All staff was very professional, everything was taken off putting us at ease for the big day. Beautiful venue, with ponds a walkway . Bridal house was perfect and a lot of room to move about.

My heart is truly broken writing this review.
Just got married here on 6.01.24, and it was a nightmare.
For starters, they were doing construction on the porch and failed to mention to me that this was happening. Imagine my surprise pulling up for Rehersal and seeing yellow caution tape surrounding the house.
Danielle, the day of coordinator, hardly listened to what I wanted and kept trying to change the specific order I had my Bridal party in.
The Bridal Cottage was nasty and had rat droppings EVERYWHERE.
Next they ran out of wine AND beer at cocktail hour and were turning my guests away.
They were turning my guests away at dinner and ran out of multiple drinks, including the SIGNATURE drink of the night which was an amaretto sour nothing complex.
They got the order of our mother son and stepmother stepson dances wrong. The mother of the groom was so hurt, ran away crying and I felt awful that Danielle put her last as "that's the correct order" again it doesn't Matter when I had a SPECIFIC list and order for a REASON.
They kept our leftover sparklers and didn't even use all of the decor we provided.
For cake cutting, they didn't have us a plate or forks and then asked " oh you guys wanted those" well yeah how are we supposed to eat cake as a married couple?
For our sparkler exit, Danielle had all the sparklers lit and we were not even NOTIFIED that it was starting.
Thankfully our family and wonderful photographers/videographers were yelling at us just before they went out so we got some shots but they were all under half lit.
Very disappointed in how the day was handled and EMBARRASSED that we had paid all the money for an OPEN BAR and continued to run out and our guests had to find another drink option. We paid alot of money for the open bar but clearly there was a miscommunication especially when they were given the exact headcount multiple times and weeks in advance to give them PLENTY of time to get thr alcohol needed.
The venue is truly beautiful, the gardens are a dream wedding venue, but my wedding was not what I envisioned, and I was devastated when I got home that night.
Please do your research before choosing a venue, otherwise your day may just go like mine.

I first want to thank you for taking time to write your review, even though it does not ca...
st us in the best light. I have nothing but respect for you and enjoyed working with you throughout your planning process. I did, however, want to address some of the issues you had on your wedding day.
1. As discussed on the evening of your rehearsal, we had severe rotting on our front porch which had to be addressed, as we feared it could lead to injury of a guest, vendor or employee. While I understand that you wanted to have some photos on the front porch, unfortunately that would not have been able to take place whether we were redoing our front porch or not due to the rotting. To make up for this disappointment, we did reimburse you monies for the inconvenience. While the caution tape you mentioned was out for your rehearsal, we took that down on the day of your wedding and replaced it with a retractable belt barrier.
2. I do know that we had an employee go clean the cottage for 45 minutes before your arrival and her duties are to sweep, mop, dust and clean the restrooms. If there were droppings in the cottage that is something I will definitely need to address, as that would be completely unacceptable, and I do apologize.
3. The bar we set up on our cocktail patio is a stand alone bar, it does not have coolers or a storage area to keep beer and wine cool, therefore we pack a cart filled with beer and wine and bring it over to serve your guests. When we run low on one item, we have our event staff resupply from our main bar by the reception site. Once we are about 10 minutes away from your cocktail hour ending, we stop resupplying the cocktail bar and start packing up to make our way to the reception bar. We never ran out of any beer or wine throughout the evening, the only thing we did happen to run out of was Amaretto and once we realized we had gone through the two full bottles that we had stocked for your wedding, we did run to the store to get more, as we knew it was your favorite drink.
4. In your finalized timeline that you approved; we had the dances in the correct order. We also emailed this timeline to your vendors, so they would know when things were taking place as well. Unfortunately, we cannot control if the DJ veer from this, as we are not the one pushing the play buttons on the song. While I hate this happened, it is something that was out of our control.
5. We did forget to package up your remaining sparklers at the end of the evening with your other decor. That was never intentional, we still have them onsite, and you are more than welcome to come pick them up this week.
6. In regard to your cake cutting, we had set up your table with decor, your cake stand, knife and cake serving utensils as directed. Your catering company was responsible for setting out all of your plates, glassware, silver etc. for your reception.
7. Your sparkler exit was scheduled to take place right before your event ended at 10:30. We were never informed of a fake exit taking place, and at the time you decided to do that, Danielle was in the office unpackaging your sparklers to prepare for your scheduled exit at 10:30. Once she passed out the sparklers, she started lighting them, and by the time she was coming back down the line to notify you they were ready, you were already running through. Sparklers do burn quickly, and it is nearly impossible to light them at the same time, therefore when you start lighting them at one end of the line and end at the other, it is to be expected that the sparklers lit first would have burned more than the once just lit at the end.
Once again, I do want to thank you for taking the time to write your review, and I want you to know I am heartbroken that you felt so disappointed with your experience on our property, as we strive to make all of the weddings and events that take place at Gray Gables truly special. While I do not personally feel we deserve the one star review you gave us, we will learn from this experience and strive to do better in the future.
Any questions?

I was married here back in 2016. I honestly tried to forget everything about the venue and my experience with Danielle, but due to multiple people reaching out and asking about it, I felt it was time to lay it all out. You'll understand why my original review back in 2016 was removed as you read.
First off, listen to the bad reviews. I truly wish I had. Everything about Danielle and her lack of communication/organization is spot on. Wedding planning is stressful enough, let alone having a "director" who is impossible to get in touch with and takes days/week to return a phone call or email. It was absolutely infuriating trying to get answers out of her. I eventually snapped and ended up writing a poor review PRIOR to my actual wedding day as I was so angry with her and her lack of consideration responding and doing her actual job. I ended up writing a pretty negative review for what I found to be completely unacceptable for a wedding director (as many of the negative reviews also claimed). What came after the review was what really sent it all off.
Her father, the owner of the Gables, took it upon himself to call my mother, and then myself, and argue the review and have it removed, as it had "upset" Danielle. He made up excuse after excuse for her- claiming she was a single mother with a lot on her plate. I was in tears by the end of the call. All due respect, not my problem, nor is it anyone who is paying FOR HER SERVICES. I was absolutely appalled. I had to apologize in order to try and salvage what I expected to be a turbulent rest of the "relationship". If it wasn't for the fact that I didn't have time to find another venue on short notice and LOSE our money at the Gables, I def would've ran to the hills from this place.
Day of- as myself and my maids showed up, no tables or chairs had been set up yet. Vendors were arriving with nowhere to go or assistance from Danielle. My mother ended up doing most of the directing. The outside bar was not stocked as we requested. We had a large drinking crowd and specified this with her multiple times. The large umbrellas were not removed as requested. The grounds looked like they had barely been upkept. Danielle showed up in a mini skirt and low cut top (super professional) and was MIA 90% of the night. My guest book, which was a bench my father had made, was moved without permission and then the staff lost all the markers for signing. I had one of the staff camp out in the bridal suite and was told she couldn't leave. The bar room had a fish tank that was literally black bc it hadn't been cleaned in god knows how long. If it wasn't for my fabulous family and friends, the day would've been a disaster . Danielle is total trash at her job. The fact that she still runs this business is for the shear fact that it is a family business. No legitimate wedding venue would tolerate what she calls "her best". Reading the last review on here and reading her argumentative response shows the level of professionalism she carries. Her father calling myself and my mother to defend her shitty work shows the level of care they have for you on your special day. With all that being said, I DO NOT RECCOMMEND NOR WOULD I EVER. The venue is beautiful in the spring and perhaps worth the money, but Danielle isn't worth 2 cents.
There are multiple, beautiful venues now in the area. I sincerely urge you to look into them if you would like a stress free day.
Danielle- No need to respond to this review.

Nikki,
I am so sorry that I let you down as far as communication goes, as I really do try...
my best to get back with everyone as quickly as I can. Because I do all of the tours, gardening, and work the events myself sometimes it does take a little while to get back to emails, which is why I give everyone my cell phone number as well because I usually have that on me most of the time. With that being said, at that time I did have two small children, and while that may have played a part in my delayed response, it is not an excuse. I did and still do have a bridal cottage attended who stays in the cottage with you while you are getting ready, just incase you need assistance of any kind; they help you with decorating, helping you get ready, assist you to the ceremony site, etc. I do remember your guest book (the bench) and how wonderful of an idea I thought it was. I don't remember it being moved, as this happened 6 years ago, but if my staff did I sincerely apologize for that and I am sorry that the markers were misplaced. You will be happy to hear that I do not direct anymore. Though I only did it for a short period of time (maybe a year or two) it didn't take long to realize it was a lot while also managing the venue on the day of not to mention running the business' day to day operations.
Overall I am sorry that you had such a negative experience with us so many years ago. Things have changed, though I know that does not make your past experience any better. I do hope you are doing okay and life is treating you well.

Venue, for the money, is a decent enough value. I unfortunately have to give it 1 stars due to poor and mis-management. We had our wedding at Garden at Gray Gables October 2019. The venue is ran by a lady named Danielle. Her parents bought the place and put her in charge to run the place as an event venue. I'm sure she is great at a lot of things, but running a venue is not one of them. Poor and lack of communication like everyone else has stated in other reviews was very parallel to our experience. Extremely hard to get a hold of, rare returned calls and lack of preparation for day of added, as anyone can imagine, more stress than it is worth to have your event here. When we were still venue shopping we were told and showed certain things that were implied to be included in the venue rental- then find out they are all ancillary fees including use of the "bridal cottage" to get ready for $350/hour. Day of it was unseasonable cool- we were told that if needed the venue had heaters. After 6 or 7 calls in a row I get a text from Danielle. Finally get her on the phone and she clarified that these were her "personal heaters" and that she would "let us borrow but she was unsure if they worked," but I was welcome to go buy a bunch of propane tanks and see if I could get them to work. I believe at one point after the terrible experience with her that I had to ask if she was new to this or a hobby for her- to which she replied "No, I have been doing this professionally since 2006." Get to one hour before the late afternoon ceremony- there is still literal trash bags laying on the side from the wedding the night before. My brother had to physically scale the arbor we were about to get married under to remove decorations from the wedding the day prior. Day of Danielle was there. Never even spoke to myself or my wife all night. We also denoted specifically on our invites- "adult affair only." Danielle had her small children there running around the event like a family reunion. I finally had to say something while they were all in the food line, which she never asked if that was ok- she was in line while tables were still being called for our guests to come get food. To which, the response I got was "sorry, did not have anyone to watch them" (or feed them apparently.) Very, very unprofessional. There are so many other great venues out there- do yourself a favor and save a headache and have your special day elsewhere.

There is no doubt that the Gardens at Gray Gables was a gorgeous venue for our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Everything was in full bloom and so lush and all of our guests kept complimenting us on its beauty. The venue staff were very friendly as well. While there were many additional positives to the venue and we wouldn't change anything about our day, there were a few negative events that occurred. The venue payment includes seven hours on the day of the rental (including for decorating), but you can add up to four extra hours for a significant dollar amount. We paid for the four extra hours, but the venue coordinator, Danielle, did not mark us down for that time. When we arrived on the day of, none of the staff were there and the buildings were locked, causing a delay and a bit of frustration. I called Danielle and she was very apologetic and offered a bar credit; however, we do not know what happened to that credit because all of our guests paid for their mixed drinks and we had already paid for the beer and wine. Because none of the staff were there when we arrived, the chairs were not set up and nothing was in the order as discussed during our walkthrough in the weeks prior. Additionally, the bartender(s) was/were supposed to be there from the time we arrived for our bridal party, but they were not. Our groomsmen brought in their own beer because of this, but were told they could not drink it because they had to use the venue's beverages and the bartender had to serve it, which made no sense since the bartender was not there to do the job. The kitchen area was disgusting and unclean, so a member of our bridal party had to clean it in order for food to be stored. We were also supposed to have a bridal attendant to assist myself and the bridesmaids throughout the day, but one did not exist. I mainly needed the attendant to carry my train, but ended up having to pull a friend who was a guest away from her seat to help me. Finally, Danielle came to carry the train. Given that we paid a significant amount for this venue and the bar services, it was disappointing how many issues occurred on our wedding day. While the venue was stunning and our wedding was everything we wanted and our guests had so much fun, we would be hard-pressed to rent this venue again due to the disorganization and frustration that came along with it, especially for the amount we paid for it all (a refund for a portion would be nice)I would say if the price for the venue and bar service were cut in half, it would maybe be worth it. Because of all the details of the day, I'm rating this three stars. Again, the venue was lovely and while we were quite disappointed in certain aspects, when it came down to it, my husband and I were not concerned with everything that went wrong because we were married in the end and focused on the joy surrounding it.

We had our May wedding at the Gardens at Gray Gables, and I could not have been happier with our venue choice. This is one you should definitely tour if you're considering it; there are so many beautiful spaces and thoughtful details that you can't fully appreciate it through photos.
I loved have separate defined spaces for the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. (The cocktail area may have been my favorite. I've been to many weddings where it felt like this time felt like an afterthought and guests weren't sure where to go, but the patio with it's own bar and cocktail tables setup made ours feel very special. They even let the kids in attendance feed the koi in their pond!)
The level of service was also fantastic. All the venue staff was included with the price of the venue, and they had more than enough people to manage guest parking, run the bars, and direct the flow of the event. I was pleasantly surprised that my bridesmaids and I event had a bridal cottage attendant to help us with anything we wanted before the ceremony. Danielle was also really helpful leading up to the event. I texted her probably once a week at least and visited the venue multiple times to take measurements and figure out where everything should go. She gave great advice when asked for her opinion, and made sure our wedding ran very smoothly and looked beautiful. I appreciated all the little touches, like an emergency kit for guests in the bathroom and her help with the decor. (After the ceremony she suggested to my mom that we reuse some of the flowers in other areas, then took care of moving them.)
The fact that the venue provided a very sizable reception tent and all the tables and chairs, plus the setup for all these, was key to making everything come together for us. I was also very glad we could choose any vendors we wanted, as a few were smaller or newer businesses that provided great service but aren't on many approved vendor lists.
Everything about the venue, from the beautiful grounds to the accommodating staff, was absolutely perfect for us. I think it made our wedding feel more expensive than it actually was, and it was a gorgeous space that doesn't pigeon-hole you into any particular look or theme.

Gray Gables was perfect for our wedding on 9/23/17. The venue is BEAUTIFUL. It really does not need much with all of the natural beauty. One of our favorite things about the venue was all of the spaces: ceremony, cocktail hour, bridal cottage, grooms den, large porch, bar, etc. All of these are complimented by beautiful scenery for transitions(bridges, ponds , gazebos, etc) . Danielle was super sweet and easy to work with. She answered all of our questions and made sure everything went smoothly. The girls also loved our bridal suite attendant she was very helpful the day of with anything we needed. The bartender was also super cool! So many compliments on the venue. A perfect day.

I booked Gray Gables for my September wedding, and I couldn't be happier with our choice! First off, the venue is absolutely beautiful, with well landscaped facilities and separate areas for ceremony, cocktail hour, reception and bar. There's also a cute little bridal cottage on the back of the property.
I thought the value was great for what you receive. On the day, there's attendants throughout the venue as well as Danielle, the director. There's also Pat in the bar, who's awesome! All our guests loved the venue and said it was a beautiful wedding. It was exactly what we wanted - a stunning venue outdoors without feeling super fancy or stuffy.
Danielle was wonderful too. Like past reviews, communication was a bit slow, but my questions were always answered and any issues (only really one on the day of with tables) were handled quickly and professionally. She really helped put my mind at ease as we got closer to the day, especially when we would meet in person.
I was completely satisfied with Gray Gables and I wish I could do it all over again!

Gorgeous outdoor venue for the ceremony and the reception. They have separate spaces for everything, including a cocktail hour, and bridal cottage away from the main house. They even have a solid rain plan in place.
Communication is the huge issue with this venue. Emails nor phone calls are answered promptly or even at all sometimes. The venue director, Danielle, is a very nice woman in person and seems willing to do anything for you. But during every form of electronic communication, you're left wondering if they're going to get back to you at all.
My (now) husband and I set up several additional meetings with Danielle (which took some time to schedule due to her lack of communication), and they were worth the effort. We had much better piece of mind after the in-person meetings.
I was also promised to have someone from the venue to help me with my dress train before I walked down the aisle, but I ended up doing it myself. That is my only complaint from the day of my wedding, and that is a very minor detail.
I did bridal portraits on the property as well, and they turned out great. This really is a fantastic wedding venue, just with poor communication skills. As long as you go in knowing you have to take the extra step there yourself, I think it's worth it!

I cant speak for everyone obviously, but our wedding day went flawlessly and perfect!
On 4/16 I said I do to the love of my life at The Gardens at Gray Gables and I could not have picked a more perfect venue. Danielle was the onsite manager and who we spoke to throughout the planning process. She was on site the entire time during the event, running around the venue, setting everything up, making sure the vendors were settled in, helped set up decorations and kept everything on schedule, so I am in awe of the other reviews. I don't know if they just did not see for themselves how involved she was or what, but if anything her and her staff went above and beyond my expectations. She even went as far as to give me her personal cell phone number so i could reach her at anytime if I had any questions, during business hours or after.
It was a little cool that day and did sprinkle a little before our ceremony, but the staff didn't waste anytime and wiped down all of the chairs as soon as the skies cleared and we were set to have our ceremony and ON TIME!! Even with the rain!
While getting ready I had an attendant in the Bridal Cottage with me who helped me with anything I needed as well as helped organize our things after we made a huge mess getting ready (sorry about that! I know it was crazy in there!!) But she was a sweetheart and I really appreciate her being there.
Everything with the Bar was amazing! The bartenders were friendly, super welcoming and were able to order a special wine for my Mother In Law. The prices are not to high and they have a few different choices to pick from so you are able to pick the option that will work best for you and your guests.
I was also surprised by a new deck that they had put in by the Cocktail Hour patio, they are always updating and adding new pieces to their property. Every time I came out there was always something new to admire!
Overall, I give the venue a 5 star rating and would suggest it over and over again. Keep doing what you are doing, there are always people who will complain, but I, as well as many others (just look at all of the good reviews!) know how amazing of a job The Gardens at Gray Gables does on a daily basis.

Don't be like me: LISTEN TO THESE NEGATIVE REVIEWS. I read them, considered them, but wanted to give Gardens at Gray Gables the benefit of the doubt. So...much...regret. These people are so unbelievably unprofessional. The grounds are beautiful, but there are a lot of beautiful locations in the area and it IS NOT WORTH IT to deal with the management. The management and staff seemed as if that night was the first wedding they had ever hosted. They seemed completely inexperienced. I can forgive the inexperience if they were at least customer service oriented and professional. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Sp much unprofessionalism, I do not know where to start. When an issue arose before, during, or after the event, they were completely unaccommodating. They blame everything on you, the customer. You can read their responses to multiple negative reviews on their Facebook page and on other websites and this becomes very clear. They are saving face and do not value the wishes or opinions or satisfaction of their customers. Honestly disgusted with our experience and want to warn others: DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT DAYS OF YOUR LIFE.

Before I was even engaged I knew I wanted to have my ceremony and reception at The Gardens at Gray Gables. I didn't even look at any other venues. It was really important to me to have both the ceremony and reception on site together to simplify wedding day logistics and provide ease for my out of town guests and for grandparents. There are a couple of beautiful gardens ideal for the ceremony and an amazing tent for the reception. The property itself is well maintained with the various gardens and ponds.
It rained and rained and rained on our wedding day and even though we had our ceremony and reception both under the tent, the evening was perfect!
We did have an issue when we first arrived on the property with the men not being able to access the main building for them to get ready in for about an hour. It was raining and we had our "first look" an hour into arriving. While this was hectic and stressful at the moment, in the grand scheme of our wedding day, everything pieced together quite nicely. We did bring this to Danielle's attention after our wedding and she was very understanding and worked with us to fix the problem in the best way possible.
While meeting with Danielle a few times to book the venue, finalize details, and on the wedding day, even though she wasn't our wedding planner, she worked very diligently and sought to make sure we had everything we needed for our wedding day. The week of our wedding called for lots of rain and I appreciated Danielle calling to see if I wanted the walls on the tent or not. I was out running errands for the wedding and not once had that crossed mind.
Overall, I would highly recommend this venue to any bride in the Triad area. Booking an outdoor wedding is risky and sure enough, it rained on our wedding day, but I couldn't have pictured our wedding anywhere else!

My husband and I were married at Gray Gables in 2013. We both grew up in the Summerfield/Oak Ridge area and knew we wanted to have our wedding there. After having driven by Gray Gables for most of our lives we thought it would be the perfect place for our wedding. Please take these reviews regarding the Wedding Director Services seriously...Danielle is not a leader and does not do a good job with communication. I mapped out and walked through the venue (weeks prior) with her and told her where everything needed to go and be arranged and NOTHING was where it should have been (we paid for her services). Luckily, I was not a "Bridezilla" and didn't make a scene. The Bridal Cottage had stink bugs everywhere and it smelled like mold. When I went looking for Danielle at one point during the reception she was lounging in the front parlor eating with her staff – shouldn't that be done afterwards or in a private setting? I am extremely, extremely organized and Danielle was very absent when I needed questions answered, phone calls returned, emails responded to...Her father owns the business so she doesn't have much of a "Boss". The venue is pretty I will say that and our wedding turned out great but Danielle was not the easiest person to deal with.

Bad service deducts from 5 star beauty. Do not use the director services. That was the rip off of the day. Director Danielle, was nowhere to be found when some of our vendors arrived. Aside from practically no direction, director (Danielle) chose to wear blue jeans to the wedding and added a chair to the front row and "directed" an unauthorized change in seating to what bride and I specified the very day before at the rehearsal. We were unaware until the wedding started and the FRONT ROW seating faux pas caused a scene at the wedding and has caused a lasting family issue. An extra table was set than number in our director-provided layout, leaving us a centerpiece issue! Tent lights were "blown" according to the venue management and did not all come on for our evening reception. Venue management did not inform of us of MAJOR liquor license change until 3 WEEKS before the wedding, although their onsite bar opened at least 2 months before our event. Of course, we already were contracted with a caterer for alcohol. Danielle "forgot" to place item on the table that was part of the ceremony and on and on. Efforts to call and ask to speak to the Danielle's boss have failed. I keep getting connected right to her, even if I just call and ask for her boss' name!!!!

The venue was extremely beautiful and had the ammenities we were looking for in regards to all incluvise site for ceremony, cocktails, and reception and a wonderful bridal cottage and grooms room BUT..... getting in touch with Danielle proved to be difficult. She would not return emails or phone calls unless we called numerous times and became very irriate. There was always an excuse! Also we paid for director services for both reheresal and wedding but as the mother of the bride I ended up doing all the work of making sure we stayed on time, getting wedding party to areas for pictures and introductions, and directing the vendors. MY HUSBAND, BROTHER. AND SISTER-IN-LAW HAD TO DO THE DECORATIONS BECAUSE THE TABLES, CHAIRS, AND CEREMONY SITE WERE NOT SET UP UNTIL ALMOST 2:00 PM WITH GUESTS ARRVING AT 4:45 FOR A 5:30 CEREMONY. We worked tireless to prepare the site for our guests. Overall I was very disappointed with the indivudal serevices we paid for. If I had to use this site again I would have a wedding director that had more expericence and was very detailed oriented.

I had my July outdoor wedding here. The venue was wonderful. I wanted a Victorian garden theme, and it played off great at the venue. The grounds are very well groomed and clean. The water in the ponds are also clean and clear. The grass at the various ceremony sites are sod and look perfect. The reception is in a large tent and they had fans (quiet) going to keep the air flowing. In the colder months they close in the tent. My guests loved the different garden nooks to explore. The main house is well decorated and is where the men get ready. We took many wedding photos us my husband and I in the house and it made for some great hand above your fireplace type photos. The men's dressing room is covered in dead animals, which didn't appeal to my husband much and was a little too much stereotypical male, but that was the only thing he didn't like. The bride gets ready in a bridal cottage (ranch house) at the back of the property. It was nice having two different locations so we didnt fear running into each other, but yet were on the same property. The cottage is going through renovations. Last winter was the inside and they said this winter will be the outside. I really liked having so much space in the bridal cottage as we really needed it. The only complaint with that is there is no air conditioning in the bridal cottage (there is in the main house). They had a contraction in the kitchen but you had to be standing in front of it to cool off. The staff on the day of was great! They were timely and professional. We had no problems. Another thing I really liked is that I was able to go to the venue anytime there was not another wedding/event going on to take down notes or visualize where things would go.
They provide tables and chairs so that was a big plus. Cost is included so you dont have to be nickel and dimed to death for anything. The price they give you is the price you pay and we didnt have to worry about anything else. That was great and made that part stress free!
Overall, I highly recommend the venue. We had no problems before and during the wedding and the staff was friendly. The venue is very pretty and easy for elderly to walk around while still being in nature. I looked at many venues in the triad area and this was the best by far for value and elegance. Many great nature and Victorian photo locations on site. They also gave me no problems with having whatever vendors I wanted. I would rent again from them, but luckily that is all over with!

I've always heard how much of a nightmare wedding planning can be. This place made the beginnings of my planning a definite nightmare! I've always dreamed of an outdoor wedding, so this place seemed perfect. I basically pushed myself on them, by showing up at the place wanting to view it because no one ever responded to my request for info. I should have known better then! So we decided that we loved the venue, gave a deposit ( which isn't a small amt of money!) for a specific date of course. The date was written on the check I gave them as well as all over the contract I signed. I get a casual email later saying that the date I just paid for was already booked. So that was freak out moment #1 after telling everyone the wedding date! So not only that, couldn't get in touch with Danielle ( which by the way is not the owner- shes the "wedding director" aka the owner's daughter!). They offered me another date?!?! Then cashed my check after I told them I wasn't sure about the other date!!!!! So now still waiting on over a thousand dollar refund!!! It was unbelievable that it is even considered a business. I think you shouldn't hire your daughter, especially if she is always unreachable, doesn't answer the phone, or return emails or phone calls in timely manner. Good luck to anyone brave enough! I'm glad this happened during planning before I had a horrible wedding day with these people!

I got married last month at Gray Gables. I had looked online for garden weddings for atleast a month and this was the very first place I made an appointment. I loved everything about the space and invisioned my wedding there so my parents decided to go ahead and book. I thought that we had made the right decision on booking this venue but as time passed I wasnt so sure. I thought about changing my venue more than once. The owner, Danielle, was very nice when we first met her and I thought she would help make sure that things were going to be easy and stress free. I never recieved a phone call, email, or anything from her unless it required money (which was the first couple months of booking.) Two weeks before my wedding I had to call and make final arrangements for the seating plans and everything else that had to be done, which to her response was "Oh I was meaning to call you." We had this place booked for 15 months and after almost $4000 you would think that she would stay in touch. As if a bride doesnt have enough on her plate. There were times I would call and leave a message and would not get a call back. Once the wedding day came I got there right on time to look at the setup of everything. I walked into the tent and was taken away by how ridiculous the seating was set up. Everything was bunched together and not at all how I wanted it. The tables were back to back and then some were far apart, it looked a mess. I then asked my vendor what is going on and she told me "This is how they set it up for us. They said this is how its suppose to be." Really? So as if that wasnt enough the owners father who is extremely nice came and congratulated us not the owner which was kind of rude that she didnt, after the wedding was over she told everyone they could take whatever flowers they wanted home?! (including some of the bouquets which my mom had to grab from someones hand!!!), and apparently was passing out my to go boxes for my husband and I! I was very upset at how things were handled throughout the process of my engagement. We were also told back in the beginning of 2011 when we booked that their bridal cottage would be done by the end of that summer (2011), then the beginning of 2012 was told it would be done by my wedding, and it wasnt. I am highly aggravated with this place and I dont plan to suggest this to anyone. I think if the owner would pay attention to all her brides she might get a better feedback. If you are a bride looking for a place dont get me wrong its gorgeous but you want to feel appreciated, happy, and get it back in return but you wont find it here.

We loved the Gardens at Gray Gables. It was great how they had so many different options of places to hold your ceremony and reception based on size and preference. The grounds are beautiful, we got so many compliments on our choice. We also loved how they always have a tent set up. Other venues we looked at didn't have that option, which meant we would have had to rent a tent for the "just in case", which gets expensive.

My husband and I could not have been happier with Gray Gables. We knew we wanted to get married there from the time we set foot on the gorgeous grounds. Our wishes were confirmed when we met Danielle who was so sweet and helpful. We planned our wedding ourself and the staff made every step so easy leading up to the wedding. The day of the wedding went smooth and perfect and everyone raved about how beautiful the venue was. I can honestly say that if we could do it all over again, Gray Gables would be first on our list of vendors to book.

My husband and I got married on May 5, 2012 and we had a daytime wedding. I know the big thing now is to get married a little before sunset then have a big blowout reception at night. That is certainly everyone's right and for those who choose to do that, more power to them! However, I feel that daytime weddings are highly underrated. When you have a setting as exquisite as the Gardens at Gray Gables, day or night, your wedding is guaranteed to be elegant and pleasing to you and your guests. In fact the words I kept hearing were elegant and classy. Danielle and the staff at the Gardens at Gray Gables were very accommodating and are continually improving the grounds, paying careful attention to the landscaping and ambience. We could not have asked for a better location and experience. We are very happy!!!

We highly recommend the Gardens of Gray Gables for your wedding!! We truly think the venue made our day even more special. The weather was perfect, the flowers and greenery made all of our pictures (professional and not) beautiful, and the ease of having everything taken care of made it feel like a piece of cake. All of our guests loved the location and the history behind the house. We had our ceremony in the garden under the arbor and the reception under the tent...the lighting and everything was wonderful. Us and our guests had a wonderful time and everything ran smoothly. Danielle is there for the rehearsal and day of to make sure everything is taken care of. We couldn't have thought of another more beautiful and picturesque location for our wedding....(ps. if you have children attending, there is plenty of open garden/yard area for them to run around in so they do not disturb the dance floor/reception area). A++

The perfect place for the garden wedding my daughter wanted and the reception as well. The venue is beautiful and Danielle and her staff do a wonderful job. It was exactly what Amanda wanted for her outdoor fall wedding!

After looking at multiple outdoor venues, we chose The Gardens at Gray Gables because the home & grounds were lovely and immaculately kept and Danielle, the manager, was such a delight :-). From the beginning she had a genuine interest in making sure that my daughter & son-in-law had the day of their dreams. And, although we chose our own vendors, she was always more than willing to give suggestions and help in any way. On the day of the wedding everything was set up as planned and the grounds were beautiful. Our guests raved about the entire experience - even with a 93 degree day! She made sure that we didn't have to worry about anything. Excellent experience - I would do it again if I had another child getting married!!

When looking for a venue my wife and I actually were looking closer to Charlotte. However after visiting Gardens at Gray Gables my wife and i fell in love with the site and staff. Danielle was wonderful and very helpful. Having an outside wedding our main concern was what if it rained. Here at Gray gables they have such a large tent it gave us a fail proof back-up plan. This along with the communication with Danielle gave us piece of mind leading up to the wedding. Also the staff at gray Gables accommodated all of our ideas to make the day our own. Danielle and her staff had everything set up perfect for the day of our wedding. My main concern was for my wife to have a stress free day and not have to make any decisions, just to enjoy it. Everything flowed seamlessly. Also having an outside wedding in June the heat was a big concern. The staff set up fans strategically around the tent and for a 95 degree day, I have never been so comfortable. I couldn't have hoped for a better day. It went off without any problems, and everything was just how we wanted. The Gardens at Gray Gables gave my wife and I exactly what we envisioned for our wedding day.

My husband and I were married at The Gardens at Gray Gables a few weeks ago. I have always wanted an outdoor wedding and this venue was love at first sight. The big tent and grounds are stunning with lots of flowers and greenery. I cant count on my fingers how many times my husband said "wow, this place is beautiful" on our big day!
They have many tables and chairs that came included in the price. Another great aspect, you can bring ANY outside food and alchohol (which really saves some big bucks!). If you want an outdoor/garden wedding, this is your place!!
The downsides, if it were to rain, everything would have to take place under the tent, which would be really cramped. (But the weather was beautiful and we lucked out!) We had a lot of out of town guests and there are really no hotels near by.
Leading up to the wedding, the manager/owner of the venue was a little slow to return my emails/phone calls. I had to call a few times to get some simple answers. However, on the day of my wedding she totally redeemed herself. She was SO helpful, I saw her more than I saw my wedding planners! The staff was also very helpful and fast.
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful dream wedding!!!

My husband and I chose the Gardens at Gray Gables for several reasons. First, it is a gorgeous venue. The gardens and grounds are so beautiful that we knew that we wouldn't need a lot of decorations. We also wanted an outdoor wedding but understand that, getting married in May, it's important to have a backup plan in the event of rain. Danielle was a pleasure to work with and very accommodating during the planning process. Last but not least, the price was amazing for such a beautiful venue as well as everything included. We were very happy with everything and would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a beautiful place to get married that isn't outrageously expensive.

When searching for a wedding in the Greensboro, NC area, we wanted a venue that would accommodate a wedding outside, while still having a "back up plan" if the weather was unfavorable. Our March 2011 was absolutely BEAUTIFUL thanks to Danielle and her staff despite the 30 degree weather. The week before the wedding, I was in contact with Danielle who kindly rented a heater for the tent (where the wedding and reception was held). Even though it was rainy and cloudy, we had a wonderful experience. The tent on the brick patio was very spacious but gave us an intimate atmosphere for the ceremony. The staff were readily available to guide guest where to park, the garden grounds were immaculate, the kitchen inside the home was perfect for our caterer to set up--- just a wonderful venue all around. Throughout the planning process, Danielle was accessible via phone and email. She is on top of every detail. The cost for a wedding and reception site is well worth it. We are so pleased with our wedding, we would totally choose the Gardens at Gray Gables again and highly recommend this venue to any couple looking for a romantic, classy wedding.

The Gardens at Gray Gables was a fantastic wedding venue. Danielle was very professional and organized, and allowed me to meet with her several times to answer questions I had leading up to the wedding. The rehersal and day of the wedding, Danielle and other staff, served as knowledgeable and hands on wedding directors which made the day run smoothly. The venue is convenient, has lots of parking, provides a nice house for getting ready the day of, has beautiful landscaping and grounds for pictures. The ceremony location was beautiful and the patio and tent for our evening reception were perfect! I have known others to get married there since, and they have been just as pleased as me. I can't say enough good things about the Gardens at Gray Gables!

Our daughter was married at The Gardens at Gray Gables during the month of May. We chose The Gardens because of its beauty and because we wanted the ceremony and reception to be at the same location and outdoors. Immediately after the ceremony, guests were invited for refreshments and appetizers while photos were taken of the wedding party and while the reception was set up. During this time guests were entertained by a magician. We found Danielle of The Gardens at Gray Gables to be easy to work with, offered ideas, and she was open to our ideas. I look forward to planning another event at The Gardens at Gray Gables. Cathi
