Classy. Beautiful. Delicious. Personal. Unforgettable. The moment you walk up the stone path, you know you are in for something extraordinary. The Gables returns you to a time of elegance that is often forgotten these days. I was fortunate to celebrate my wedding at this hidden Long Beach Island gem. I was married on the pavilion right down the street as the wave crashed the shore. With sand in-between our toes, my new husband and I strolled toward the Gables, toward our future, as the sun began to set on this very special day. As we made our way into the red toile room, a pianist played our favorite songs. Our gathering included our 7 children and our brothers and sisters. We were seated at several candle lit tables as the fire warmed the room. The Gable's table setting is a lovely sight. The glassware is sparkling and the china is exquisite, the heavily weighted silver adds to classic setting. Before we knew it, the glasses were filled with wine and spirits began to soar as our wedding dinner was served. Our first course was a Panzanella salad of baby arugula, fresh mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, Tuscan croutons, garden basil and capers. The entrée choices included grilled center cut filet mignon with roasted garlic whipped potatoes, and seasonal vegetables, or seared Viking Village scallops with risotto primavera, or parmesan & herb roasted breast of chicken with wild rice, and seasonal vegetables. What to choose?! Everything was so delicious. The scallops were caught that day, a few miles down the island, the filet was so tender that a knife slid through with ease, and the chicken was delightfully seasoned. Between courses my husband and I danced to Moonlight Serenade or sat with our guests and toasted to our future. Our wedding cake was so beautiful, with our penguins sitting atop the chocolate mousse filled goodness. A seasonal berry shortcake parfait was the perfect accompaniment to the chocolate decadence. Sadly, the night came to an end. We lingered a bit, had some more wine then hugged our loved ones goodbye. As our guests headed out the door we headed upstairs to the beautiful Victoria & Albert room. The door opens into a romantic, Victorian era escape. With the canopied four post bed, the gas fireplace, the luxurious bathrobes, and the marble bath you feel transported in time. The twinkle lights of the outside tree lit our room as we ended our very first day as Mr. & Mrs. Thank you Sondra, xoxo Sarah & Sal

We had our rehearsal dinner at The Gables over Memorial Day weekend and it was better than I could have hoped! The venue is so romantic and dreamy and I actually choose the rehearsal dinner location before I choose my wedding venue. My husband and I even stayed in the Bridal Suite for our wedding weekend. From the moment I saw this beautiful victorian B&B I knew it would be the perfect gathering place for my closest friends and family. The food is exceptional and the owner Sondra was extremely considerate to ensure a smooth night. We can't wait to celebrate many more anniversaries at The Gables.

The Gables is an absolute dream wedding location. It is a quaint inn with delicious fine food, an open-air porch for dining and a staff that is welcoming, professional and truly passionate about what they do. Sondra, the owner, is wonderful to work with. She supports her couples, but also checks in with me to ensure I am getting what I need. It is great to photograph at an establishment that will work with me to ensure success. The rooms have much character and charm and present a great, and convenient, backdrop for getting ready in. As a photographer, I love the little spots I can find around the inn to create great images and being in a setting that really fosters an intimate and relaxed vibe. The Gables is located just a block or so from the beach which makes it easy to head over to take pictures there as well. The setting is ideal for intimate weddings. Guests are able to wander the inn and enjoy not only the front porch, but the back garden courtyard where beautiful ceremonies are held and beverages and dancing can be enjoyed in the fresh air. The atmosphere creates a calm, stress-free setting that allows both the couple and the guests to really enjoy themselves in a unique setting that is like no other in New Jersey. I absolutely adore The Gables and my Gables couples. I've promised myself I will find a reason to have a party there myself one day because I love it that much.

We had our wedding reception at The Gables on 9-22-18, and it was AMAZING! Sondra (the owner) and Sarah (our wedding planner) did such a great job putting together a magical evening for us! The Gables is filled with fresh flowers, candles, and romantic decor so we hardly had to add any decorations for the event. We did stations for food (all excellent!) and had dancing in the courtyard. The evening was truly perfect and that is largely due to the amazing staff at The Gables. It is an LBI gem and we can’t wait to go back for dinner!

Dearest Sondra and staff, Thank you for hosting the most beautiful wedding myself, husband, and family could have asked for. Your grace and elegance made our day one to never forget. We were looking to get married in a lush enchanted garden, not one detail fell short. The food served to our 75 guests on a gorgeous day in August was exquisite, a true sit down dinner unlike any other wedding venue. The breakfast each morning was to die for, the ambiance timeless and breathtaking from the chandeliers down to the wall paper. All of Sondra's staff was caring, accommodating, and dedicated to assure each guest had the most wonderful experience. Thank you for making our dreams come true. We will be back for dinner over and over again.

We had our wedding on August 17, 2018 at The Gables. Sondra and her team were amazing and took care of every detail. The food was outstanding; so many compliments from our 35 guests. Sondra also shared wonderful recommendations for a pianist, florist and photographer who were also all wonderful. We also stayed at the inn and the rooms were lovely as was the breakfast served each morning. We highly recommend an intimate wedding a The Gables.

Incredible Wedding Weekend What a place to have a special event. My husband and I hosted 70 of our closest family and friends this weekend at our wedding. Spectacular is a word that falls short of describing the experience from start to finish. Every detail and every minute of the day was executed flawlessly. Not to mention the food. Incredible, from the 12 ft antipasto table and the stuffed Filet mignon to the creative s'mores and caramel apple bars on the patio. Sondra and Steve have a beautiful place and an incredible staff who take pride in providing the most amazing service. If you have not been to The Gables yet, I encourage you to stop by for dinner or to just check it out.

We had our wedding at the Gables Historic Inn and Restaurant on September 8, 2018 and it was spectacular!! Our friends and family are still raving about it. Sondra and Steve were incredible hosts and helped us with many of the details to make "Our Day" special! We could not have picked a better place for a beach inspired classy wedding celebration! We love LBI and we LOVE the Gables!!

I got married at the Gables in September 2017 and it was amazing. Sandy was very helpful along with Sondra about helping and guiding us throughout the process. We used Deborah Whitcraft as the officiant and got married in the backyard which is also where the dancing and cocktail hour were. We also used Steve Kramer who occasional plays the piano at the Gables to play during dinner time. Everything was perfect. We had a small wedding (66 people) and it was the perfect setting. The food and cupcakes were amazing. About a month later many of our guests say how nice the Gables was and how amazing the food was.

We had our wedding April 29th 2017 at The Gables and it was absolutely perfect. Sandra, Steve, Sandy and all the staff were so helpful, friendly and personable. Our guests loved the feel of the venue and said the food was amazing. We had our ceremony, cocktail hour and after dinner dancing in the garden and it was perfect!! Some of the flowers had died in the rain storm a few days before. I am a relaxed person so I didn't say anything but they still dug up the flowers and planted new ones the morning of my wedding day. The went above and beyond and I wish I could relive the day over and over. Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make our day so special!

We could not be happier with our decision to choose The Gables as the venue for our September 2016 wedding! From the venue selection process all the way through helping us pack up our extra cake and supplies the morning after our wedding, Sandy, Sondra and the entire Gables team were such a delight to work with from beginning to end. We are thrilled that we decided to hold our ceremony and celebrate with our family and friends in such an intimate, unique and beautiful space in the heart of LBI. Sandy's responsiveness and assistance during the planning process were outstanding and all of The Gables staff provided the same level of exceptional service on our wedding day. Choosing a venue with great food for ourselves and our guests was very important to us, and the ability to work with the chef and pastry chef to craft a menu that was exactly what we wanted was one of our favorite parts of the process. Enjoying dinner, dessert and our delicious chocolate peanut butter cake and dancing with our guests in the garden were definitely highlights of the night! We highly recommend The Gables as a wedding venue and know that we will surely be back to celebrate special occasions there for many years to come. The Gables offered our dream wedding! My husband and I were looking for something classic and timeless but non-traditional. The guest experience- including the food, wine, and cocktails- was also a priority. Our wedding was on a Saturday in May and the weather was perfect. We used the garden for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and dancing. While we brought in our own flowers, the garden was in full bloom and looked absolutely gorgeous. We used the four interior rooms to seat our guests for dinner. Each room had a unique vibe. When all was said and done, our guests raved and it was everything my husband and I could have dreamed of. Sondra (the owner) and Sandy (the manager) worked closely with us throughout the planning, giving advice and making helpful recommendations. The food was top notch and all of The Gables staff made us feel special and at home. We could not have asked for anything more...I only wish I could do it all over again! - Sarina & Matt

The Gables is a truly magical place for a wedding. The elegant dining rooms are intimate and lovely, and the garden is spectacular. From the start, Sondra and Sandy made our wedding vision their first priority. Their attention to detail was meticulous and the quality of of their service was second to none. Perhaps the most memorable part of the wedding was the food. Our guests were delighted with the unique menu that was served. It was a sumptuous meal that was lovingly crafted and far and above typical wedding fare. Many of our guests told us that ours was, by far, the best wedding they had ever attended.

We were married at The Gables on 09/10/11 and I couldn't have asked for anything more. We had a small wedding, only about 60 guests and it was perfect! The ceremony as well as cocktail hour and dancing was held in the garden and we tented it since there was a chance of rain. The owner Sondra was such a great person to work with it made planning the rest of the wedding easier since I didn't have to keep on top of her. Everyone raved about the location, the decor and especially the food! The staff was friendly and courteous. We also took the 5 rooms for ourselves and several out-of-town guests.
