a hotel with access to get ready room(s) from the night before and all day, a place to store décor items, and covered FREE parking. The food options are plentiful and everything was so good! Our guests were raving about everything from the appetizers, main course, and drinks. However, none of that compares to the absolutely AMAZING staff! We worked with Olivia from the first tour of the space all the way through dancing during the reception. It can't be overstated how they literally made my dream wedding come true. I did not have to worry about a single thing on wedding day. They set everything up exactly how I wanted it (if not better) and did all the extra things I did not even know to ask for. They took care of some issues that came up with extreme professionalism. I have zero regrets as this was one of the best choices I have made.

above and beyond her job title in all ways. She originally was not the coordinator when we first booked all the way back in July. With the transition, she met with us multiple times leading up to the wedding week. Moving her schedule to accommodate our schedules to tour the venues, have catch up meetings, and answer all of our questions no matter how tiny or annoying they can be. But she seriously shined during the week of the wedding.
We were able to drop things off early, go through a full details meeting about what we expected going in. She set up all our decorations up for us for the day of. And even assisted in stuffing in the hotel bags with our moms. She got us checked into our rooms early and really make sure the entire day was as stress free as possible. During the reception, we even got a chance to see and dance with her on the dance floor.
Olivia and everyone at the Grand Event Center really did make our day as magical as we imagined. We would not have been able to be as relaxed as we were without their help.

First of all, let's talk about the venue itself. It's new, well-maintained, and spotlessly clean. Plus, they've got great air conditioning, so you don't have to worry about sweating through your summer wedding. They really go above and beyond to make sure the space is just perfect for your big day.
But what truly sets The Grand apart is their incredible staff. Shannah, the lovely person we met on our first visit, made us feel so welcome and special. She genuinely cared about our love story and our vision for the wedding. By the end of the meeting, we felt like old friends! And that level of warmth and care continued throughout the entire process.
As we got closer to the wedding, Olivia and Melissa took over and blew us away with their attention to detail. These ladies are event planning experts! They asked us questions we hadn't even thought of, to ensure that every aspect of our day would be flawless.
The week leading up to the wedding, we felt like we were their number one priority. Olivia and Melissa were always there, asking how they could assist us - from getting us coffee, to delivering food, to managing our vendors. They truly went above and beyond! On the day of the wedding, they must have brought us and our families coffee at least four times. And let me tell you, they absolutely nailed the personal touches. My husband is obsessed with Macaroni and Cheese, and they surprised him with a special bowl of it at our head table. And as for me, they left a thoughtful note and a bottle of espresso martinis in our room. How amazing is that?
I genuinely miss working with Olivia, Melissa, and the rest of the staff at The Grand. They made our wedding day truly unforgettable. All of our guests couldn't stop raving about how friendly and accommodating the staff was, how delicious the food was, and how stunning the venue looked. I couldn't agree more!

People don’t talk enough about how stressful and lonely wedding planning can be. It stirs up a lot of gross emotions, people want to weigh in too much or not enough, and it can feel isolating. (IE: sobbing over chair decorations because no one will tell you which one looks better or will say it doesn’t matter.)
Shannah helped us so much guiding us through choosing/obtaining the basics and necessities, while also giving great advice on the unnecessary (but pretty) add-ons. Majority of us will only do this once and this will be our first and hopefully only time. It’s really hard to but all your trust into a bunch of strangers but I promise if you choose this place everything will be amazing. Even my little brother who is fairly quiet said Shannah was awesome and “kept it pushin” because timelines go by way too fast and having her helped a ton. 😂

From the cocktail hour space to the reception to the outdoor patio, believe me when I say it will surpass everything you’ve been hoping for for your wedding! I only wish I could attach a picture of my face when we first saw the space for the first time because it would explain it all!
I’m a firm believer wedding food can make or break the mood for the night… and the food here was to die for! I cannot stress enough how wonderful Chef Collins did! I still dream of eating our wedding dinner over and over and over… this was yet another thing our guests raved about! No one left hungry, but everyone left wanting more!
Lastly, having a hotel attached to your venue was probably the smartest thing we could have done… other than getting married! It was so nice to be able to eat, drink and walk/stumble back to the room to continue the party! More convenient than you could imagine!

We raved about it for nearly a year to anyone who asked since we had the tasting and to nobody's surprise, Aaron and the culinary team delivered a beautiful and delicious meal. Nearly all of our guests were from out of town so having the hotel connected to the venue was absolutely vital and it was very simple to get guests booked and then get updates on the room block bookings to make sure we were on track. The venue, on its face, is absolutely beautiful and didn't need much extra decoration. We delivered the items we had a few days prior to the wedding, gave a basic explanation of what we wanted, and got to see the final product unveiled right before our reception started. The final product was beautiful and better than we imagined. Shannah coordinated all of our vendors for a seamless day. They also coordinated so that the bride and her party could get ready in the suite and the groom and his party had a hospitality room in the hotel on the day-of. There was a plate of our desserts and a bottle of champagne waiting for us in our room after the wedding. They even accommodated our dog coming to our first look and for some photos before the ceremony. This venue absolutely met all of our needs.

Their team really took the stress off of Mike and me and I was absolutely blown away with how the venue looked on our wedding day. It was everything we could have dreamed of and they even brought some desserts up to our room so that we could share a special moment after the reception was over.

I’ve ever had. Still to this day our guests rave about it. The only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is that they accidentally served the wrong chicken dinner. We HIGHLY enjoyed our food from the tasty bison empanadas and stuffed mushrooms to the butternut squash ravioli! The guests highly enjoyed the grub as well!
Our stay at the Courtyard by Marriott OSU was also very nice. The staff was courteous enough to make sure we had our guest gift bags, wedding decorations and even our room details (mirrors, beauty stations etc.) all in order leading up to the big day.
Being a bride and groom can get kind of stressful, especially planning a wedding of 170+, but The Grand Event Center made it easy to accomplish and picture perfect at that!

Caroline was a pleasure to work with, she was very quick on communication and she helped make our ideas a reality. We knew we were in good hands with her! I loved being able to use all of the wonderful spaces at The Grand Event Center had to offer (ballroom, atrium/pre-fuction room, etc), and being able to use the courtyard for our cocktail hour was just perfect! The food was incredible (we got so many compliments) and the bar service was excellent. The staff there were very attentive and so professional, everything went perfectly. My only comment was that we had to be out of the space by midnight, so the end of our reception was a little rushed. While they did let us go over a few minutes, it would have made the evening even better if we didn't have to pack up so quickly after the reception was over. Other than that- everything was great! I would highly recommend The Grand Event Center for a full-package wedding venue! Thank you for making our wedding so special!

As a matter of fact, I am still hearing the rave reviews. Everyone was accommodating, friendly, and helpful. I contacted Caroline often with questions and she answered promptly and courteously every time. I would HIGHLY recommend this for your next event, but especially wedding receptions because the rooms are just a hallway away. LOVED IT!! THANK YOU!!!

They accommodated my Youngstown cookie table, Italian food requests, and family wanting to help through the set up process. Our guests could not stop talking about how great the service and food was! And my husband and I both appreciated that staff frequently checked in with us to make sure we ate and had a drink if needed. a wedding and really acted as a day of planner for us which you won’t get at other venues. We had a timeline for the day and she made sure we were where we needed to be. She also ran our rehearsal for us which was super helpful! All of the decor I brought in was set up exactly the way I wanted. I also had a donut/mini cupcake table that I wanted set up a certain way and the event center executed my vision for that table perfectly. Along with all of the that, Carolyn also was very personable with us and brought us each a gift during the day and had sweets left for us in our room at the end of the night. Overall this venue is perfect for a ceremony and reception and not to mention it’s connected to a Marriott hotel so it’s super convenient for your guests. The hotel was amazing as well for us and our guests. Highly recommend this venue!!

Luckily, we had great weather for our wedding and guests were able to enjoy the patio during our cocktail hour and during the wedding. We also received a number of compliments for how convenient it was to have the hotel attached to the venue, since most were out of town guests. We worked with Caroline and she was great to work with! She was very responsive, made everything easy to understand, she provided wonderful guidance when asked, and was awesome in ensuring all our logistics ran smoothly. I highly recommend The Grand!
