About this vendor
A Historical Venue with Contemporary Touches
The Foundry is a historically-rich wedding venue in Long Island City, NY. Originally used for manufacturing fine steel varnishes, this property has been carefully renovated to give couples a unique place to exchange their vows. Each event space at this picturesque setting boasts its own unique aesthetic, ranging from elegant to rustic.
First built in the 19th century, The Foundry was actively operating until 1906, catering for the state’s riverfront needs. In 1980, the Du Val family carefully restored the building’s interior to celebrate its bygone era, and opened their doors to soon-to-be-weds in 2001. Visitors will now have multiple indoor and outdoor events spaces to enjoy their energy-filled celebration. The main space boasts an industrial chic atmosphere, with exposed brick surrounding the ground floor and mezzanine. Your ceremony altar can be placed in front of the large window for a lush view backdrop. Their courtyard offers brick walls covered in ivy that blooms during the spring and summer months. Up to 180 people can enjoy the views of the Queensboro Bridge from this breathtaking setting. For more intimate gathering, the Greenhouse offers weathered brick walls, a skylight ceiling, and year-round greenery. Cocktail hours can be hosted in either the elegant Albra Room, or the open-air Terrace, which both offer stunning views of the city.
The team behind The Foundry will connect you with their list of trusted vendors, from decor rentals to caters, to complete your nuptial vision. Your culinary team will have full access to the onsite industrial kitchen, which has plenty of preparation space to perfect your menu items. At least three staff members will be present on your big day, to answer your guests’ questions and ensure everything goes as smoothly as possible.

My daughter’s wedding was at The Foundry. Words cannot describe what an incredible venue this is. The staff is unbelievably attentive, kind, passionate, thoughtful and responsive. The experience was beyond my expectations. If you are looking for a unique, breathtaking venue this is it.
The Foundry was an absolute dream venue for us. When we were researching venues, we almost didn’t go visit because we knew that we would likely be in love with it in-person even more than just from the photos and we were worried we wouldn’t be able to make the budget work. After seeing it, even on a cloudy and cold February day, we knew we didn’t want to get married anywhere else. While it was pricier than other places we looked at, it was worth it. The venue feels like a pocket of fairtyale surrounded with views of the city. Angela and Lindsey were great to work with even through a postponement and helped us reconfigure our day when the weather took a turn for the cold. We have absolutely no regrets. Thank you so much to the team!
We hosted my daughter's wedding here last weekend. It was absolutely magical! So accommodating and easy to work with.
Any questions?
The Foundry is one of the most beautiful places in NYC, and we are so lucky to have had our wedding there. We toured a lot of places in Brooklyn and Queens, and The Foundry absolutely blew them out of the water. It is GORGEOUS, industrial but romantic and welcoming, and the coolest space for you to create whatever vibe you want. I loved the untraditional flow of our wedding - going from room to room throughout the night kept the guests on their toes, and let them really explore all that the venue had to offer. I have gotten so many compliments about how beautiful and unique the space is! Angela and Lindsey are also fabulous - accommodating, kind, flexible, and really know their stuff. They have seen it all and know all the different ways you can use the venue, so their advice and guidance while planning was so helpful. Plus, The Foundry works with some of the most fabulous vendors in NYC. Almost everyone who worked my wedding was already friends, and they're working together constantly, so the event ran totally seamlessly. Having a "blank space" venue can be intimidating, but being able to create something special that you show to all your family and friends on the most important day of your life is so incredibly rewarding. If you have a vision, and are looking for a ridiculously beautiful venue to create the wedding of your dreams, look no further than The Foundry.
We had the most beautiful, romantic, and dreamy wedding we couldn’t ever imagined at the Foundry! Everyone was amazing to work with and super accommodating when we had to postpone our wedding due to covid. The best night of our lives in the most stunning venue!
The Foundry is NYCs best kept, big secret. The space is gorgeous and whimsical. Every square inch is prettier than the next there are endless possibilities of what you can do with the venue that the sky is the limit. All angles are photogenic and charming. It's spotless and grows more beautiful throughout the day.
There are multiple pockets at the venue that you can opt to rent for your event. Each unique room transforms your event into a new and intimate setting. Everything from the Main Space, The Green Room, Albra Room, and the Pool Room help ensure that your event is unforgettable. The Foundry has multiple terraces that are worth visiting and investing in as well. It's like finding a fairytale inside of Manhattan. It truly is a stunning contrast between the natural and industrial elements. Our guests can't stop raving about the gorgeous space and to us, it was a dream.
Beyond raving about the space itself, The Foundry has two of the sweetest and most hard-working employees that represent the space. Angela and Lindsey were incredible from our initial visit right through to our wedding day. They are extremely welcoming, detail orientated, have a wealth of knowledge, and communicative. They quickly responded to emails, and patiently answered every question we had. Both Angela and Lindsey are the dream team that ensures that everything in the space goes off without a hitch. Both are so helpful and lovely, and an absolute joy to work with. Together they helped make our perfect day the day it was and as stress-free as possible.
If you are considering this venue for your event, we highly recommend it. We know the idea of the raw space could be intimidating but having the opportunity to create an authentic space filled with all your loved ones is an indescribable feeling. Especially if it comes packed with a list of the best vendors in the city and the two hardest-working employees in the industry.
We love The Foundry and know you will too.
After two years of planning chaos and having to change our wedding venue 3x due to Covid, we landed at the Foundry and it was the best decision of our lives. We only had two months to plan our wedding which is no easy feat when you book a raw space and have to bring in multiple vendors. The Foundry staff however (Angela & Lindsey specifically) made it such a smooth and seamless planning process. They answered all of our questions in a very timely manner and were just super helpful overall. They were so pleasant to work with during what was an incredibly stressful time for us rushing to plan our wedding.
The venue speaks for itself and you can do so many different things (we had ceremony inside, cocktail hour and first part of reception outside, and then moved back into the main space for partying & dancing later), and have had nothing but extremely positive feedback from our guests. HIGHLY recommend this venue and could not have asked for a better day!
My husband and I got married at the Foundry on August 24, 2019. Our entire experience from start to finish was exceptional. The Foundry team is professional, responsive, and a pleasure to work with. It was very clear from the beginning that they were pros and knew exactly what they were doing (unlike other venues we met with). It can be very overwhelming understanding the wedding planning process, but they made it as seamless as possible. They always responded to my question quickly and accommodated any requests I made. In the days leading up to our wedding, we had a final run though with Angela and our caterer. It helped tie up loose ends and truly put my stress at ease. Aside from the amazing the team, the venue itself is gorgeous. To this day, we still have family and friends tell us how beautiful it was. Our day was so special. I can’t recommend the Foundry enough!!
The Foundry is an amazing space that strikes a balance between industrial (exposed brick, metal) and soft and polished (ivy covering the walls and beautifully finished spaces that aren't too rustic). It is also an extremely flexible space as they have multiple rooms that you can choose to rent or not for your event. The entire space is yours for your event (they don't put anything else in the rooms that you don't use). One of our biggest reasons for booking The Foundry is their greenhouse, which has walls covered in ivy on the inside. We had our wedding in January and were really excited that we would have some greenery! The staff is very professional and easy to work with. We were so delighted with how our wedding turned out.
We just got married 7/10/2020 as the first COVID wedding held at the Foundry! The experience was unbelievable - we were able to have a 30 person party and socially distance using the main space, courtyard and terrace. What a gorgeous venue! We went from booking the space and planning to holding our small wedding within a month. Angela was incredible - so easy to work with, very fast on responses, and understanding of the position we have been in. As a bride who had to reschedule her original wedding/venue twice at this point, the Foundry was a complete dream and the silver lining of the current situation we are all in.
This venue is a dream. We had looked at a few venues around the city searching for a space with an industrial hint to it. I knew we would love it by seeing the photos alone but once we walked into our scheduled tour, we immediately fell in love with it. It’s beautiful on its own but you can really transform the space to any look you’re going for. The venue allowed for us to have the ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner reception in 3 different spaces, which a lot of the other industrial spaces in the city didn’t offer. Our guests were all taken back by the beauty of each space. Our wedding wes in September and the weather was perfect for candlelight dinner alfresco in the courtyard. At first, I was overwhelmed with the fact that you need to separately hire each of your vendors but in the end we were able to get exactly what we wanted by assembling our own team. Angela and Lindsey were so awesome. They answered all of my emails with many questions very quickly, always making me feel as if we were their only clients when in fact they are pretty much booked every weekend over a year in advance. Their suggestions were so helpful when it came to layouts and considerations for a rain plan. I definitely recommend this venue. You’ll fall in love at first sight during any season.
We looked at 10 venues before coming to the Foundry, and when we walked in, we knew we had found the one. The industrial Long Island City neighborhood literally disappears when you enter the Foundry. The venue’s industrial-yet-refined spaces and gorgeously planted courtyard make you feel like you left the hustle of the city – the view of the Queenborough Bridge towers from the courtyard are the only reminder you’re a stone throw from Manhattan. The Foundry is a blank canvas (which is great in that you can pick everything you want, but can add to the work in planning your event), and its different rooms, terraces and courtyard offer many options to make your dream wedding come true. The foundry staff—Allison, Angela, and Lindsey—are experienced and responsive and will work with you to make sure your day is perfect. We were able to utilize several spaces for our wedding, including a divine dinner in the courtyard as the sun set and an incredible dance party in the main space. This place is special and transports you away from NYC to a magical place (with incredible views) for your wedding or event.
Book quickly as The Foundry is popular and only does one event per day (another added benefit, not sharing the space with anyone). I could not imagine having our wedding anywhere else in NYC.
Best NYC wedding venue!!! Beautiful view and venue; the wedding turned out perfectly. Angela and Lindsey were so easy to work with and were very attentive to all of our questions and requests.
The Foundry is such a special and breath-taking venue. There isn’t a space in it that doesn’t have its own unique charm. There are so many possibilities of what to do there and how to design your event – it helps to hire a planner or co-ordinator to help organise everything as it is a raw space. We ended up using the Main Space, Courtyard and Greenhouse for our guests as well as the Terrace for photos. We had to make some last-minute changes on the afternoon due to unexpected weather conditions, but the staff were so friendly, quick and professional that no one could have possibly known we hadn’t planned the new arrangements. Lindsey and Angela, in particular, were amazing from our initial visit all the way through to our wedding day. They quickly responded to emails, answered every question we had and were so helpful and lovely on the day. They were an absolute joy to work with and made everything as stress-free as possible.
Almost three months later, our guests still rave about how they loved the venue and couldn’t believe we’d found such a unique space. It reminded us of a secret garden, and it seems impossible to take a bad photo there due to the beautiful lighting, intimate setting, and the stunning contrast between the natural and industrial elements. Our wedding day still feels like this wonderful dream.
Words cannot begin to describe how incredible the Foundry is. My wife and I had our wedding there and it made the event a one of a kind experience. We held our ceremony in the Main Space with 120 guests and it was perfectly intimate and cozy without being cramped. The structure of the space allowed our guests to flow naturally into the Greenhouse for cocktail hour while we took photos on the Terrace, which was stunning. The greenery of the entire venue gave our wedding the natural feel we wanted and the bricks and views of the city and complemented this nicely with a rustic urban touch. We worked primarily with Angela and Lindsey throughout our planning process, which was an absolute pleasure. They are both informative, responsive, and always had great suggestions when we needed guidance. They ensured that everything came together smoothly and made the entire experience stress free. We highly recommend renting the space - it will transform your event into a memory that you will cherish forever.
The venue is completely stunning and Angela & Lindsey were fantastic to work with. They were responsive, helpful, and flexible, making our wedding day enjoyable and so much fun! The Foundry was a dream venue and we're so happy we chose it for our wedding.
The Foundry is the perfect canvas for couples to have complete creative freedom to design their wedding. The space is ABSOLUTELY stunning and our guests still rave about how we found this gem in Long Island City. The staff is very professional and very well equipped to answer any & all questions you may have. I couldn't have picked a better space to have our wedding - til this day it feels like a dream!
My then fiance and I fell in love with The Foundry the minute we walked in the door and we always knew the space would be exactly what we wanted. And it was. What we didn't know then, was how amazing the staff would be, particularly on our wedding day. Angela always seemed to be around when we needed an extra hand, or a little guidance. The team made sure that the space was the best it could be and helped vendors as needed. We could not have asked for anything more.
Not only is the foundry absolutely stunning and unique, but the staff is so great. They are dedicated, easy to work with and genuinely care about making your event amazing. We wouldn't have wanted to get married anywhere else.
The Foundry was the venue that my wife and I held our wedding at and it might be a bit biased of me to say so, but one of the most breathtaking venues that I've seen in NYC. There's a lot of flexibility in how you can arrange your wedding based on which rooms you use and what sort of meal service you have for your wedding. The employees at the venue are great, they respond quickly by email, provide a lot of information and allow you to stop by as many times as necessary for family/vendors to take a look. They let us drop off a bunch of ceremony and reception decor items two days prior to our wedding and let us pick up leftover food the morning after our wedding. The biggest restrictions with The Foundry are that your caterer must come from their list of caterers and the rentals must be handled by the caterer through Broadway Party Rentals (things like string lighting and such that Broadway Party Rentals do not provide are handled by you and can come from other rental companies). I do recommend getting a coordinator, though, as the venue being just a raw event space, there will be a lot of little items to coordinate as the big day approaches.
The Foundry is absolutely the most magical place in Long Island City. With its rustic touches and gorgeous ivy walks, it is the perfect setting for any event. Our wedding was truly one-of-a-kind and Angela and Lindsey held our hands the entire way through the process of building our vision. The list of vendors was VITAL and we used it as our bible. They provided us with professional, talented and experienced vendors that have worked in the space a thousand times and that was an absolute relief. Whether we called Angela and Lindsey or wrote emails, they were able to get back to us immediately. They were professional, patient and able to accommodate all of our requests. During the walk through, they helped us layout a timeline that took advantage of the spaces in every way and made sense for the wedding festivities. Our friends and family are still complimenting us on our choice to use The Foundry!
What can I say, it is a stunning venue. It was the perfect place for our wedding as we really wanted to avoid that cookie cutter, typical wedding. My now husband and I live in London and Angela & Lindsay were so accommodating, answering emails promptly and ensuring that when we were in NY we were able to pop by the space to see it or for meetings with our coordinator Tall & Small Events and caterer Bonbite.
It seriously is a beautiful space, you definitely get what you pay for though and we rented the courtyard (for dinner), greenhouse (ceremony, bar & photobooth), main space (cocktail hour, dancing), terrace (cocktail hour) and duval terrace (photos - seriously stunning!). So as you can imagine the costs mounted pretty quickly but we wouldn't have changed a thing. Lindsay was also super helpful with recommendations as well - they have a great list of suppliers. Honestly, best day of our lives and everyone LOVED the space and commented how stunning it was and we really didn't have to do much to make it look good!
There aren't enough kind things to say about the Foundry. The venue was fantastic, the staff (Angela and Lindsey) were amazing, and the space was simply magical. Our guests had a fantastic time and the day went off without a hitch!
We booked basically every space you could book in the Foundry itself - the Greenhouse, the courtyard, the terrace, and the pool room. I highly recommend booking the pool room as a getting ready space. It was an awesome place for me and my groomsmen to hang out while we were getting dressed. It also made a useful place to store stuff throughout the day.
The terrace was super nice, and was something our guests remarked on constantly. My only advice for the terrace would be that it's a tiny bit hidden - so make sure you put something awesome out there to give your guests a reason to check it out! (We set up a special whiskey tasting bar out there, which was a big hit)
All in all, the Foundry was an amazing space for our wedding. We couldn't be happier with it - and our guests had a fantastic time.
We had our wedding at The Foundry on July 8th 2017 and it was nothing short of magical. From our first visit to the venue, we fell in love with its raw industrial beauty, even as a blank space. We saw it in the winter sans ivy with snow on the ground and still fell in love, then seeing it in the summer in full greenery splendor it was really incredible! Angela and Lindsay at The Foundry were amazing from our first meeting, allowing us to also come with our moms to see the space at a later date as well and later for a walkthrough with vendors. They were always so sweet and accommodating whether in person or via email. The day of our wedding everything went off without a hitch. The space was even more beautiful with our decorations added. We rented the main space (ceremony & for dancing/reception), Greenhouse (cocktail hour/bar room), and courtyard (dinner under a clear tent) and the flow was perfect for our about 110 person wedding. We took photos on the terrace which was spectacular with the NYC views! We chose not to rent it out for the cocktail hour because we had the Greenhouse and part of the courtyard, but it is worth checking out as well. I CAN'T WAIT FOR MY PROFESSIONAL PHOTOS! As I said before, the space is so beautiful on it's own but once you dress it up it's really spectacular. I must admit, it is daunting, renting EVERYTHING, but it is so worth it in the end. We received so many compliments on how cool/unique/different the venue was, which was exactly what we wanted, a non-cookie cutter catering hall wedding, and that's exactly what we achieved. If that is what you want, don't hesitate to check out The Foundry!!!
A big thank you to the amazing staff for making our wedding a day to remember. Also, shoutout to the staff that was so nice to meet despite me not feeling well during the wedding, much appreciated :)
Love,
Christina & Derek
If you’re looking for a unique space that will blow away your guests, this is the place. It’s unassuming when you arrive, but each of our family and friends were amazed by this little oasis in the middle of industrial LIC. It’s a photographer and videographers dream (both of ours were giddy when we told them our venue), which means you’ll have some incredible photos to look back on.
The moment we walked into this space, we knew that we had found our venue. We had looked at a few other venues with a similar style (Green Building, Liberty Warehouse), but the architecture of the main space, versatility of the courtyard and the beauty of the greenhouse made The Foundry standout above the rest.
The staff is incredibly friendly, very responsive and are full of tips and ideas on how you can transform the space into what you want it to be. If we had questions, they were quick to answer and were always happy to help – this came in extremely handy when trying to sort through the mess of choosing vendors. We mostly worked with Angela and Lindsey, and they were amazing. We would often find a reason to stop in from time to time if we were in the area, and they were always there to walk us through it all.
Now, it’s not cheap, especially since it’s a blank space and you’re responsible for bringing in everything else (tables, chairs, caterer, etc.), but if you’re looking to get married in NYC, nothing is cheap. And the great part of working with a blank space is that you have the ability to make it whatever you want it to be. That alone makes it completely worth it.
I fell in love with this place the moment I walked in. I researched venues when we got engaged and we wanted a unique space. This place was everything we wished for and more.
The space is nice, but we had some issues trying to see the place. We arrived for our scheduled appointment to discuss options/pricing, and no one was there to meet us. We stayed at the venue for an hour looking around and never saw one person who worked there. We called the number we had numerous times, and heard it ringing in the building. Very disappointing, and honestly pretty strange.
Couldn't have asked for better! We primarily worked with Julie and Angela for our 10/10/2015 wedding at the foundry. The team and venue was more than accommodating for all pre-wedding visits with bridesmaids and when my mom was in town. They always answered email questions quickly. They are real professionals and made the big day come together with ease. Angela was my day-of person and she nailed it! She handled any issues, kept the pace moving, and made sure all decorations and requests were handled just as I asked. Thanks for everything!!
The Foundry is a remarkable wedding venue. It is one of the most magnificent places in all of New York City to host a wedding and was the most memorable feature of our big day in late September. Each room and outdoor space beholds exquisite beauty, which can't be said for most industrial wedding venues, and was undoubtedly the most perfect setting for our festive early fall affair. The Foundry has such incredible industrial charm and urban vibe while simultaneously transporting you to an out-of-this-world, ivy-covered dreamscape. In addition to being absolutely stunning, The Foundry has a terrific staff. They were all quite wonderful to work with. They were responsive, detail-oriented and flexible while still adhering to contract guidelines (most of which exist to protect the historical integrity of the property and sustain its purpose as an event site). The Foundry does come at a price, but if an unforgettable, truly authentic NYC wedding is what you have in mind, The Foundry is well worth the cost.
I truly cannot say enough good things about the Foundry! It is a truly special place, with not only beautiful structure but the ability to create the exact wedding of your dreams. The space is completely raw, so if you are up to task all the details of your wedding can be completely customized to your vision. At first, the idea of having to bring in everything was overwhelming but I am so happy we did because every last detail was chosen by my husband and myself. It was such a true representation of us and what we wanted. We rented the main space, courtyard, greenhouse, and the roof for photos. Each space was well worth the added costs and just so beautiful. All of my guests were in awe of the Foundry and had never seen anything quite like it.
Working with the Foundry team was so easy and great. They are all experts in what they do and so helpful. We worked with Angela the most, and she was so helpful. At our wedding you would have never known she was there – but she was very easy to reach when we needed her and super quick to help! She worked very closely with out caterer to ensure my husband and I did not have to worry about anything. We were able to enjoy our day and for that I am truly grateful.
The Foundry was the first venue we looked at and I instantly fell in love. I am so happy we chose it – such a stunning, special place to hold such a special day.
A BIG thank you to Angela and the Foundry for helping us create our dream wedding! The Foundry is a one of a kind space and a true gem. It is a raw space rental, so we were able to customize our wedding to make it very "us." We rented the main space and the terrace for our September 2014 wedding. With approximately 115 guests the main space was very comfortable for dinner and dancing (even Greek dancing!). We used the terrace for cocktail hour - which the guests loved, they took photos of the skyline and all the lush plantings. If my budget permitted, I would have loved to rent the greenhouse too - it is a really cool indoor space adjacent to the main room.
Working with Angela was great. She was extremely kind, calm, and professional. She worked with us along the way to make our vision a reality. When the big day came, we barely knew she was there, but she was coordinating with our DOC and making sure everything ran smoothly. At the end of the day my husband and I were extremely happy - we actually got to enjoy our own wedding!
The location of the Foundry is actually quite convenient. There are several hotels nearby - we had guests stay at the Hotel Z (two blocks away). It's about a 10 minute walk from Queensboro Plaza so our local guests had access to public transit. For guests that drove, there was plenty of onstreet parking available. Western Queens is known for its food options especially Astoria, so we were able to find a local caterer that did Greek food - which was phenomenal. Our guests also enjoyed their weekend in the Astoria/LIC area - lots of great and unique restaurants and cool neighborhoods - also convenient to get to Manhattan.
I highly recommend the Foundry - best wedding venue in the NYC area! Thank you!!!
Aug 31st was my wedding. It was amazing, much more then I thought it was going to be. Gena, was one of the host/ event planners. It was pouring down with rain and I was freaking out, because my ceremony was being held in the court yard w/o a tent. She always kept me informed on what was going on with the weather conditions as well as keeping me calm. Everything worked out, right before walking down the aisle the sun came out and dried up the rain. Gena was always sweet, personable, informative, professional and just a breath of fresh air. I never had a worry when she was around. The event space was beautiful. I loved that rustic but new feel about it. All of my guest loved the space. I will definitely be holding another event here in the future.
The Foundry has to be one of the most STUNNING backdrops to exchange vows in NYC. The contrast between industrial beams and rustic brick walls that are crawling with lush ivy made it the perfect backdrop for our shabby chic wedding.
We decided to have a small boutique ceremony in The Greenhouse section of the Foundry, which in our opinion is the prettiest part of the building. As the backdrop is SOO GORGEOUS on its own, we didn’t need to add much decoration, so that also helped us with our floral budget.
Other than the fact that the building is absolutely beautiful (did I mention that already?)…the main reason we picked this venue was because of the symbolism it holds for my husband and I. For one, we decided to get married on June 21st, the Summer Solstice and the longest day of sunlight in the northern hemisphere. We picked our date first, and then our venue. Getting married inside the Greenhouse let us capture the sun’s energy on this special day, while also keeping everyone cool and protecting against the elements outside just in case. The Foundry was also once used as an actual Steel Foundry to manufacture parts that were used in building the foundations for NYC – one of our greatest loves. As such, we felt this was also a great place to start building the foundations of our marriage and life together. We will also be moving to LIC in a few months, so this venue was a nice tribute to where we will be settling down for the next stage of our life. :)
After the ceremony, we hosted a post-ceremony luncheon at Water’s Edge Restaurant that has stunning backdrops of the city, along with excellent food and service – as this is only a 3 minute drive or 10 minute walk from the Foundry it was the ideal venue. For accommodations, the wedding party and out of town guests stayed at the Z New York hotel, a short 3 minute walk to the Foundry. Everything was within walking distance, including subways, so while the location may appear to be in a very industrial neighborhood it was very accessible to all of our guests.
Finally, a huge THANK YOU to Julie and Angela and the rest of the team at the Foundry for accommodating us for an early morning ceremony. They were not only professional and responsive to all of our questions and emails, they were also such a pleasure to work with and made sure everything ran smoothly on our wedding day. We really felt we were in good hands.
I would definitely recommend The Foundry if you are looking to get married in the NYC area and want an ultra-chic location to celebrate your special day.
Mr. & Mrs. Durante
I was extremely happy all round. Very professional.
Highly recommended.
We held our wedding at The Foundry and our guests are still talking about how amazing it is. From the responsive and incredibly helpful staff to the beautiful brick and ironwork, we couldn't have asked for a more beautiful and unique venue. The entire staff was very attentive all the way through the planning, as well as that night. The Foundry helped us create the exact experience we wanted - intimate, elegant and funky.
A month after our wedding and our family and friends are still raving about how much fun they had at the wedding. Our ceremony was in the main space and then we went to greenhouse for cocktail hour. Since the Foundry is so different we were able to have a very different wedding, we had free style dining and no assigned seating which allowed guest to enjoy the Foundry.
My husband and I were able to enjoy our family and friends and everyone danced all night. As a wedding present, my sister booked a cigar roller which was a big hit. The cigar roller also made our guest take advantage of the terrace that over-looked Manhattan. Our wedding was amazing and so much fun, everything was so different and the space so beautiful....exactly what I wanted.
Julie was our main contact from the Foundry, she showed us the space and kept in constant contact with us throughout the process. The day of the wedding our Foundry host was Angela, she was really excited and had just a great positive attitude. There were two doormen, and unfortunately we didn't catch their names; but our guest said very nice things about the doormen. Julie was very clear throughout the process that is raw space, I priced caters and rentals for this space before I even booked, which gave us a better idea if it was within budget...for us it was so worth it.
The Foundry is a gorgeous venue with highly professional staff. It is, however, also a very expensive venue which is, essentially, a blank space. As such, it is necessary to bring in nearly all furniture (they do have some pieces), cutlery, linens, etc. While this affords the opportunity to truly personalize the event, it adds signficantly to the amount of work, and the cost.
Again, it's an exceptional venue that can be transformed in any number of ways, very well kept up, and with excellent staff. Worth the money if you can afford it.
My wife and I were married here on December 1, 2012 and could not have been happier with EVERY aspect of the venue and the service. The space is beautiful and unique, and from our initial meeting with Julie, who showed us the space, we felt we would be in good hands. Like the space, the staff is fun, warm, and relaxed while still being cool. Throughout, everyone was professional, and they were an incredibly grounding force. Any questions we had throughout, they were quick to answer and accommodate (especially after dealing with other spaces and vendors, it was incredible how fast Julie was to respond to any email or call) , and we couldn't have asked for more from the night-of staff who did a great job handling everything with elegance and smiles. We hired Jose Rolon as our in-house day of coordinator, and we consistently remarked to each other how we couldn't have managed without him, as he certainly went above and beyond. Neither my wife nor I were the types to have previously pictured a venue for our "perfect wedding," but to be sure, after the fact, The Foundry was definitely it.
The Foundry was my dream wedding location, and everything was perfect! My wedding was just a few days after Hurricane Sandy, and everything still went off without a hitch. Julie was great to work with, and let us stop by numerous times. Our ceremony was in the Greenhouse, which was PERFECT, with cocktails/dinner in the main room and courtyard. I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful spot. It's definitely on the pricey end, but that's NYC.
The Foundry is simply gorgeous. The staff were all super attentive and detailed. So easy to work with. Exceeded my expectations!
We selected the Foundry early and were not disappointed. Every person who works there is friendly & helpful. The space itself is a little quarky for seating etc but is truly unique and stunning.
The Foundry is an amazing venue for an intimate wedding. The staff is helpful, responsive throughout the process. They are even better the day of!!! if you don't take a trip to see it you are missing out.
This place is phenomenal...and the price certainly reflects that! It was worth every penny.
It's really a one-of-a-kind space for an intimate wedding.
I love this place, it is beautiful and requires very little decoration. I give this 4 out of 5 stars only because it is quite expensive and all you get is the raw space.
After my initial venue fell through about three months before my wedding, I scrambled to find a solution. We'd loved the Foundry from the first minute we saw it, and their entire team was accommodating and professional. We opted for a Sunday night wedding, using the courtyard and a tent for dinner, and the inner space for two bars and a dance floor for our 100 guests, but I could see how it would be perfect for up to 180 happy attendees.
This place is beautiful. We wanted a very modern wedding that had a NYC feel without having to pay the full NYC prices. Although the Foundry isn't exactly cheap, it was worth it. We were able to really control the way our wedding looked and we had the whole place to ourselves. Julie and Allison are so awesome that you are just happy to do business with them. Our pictures were beautiful and we were able to create this super cool atmosphere that people are still talking about.
The Foundry is far and away a fantistic and unique venue for a wedding. We were married in the Spring and used the courtyard as well as the indoor space for our continuous cocktail party. Our guests raved over the ambience and we really appreciated the professionalisim and flexiability of Foundry's staff. A win for all!
