The Gallery at Liberty Prime

We had about 130 people, a photo booth, tarot reader, live band and DJ at the Gallery for our wedding in December 2019. I thought this was the perfect amount of people for the size of the venue - roomy enough, but not so large it wasn't cozy. The food was as expected from our tasting - it was great! I asked quite a few of our guests about the food and I can confidently say that the majority of the people were very, very pleased. However, the real value of the night was the absolutely incredible, exceptional service. The bartenders were seriously champs - lighting fast with quality drinks. Everyone who drank at the wedding had a great time and not one person complained about the service. The drinks were delicious, stiff and plenty. They complimented on how fast the drinks were coming out. The servers passing the h'ordeuvres were working very deliberately, feeding the frenzy of hungry hawks awaiting their arrival. The servers deserve the gratuity and made our wedding very, very special. Unfortunately, I don't remember our waiters name, but let me tell you he was the best waiter I have ever had. He had things ready before I knew I needed them. I highly recommend this place.

She in her late 30's and me in my early 40's had been to more weddings than we could count. We knew the amount spent on most weddings was ridiculous. 80k for a few hours of food, dancing, and drunk conversation between guests who don't each other and will never meet again. We new we could do better, for us, our family and our friends. Of all the places we visited, Liberty Prime was able to deliver on quality, budget, and experience. And everyone had a blast. Highly recommended for any event.

I am beyond impressed with our wedding and the team at The Gallery at Liberty Prime. Nina and Ivan were both such a pleasure to work with throughout the planning process, we're detail oriented and on top of all of our requests and questions. The day of, every member of the staff was on point, friendly and readily available to assist with anything we may have needed. The room is beautiful and does not require a lot of decor which made the small details we brought in really pop. Everyone of my guests have complimented the food and the service, (not something guests are always expecting to be stellar at weddings) but The Gallery team really knocked it out of the park. The food was exactly as we had it at our tasting and there was such a variety of options. The bar was always well staffed, no one had to wait for a drink. Our catering captain David was phenomenal, literally someone born to work in hospitality. He executed the timeline flawlessly and worked with us when we had to make small changes and updates and literally followed us around with drinks and food to make sure we were taken care of. We ended our wedding with a small after party at the bar next door and the food was excellent! Overall, we couldn't have asked for better service or nicer people to work with on our special day.

Wedding Date 10/21/17: Let me start by stating that for my wife and I, experience is everything. As a same-sex couple, we wanted to ensure equal treatment and comfort for this significant journey. Liberty Prime was everything we had hoped for; welcoming, well-spirited, and created a feeling that they were genuinely celebrating along with us. I am creative, particular, ask many questions, and was my own wedding planner. No matter how many questions, changes, and documents I created, Liberty Prime’s Event Coordinator, Nina, rolled with all of it with professionalism, grace, and laughs. Communication, details, and turnaround time are extremely important to me and Nina was exactly what I had hoped for. She was prompt, gave accurate and specific responses, and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort every step of the way. We even had to change the date (our decision) and she worked with us to remedy our little issue quickly, smoothly, and at no extra cost. She brought my vision to fruition. She made adjustments and made a presentation out of the bits and pieces I missed. Details that really made a difference. Nina was an absolute pleasure from beginning to end. She was real, engaging, supportive, checked-in when too many days passed without a peep from me, and was on top of every single detail. She made this experience as easy as a wedding could be. We could not have asked for more! Our Maitre’ D for the evening, Arty, was wonderful! We first met him at our tasting. He was welcoming, professional, and engaging with us and our family. While the tasting may typically be for the couple, Arty made the adjustments needed to ensure both sets of parents were accommodated and able to participate. We truly appreciated this gesture. He was attentive and ensured that we were overjoyed with our food and drink selections. The evening of the wedding, he ensured a server per table and oversaw a phenomenal group of servers and attendants. All of our guests, expressed how polite, attentive, and fun the staff were. A testament to Arty’s management no doubt! Our chef, Luis, was just awesome from tasting to wedding. The menu selection had so much to choose from! Do not let the restaurant menu fool you. There is quite a variety for every course. At the tasting, he took our suggestions with grace and double-triple-checked to ensure we truly enjoyed every selection. He also created options at our request that were not on the menu and created something of his own choosing at the tasting that was a hit! He implemented suggestions on the day of our wedding. He truly catered to our every yummy wish. There was an abundance of food! Guests raved about the food both because there was just so much and mainly because it was just so tasty! Onto THE LOOK: My wife and I had decided we did not want a traditional wedding venue. Nothing wrong with them! Just wasn’t us. I don’t even know how I found Liberty Prime, but it was truly a hidden gem. The lighting system, the beautiful bars, the flooring, the high ceilings, the brick walls, the windows, mirrors, balcony… we fell in love right away. We had seen it empty at the time of our visit. Never could we have imagined how much more beautiful it would be on the evening of our wedding. All of our guests have commented on the aesthetics and were in awe of how stunning it was. Trendy, fun, and stunning! Stellar Staff, Delectable Food, and a Stunning Venue. 1000% perfect for us and for many of you, I’m sure!

I could not be happier about our experience at Liberty Prime. All of our wedding guests raved about the food, the service, the beautiful space. i was looking for something less "venue-y" a little more loft/modern/industrial and the brick, the edison bulbs, the marble and wood floors did it for me. I cannot rave more about this venue and i highly recommend. The staff (and Nina!) are AMAZING - definitely go for a tour and check it out if you're trying to be close to NYC/Newark airport which I was. Loved every second and cannot thank the team enough at Liberty Prime.

Where do I begin? This place is amazing! My husband and I just had our wedding there on October 7th, and we still have people complimenting us on the venue and staff. Nina is simply the best. She aims to accommodate all of your needs and she responds to emails very quickly. There was never a time where I felt like I was bothering Nina because she was always very responsive, patient, and willing to answers all of our questions. The staff was also so attentive and nice. The food was outstanding and there was never a time where I didn’t have a drink in my hand because the attendants made sure that you were taken care of. From the chic style of the venue, to the lighting, to how attentive Nina and the staff was to detail it is safe to say that The Gallery at Liberty Prime exceeded all of our expectations. To start off with, this restaurant but even more their employees are the best.!!! We looked at several places for my son and my new daughter -in-law's Rehearsal Dinner. Not only is the atmosphere just perfect but our first stop was welcomed by Juan who explained everything about the upstairs Room with private bar and menu. Then Nina the events mgr contacted us after we decided to have the dinner here. I can't begin to say how accommodating she was. Every question I asked (and I ask a lot) she got back to me with specific answers and information that was very clear. The cocktail hour, private bar and menu were great choices to pick from and reasonable. They had a projector so I could show pictures during the evening. Being from out of town, They even let me come in early that day to test it out. I had vases with flowers and they let us come into set up the vases. I requested a "U" shape table so everyone fit together and that was accommodated. They let us have a special drink of the day since it was Cinco De Mayo.(Strawberry Margaritas). We had hors d'oeuvers passed during the cocktail hour which everyone enjoyed. The bar staff and wait staff were tremendously efficient. They had a printed menu from our choices and the table settings were just perfect. Now for the food. I had reviewed previous reviews before I even set out to look at places. I know you can't make everyone one happy but we had the chicken, strip steak and salmon. Everyone loved everything. My brother who eats everywhere after his first two bites told his wife that this was the best steak he ever had. I had the steak and I thought the same thing. My husband had the salmon and stated it was great too. They had my daughters playlist for the evening piped into the room and they had glass sliding doors to close off during the speeches. It could not have been better. I recommend Liberty Prime Steakhouse to anyone having a party. They also has a garage behind it for easy parking as everyone knows parking is a problem in Jersey City. So thank you to Nina and Juan for a fantastic evening. My son is now married and the entire weekend was a success. Give great tips too! I appreciate great workers.

I don't even know where to begin to say how great this place was for my daughter-in-law and son's rehearsal dinner. We had it in the upstairs section of the restaurant and that area is laid out so well to accommodate an occasion such as this. Nina and George were so wonderful in helping with the planning. The space is sectioned to allow for cocktails on one side before entering the back room where we had dinner. And in the middle of both of these rooms is a big bar. Every single guest raved about how great the party was. In addition to the space, the food was incredibly good. There wasn't one thing that was served (buffet style) that wasn't spectacular. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Also, the wedding was being held at the Hyatt Regency so this was very close to the hotel where most of the guests were staying which made everything so convenient. Just a perfect, perfect evening thanks to Liberty Prime.

I cannot speak highly enough of Nina and the team at The Gallery at Liberty Prime. Our original venue cancelled on us 6 months before our wedding date - and we were sure we'd never find a suitable replacement in time. Boy were we wrong. We found this beautiful venue online and were convinced it could not be as gorgeous in person as in its pictures. Wrong again. Liberty Prime is a steakhouse and a bar, but recently converted the adjacent property into an events venue, The Gallery. It is fully state of the art and has everything from a unique layout to beautiful decor requiring minimal decoration- but it's the food and staff that really make it shine. Our wedding was 11/5 and we've received so much positive feedback on the food and the setup. We threw a cocktail style reception and the staff was more than happy to accommodate the slightly different style; it wound up being a huge success. On top of that, no one could believe they'd never been to this incredible location before for an event. This place is a hidden gem and I'd urge anyone who wants an amazing event experience to head here before they're found out, booked up and too expensive! And to Nina- we could not have had such a fantastic, smooth event without her. She's the glue that holds The Gallery together and was so accessible throughout the planning process - something I found invaluable. We also stopped by approximately 5 times during planning and were treated so well by all staff, including the owners, George et al. A tasting was included in our package as well and it gave us the chance to introduce the place to our parents who are, let's say, not-so-easy to please... and they loved every last bite. I told Nina and I'll say it again here- Liberty Prime has customers for life with us- birthdays, christenings, etc etc etc. We love you guys!! Couldn't be happier.

Nina, George, and all the staff at Liberty Prime worked with us to create the wedding of our dreams. Whether it was the table layout, drink selection, menu options, or just general party logistics, they were very accommodating and helpful. We had a great food tasting, and it was honestly very difficult to decide our menu because everything was so delicious. We had multiple meetings with Nina, who was great to work with. The servers and bartenders at our reception were so attentive and courteous to our 150+ guests. I would heartily recommend Liberty Prime to anyone planning a wedding or any event.

I’m feel so so lucky to have had my wedding here. All the guests kept commenting on how beautiful the space is, and how great the food was. George, the owner, and Nina, our coordinator, worked with us from beginning to end, providing excellent, honest service. They even dealt with my crazy mother (who upturned the main table right before the guests were about to be seated and requested “Eternal Flame” to be played three times) so deftly that nor I or my guests noticed that anything went wrong at all. The food was excellent, the cups never went dry, and the attention to detail of the service staff was awesome. Thank you again George and Nina!!!

The Liberty Prime hosted our rehearsal dinner in the upstairs area of their new event space (The Gallery). We had about 45 people attend the dinner and the separation between the bar area and dinner area worked out great! The food was delicious and the staff was very hospitable all evening. We worked with Nina and George to set up the event and they were both great to work with. It was the start to a great wedding weekend!

What The Gallery lacks in experience, they more than make up for elsewhere. First, the space alone deserves 5 stars. We wanted a location that required minimal decorations. With two floors, dark hardwood and balcony-style windows, no other venue could compete. No one could believe they were in Jersey City. We had 150 guests downstairs with a small dance area. We used the upstairs for our cocktail hour. Second, the food was delicious and beautiful. Since I have allergies, they took the notes we provided at the tasting and ran with it. The chef went above and beyond. Every time I took a step, someone stopped me to talk about how many appetizers they had or how great their steak was. I specifically recall my cousin collecting as many appetizers as he could and he hadn't even taken his coat off yet. Third, the service was top notch. As the bride, I was provided with a personal attendant to ensure that any request would be immediately tended to. This was a complete surprise. However, since I wasn't that kind of bride and didn't have many needs, I found it awkward having a "shadow". I think I saw him more than my husband that night. My uncle was also very pleased with the waiter at his table as he never had to get up and go to the bar himself! The only complaint was the timing of service at one table (my parents') as the side dishes did not get served until well after their main course, so their meals were cold. Unfortunately, my parents did not mention this to me, so I didn't get a chance to address it. But, I truly believe this was the only issue for the evening. We witnessed a pre-event meeting occurring with the waitstaff and it almost seemed militaristic, ensuring that everyone knew how the evening would play out and how to handle any emergencies. George (owner) and Nina (planner) were incredibly friendly, accommodating and easy to work with. Nina often stayed late so we could meet and discuss the arrangements. The Gallery is a true, hidden gem.
