The venue looked nice, but the service was terrible.
We were excited to have found a venue that could do it all, but unfortunately, what we got was poor service, an untimely setup and a loss of our guests due to them starving.
It doesn't feel good when your great grandma, aunts and uncles, walk up to you to say bye early at your wedding because they all need to go eat when you paid a fortune to avoid that from happening.
Below are the items we reached out to Wendi Hroncich about, months ago, just to be ghosted after our final payment was made.
Buffet:
•We ran out of food with four tables left to eat. We went with a buffet over plated, to ensure that our guests had plenty to eat, but it turned out that no backups of anything were created. This resulted in 36 of our family members leaving around 7:15pm, rather than staying all the way through.
•Food was cold, just like we were worried about at the food tasting.
•Fry bar: It was brought out at the right time, but we had to hunt down Tiffany to get tongs to be able to serve it.
•Ice cream bar: Our impression from our previous meetings was that the ice cream bar was a self•serve ice cream station with toppings. It was to our disappointment to learn that we had literal ice cream bars, like what you could get at Costco.
•Service:
•Water refills and cleanup: I had several guests ask for more water as well as for their plates to be removed from the table. It took 45 minutes for them to get water as well as plates to be cleared after being asked. Each person that had asked, had to get up and find the servers.
•Champagne: Champagne was given out for toasts, except for the newlyweds.
•Cake: Cutting time was scheduled before the wedding day. They brought the cake out on time, but there were no forks or spoons, no plates, no knife, and no cake server. Our photographer had to go back to the kitchen and ask for those items which resulted in Tiffany coming out with the knife. He then had to go back again to ask for the plates, forks and cake server.
•Bread: Bread was brought out when we ran out of food. No one was informed. It took the officiant to ask if the bread was up for grabs after he walked by the room.
Ceremony:
•Our understanding was that we would have a cart with chauffeurs to bring people over who were not capable of walking, but we didn’t get that. My dad ended up being the chauffeur.
•Bride's ride: We were told, by Tiffany, someone would be taking the bride out to the ceremony area with her dad. Her dad had to go back inside to find a person to drive.
•Ceremony setup:
•Signs: There were no signs and no personnel to tell people where to go. I, the groom, had to tell everyone, who was deferred to the reception hall, where the ceremony was located.
•Chairs: Ceremony area was not set up until 3:15 pm. Our invites had stated 3:00pm.
Reception Hall:
•Projector: We were informed that the projector was not put out for the slideshow, so a family member had to search for a staff member. We were then told Tiffany would come in at 2 pm. No one was willing to help us get it, except for someone telling him what room he could find the projector in.
•Suites: The coffee creamers expired by about a year. Had this gone unnoticed, some of us could have gotten sick from this.
All our guests, my wife and I, all feel like we were robbed of what should have been a great once-in-a-life-time experience. Please, for your special experience, do not let this place steal from you what they stole from us.
We had a pandemic wedding in July 2020. Wendy was an absolute superstar and worked with us to make our special day so special despite the terrible circumstances.
The food was exquisite and the venue was just perfect and beautiful. Love the new bridal suit and it was the perfect place for myself and my bridal party to spread out and get ready
I am so happy we got married here! Wendi was always extremely quick to respond and very helpful and flexible. I made a million changes and she always made sure they happened. The food was great and everyone said it was a beautiful and fun wedding. Thanks again!
Any questions?
Such an amazing place for a wedding! The entire place is very photogenic and you are able to take pictures almost anywhere (as long as golfers aren't golfing). Wendy, the venue wedding coordinator, was always available to answer all our questions and was so supportive on the day of. Food was pretty good for the most part. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants an absolute beautiful venue.
We just got married at Echo Falls and first off, the venue is beautiful and there are a ton of great photo spots. Overall though, our experience working with the staff at Echo Falls was challenging. The catering manager was very difficult and usually said ‘no’ to our requests until we pushed back. For example, they changed the pricing of food and alcohol after we were already under contract. They promised us a golf cart processional and then said “it depends on how many carts we have since Saturday is a busy day for golf” - I thought the people spending thousands of dollars for a wedding would get priority but we had to push back on that too. We also spoke with the GM who was helpful in fixing our issues but was very condescending to talk to. He made it seem like all of our issues were resolved (pricing for food/wine, golf cart issues, etc.) and while they were at that point, we had to push back on EVERYTHING and figure out the solutions for ourselves. I definitely wouldn’t say the customer service was top notch. That said, on the day of our wedding, the food was delish and we thankfully didn’t have any issues day-of. We chose to hire and awesome day-of coordinator (from Cake and Lace) and I think that was a great decision because again, the catering manager just wasn’t very friendly and accommodating. She was helpful on the day of our wedding but getting to that point was a serious struggle. To any couples considering this venue for their wedding, I would just caution you to get everything in writing and ensure the quotes you’re given won’t change before your wedding day. I plan events (large and small) as part of my job and I had never had a vendor change pricing or services after we were under contract. It certainly caught us off guard (and I still think it’s extremely unprofessional) so wanted to share our lessons learned.
Our wedding at Echo Falls was a dream come true, seriously. Wendi, the catering coordinator, was constantly in contact with me, providing me with detailed answers to all my questions. The staff was also phenomenal on the day of the wedding. I really couldn't have asked for a more beautiful venue with a team that was so well organized. Thank you, Echo Falls!
I am so happy with my experience with Echo Falls! The wedding coordinator, Wendi, is amazing and made the whole process so smooth. I visited the venue many times and even had to push back my wedding date after I had already booked, but they were super accommodating. The chef is wonderful too and I was able to customize my menu to be exactly what I wanted and to fit my budget. Day-of was amazing, the staff was all so great I truly felt like a princess!
Our wedding at Echo Falls was wonderful! The coordinator, Krista, did a fantastic job. We hoped to have the ceremony outdoors, but weather did not allow for that. The staff was able to set up the room for the ceremony beautifully, then flip the room quickly for the reception. Our guests complimented the food and drinks nonstop! The venue was able to accommodate all requests we had. So happy we chose to celebrate our day at Echo Falls!
Response from the Vendor on 10/05/2016
Thank you for the kind words. It was so nice to work with you and your family. We would love to hear from you and cant wait to see the wedding photos. Please keep in touch!
My clients hired me to help them research a venue. As an Event Planner you always want the best fit for your clients. After going on a few appointments with other venues they fell in love with Echo Falls. I have to say from the time they decided on Echo Falls until the end of the wedding. The service was outstanding!! Nikki, the Banquet Event Manager was a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process! She was quick with responding to emails and very knowledgeable. She also was very easy to work with and was willing to go the extra mile to make our clients happy! During set-up on the day of the wedding, she was very helpful! Her staff was amazing! They were on point with everything! They were very pleasant and cheerful! I will always keep Echo Falls in mind when asked to help my clients find a venue. They will go above and beyond you expectations! Thank you for being so great!
This is a beautiful location for a wedding. We had over 180 guests and the room accommodated everyone well. The food was good, however the service staff did not serve everything we had on selected for our menu. One entree was left out. The service staff also forgot the sparkling cider for the toast. Overall it was a great wedding. If you use this vendor, make sure you confirm the menu right before the wedding.
My husband and I are very happy to have had our wedding and reception at the Golf Club at Echo Falls. From the day one, they've been quick to respond to our calls and e-mails and made sure all our questions were answered.
On the day of our wedding, we didn't have to worry anything as the staff there was very professional and very helpful.
Both our parents are also happy for the beautiful wedding they helped us put together. We highly recommend this venue.
The Golf Club at Echo Falls was an absolutely stunning place to have a wedding. We visited a year before our wedding on a rainy day. Since we married in April, we knew we wanted somewhere that would be beautiful, even if it rained. Luckily, it was a sunny day, and the lush green of the golf club, the trees and the waterfalls were the perfect backdrop. The room was a perfect size for a 100 person wedding, and the staff were beyond friendly, professional and on top of anything we needed. Nikki, our Catering Sales Manager, was wonderful and quick to respond. And PS. The food was amazing!
My husband and I really made the right choice having our wedding at Echo Falls. I looked at every venue from Arlington to Portland and not only was Echo Falls the best valued it was a beautiful location. But really made our experience unforgettable was Carissa, their wedding coordinator. She is magnificent. She was so helpful and always about taking the stress of the wedding. We had 1 issue at the wedding with our wine/beer not being included (which was 100% my fault) and Carissa came to the rescue and was able to get us enough for our guests. Our wedding was spectacular and everything I could of dreamed of thanks to Echo Falls. They include A LOT of things other venues DON'T. I couldn't of dreamed of a better day, and we are not broke from the bill :)
Thanks Carissa!!!
The coordinator was easy to work with and smoothed out all details flawlessly on our wedding day. The fountain outside is beautiful and the reception hall and restrooms are beautiful. The color scheme inside the hall isn't overpowering so it does not throw off any wedding day colors. The food was really good. It had a lot of flavor which I feel is normally lacking at most wedding buffets.
My wedding was great. That is where the niceness will end with this review. HORRIBLE customer service. Our "day of" person disappeared from the wedding in the beginning never to be seen again. We brought our own wine and when they returned what was left over, they took our nice bottles and replaced them with $3 "White lable" bottles. We are still currently arguing with their horrible office. I can't stress enough do not waste your time and money at this place you will regret it for months afterwards as we are now. This place shouldn't even be advertise on any wedding websites. Take my advice and stay away from this place!
We could NOT have chosen a more perfect venue. Beyond the beauty of the actual location, we worked with Carissa and she absolutely great to work with. She was quick on returning our calls and emails - and met with us as often as we needed. She also helped make sure everything went smoothly on our wedding day - I was so grateful to have her there! The food was fantastic - we received a ton of compliments/acknowledgements about the food. It wasn't just "buffet" good...it was just darn good all around. The staff were a pleasure to have around - very attentive but not in the way. I am so happy we found and decided on Echo Falls.
I had a fantastic experience with Echo Falls. It was a beautiful day and the wedding coordinator was very helpful and extremely efficient. Everything went very smoothly and I could not have asked for a better day!
The staff here were so nice. Carissa, the coordinator, was amazing. She walked me through every step during the planning process and on my wedding day she made sure that everything went off without a hitch. The setting was beautiful, the food was delicious, it was amazing.
The food was awesome, the place is beautiful, the employees were really helpful. Loved it!
From first meeting to the end of the wedding night: the Echo Falls venue and C*** (event coordinator/catering manager) delivered. Viewing the space in the cold wet month of March it was still easy to see how beautiful the space would be for an end of August wedding. At our tasting we enjoyed several tasty offerings with my parents and were able to easily conclude what we wanted--although any of the food choices would have been delicious. At the wedding itself and afterward, we were told by guests how much they enjoyed the food selections on our buffet. We chose a single entree due to the taste factor; all four of us really liked the petite sirloin. We initially planned on going with a double entree buffet of prime rib and pork but after the tasting we changed our minds and were thrilled with the results. We added an extra vegetable to the selections and everything was perfect. They even worked to ensure gluten free options were available for our guests. The space worked perfectly for our just over 100 guests with the outdoor reception by the "waterfall" beautiful. The venue is clean and picturesque with a separate area for Bridal party and Groomsmen to get ready. Photo opportunities are plentiful with the golf course. Easy to decorate; we brought in everything and C** and her terrific, friendly and beyond helpful staff assisted with making our ideas become a reality. Only thing to note: make sure you specify keeping cake for yourself- we did not and despite the size of the cake we bought, there was none leftover for us to take home. We had ordered a cake that was supposed to serve more than 80 guests more than we had so we were disappointed by this but the world goes on. Also, be sure if you use the outside reception to plan on a two microphone system with your dj: the water is pretty but it makes noise. We planned for this and we were glad we did. Honestly, we couldn't have been more pleased with our overall feeling about the space and event. Take the ride just outside of Woodinville, like ten minutes and you'll have beautiful scenery, plenty of free parking, lovely food options and a day to remember.
Everything was flawless at our wedding, thanks to Carissa, the Catering Sales Manager and the rest of the staff at Echo Falls who took care of many of the little details. Carissa had our day planned out to a 'T' so we didn't have to worry about a thing. We had many, many people comment on how great the food was. The setting of Echo Falls is absolutely beautiful. Each groomsmen got to escort a bridesmaid to the ceremony in a golf cart and we had a pretty waterfall behind us as we said our vows. Echo Falls is a great venue!
Carissa and staff at Echo Falls were great. They were quick and on top of things to not allow anything to get off track. The food was delicious and I had so many people make comments of how good it was. Would highly recommend.
They are awesome and the place is beautiful. The banquet room is large and has lots of bay windows to see the beautiful landscape and water feature at the 18th hole. The pictures turned out amazing too with such a beautiful back drop. Food is also great.
I loves having my wedding at Echo Falls, it is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! They offer outdoor ceremonies, as well as indoor, right nest to a waterfall. Carissa is the coordinator there and is very helpful. The staff is great too! They helped set up and take down. I highly recommend Echo falls for a wedding location.
My husband and I had our wedding reception here in August 2010 and loved everything about it. The catering manager, Carissa, was a pleasure to work with; she responded to all of our questions promptly, helped us order specialty beer, and made sure everything went smoothly during our reception. She even set up our cupcake tower when the baker ran out of time!
The food was excellent. We even mixed and matched from some of the buffet options at no extra charge. Our guests had nothing but good things to say.
The space itself was very easily decorated. We loved the windows and the view of the lake. Even though we only had 75 guests, they did not look lost in the large banquet room. The air conditioning and outdoor patio came in handy, as the weather hit a record high on our wedding day. Overall, we were very happy with this venue and recommend it highly!
