We had our wedding room block here and our guests took over about two-thirds of the rooms - it was perfect. A small hotel, it was so special to host our family and friends in one place! It was also the most affordable room block I've EVER seen for a wedding, which was great because about half our guests were from out-of-town.
I decided to get ready here with my bridesmaids in the Mesa Room and it was so fun! The staff took great care of the 15 of us and served cappacinos, coffee, and mimosas, supplied us mirrors and even printed my vows (you can tell I'm a procrastinator). Whatever we needed they had our backs!!
I also hosted Sunday post-wedding brunch in their Golden Vista room for 70 people - spectacular view of downtown Golden and Table Mountain. The food was INCREDIBLE! The award-winning green chile was no lie.
Courtney (event coordinator) and Alex (hotel coordinator) were incredible. Very prompt and easy to communicate with. Thank you both for making my big day perfect.
The Golden Hotel played a huge role in our wedding weekend. We had several rooms and events booked with them. The entire Golden Hotel staff was exceptionally accommodating and wonderful to work with. Their suites are beautiful and being right in downtown Golden was great for us and our guests.
LOVE! I am beyond thrilled with how wonderful this venue was for our winter wedding! Carolyn, the wedding coordinator, was absolutely amazing! She was quick to respond and did an amazing job day-of by setting up and coordinating it all. She made the day absolutely perfect. The hotel rooms were absolutely wonderful too with beautiful views overlooking the creek. The staff at the hotel was beyond great as well! The hotel bar even stayed open a bit later for our guests that had such an amazing time at the wedding. Breakfast the next morning was so yummy! I would highly recommend this venue for anyone looking for the perfect venue with gorgeous views and friendly and helpful staff!
Pros: The venue was beautiful, and the food was really delicious. The bartending staff were fantastic.
Cons: The event coordinator was not always as organized as we would have liked.
Overall, I am very glad that we went with the Golden Hotel - it was much easier than having to coordinate multiple vendors, and it was actually the cheapest option for the size of the wedding we wanted (120-150). The food was outstanding, and the setting was beautiful. The cons were that the staff were sometimes a bit inflexible with requests (i.e. early check-in time for the bridal suite seemed to be an impossible request for them). I felt like the coordinating staff were a bit unorganized.
The Golden Hotel was great. The Clear Creek Ballroom was big enough to fit our seriously large group, the food was ready on time and delicious, and the staff was super helpful and friendly. They worked with us through all of our questions and were very flexible when circumstances changed. Would go back.

Absolutely amazing! Kim and her team did a fantastic job. The food was delicious, they were flexible with our alcohol requests (my new husband has strong feelings about certain types of beer), and were on top of everything. Kim is a pro and we relied on her expertise a ton. I highly recommend the Golden Hotel for the service and the quality of wedding.
Loved this venue for our ceremony and reception. It was great for all our guests to be in the same hotel. Our guests had a great time. The staff overall was great. We had some issue with the sales manager but everything turned out great. The only thing I would have like better was the way they cut our cake and would have like to get our personalized cake topper back.
The Golden Hotel is pretty all inclusive for our 59 guest wedding. Settings, linens, waitstaff, food and beverage, venue coordinator who worked with us the whole time and wrangled everything day of, champagne toast, bartender, a comped night at the hotel in a suite plus breakfast the next morning, centerpieces, ceremony setup and teardown, and probably anything else venue-related you can think of. I stayed at the suite the night before with 2 of my 4 bridesmaids and we had a little sleepover and then were there ready for the makeup and hair ladies first thing. The coordinator/sales manager of the hotel was a complete godsend. She tied tags on ceremony chairs, scattered flower petals, helped set up tables and took care of all of the things you need a coordinator for. She checked on me several times throughout the day, accepted deliveries, told the groomsmen where to go, and provided a lot of reassurance that I luckily didn't really end up needing! Because the catering was through the restaurant at the hotel, food was brought out hot straight from the kitchen and guests almost all cleaned their plates. Special orders for gluten free and 1 vegetarian were all handled with grace and no upcharge. I told the coordinator that I get hangry so she had a plate of appetizers brought out to us during cocktail hour while we were outside taking pictures the first time. We had an open bar and people loved it. The waitstaff were phenomenal and one overheard some inappropriate jokes from hour table and basically became our new best friend. They also were very kind in dealing with a disabled aunt who had an outburst. Special shoutout to them! The best part was that when we were tired and done dancing and everyone had gone, we took the elevator upstairs and went to bed. I wouldn't change a thing.
I spent countless hours researching wedding venues for my daughter. Please do yourself a favor and use a wedding planner. Please ignore all the reviews about this venue as they refer to "Sandy". Sandy no longer runs the wedding sales - Kim does. Where Sandy was nice Kim was cold. Kim does not pay attention to details at all and she left during our wedding after she told me she stays for the whole wedding. That was frustrating. Kim came up to me before our wedding started and said "Its almost 4 o'clock and no one is hear" literally said that to me! I freaked out of course. Than at 4pm we are all lined up and she wants us to start right on time. This is promptly at 4pm. I didn't want too - I was told people arrive at 4pm and socialize for a bit before sitting. She basically made me get everyone to sit down.. and she made us start. She said "My daughter was dying around the corner waiting." I was like ok lets start. So we start and people that were important to us who arrived 10 minutes later missed it. REALLY thanks so much for not doing what you said which is wedding starts at 4:15pm. After that I was excited to move to the reception room which they had upgraded for us. Sadly they had appetizers sitting in warming trays when I ordered walk around appetizers with trays. This was a huge discussion point for us we talked about the importance of the appetizers being walked around so people could socialize. NOPE this wedding everyone just sat down and stayed at their tables. HUGE bummer. Than Kim leaves and leaves me the "catering manager" whom I didn't no and she didn't have a clue so basically one running the party. This hotel does weddings every weekend? I don't think so - the staff seemed confused as to when to turn the lights down. They ignored the Venue recommended DJ when he asked them to turn the lights down. I had to ask them to turn the lights down - it was painful to watch one light at a time go down. No cohesion. We brought shot glasses as parting gifts that were engraved and the staff took them and put them w/ the dirty dishes when they cleaned tables off if people got up. Everything else was pretty awesome but Kim had no passion for this work. She asked me mid week before the wedding if our wedding planner was coming. This was after working only with me for 7 months. PLEASE do not get married w/out a wedding planner so you can enjoy your wedding. I could go on and on. The important thing is if you read reviews about Sandy understand - Sandy is gone. If reviews and personal relationships are important you if you don't connect with "kim" like I didn't don't move forward because you love the venue.
I just had my wedding at The Golden Hotel over Labor Day weekend and I cannot state enough how happy I was with everything, it was literally the perfect day! From the moment I contacted the hotel to inquire about venue information to the morning after when my new husband and I enjoyed our complimentary breakfast at their onsite restaurant, everything was wonderful! Kim Kalisch, the hotels event coordinator, was amazing to work with. She was very responsive to ALL of my questions and worked with me to accommodate anything I needed to ensure my "wedding day vision" came true. The process was smooth and I can honestly say I did not feel stressed at any point throughout the planning process (which is a very rare thing for me). There was a small banquet issue during the dinner service, but the onsite manage worked quickly to remedy the situation, so it did not disrupt the night. I would highly recommend this venue for your ceremony and reception.
First of all, the Golden Hotel is an incredibly beautiful place to get married at! The ceremony site is nestled in the trees next to Clear Creek, and the reception site had an amazing patio that had lounge chairs.
I also cannot thank the Golden, Hotel staff enough for ensuring that our day was perfect. They were amazing! On the way to the hotel the night before the wedding, I stayed with my bridesmaids on the eve of our wedding, the bottom of my wedding cake collapsed and caused my 5 tier cake to tumble into the side of the box we were transporting it in. I was fairly upset, but was trying to hold it together... Not only did our wedding coordinator with The Golden Hotel, Kim, come to look at it - She also brought hotel management and the head chef to see what they could do to help us!! They told me not to worry about it, and they fixed the cake overnight for us at no cost. It was so touching. They actually made the cake even more beautiful than it had been in the beginning too. I'm so very grateful.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is considering doing their ceremony and reception at the same location. It was beautiful, convenient, and the staff is awesome!
Words cannot describe how beautiful the venue was and how wonderful and professional that staff was for our June wedding at the Golden Hotel. They had every detail performed perfectly from beginning to end and Sandi or planner was fantastic! Love,love,loved!
Sandi McCormick and the rest of the team at The Golden Hotel provided the most wonderful service for our wedding on 4/30/16! We booked a year in advance, and any time we contacted Sandi with questions or for assistance, she was always extremely prompt to correspond, and very courteous!
Originally, we had planned to have our wedding ceremony outdoors on the hotel's beautiful Creekside Courtyard, however, Colorado's unpredictable spring snowy weather made this impossible. Amidst the confusion and changes in planning, Sandi and team were very helpful, attentive, and had great suggestions for alternatives (we ended up having the ceremony indoors in the reception space). They were also able to accommodate our somewhat last-minute decision to have the rehearsal dinner catered by the hotel in one of the smaller meeting rooms, which was very nice!
Speaking of food, the catering was EXCELLENT! Hands down, best food I have ever had at a wedding. We had a Mexican buffet for the rehearsal dinner which all of our guests complimented, and the wedding dinner selections were amazing as well.
Besides the weather, our wedding ceremony and reception (both held at the hotel) were even better than I could have imagined, and we can absolutely thank the hotel and staff for that!
Sandi at the Golden Hotel went above and beyond. She was very professional from beginning to end and took every detail into account.
I really felt our package came with a true wedding coordinator. From start to finish she was very responsive making planning a wedding remotely a whole lot easier. She also understood a face-to-face meeting for me involved a plane ticket, so she came prepared and willing to spend time to discuss everything I’d hope to.
The food we had was outstanding and we were able to meet the chef and taste certain items to select for our reception. I highly recommend the green chili bisque!
The suite we had for our wedding night was also fantastic. We arrived to a spread of wedding cake and champagne on ice.
We also felt like royalty at breakfast the next morning at the Bridgewater grill. We really enjoyed the buffet and pretty views of the creek.

I got married at The Golden Hotel on October 3, 2015 and it was literally the best day ever. The staff at the hotel is absolutely amazing and very tentative. I worked with Sandi to coordinate my wedding and the day went perfectly. As a bride who goes through every emotion imaginable during the wedding planning process, having Sandi was exactly what I needed. I always felt at ease during the communication processes because she replied very quickly every time. She was there when I needed her and so helpful with every request. She was there for all of my questions, concerns, our rehearsal and the day of. I can't say enough amazing things about Sandi and truly believe our day was perfect due in part to all of her hard work and attention. The banquet staff and chef(s) are equally amazing. It's been a little over a month since our wedding and guests are still raving about the food. "The best wedding food we've ever had" keeps being said. Which was very important to my husband and I, this wedding was just as much for our guests as it was for ourselves and to know they enjoyed their meals made me extremely happy. From my initial meeting with Ashleigh, to the bar tenders and the front desk staff who was always there for us and our guests crazy requests, everyone was truly awesome. There was another wedding the same day as ours and it was a concern of mine in the beginning, but I can honestly say it was never an issue. I felt like a queen and that my wedding was the only thing going on. The hotel staff had decorated our ceremony site and reception room perfectly. Everything was beautiful and just how I imagined. I was never addressed with any problems or issues the day of (if there were any), it was just all taken care of and I felt at ease and blissful on my wedding day. My guests had absolutely the best time and it couldn't have been more perfect. I'd do it all over in a heart beat. Thank you so much Sandi, Ashleigh, and the entire staff at The Golden Hotel for such an awesome experience. We can' t wait to come back just for dinner, or to celebrate our anniversary. We'd happily recommend this venue for such an important life event.
Sandi and The Golden Hotel staff truly went above and beyond throughout the entire process. Sandi responded to all of my emails in a very timely manner and put my husband and I at ease. With Sandi we never had to worry because she was always a set ahead of us. We received so many compliments on the staff during our actual wedding. The hotel staff were friendly, accommodating, and very attentive. The food was fabulous too! The Golden Hotel exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend this venue!
We used The Golden Hotel for the ceremony and reception venue, they provided the food from their restaurant, and had guest stay in the hotel. It was great to have everything in one place and our guest liked it too. It made our day work out very smoothly.
I really liked that the banquet staff had already set up the room the night before, so we could put the last minute touches in the morning and not have to worry about it the rest of the day. I liked that we had the bridal suite for me and my bridesmaids to get ready in, there was lots of room. I like that the hotel wedding coordinator was there for my rehearsal the day before and early the day of to go over the plans and help out with anything else that came up. Also, the staff for the night was extremely nice, polite, and helpful. All of our guests loved the appetizers and the dinner. They were accommodating for a couple guests that had food allergies. Overall, it was an awesome experience working with The Golden Hotel.
Another great thing was that they had a wedding tasting that my now husband and I attended several months before. We chose several of their preferred vendors since we had the chance to sample and discuss options with them right there. This also made for less stress planning because the vendors are familiar with the venue.
Words cannot express our love for The Golden Hotel! It was the perfect venue for our family/guests to stay as well as having our wedding and reception on site!!
From day one working with Sandi and Ashley, we knew we were at the right place for our wedding! Down to the minute we checked out of the hotel, they had everything perfectly handled and went above and beyond in every meeting, phone call, email and it could not have been any more spectacular to work with them. I would not change a thing and would do it a 1000's times over!
The site was PERFECT for our needs. We had 115 people in attendance including the wedding party. The scenery was breathtaking and everything was in easy walking distance from the hotel. We didn't spend any money on ceremony flowers because the views itself was amazing for a July 31 wedding. It was beautifully green that week.
We can't thank The Golden Hotel, staff and most of all, Sandi and Ashley for all the amazing things they did to make this the best week of our lives!!!
We were married here June 28, 2015. I can't say enough great things about this hotel. They were so sweet, accommodating and made the wedding seamless. Sandi is an EXCELLENT coordinator and the staff in the banquet department was unreal, they made us feel sooooo special. The amount attention to detail and love they all showed was genuine and made our wedding more special because of them!!! This hotel has charm, love and serious dedication in every department and it shows, they love their guests and are dedicated to customer service. The food is awesome too!! 5 stars guys... When we were looking for reception venues, we tried to make it clear that we did not need the ceremony space because we were getting married at our church. Of all the places we looked at, the staff at the Golden Hotel were the only ones who remembered that when we went to look at the venue. This kind of attention to detail is why we chose them and what made our wedding day go so smoothly. The food was amazing and we got multiple compliments from our guests about it. The catering staff was professional and everyone was willing to go above and beyond for us. Sandi worked with us on all of the details and was willing to make changes and additions to ensure our day was special. The front desk caused some confusion with our room block, but Sandi took care of it as soon as it was brought to her attention. When we went up to our room at the end of the night, they had put some of our wedding cake aside for us. Eating wedding cake in bed together after a bath was the perfect end to such a crazy day.
The Golden Hotel was amazing. We worked with Sandi M. for all of our ceremony and reception planning. She is remarkable. Her attention to detail, wisdom, kindness, responsiveness and motivation to provide the best venue was phenomenal. The ceremony area was absolutely beautiful, surrounded by a small river, trees, rocks and all of nature's beauty. The Creekside reception room was elegant, sophisticated and absolutely beautiful. We only saw Sandi one time and the rest of the planning occurred over the phone and email, in which she was excellent at communicating and took all of our needs and concerns into consideration. She was responsive with all of my questions and also helped us at every turn. We then made the trip to Colorado, from Texas and delivered all of our decorations and essentials for the ceremony and reception. She set everything up beautifully and the other staff were great too. Sandi took the time to get to know us, our family and to make sure everything was in place for our big day. She did an incredible job. The hotel was absolutely beautiful from the rooms to the restaurant and the lobby. This is definitely the best one-stop-shop for an elegant, wonderful wedding. We would like to thank Sandi and everyone at The Golden Hotel for all that they did to make our big day wonderful!!

Although this is a small hotel compared to most, they have the best staff. From day one when we looked at the hotel, Ashleigh was extremely helpful and always answered my questions right away. The day of the wedding, the entire staff, from the waiters/waitresses, bartender, front desk staff, EVERYONE, was super helpful and pleasant to work with. That was what made everything run so smooth, they made sure the groom and I had food and drinks at all times, they happily accomodated my brother who didn't like the way his meat was cooked (which, in my opinion and everyone else I talked to, the food was amazing). I just can't say enough about them and how thankful I am that they made my day so perfect. They even customized our dinner menu, which again, was amazing.
One of my favorite things The Golden Hotel did was at the end of our wedding, when my husband and I went up to our suite (which was beautiful), they had a bottle of champagne, our wedding flutes, my bridal bouquet, our cake topper, and a food tray set up with each flavor of our wedding cake, all arranged nicely next to our bed...it was so cute and it made me cry, haha. They also did other cute little gestures like post the names of our dogs on their welcome pets board, and posted our wedding around the hotel and in the elevator. I wished the day never ended.
The only minor complaints I have was that the rooms were kind of pricey, it would have been nice to get a cheaper group discount than what our guests got, which was only about $20-$30 off the rooms. I know more guests wanted to stay but it was just too expensive. And the 'pet-friendly hotel' isn't as pet friendly as we thought. If you bring your dog they can't be in the hotel room alone, and if anyone complains about them they will call the pound to come pick them up! Not sure if that piece of it is exaggerated but it is definitely not what we expected from a 'pet-friendly hotel'. Luckily my dogs were only there for a little while so it didn't affect us at all.
But definitely the best day ever!! Thank you to the staff for everything you did!!!! We love The Golden Hotel and wouldn't have had our wedding anywhere else.
The Golden Hotel nicely accommodated our daughters wedding with 125 guests. Sandy M. coordinated with us throughout the planning process, quickly responded to questions and issues, and gracefully and confidently lead the wedding and receptions events. The town of Golden nicely provided an after reception night life. The hotels workers were fast, prompt and professional. The rooms provided for the wedding party and guests were very nice. The food at the reception was served timely, warm and was very good. Our thanks to Sandy and the Golden Hotel staff for a very nice wedding and reception. We highly recommend the Golden Hotel.
The Golden Hotel and staff made our wedding day such a memorable, great day. Leading up to the event they were very responsive and helpful with every question or change I had. On the day of I felt like everyone at the hotel truly cared about making our day stress free and enjoyable. The ceremony location in the courtyard is beautiful. We loved the mountain feel without being too far from the city and easy transportation for our guests. When we first looked at the Clear Creek Ballroom, we were not super excited about the decor but once they got it decorated for the day of it was completely transformed. It looked great! I would definitely recommend chair covers, we saw the room with and without and loved the look with the covers and sashes. We got compliments on the food from our guests and the bartending service was also excellent. Sandi was awesome to work with throughout the whole experience! I would definitely recommend this venue to other brides.
Our rehearsal dinner was held in the banquet room overlooking Washington Avenue at The Golden Hotel. From the food to the service and the amazing accommodations, my husband and I had an incredible time. The town of Golden has so much to offer! Ashleigh, the banquet manager, took the time to tend to our every detail and she didn't skip a beat. I highly recommend The Golden Hotel for any occasion!
The entire staff of the Golden Hotel made our wedding date a truly special and memorable event. We felt like a King and Queen for the day. Special thanks to Ashley and Sandi who went out of their way to make our visions come true! I wish it could happen again!

We got married on June 28, 2014 at The Golden Hotel. Our reception took place in the Golden Vista room which is at the front facing Washington Street. It was BEAUTIFUL!!!! We are so happy we chose this location. Ashleigh did a fantastic job coordinating everything for us prior to the wedding and the day of. The room rental includes basic linen colors (we did a black/white wedding so it was all included), champagne toast, cake cutting, a dance floor, and a suit that evening. We actually checked-in at 3pm (between the ceremony and reception) so we had a place to hang out between the church ceremony, pictures, and before the reception began.
I made all the decorations for the tables and was able to drop them off the Tuesday before the wedding. I met with Ashleigh and described how I wanted things set up. She took notes they stored everything in their office. It was great to be able to drop it off early (one less thing to worry about). The day of the wedding, Ashleigh and the staff set everything up. They did a phenomenal job!!!! It was everything we wanted it to be and more. I am a control freak so it was difficult to let go of setting up the room. Ashleigh assured me it would be great and it was!!!! The room was absolutely beautiful. We did black table cloths and napkins, with white chair covers and black sashes. It was so elegant and everyone said what a great job they did setting it up. We were able to fit 7 tables of 10 tops, the bar, and the dance floor. We also did a candy bar in the back and that was also set up wonderfully.
Everyone's food came out timely and hot. We served Chicken Saltimbocca, Filet, and a vegetarian dish and every single person said their meal was fantastic. We also did open bar with well liquor, wine, and beer. For 60 people it was about $1500.00 and so worth it. The hotel staff accommodated all the children with special meals, and other guests that had special requests. They were all so friendly and the service was fantastic. I even had nervous/upset stomach at the beginning of the reception and Ashleigh did everything she could to make sure I felt okay. I really appreciated that. The staff communicated constantly throughout the evening. Dish changes (salad, to dinner, to cake) went very well. No one waited for their meals and everyone received what they ordered. They even accommodated allergies and special requests.
When we got up to our room that evening, the top tier to our cake, champagne, and some other small touches were waiting for us (compliments of the hotel). The suit was beautiful, quiet, and was included with the room rental. We went out in downtown Golden after the reception for a bit but it was so nice to walk back to the hotel (it was close so no drinking and driving). I also stayed there Friday evening and that room (two beds) was fantastic. I was very pleasantly surprised at how nice these rooms were.
Brad and I were so incredibly pleased with the service, communication, and pleasant experience from/at the Golden Hotel and with Ashleigh and the staff. We LOVED that we chose here for the reception. It was also great taking pictures in downtown Golden and along Clear Creek. It was worth every penny and we will definitely be returning.

The Golden Hotel did a fantastic job hosting our wedding. The outdoor ceremony site by the creek is beautiful and the indoor reception ballroom was the perfect size for our 80 person wedding. I would highly recommend this hotel for a wedding. The people in the sales department were always very helpful and quickly replied to all my questions.
This place handled the day-of details perfectly - managed all the vendors, made wonderful food,mimed everything well, and on top of it all, were very nice and accommodating. They helped to make our wedding day absolutely perfect.
I had my reception at the Golden Hotel. They were wonderful to work with. Sandi made herself so available to me, and recognized me every time I came in to handle something. I was able to tailor the day exactly the way I wanted. I had several projects that I did myself, and they were very accommodating with the set ups. The food was amazing (one of our groomsmen is a chef, and couldn't stop raving) and the service was prompt. Even though we got a little carried away with dancing at the end of the night, nobody got upset with us when we went past our scheduled time. They even opened the bar early for us when the guests were gathered before the reception started. I did not list a price here because my parents generously handled that part, so I'm not sure exactly what the total was. The only thing I heard from my guests that even sounded like a complaint was that the hotel room pricing was high. However, it's a great location, and the beds are so comfortable, I never wanted to leave them.
If I was rating the hotel for the day of only, I would give it five stars, but if I was rating it only on the events up until the wedding day, I would give it one star.
We chose to have our only our ceremony at the Golden Hotel. They offer a package specifically for this and made it seem like this was a very popular option.
Approximately three months after booking the site (and all other venues for the weekend), we received an e-mail stating that they accidentally booked the indoor backup room used in case of inclement weather. Therefore, should the weather not hold up, we would have to cut our attendance list by approximately 50 guests so that we could fit in the room they had available. Realizing this may not work, they offered to refund our money, but at that point there was no going back. We had already booked our reception and rehearsal dinner locations and most other venders, so we had no choice but to hope for the best.
As if the worry of the weather holding out wasn't difficult enough to handle. About two months before the wedding I received a phone call stating that they had booked another wedding to begin at 5:00 pm, so we would need to move up our start time from 4:00 pm to 3:30 pm to ensure the ceremonies did not overlap. This of course added much unnecessary stress to the final days of planning. Not only did we have to rush to change our invitations to reflect the new ceremony start time but also had to notify all venders and associated parties of the change in schedule.
Because of the other wedding, they also had no location for the groom and groomsmen to stay before the ceremony. The only option they had in order to remain unseen was to hangout at the restaurant bar of the hotel.
Like I said in my title, the location itself is beautiful, and we were very happy with the way the ceremony turned out. Sandi McCormick did a fantastic job dealing with the mess that was left by someone else, and I commend her for her efforts. It was just very difficult to deal with some of the issues that came up before hand, and if I had the choice to do it all over again knowing what I know now, the beautiful location was not worth the headache up until the day.
Went above and beyond what I could have imagined. The staff was friendly, helpful, and kept me calm on the most stressful day of my life!
As a teacher, I didn't have much time to plan my own wedding. With the help of Sandi McCormick I felt like I had a built-in wedding planner that took care of all the details! She and her team were very professional, always emailing back and forth and letting us come in to discuss plans in person. I was most impressed by their willingness to cater to my guests. I found out that one family member was gluten-free & vegan and two days before the wedding the chef said he could easily whip something up just for her. It was so sweet and exactly what you want in a venue! All in all this hotel is cute, has a great staff and is within walking distance to all the great little shops of Golden. Having your reception here allows you concentrate on what matters most- friends and family and enjoying the day with your new spouse. One add on- they also give you a free night stay on your one-month anniversary! We're really excited to go back and celebrate the joy of that day!
The Golden Hotel was a great place for our wedding reception. The staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful, the food was excellent and the guest rooms were very comfortable with great views. We were on a tight budget and the cost of the food and ballroom rental was very reasonably priced. I also loved that it is in downtown Golden and walking distance to many great restaurants, shops and the church for my ceremony. I highly recommend The Golden Hotel.

Beautiful outdoor ceremony. Hors D'oeuvres and drinks on the deck for our guests while we finished taking pictures. And after a great reception no one had to drive home if they didn't want to.
Golden is also a really neat place especially for out of town guests.
I couldn't have been happier with the Golden Hotel and how my wedding turned out. The venue is beautiful outside without needing to spruce it up. Adding just a few flowers made it even more beautiful. The staff was accommodating and helpful. The room that is provided to the Bride and Groom is VERY helpful for getting ready. I was extremely happy I chose the Golden Hotel for my wedding.
Incredibly disappointing.
We decided to have our rehearsal dinner at The Golden Hotel and it was a mess. There were only 23 people in our group and dinner took almost 4 hours.
Our meals were coming out 3 plates at a time anywhere between 45 minutes to an hour apart. Our guests, trying to be respectful, waited till all parties at their respective table all had their food so by the time most of us began eating our meals were on their way to being cold.
Of the three tables, an entire table ended up sending their food back and then they had to wait another half an hour to get the replacement meals.
Prior to our entrees, the salads didn't come out until an hour and a half in and then the bread didn't come out until after the salads.
To try and be fair, the evening of our rehearsal dinner, The Golden Hotel was also hosting a wedding, however, as a venue that hosts weddings and events all the time, they should have been staffed accordingly and the back-up should not have been that bad.
The wait staff did their best to apologize, and were all available for us, which says that the issue was in the kitchen.
To give them some credit, our honeymoon suite was fantastic and, the morning of our wedding, they made sure I was able to get into the suite, early, so I had a place to get my hair and make-up done.
Once all was said and done, in regards to the rehearsal dinner, they only charged us for half of the costs.
I think they might be worth looking into for your event, just make sure you're the only event going on that evening. ;)
The hotel is beautiful and set in beautiful Golden. The accommodations were so great and a great price. The event coordinators I worked with were great and very helpful. They responded so quickly to everything I needed. They decorated just the way we discussed and it look beautiful. The food was not the best, but I addressed this with the hotel and I don't think this is a normal happening. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.
We got married at The Golden Hotel in October and my husband and I have agreed if we could redo it, we'd keep it all the same. The staff at The Golden was polite, accommodating, timely, and helpful. We live out of state, and Sandi (our day of coordinator) was great at responding to my e-mails and calls since I couldn't be there in person before hand. On our wedding day everything was run smooth and professional and we didn't have to worry about anything. Plus the creekside ceremony site is amazing, especially with all of the fall leaves. I would highly recommend The Golden Hotel!
This was one of the first and only places we looked at when deciding on a venue and we feel in love with this place! It is a beautiful location. Every one was so helpful and made our day perfect. They made sure everything was in order without us even having to ask them. Sandy was very sweet and professional and really made all the details fall into place! Would recommend this venue for sure!

Jessica and Melissa at The Golden Hotel were amazing! They always found time to meet with me and responded to my calls and e-mail quickly! Everything went off without a hitch at our wedding a so much of that was because of their dedication and focus!
Our day was absolutely perfect! The staff at the Golden Hotel treated us like family. They took care of all of the setup and worked with our other vendors so we didn't have to worry about anything! I would highly recommend this venue to anyone who is looking to enjoy a stress free day.
I spoke with a staff member at The Golden Hotel although they did not have an opening on my date they were extremely helpful. The staff member I spoke with actually took the time to recommend a couple other venues for me! I wish I had the opportunity to work with them.
The Golden Hotel left me disappointed and wishing we choose somewhere else. The food is horrible! Over cooked, dry, and over priced. They had made the cake and told me they have made wedding cakes time and time again. When it came out it was a plan sheet cake. The worst cake I've ever seen or eaten. WTF? The band in the lounge no showed which was the entire reason I planned a cocktail hour there. The front desk staff is rude. They lost the shoes to my husbands tux rental and said it was not thier problem. Lastly DO NOT book a block of rooms. They will over charge you by 50 plus dollars. Make sure and check online rates they will be much cheaper. If you book through the room block the will refuse to change the rate for you once you are there. All around this place is not worth the stress!

I loved that my husband and I got decided to go with The Golden Hotel for our ceremony and reception site. Melissa and Jessica were amazing to work with and so accomodating. All the staff worked really hard to make sure our wedding day was the best possible day and it was! The food at the reception was delicious. We got lots of compliments on venue site and all of our guests were very pleased with their experiences as well. Which also meant a lot to us.
My wedding was perfect at the Golden Hotel, I could not ask for a better place, at the Cost. Melissa and Jessica the Coordinators were awesome to work with. They were accommodating to our every need, and helped us through the whole process. They allowed us set up the wedding the way we wanted too. The venue is absolute gorgeous. I would recommend this venue to anyone, that is looking for good service, food, and an all around great experience.
We had our rehearsal dinner at the Golden Hotel and it certainly set the stage for a wonderful weekend and wedding day itself! They were easy to work with and had several great options for meals to choose from. They had a flexible bar options (cash, hosted to a certain time or amount or completely hosted) and the space itself was lovely. Big enough room that 60+ people felt very comfortable. My husband's family had a slideshow to show and the hotel staff was accomodating in helping get that set up and ready to use, plus microphones for speeches. I would highly recommend them!
The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because the ballroom is just that...a ballroom. If you are fine with it, go here!! The staff are WONDERFUL, food is good, service great...We had a fantastic time and everyone says they had a blast! The rental fee is reasonable, but just like everyone else, they get you with food and booze costs!
The hotel was amazing and helpful. Most of our guests were from out of town an the hotel took good care of them and made it so easy on me when everybody was checking in. The staff understood exactly what my husband and I were looking for in our wedding and they did it beautifully. The decorations were great and the food was delicious. The setting in the foothills wowed our guests and was the perfect backdrop for our wedding photos. The hotel was so affordable and gave our guests a great deal not to mention the rooms were so fancy and nice. I can not say enough good things about the Golden Hotel staff and the hotel itself. I look back at my wedding and I love it!
We loved that the reception room overlooked the river and that we were able to reserve part of the outdoor patio.
