We used the golf club as our wedding reception venue and it was the WORST experience that I have ever had. First of all, we were engaged for about 18 months and in that time we had four coordinators that we had to deal with. I didn't realize ...that the turnover was so high. We were willing to give them the benefit of the doubt except that their records were so unorganized and we had to explain our situation, how much we had already paid, what we wanted, etc. each time! There was no communication from one person to another. About six months before the wedding the third coordinator came in and took out too much of a payment from my bank account, then took about two weeks to put the money back in my account, she rarely responded when I emailed her or called her with questions, and when she did respond she was rude. I would ask her questions involving how much certain things would cost and she would just blow me off, saying that we would talk about it at our "details" meeting which would be two months before the wedding. I explained to her that there were certain things I needed to know in advance so that I could budget (I cannot just pull money out of the air to pay for things), and when I would bring this up to her she would just not respond. When we finally did meet with her she made several rude remarks as to how many questions I asked. Also, I had been making payments consistently throughout our engagement and was planning to make the final payment a week before the wedding (as per our contract which I read through numerous times and was more than prepared to abide by), but one month before the wedding she sent me an invoice stating that I had paid $2,000 LESS than what I actually had. I proceeded to pull confirmation emails that I had saved (luckily) from my payments along with copies of my bank statements showing that I had indeed made these payments. It took her a week to respond, of course, and then another to send me an updated invoice. I asked her a simple question about the room set-up for the wedding which, literally, took me three weeks to get an answer to. Then, TWO WEEKS before our wedding there was a new coordinator! Luckily, she answered my room set-up question, but when she sent me my final invoice IT WAS STILL WRONG!! Finally, on the day of the actual wedding we show up at the reception and the chair covers and sashes that we had already paid for (and that I had really wanted) were not on the chairs. When my mother brought this up to the guy in charge (apparently our new coordinator was not there, which no one bothered to tell us!) he proceeded to make excuses! After the wedding when it was brought up to our coordinator that this had been the case she ALSO made excuses, instead of just apologizing and owning up to the mistake! It then took over a week for the golf club to bother refunding my money. The only two positives that I can say about this place is that the food was good and the facility itself is reasonably nice. But I would highly discourage anyone from using this venue for anything! Unfortunately, it was not until afterwards that we heard several of our other friends give us their bad experiences with this place (wish they had told us sooner).
