the clear winner. We were looking for an outdoor venue for a summertime wedding, one that allowed us to choose our own vendors, and one with a lot of natural beauty. We also love that we can go back to visit the Flower Fields when the flowers are in bloom, or for other special events to bring our loved ones in the future.
We had a 125 person wedding in August. The team at the Flower Fields was kind, communicative, and helpful during the planning process. We were able to meet with our coordinator for site visits, as well as visit the venue during other events to get a feel for the space.
Overall, the venue was everything we wanted and hoped for. We utilized most areas of the venue-- the ceremony was on the stage with the fountain, the reception was inside the barn, and we put lawn games out post-ceremony with the photobooth in the Mediterranean Garden. The venue included market lighting, tables, chairs, and a built in bar area. We also picked many vendors from their suggested list that were fantastic!
Any questions?
We had our wedding at the Flower Fields in July of 2022. Taylor, the venue coordinator was amazing! From the beginning she was helpful, clearly explained all the details, and offered suggestions when we asked. The venue fits over 200 people with ease, and we loved that we could bring our own vendors in. Highly recommend.
We just had our wedding at The Flower Fields and it was everything we could have hoped for and more. We had very specific ideas for our wedding, and so we wanted to flexibility to bring in our own vendors for flowers, catering, bar services, etc. The Flower Fields absolutely allowed for that! Plus the event space is very affordable compared to many other wedding venues - and the value you get is incredible! The space is large, they have tables, bar tables and chairs that you can use at no additional cost, and their staff was incredibly helpful the day of the wedding. We are forever grateful that The Flower Fields hosted our wedding!
The Flower Fields are a PERFECT wedding venue. The team is super friendly and easy to work with, their price point is affordable, and the location is beyond beautiful whether you are there in the off-season or during full bloom! We barely had to add any decor to make the reception and ceremony areas look gorgeous in all our photos!
The Flower Fields was such a beautiful venue to have our wedding. Every angle you turn is a perfect background for a photo. This place is magical. The staff is amazing and always willing to help and are super communicative and easy to work with. The barn itself is beautiful. We had limited decorations and it did not matter because the barn was beautiful without them.
The Carlsbad Flower Fields were absolutely perfect! In addition to providing a beautiful setting for our wedding, they have the ideal combination of best-in-class service, ultimate flexibility in choosing your own vendors and bringing your own food and drink, and exceptional value by including tables, chairs, a built-in bar and many other large items that are otherwise costly and cumbersome to rent on your own.
I can't speak highly enough about Taylor, the venue's events manager, who was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, and always quick to respond. The on-site staff during our wedding were also very friendly and helpful, allowing our wedding to take place without a hitch.
The venue is beautiful, with a lovely stage for the ceremony and a spacious barn for the reception, providing a perfect outdoor and indoor setting. Thankfully it didn't rain on us, but the barn is a great backup for the ceremony in case of bad weather. While the flower fields themselves were not in bloom during our wedding (we were well aware that this would be the case upon booking), the wedding area is full of incredible flora year-round. The fields are barely visible from the ceremony area, so I wouldn't worry about that at all when planning on photos, etc. There are more than enough areas to take flower-filled photos, as well as a lookout area for excellent sunset photos.
We were able to book a 7-hour window, with music ending at 11pm...a big sin considering that most venues make you end by 10pm. That extra hour made all the difference in keeping our party going! They also allowed us to store items the night before so we didn't have to worry about making multiple trips to the venue the day of our event.
The Flower Fields allowed us to have a wedding that was truly 'us,' and we can't thank them enough for that. Perfect in every way!
This venue is an absolute dream location for a wedding! At first, I did not consider the Flower Fields as a venue because I thought it might be so crowded and difficult with everyone visiting during peak season, but I was so wrong! Once I finally reached out I realized your event takes place during the hours in which it is closed to the public. We chose to do a first look during their open hours and the staff were absolutely incredible in helping us navigate the fields and getting us to where we needed to be. The fields, the gardens, and the reception barn are absolutely stunning. We were able to customize our entire day by bringing in our own vendors. Every single person we worked with through the Flower Fields were incredibly helpful, responsive, and kind. Having our wedding at the Flower Fields was an absolute dream come true, and I wish I could do it over and over again!
We just had our wedding at the Flower Fields this past May and are still over the moon. The venue could not have been lovelier, nor could the staff. The flowers were uncharacteristically good this season, so they remained open to the public on the weekend of the wedding. The venue was exceptional about managing our schedule with theirs so that we experienced zero inconveniences. Furthermore, they could not have been easier to work with regarding our vendors. They've recently done some perfect renovations (new market lighting & renovated bathrooms) which really improved the space from when we first looked at it a year ago. The fields natural floral beauty enabled us to save thousands at the florist, and the venue itself was more reasonably priced than I could have imagined. I would not have changed a thing about the venue.
The Flower Fields was my dream venue and still can’t believe we had our wedding reception there.
When my husband and I reached out to Taylor about using the venue, she was so kind and answered all of our silly questions. Not once did she seem annoyed but made us feel comfortable as we planned on how to customize the venue.
The venue itself was so beautiful, even when the actual ranunculus flower fields were not in season. Had our wedding in the beginning of July, but the venue area had beautiful flower gardens with fun sculptures! So you wouldn’t even notice the empty flower fields.
The barn itself is empty except for the market lights. But that allowed us to customize the space, making our vision come to life. With help of our coordinator, we brought in all of our desired vendors (approved by The Flower Fields), and created an event that we could treasure.
The Flower Fields staff were amazing, and were on standby with a golf cart in case any guests needed rides (we also got a ride in the golf cart). :)
The only tidbit I’d add is that depending on the weather and guest count, the barn will need fans. When we had our reception, the temperature was a wonderful 73 degrees with gentle winds. We thought the wind would come into the barn since the doors are wide, but it did not. We had 150 guests in the barn so it made it very stuffy and hot.
Other than that, we absolutely loved The Flower Fields as a venue. Even the local guests had no idea that such an amazing venue existed. We would highly recommend it for anyone to have their wedding there.
The Flower Fields was an amazing venue to have our wedding at. It is non-traditional in the sense that the venue doesn't require you to use specific vendors. That is exactly what we wanted. We got to bring our own alcohol, had food trucks, and churros for dessert. This was the only place that we found that could accommodate us.
The staff was super helpful with everything. From the time we inquired about the space until even now (2 weeks after), Taylor who manages the space has been in touch with us. I would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend this space for anyone looking to hold an event.
We had to postpone our wedding due to the pandemic, but it was so worth the wait! Our wedding day at The Flower Fields was magical! Taylor was wonderful to work with throughout the whole planning process, helping to coordinate our postponement and all of our vendors. The Flower Fields was the perfect place to bring in all of the vendors that we wanted in order to incorporate the special pieces of our personalities to create the wedding of our dreams!!
So incredibly happy we chose the Flower Fields for our wedding venue, the most gorgeous day ever. All of our guests could not stop talking about what a unique and fantastic venue it was. Taylor and all of FF staff were communicative and so helpful leading up to the wedding and on the wedding day. It was so great being able to pick out all of our own vendors. The recommended day of coordinator, Jenny, was worth every single penny. We absolutely loved our wedding at the Flower Fields and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to plan a wedding!
I had an absolutely incredible wedding last weekend - and I gotta say, a big part of the success was the venue. The scenery is gorgeous, the venue is enormous with a diversity of spaces that can be used for any number of things (the Mediterranean Garden became a greeting area, which later became a photo booth area), you can bring your own vendors, they provide tables + chairs + umbrellas + lighting and set it up and take it down for you, you can set up time for rehearsal a day or two beforehand for free (though this might not be the case if you have a spring wedding), the paperwork and expectations are reasonable...I could go on and on. It's also so so so affordable for the area. Many of my east coast friends and family said that they would consider having an event out here just because of how awesome the Flower Fields are. I would very highly recommend this venue.
The Flower Fields provides an excellent venue to host weddings!
We had great communication through their coordinator, Taylor, who was very helpful in planning our wedding layout, working with all of our vendors, and allowing us to build our dream wedding. Taylor was able to meet us several times at the venue and also gave us the opportunity to have a separate photo shoot at the flower fields.
The main stage area was large enough for over 200 of our guests to sit during our ceremony and also seat for dinner inside the barn. We had to tape our aisle runner down to the concrete because we couldn't get stakes to stay in the gravel. The entrance to the barn is a perfect open area where we placed our dance floor, which really opened up the space as our dancing spilled outside.
We were able to have two photo booths, a table for flower crowns, a caricature artist, and cornhole in the Mediterranean garden and picnic area. We have a charcuterie station setup in the bar area. The Fire Pit in the bar area was also nice as it cooled off toward the end of our night. There is a playground on site which made our wedding very kid friendly!
We booked our wedding day on the Monday of labor and were able to set up our decorations the day before. The Ranunculus flowers that normally cover the fields weren't in bloom, but we did get a discount compared to the in season wedding cost!
The Flower fields has a good list of recommended vendors which we hired from, they were familiar with the venue and were able to make the wedding day setup go very smoothly. The Flower Fields also has 200 chairs and over 50 tables available which reduced the amount of items we needed to rent.
The overall experience we had and the value for our money was great and we are so happy to have had our dream wedding where so many of our family and close friends could enjoy!
I would HIGHLY recommend having your wedding at the flower fields barn. I was searching for a long time for a rustic venue that was still locally in San Diego and the barn was perfect. You can bring in all your own vendors and you have a lot of access to the venue for your vendors to load in and out. My husband and I could not have been happier with how it turned it. The space was beautiful and the staff was very accommodating and responsive.
Seriously so amazing. Our wedding turned out beautiful. We are so thankful the Carlsbad Flower Fields hosted our wedding. They were so great at responding on a timely manner. They set up all the tables and chairs for us. They went above and beyond expectations. Definitely book with the Carlsbad flower fields for your event. As a bride they took off so much stress from my plate.
The Flower Fields in Carlsbad is a gorgeous venue from the colorful flowers in the background to the white gazebo with stone water wall behind it to the large barn with market lighting to the illuminating firepit that lights up the built-in bar... everything was just plain magical. This is the perfect place for a wedding with outdoor options for both the ceremony and reception though we chose to do dinner inside the barn with COVID we did everything else outdoors on their very spacious grounds. They even have a garden area for smaller weddings, but this venue can accommodate anywhere from 10 - 350 guests, so there are a lot of options. The coordinator, Taylor, was a pleasure to work with and very responsive to get back to our questions and needs. She is very informative and can give suggestions for all your vendor needs since this venue is completely DIY. They do supply tables and chairs which is one less thing to rent but otherwise you can bring in all your own vendors which makes it have a very personal touch which we loved. The wedding day of staff were great to work with too! We would highly recommend this venue for weddings and even other events.
Let me first start by saying that my first experience at The Flower Fields was amazing and actually had me hoping to one day get engaged there. Fast forward a few years and my fiancé and I are actually planning our wedding at The Flower Fields! We were beyond excited, but still had some questions, especially with COVID still being a prominent factor.
In September, we had our first meeting with Taylor Bornemann who explicitly informed us that because we were renting out the entire space for our special day, it was ours to mandate. She stated that masks were not required and that the number of guests we had was not going to be limited. We couldn’t believe our luck and we booked that very same day for our wedding in May!
Our next major meeting was in January and we were welcomed with the same information regarding COVID as we walked the grounds with our DJ/coordinator. We were all told that everything is still looking great for us. We are even shown where we can set up tables for the reception and dance floor! This was the latest information we were equipped with before everything went completely awry.
April 6, 2021, just 40 days before our wedding, I am sent an emailing stating the exact opposite of everything we’ve been planning for. We were told that they were suddenly going to be following the States’s guidelines very strictly. This meant we were in the orange tier and could only have 50 guests. At this point, we had already sent out 120 invitations. We were also told that there would be strict seating arrangements with no movement during the reception. Of course we were completely devastated and confused by this sudden information. The more clarity we tried to find out as to what changed and how we could try and to compromise moving forward, the more we were met with apologies on behalf of the State for the inconvenience. However, no responsibility was taken for the active misinformation given to us. In fact, the response we got said we should have known that the last time we went to the venue with our DJ we were actually in purple and no receptions were even allowed at that time! Crazy, especially because that entire meeting was about the reception!
We tried to go above Taylor’s head to try and get some insight as to what happened and the first lady we spoke with, Jonie, was completely disrespectful. She just kept saying, “You know we’re in a pandemic right?!” Of course, we know, the entire planet knows! The point is, we were told throughout the entire process that DESPITE the COVID pandemic, this would not impede on us having the wedding we wanted. By the time we spoke with someone in charge by the name of Jim, we were at least listened to, but still told they wouldn’t budge on anything. We were even told that if for some reason the State was back in the red tier, then we would have to cut our guest list again from 50 down to 25.
This entire process of intentionally withheld information forced us to find a new venue, send out new invites, and relocate all of our vendors to a new space. All this to say, any future bride and groom looking to hold their wedding at The Flower Fields should ask detailed questions concerning the COVID regulations of this space and follow up on a regular basis. We were disappointed at the lack of concern on their end and would currently not recommend this space to anyone.
We had originally booked our wedding at the Carlsbad Flower Fields for June 13 2020, but we had to postpone 3 times before finally deciding to cancel due to the Covid situation. Joni and Taylor at the Flower Fields were so kind and empathetic throughout this whole difficult process. While our circumstances didn't allow us to actually host our wedding here, I would recommend the Carlsbad Flower Fields to anyone.
They are located in a great spot with easy access to a hotel directly across the street. You are able to bring in your own vendors (including alcohol), allowing you complete control and flexibility as well as significant cost savings. The venue itself is gorgeous, since the flowers eliminate your need for a lot additional decor. You have access to the entire outdoor gardens as well as a beautiful barn space. The value for money is unbeatable. Above all, I cannot praise Joni and Taylor enough, they are incredibly responsive and a dream to work with.
Although I was unable to have my wedding here, I look forward to seeing every single weekend in 2021 and beyond booked with a wedding.
We absolutely loved the venue and the whole atmosphere so did our guests. Our guests were so surprised and amazed that you can even have events at the Flower Fields. They always assumed that it was just another tourist attraction but after having our wedding there, now others want to have their events there as well. The Flower Fields checked off all our boxes from outside catering, to open seating plans, rustic atmosphere, to flexibility in set up and break down time, to the openness of the entire venue. It was all we were looking for in a venue. We loved working with Joni and Taylor and the fact that they were an email, text or phone call away day or night really helped me and my husband. We were really grateful and blessed to have worked with them and everyone at the Flower Fields. Thank you to everyone who helped set up, break down, clean up and prep for our special day. You all are amazing!!
Cannot say enough good about our venue. Laid back, barn vibe. Able to bring in our own vendors and save money. Chairs and tables included and such a kind team working with us all night. Everyone loved the vibe, ate well (BBQ), and danced late. Gorgeous even in the off season. Wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else!
Our wedding at the flower fields was beyond perfect! Everything is so beautiful, the staff is extremely helpful, and everything went so smoothly! The grounds are so beautiful, you barely even need to decorate!
This was a beautiful venue for our wedding! Even during the off-season it was great!! The coordinator Joni was very quick to respond to every email and was very helpful along the way. Jonathon was also helpful as we secured insurance from every vendor, which is a requirement. The fact that this place provides you complementary tables and chairs (including the set up based on your diagram) AND that you get access to the barn the day before to set up is incredible! I didn't find another venue that provided so much. The built in bar, market lights and cute photo op areas throughout the venue makes this place a dream wedding location. Every one of our guests raved about the beauty of this venue. And if you have out of town guests, you can't beat the location on the coast! The venue does require you to have a day-of coordinator, but honestly, I can't imagine having a wedding without one anyways.
Amazing venue. I was the first wedding after a recent remodel and everything turned out perfectly! Hired Jackie as a day-of wedding coordinator which was the best decision on my life! Took all of the stress off of my shoulders!
I could not have asked for a better wedding. I was lucky enough to stumble upon the Flower Fields as an option while I was researching wedding locations. The best surprise was getting Jackie as our wedding coordinator through my contact with the Flower Fields. Even though we chose the off season in January and the flowers weren't blooming, the little side gardens were still lush with greenery. It was the perfect venue for us! The perfect mix of indoor and outdoor. Large enough for us to fit our 130 guests very easily... comfortable enough for even a conga line! I cry happy tears thinking about my perfect wedding day.
Beautiful venue! I loved having my wedding at the flower fields, however there were lots of people who stood RIGHT BEHIND my wedding ceremony and ruined many of the pictures. Every single person who steps on the flower fields property related to your wedding has to carry insurance and also has to name the flower fields and like 5 other places as insured. This was a MAJOR hassle in the weeks leading up to the wedding. Just a heads up!
I had a 10k budget, with 400 people invited and no idea where I could hold such a wedding. My now husband, found the famous Flower Fields holds weddings, and I thought it was way out of reach. Turns out I was wrong... We held it off season (no flowers in the fields, but still BEAUTIFUL gardens and foilage) and it was only 3300! Not only were we able to use all of our vendors, we were able to go in the day before to decorate. They also allowed us to use all of their tables, which cut out tons of extra cost. Joni there is the sweetest thing to work with. The facility is stunning all decorated up, and the barn was perfect for my theme. The only thing I would ding it on, is that they had trimmed a lot of trees the day before the wedding and didn't clean up the left overs. When we asked them too for our pictures, they simply put them in piles, which actually made it worse.
Overall though... AWESOME!
