The Fruited Plain Caterers

My husband and I got married in September of 2023 and hired The Fruited Plain to cater. Let me tell you something, this was the best decision we made when it came to choosing a caterer. We had a variety of options to choose from when it came to planning our menu. They helped us find something that would satisfy everyone's likes and allergies, and walked us through ordering enough of each dish chosen. I still ordered way too much food, but that was fine. The food was such a hit that when the word got out about leftovers the next day, people came by and offered to take some off of our hands. 10/10 recommend them for your wedding (or any event that needs catering, really.) You and your guests will not be disappointed.

Food was amazing for my sisters bridal shower brunch! They came and set everything up and made it really easy for us. Excellent communication and updates during the planning process. Overall highly recommend!

Drew and crew were so helpful and instrumental in making our wedding happen! We decided it would be fun to basically plan everything from scratch, and didn’t use an event venue so Drew helped us really think so many logistical things through. So besides the AMAZING food, he was also ann amazing help to us. We had a perfect wedding and our guests have not stopped complimenting our wedding day even a year later!

We had The Fruited Plane cater our wedding. Drew and his team were EXCELLENT!! The food was amazing - we received so many compliments about it! Drew and his team are AMAZING!! My husband and I hired Drew to cater our backyard wedding over MDW 2021. We had about 130 guests and to this day family and friends rave about how much they enjoyed the food at our wedding, everything from passed hors d’oeuvres to entrees and desserts were out of this world! My dad even asked for a second entree he loved his dinner so much…Father of the Bride approved!! To top it off Drew is so incredibly kind and easy to work with, easily one of the best decisions we made while planning our wedding. It was a dream day and we truly had a dream team.

The Fruited Plain catered my wedding this fall. Drew and his team did a spectacular job! We initially hired them way back in February 2020 for a wedding that was to be that October. We did a tasting and enjoyed it a lot, and the price quoted was very reasonable. When the pandemic interfered, postponing the event by a year was very easy. A year later, when the time came to prepare for the event (with COVID still overshadowing it), Drew helped us modify our plans as needed. This involved changing the format of the meal service and also dramatically reducing the number of guests. Despite a lot of other organizations involved in planning the wedding being a bit difficult (i.e. our reception venue and our liquor supplier), Drew was always very calm and helped calm us down too. His team did a great job on the wedding reception itself-- the food was excellent and everything ran smoothly. Many of our guests have told us how delicious the food was and how our wedding reception was the most seamlessly-run one they have ever attended. We cannot recommend them highly enough!

The Fruited Plain catered my daughters backyard bridal shower on what was probably one of the hottest days of the summer. Between the heat and the issues of hosting during a pandemic, Drew and his team handled it all with ease. We chose them because of their unique menus, and they did not disappoint. Food was wonderful! I would highly recommend them for small and large events.

Drew and his team were an absolute pleasure to work with. They took my sister bridal shower and put it over the top! Drew makes the food planning stressless and easy, he even came out to the site before the event to decide where he would set up and how things would work on his end to ensure everything went smoothly the day of. The Fruited Plain did a fantastic job catering our daughter’s backyard wedding for a very reasonable price. As a worrywart, perfectionist, and former restauranteur, I have high standards and The Fruited Plain exceeded my expectations, allowing me the freedom to enjoy the special day. The food was delicious and well-presented, the staff was friendly and professional, and the set-up/clean-up was quick and efficient. From the beginning, Drew, the owner, listened to our ideas and was receptive to our concerns. He made covid safety suggestions and his team implemented protective practices. Drew also arrived early in the day to scout the lay of the land, provided everything needed plus extra serving equipment at no additional cost, and crafted a well-planned non-dairy, gluten-free and nut-free menu so that all could enjoy. The catering staff of servers and chef were polished professionals and downright sweet. From drinks & passed hors d’oeuvres to coffee & cake, these experts went above and beyond all night long by attending to the needs of the bride and groom and their grandparents, by maintaining a smooth orderly flow without ever being obtrusive, and by leaving our home cleaner than they found it (they swept & mopped!). They even took care of my elderly, disabled dog! From our positive experience and the tons of praise piled on by our guests, it’s clear that The Fruited Plain caterers are exceptional. We’re grateful for their expertise and kindness and highly recommend them!

Drew and his team were absolutely amazing!! Right from the beginning they were there to walk me through all options and make such helpful recommendations for exactly what I was looking for! I can’t thank Drew and his team enough!

We used the Fruited Plain for a cocktail hour and plated dinner at my daughters wedding held lakeside in our backyard. Drew and his team were terrific. On the initial walkthrough of our home and backyard, Drew made several good suggestions and helped define the rental inventory (which we handled on our own). The staff arrived on time, were very professional and took charge. As the dad and host, I anticipated having to provide some level of oversight since I never had done an event like this. The staff took care of everything and it went better than I had envidsioned. The food was outstanding, The passed appetizers were great and the guests couldn't get enough of them. Dinner was delicious and all courses timed perfectly. The staff was personable and a pleasure to work with. I'm looking forward to using them on an upcoming event in 2021.

I used them for both my engagement party and bridal shower and they were AMAZING. Not only was all the food delicious, but the staff is so friendly and great to work with. Drew was easy to communicate with and so accommodating with everything going on with COVID. All our family and friends raved about the food and how good it was. Not only is the food good but the representation of the food is beautiful. The workers served appetizers to our guests and we also hired a bartender through them and he was amazing - so approachable, friendly, and made delicious drinks. I would 100% recommend them for any wedding or wedding event.

Owner, Drew has now catered both my sons engagement party and most recently my future daughter in laws bridal shower after enjoying his food at my nieces wedding. Both parties were hugely successful with The Fruited Plain delicious food making both days so special. Every appetizer from chicken & waffles, tempura shrimp, London broil crostini to individual veggie cups were outstanding and that’s just to name a few! Set up was equally beautiful with every detail taken care by wonderful staff that took care of every need, I never cleared a plate or cleaned anything. Rarely do you find a caterer where all the food taste great, entree dishes all served in silver chafing dishes were plentiful and highly recommend the chicken Francese, Penne vodka and Salmon dishes were all fabulous. We will definitely be using Drew & his staff for all our future parties!

We had our reception at our home. Drew helped us coordinate tenting / tables and chairs. Drew and his team were AWESOME! The food was fantastic, the servers were wonderful and they left our spotless. Drew really made our wedding reception over the summer everything we imagined it to be. Drew did a great job with the dinnerware, linens, tent setup and the food was delicious and very nicely presented. His staff was super attentive and setup all the tables just the way we wanted it to be. When it comes to preparing for your event and you are not sure what caterer to go with in the area, go with Drew. You will not be disappointed. He will make everything easy from start to finish and will customize your event just the way you imagined.

Drew and his team made our wedding day spectacular! He went above and beyond to suit all of our needs and wishes. His staff was extremely friendly and professional. We did not have a single second where we felt like our guests weren't taken care of. The food exceeded all of our expectations and more. Drew made sure that we felt comfortable with our choices before the big day too. He accommodated multiple tastings to ensure that we were happy. The bartenders were also amazing. We gave them our recipes and with no questions asked they made them come to life. People could not stop talking about the drinks all night! I highly recommend The fruited Plain team! What did it take for our small wedding reception to be completely worry-free? Drew and The Fruited Plain Caterers! Having an outdoor wedding reception on October 19 on our back deck could have been "hit or miss" because of the uncertainty of the weather. But Drew connected us with the right rental company and the heated tent was AMAZING!!! With 25% of our guests being vegetarians we needed a caterer who could deliver deliciousness to all our guests. Drew totally hit it! We opted for a family style luncheon and got raving reviews on the quality of the food. From the first contact email 12 months ago, to the last dish put away on wedding day, we felt we were in great hands with a consummate professional. Drew was flexible enough to accommodate some of our special requests, and because we were dealing with the company owner, decision-making was straight forward. On wedding day, his servers were professional, efficient and friendly. My kitchen was probably cleaner after they left than it was before they arrived! And if all that wasn't enough, honesty and integrity were also a key aspect of our working with Drew. He caught a staffing level mistake on our final invoice and personally delivered a refund check for the amount we had overpaid. Now THAT's someone I will be working with again, and recommending without hesitation to all my friends!

First off, my husband Chris and I could not have asked for a better caterer or service provided by Drew and the Fruited Plain. Not only did Drew take us on last minute for our wedding (our previous caterer backed out 2.5 months out), he helped make the whole process so easy for us. His professionalism and experience made such a difference when planning our DIY wedding. Drew was super responsive from the beginning and gave his recommendations throughout each of our decisions when needed. Our wedding guests LOVED the food and was perfect for our non-traditional style event. He made miracles that night and we couldn’t be more appreciative! The Fruited Plain team is everything you could hope for in a caterer. UNIQUE MENU: They crafted the most scrumptious and distinctive menu I have ever seen for a wedding. So much time and effort was put into the menu that truly stood out against all other weddings. DELICIOUS FOOD: I can't say enough about how tasty the food was. Fruited Plain uses high quality ingredients which makes the food so incredible! They are masters at their craft. Our guests are still raving about the food a month later. Drew was amazing. I don't know how else to put it! We met with a bunch of different caterers and everything with The Fruited Plain felt different from the start. We enjoyed every aspect of the process and Drew was so helpful along the way. Nothing ever seemed to overwhelm him, and he was so great at helping to calm us down when we were feeling stressed. He is a true professional and master of his craft. He also worked with the rental company to supply EVERYTHING we needed for our venue. I can't tell you what it was like to have that support! On the day of the wedding, I remember seeing Drew after our first look, and it was genuinely like seeing a friend at our wedding. We were just happy to see him and glad he was there. The entire team was helpful, friendly and professional. Now...the important part....the food. Ohhhhh yeah. So good. The cocktail hour was amazing. Drew and his team concoct such delicious, and unique, food options that we had a hard time selecting!!! We went with a buffet option for our dinner and, again, the food was amazing and Drew's team kept everything running smoothly. We got married a month ago, and we still get compliments about the food at our wedding. We have recommended him to everyone we know and already have people looking to book him. Another wonderful experience working with Drew. We used the Fruited Plains for both of my daughters’ weddings and could not have been more happy with that decision. Drew was so easy to work with. He structured our menu to accommodate our theme. The day of the wedding his staff could not have been more attentive. Obviously I used him twice and would use him again if I had another child getting married.

Drew and his staff are amazing. Drew was so attentive, so patient, and just overall fantastic. The food was amazing everyone loved it. The staff was so efficient and polite and nice. They were attentive, the were constantly making sure my husband and I had everything we could need. They were just the best caterers ever. People at weddings remember the food and music. We hosted a large corporate event in 2018 and Drew and The Fruited Plain team did a wonderful job. We are very pleased and will continue to use their services for various events in our office ranging from small meetings to large corporate events of over 400 people.

We attended my niece's wedding and was thrilled with the extremely delicious food that was served. Since June we have utilized The Fruited Plain twice. They are now our go-to caterer not only for our party food but also for our Holiday's. Their holiday menu's I have found has added not only delicious yummy food to our table but adding quality of time with my family instead of being in the kitchen.

Fantastic food. Wonderful to work with. Guests took pics of the appetizers they loved them so much. Drew worked with us the entire way and was familiar with our location. Made home baked ice cream sandwiches we requested for dessert--guests once again were raving. Don't hire anyone else. We've joked we need an encore to eat the food again!!💖

Drew and the staff of The Fruited Plain made our wedding so amazing and unique. In a world of pasta and chicken buffet events, The Fruited Plain makes incredibly delicious and diverse cuisine that leaves you having dreams about food. My husband and I had an incredible repertoire of hors d'oeuvres, a delicious and exotic Hawaiian buffet, and a dessert bar complete with hot chocolate whiskey shots that Drew (the owner/chef) concocted himself especially for us, and our guests are still raving about it all! My only regret of the evening was wearing a tight wedding dress which deeply restricted the amount of pork buns I could eat during cocktail hour! The Fruited Plain is extremely accommodating, flexible, responsive, and creative. Drew's passion for his work really shone through in the form of how amazing and customized our event was. The Fruited Plain catered my shower in my friend's home in Brooklyn, NY and everything was amazing, I just need to write in a review and spread the word to all. The food was delicious and the presentation was beautiful. They over delivered on everything and definitely exceeded my expectations. They were organized, professional, courteous and just a pleasure to work with. I HIGHLY recommend them to cater any type of party or wedding in the future.

Drew and his team are all amazing! They are so kind, friendly, personable and really care about making your experience a good one. We heard rave reviews from our guests about the food and about the team in general. The Eggplant Rollatini was an especially big hit. We didn't serve any meat at our wedding (we had one fish dish) and no one seemed to miss it! Drew even went out of his way to make three vegan meals for me and a couple of guests. Big wins for the environment and the animals <3 The bartenders were also fantastic and we heard wonderful things about our specialty cocktails. The Fruited Plain was one of four approved caterers for our venue on Manhattan's Upper East Side. We talked to people from all four, and found Drew of the Fruited Plain to be by far the most agreeable, both in terms of price and service. The Fruited Plain did a fantastic job in every respect. The hors d'oeuvres were great, the bar service was great, the meals were great, the wait staff were great. Drew and his people drew raves from many of our guests -- the hors d'oeuvres were a particular hit -- and contributed tremendously to our wedding's success.

The skies opened up and the rain poured down on us all day for our backyard wedding, but it didn't matter! We were under the tent with family and close friends while Drew and his professional staff at the Fruited Plain made our wedding the most memorable day of our new lives together. From the moment Drew arrived early in the afternoon, decisions were made with cool and calm as the skies threatened and the weather reports of rain were made real. This fast became a torrential downpour that lasted all evening. No longer out of the tent seating! Without missing a beat, Drew's team reorganized the tables under the tent and made it seem as if this was the plan all along. It became the start of an intimate gathering, where every person under that tent forgot about the downpour and became part of a beautiful ceremony and fun filled evening, all thanks to Drew and his staff. We were awestruck at the way they attended to everyone’s needs, while delivering and serving the best prepared food we’ve ever tasted outside of an actual restaurant. The Fruited Plain made our vegetarian/vegan wedding a reality, without making any one of our guests wonder “where’s the beef!” Compliments abounded from almost every person there that evening. We heard over and over again how wonderful the staff was as the rain poured down. We will never forget their cheerfulness as they went about their work. They truly are an incredible team. Drew, shepherded us through the weeks prior to the wedding. He was an absolute delight to work. From our initial tasting at his café, to working with the rental company, to the setup and execution the day of the event, no detail was missed. He was the calm at the center of the storm (literally and figuratively!). The Fruited Plain made our wedding a magical event! We recommend them wholeheartedly.
