Holly was wonderful, listening to exactly what I was looking for, and got my dress on the first try. I'm so incredibly lucky with it, and I couldn't love it more!
I couldn’t have dreamed of an easier experience than I got with the Green Bride. They made buying a dress so easy, especially for someone who had no idea where to start. Would recommend to anyone!
We had a fantastic personalized and relaxed experience. Best part is that you are the only bride in the store during your appointment. They are very professional and listen to what you have to say! This is where I said “yes, to the dress!” I just wish they had a cute sign!
I had a wonderful experience buying my wedding dress and veil from the Green Bride! Highly experienced, kind, and helpful, the store owner found me the most beautiful consigned dress within my budget. They have both consigned and new and a variety to choose from. Highly recommend checking it out!
The store charges a $50 cancellation fee for all appointments cancelled within a 24-hour window--regardless of when the appointment is made and any surrounding circumstances.
After not finding a dress at a different store, I made an appointment for 2 hours later at The Green Bride via their website. In the interim, we stopped at a different store and the bride found her dress. I called The Green Bride and left them a voicemail (no answer) to let them know and ask if we still needed to go to the appointment. I did not get an answer back until after the appointment.
I received an email letting me know that the cancellation fee had been charged, so I left another voicemail asking about my options. I finally received a call back 2 hours after my first voicemail. The employee said I should've called them before buying the bride's dream dress (I did, no answer!) because they would've covered the cancellation fee for the other boutique (there wasn't one).
They would not cancel the fee and told me that I should ask the other boutique to cover it. I absolutely cannot recommend this store. I understand charging fees to prevent sudden cancellations and spam appointments; however, human flexibility is also needed, especially when the fee is $50!
Terrible experience. I bought a dress and I was told 2 weeks later the shipping was pushed back to a date very close to my wedding date. I tried to call the owner who I bought it from for a refund and I was ignored for numerous days. Deedee the front office woman is very cold and rude to speak with. I would not suggest going to this bridal shop. Don’t waste your time.
Had an absolutely wonderful experience here! They communicate well and the scheduling during Covid was so easy. As well they listen to what you like and give you options based off of that! They nailed it and helped me find my dream dress!!! I loved my experience here!
I highly recommend Green Bride and ask for Dee! She was beyond amazing and helpful. She is very welcoming and works with your budget. It was my first time experiencing shopping for a wedding dress and after 6 different places Green Bride over did every single place. We found the dress and she helped us celebrate with Champaign and awesome pictures. It was a beautiful experience. You know it’s the dress when tears are shed!
The is an AMAZING place to find a wedding dress in budget. I went to 6 places total in one weekend looking for a unique wedding dress and wanting to shed tears. The Green Bride gave this to me and made me feel special! Dee is soooooo wonderful and helpful! This was my last stop for the weekend and I found the dress for me! We celebrated with Champaign and took some fun pictures.
The Green Bride was a good experience. Although I think overall it lacked the excitement that a lot of other salons had that made the experience magical and fun, I did find my perfect dress here. They offered flexible pricing and I loved that part of the proceeds went towards Extended Hands of Hope.
I wish I could rate them higher! Holly is a SAINT! She single handedly made my wedding dress dreams come true! Booking online was a breeze, she confirmed my appointment and had me send her my inspiration pictures before hand and had dresses picked out and in a dressing room for me when we arrived! She was totally flexible when (after trying on dresses at other stores that morning) I changed which silhouette I was looking for! We were allowed to bring our own champagne (which we desperately needed after our other appointments. She let us put a dress on hold so I could sleep on it and took my credit card over the phone the next day.
The garment bag was very cute and they even gave me a list of recommended companies for alterations . 10/10
Wish I could give 0 stars. The Green Bride Is horrible. The people here do not care about their customers and only cares about making money. They recommended a seamstress that completely ruined my wedding dress to the point that it was unwearable a month before my wedding. Not only was there emotional suffering (sounds kind of ridiculous, but come on ladies we all know what it’s like to find “the dress” a whole year before your wedding — well imagine it getting completely ruined with only a few weeks to spare) but the financial stress was horrible!!! The Green Bride has refused to refund my money despite that THEY recommended a person who completely destroyed a $1600 wedding dress. I also then spent another $1200 (between a new dress off the rack and also on getting it altered in 72 hours before leaving for Oregon) this place and these people suck. They do not care about their customers and only care about making money. Do NOT go here.
There reason for denying the refund is that I let too much time pass between the incident and requesting a refund. Why did I let too much time pass? Because my husband is military and we’ve had to move a million times — then my father and grandma both have passed away in the last 6 months and I have had to work my butt off to try to settle the estate. Seriously — just don’t go here.
You will not be disappointed with The Green Bride! A great selection and a staff that will make you feel loved and beautiful!
The stylists at The Green Bride were great. They asked me my vision and pulled me the perfect dress. They really listened and were able to stay within my budget. Also I really appreciated their help with understanding what alterations I may need. I highly recommend checking out The Green Bride when shopping for a dress.
This store was wonderful, clean, affordable, and everyone was so kind! Would definitely recommend to any bride!
The staff at The Green Bride were very accommodating. Dress selection was great and I found the dress that I was looking for here at half of the cost.
This is such a wonderful boutique to find your dream dress! I had been to one other shop before going to The Green Bride where I had found a dress that I really liked. After showing Holly pictures of that dress she immediately pulled numerous dresses that were similar for me to try on, but at much better prices! She was so helpful and sweet while trying dresses on. She really knew what dresses would look good on me, and which would not. I ended up finding a stunning DREAM dress with The Green Bride!! I couldn't be happier!! She even helped me add on an accessory that will make the dress even more perfect! Definitely go to The Green Bride for your wedding dress!
I had so much fun trying on dresses at the green bride! Great selection, and everyone was helpful and friendly.
I personally detested this vendor. I specifically requested no strapless dresses since they just don't work for me at all, yet the lady kept bringing me strapless dresses. When I didn't like how they fit me, she brought out some pieces of lace and claimed their seamstress could sew on some straps. Granted they had a very small selection of dresses with straps. Also the dresses I saw at the time looked to be in pretty poor shape, some appeared to be a bit dirty and some were torn.
This company is extremely desperate for sales and it shows. They try to guilt trip you into buying dresses from them by claiming they donate money to charities. While that's very generous I don't like all the pressure to purchase something. Also the woman I dealt with had a poor attitude and basically insinuated that I needed to lose weight. If that's your strategy to get a customer I can't imagine you're a very successful bridal company.
I got the dress of my dreams for $300! Small salon with great service and a huge selection. I tried on a variety of stuff, and staff helped me find the dress I wanted based on my feedback. I got tons of compliments on the dress!
The service at the Green Bride I received was amazing. I never felt pressured or uncomfortable with the staff, and they were very inviting with my family. I found the most amazing dress, (that I would have never picked for myself), and I cannot wait to show it off at our wedding!!
After trying on over 50 dresses, I stopped into this little shop. Some of their dresses are used, but others are brand new sample dresses direct from the designers. I found quite a few in my size and style to try on and when I put on THE dress, I didn't want to take it off. DeeDee was very patient with me and very helpful, especially with the dress accessories they sell in their shop. She allowed us to put the dress on hold, go to one last dress shop to make sure it was "the one". After we came back, we got to take it home that day! So much better than having to get it shipped in your size which could take months. The dress was perfect, so I will only have to get minimal alterations done (which they do at the shop). I will definitely tell my friends to come here!
I wasn't looking at spending a ton of money on my wedding dress, so when we found the Green Bride, we thought it would be worth checking out. We were so pleasantly surprised by how nice and helpful the staff was. I bought the first dress I tried on, and they provided alterations in the store. It was a great price and a very good variety of styles to choose from. Loved my experience there.
I loved my wedding dress! It was fabulous, everyone at my wedding loved it too. It was comfortable, and one of a kind. I altered the bottom of it, which was tulle. I had a zipper put in where the tulle started, that way I could zip off the tulle and have a shortened version of my dress for the reception, which was a big hit. The dress was a fit and flare, corset, which I def. recommend because you don't have to get it altered to fit you. I just took off a little off the length. The alterations were about $100, I used their seamstress. They have a great variety, of new dresses, there may have been some used ones. The shop is pretty small, and there was another bride trying on dresses at the same time as me, so if you can I would try to reserve it at a time when you're the only one their since it's so small, and they only have one mirror. The owner's (mom and daughter) were very nice and welcoming. The best part about this purchase, is that part of the proceeds go to a charity that helps free girls from sex-trafficking.
They were a breath of fresh air. I was treated poorly at other shops at town because I didn't want to spend more than $1500 and they were so nice. The dresses were displayed beautifully and they helped me try them on. My friend found "the one" and it fit me perfectly and I didn't need to alter it. It was a used dress but had been cleaned and you could not tell it had been used before. It was a very, beautiful and elegant designer dress for a fraction of the price of what I would find at other shops. And to celebrate they gave me the best bottle of champagne I have had in my life. To this day we still talk about that champagne and we keep trying to find it in liquor stores.
I loved the dress I found at the Green Bride and it fit just right in my budget. The seamstress they recommend (Wanda) was wonderful! Don't let the staff scare you away if they're condescending. Make an appt, take family or friends and have fun.
This is a no-nonsense kind of bridal shop. I really liked the variety of options, and the owner made me comfortable by giving me honest opinions about styles & cuts for my body type. I was able to find a great dress for a good price.
Even though its a consignment store, I had a brand new designer dress that was never worn. I fell in love with it! Service was alright. Seemed like we were getting pushed out and being told not to try on dresses, which was frustrating. Started out great. but in the end i got the dress i wanted!
I got my dress here after randomly walking into the store. Loved it and it was within my budget too
When I walked in to the Green Bride, I wasn't entirely sure what I was looking for. They were so helpful and picked out 4 dresses in my size. I tried them on and absolutely loved the dress I ended up buying. The dress I bought, was not at all what I thought I would wear, but it was beautiful. I wasn't sure that day if I wanted to buy it or not, but they told me that they would hold it for me. I went home, talked with my dad and he loved it too, so I went back with my mom and my soon-to-be mother-in-law and bought it. I loved the dress and received so many compliments for it!!
I loved my wedding dress that I got at Green Bride. It was a great price and supported a great cause. We had only two small problems with them, keeping my review at 4 starts.
1) The Tailor was very pricey. My dress needed very few, very slight alterations, but the total price of alterations came to 40% of the price of the gown. I was surprised and a little frustrated.
2) When I bought my dress in March 2012, they were also providing tuxes through Jim's Formal Wear for the groom and groomsmen. After we did the fitting and chose our style, my groom called back to confirm the styles. After playing phone tag for close to three weeks, they informed us that they were no longer offering tuxes at all. They never informed us of this change after we were counting on them. We had to scramble a bit to find other suits, which was frustrating. But it all worked out in the end.
In summary, if you are looking for a nice dress at a nice price and interested in the social return - definitely check out Green Bride.
I love the Green Bride! They are so friendly and helpful! Plus I absolutely loved my dress, it truly was my dream dress! They make you feel like you matter and finding the perfect dress for you is their top priority!
The staff at The Green Bride are very friendly and extremely helpful. This is a great place to buy a gown when you don't have much time and are on a budget. You can take the gown home the same day. They are very reasonable with their prices. I was able to buy my gown, headpiece, and veil all under a $1,000.
My mother flew out from MD to go dress shopping with me, and my friend drove up from Colorado Springs. This store was terrible. I specifically went there because the person I spoke to on the phone said they had the Moonlight Tango line. Well, they had Moonlight, but not the more casual "Tango" line that I admired online - only poofy, huge, expensive dresses. The salesperson asked me what I was looking for, I told her, and then promptly ignored everything I said, and brought me stuff that was not my style whatsoever. I felt obligated to try SOMETHING on, so I picked 2 dresses out and went into the dressing room. She then berated me for going into the dressing room by myself (without her), claiming that it "could be dangerous" for me to try on a dress by myself. Are you kidding me? I always tried on simple dresses, and every other store respected my wish to dress myself if I asked to. Just bizarre.
I did not like this shop at all.
I thought the selection of dresses was terrible. They had cheap dresses, for sure, but they were very 1980's style, or ugly. It seemed like a place you would go to get a dress for Halloween or something. Some of the dresses were really dirty. They did have a few modern style dresses but they were $2500+ and nothing special. I didn't like the fact that the shop was so tiny and so packed with dresses. It was hard to shop. I thought the sales lady was very pushy. She told me several times that I was probably too big for the dresses (I'm a size 12-14). That wasn't encouraging as a bride. I didn't like it -if you want a 80s theme wedding, than maybe you find a dress!
We stopped at The Green Bride just to see what they had as the dresses and accessories in the front window caught my eye. As soon as we walked in, the lady seemed disappointed that we did not have an appointment but still showed us around and explained their store set up. The lady that helped us was the owner's mother, I believe. I told her that I had been looking at size 14 dresses and she quickly told me that they wouldn't have any size 14 dresses that would fit my shape. I kind of understand this as they only have the dresses that they have and they can't order different sizes but I still found it unprofessional. I found a dress that I had really liked in a size 14 but she told me that it wouldn't fit me and DIDN'T EVEN LET ME TRY IT ON!!! She decided to pull dresses that she thought I would look good in and when I saw her choices I wanted to die. I felt too bad just declining and leaving the store right away, so I tried them on (with her inside of a brightly-lit room!) and walked out to show my family. The dresses were so matronly and unflattering! Ahhhh! I think it's worth a shot to take a look inside the store if you can fit into the average 2-12 sizes or call ahead to see if they have anything you might be looking for. The accessories might also be worth a shot. I think I just got the wrong person to help me out at this place!
I'm not quite sure what to say about this place. I don't want to say anything bad about it - the owner wasn't mean, it wasn't a rip off, it wasn't dirty... it was just very strange. The dresses were relatively older styles - a lot of long sleeves and lace, lots of gold and pinkish colors. We were asked to take off our shoes at the front door and walk around in our socks. The woman running the shop was hard to read and gave off a judgemental air. The worst part was that she made my mother sit in the front room while she herself went into the changing room with me - I had no choice in this. It was super awkward. And the dresses I tried on were not attractive at all, though the woman said they were great, which made it more awkward. In short, I was glad to politely escape from there and had no intention of going back. Perhaps if you like older styles and what I suppose could also be called old-fashioned "proper" service, then you may feel at home there. For the rest of us, we will shake it off and move on to someplace more comfortable.
As the title says, I loved my dress/veil; but had a disastrous experience with the service.
I refuse to let the experience of buying the dress with my parents be diminished by the horrible experience after the fact. I am very grateful I was able to take my dress home the day I purchased it because it took over four months for the veil to come in after one failed attempt (wrong order by the store). No one contacted me throughout the process, but rather I had to keep following up with them.
SO DISAPPOINTING! :(
These are great people. The service is great and the selection is wonderful. There is also the benefit of knowing that part of the profits go to a great cause AND there is a benefit to the environment.
I loved that I found my dress at the Green Bride. I wanted a wedding dress but having a new one to use for only one day seems silly to me. I found a great dress at the Green Bride but it did take a lot of looking to find the right one. The store clerks were nice but they did make it clear that I was trying on too many dresses.
I really didn't know what I was looking for and my mom had a whole different idea of what I should wear. I did find a dress that was clearly what I thought I wanted, but then I tried on something completely different that I loved. My suggestion would be to have a good idea of what you want before you shop there and know that you will be spending about $400 more to get the dress cleaned ($150 and I shopped around for that price) and fitted ($330). Also you will have to fight with the dry cleaner to get the dress cleaned before you get it altered.
I was window shopping and saw my dress 8 months before my wedding. I went into the shop and pulled 5 dresses. I discribed the dress I saw in the window and Holly pulled it. It not only fit like a glove, but it was in my price range! I felt gorgeous in this dress. Holly didn't mind that I stood in the mirror for about 15 minutes just touching and swishing in my dress. I recomend The Green Bride for anyone who is looking for a beautiful, unique, and cost-effectiv dress! Thank you so much Holly!!!
I wanted a beautiful and stunning dress for my wedding, but I didn't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money, and I found an amazing dress at the Green Bride. Most of what they sell are sample dresses, but they also sell dresses from brides. They have a huge selection of dresses. Hollie worked as a buyer in the industry for years, and you can tell she is very knowledgeable about bridal dresses and quality
Note: Even if you don't buy your dress here, it is a great place for accessories. I bought a cathedral-length veil with ribbon trim for ~$100. Another tip: It is also a great place to use for having your dress cleaned after you wear it! Better prices than you'll find anywhere on your own.
The Green Bride was the first bridal shop I went to in search of a dress - and it ended up being the only one. I thought I would be intimidated by the idea of trying on dresses, but we dove right in with a few initial options and hit the ground running. The woman I worked with was so helpful and helped me narrow down the styles very quickly. Within an hour, I had picked my favorite dress - with a beautiful pearl and crystal beaded bodice and a simple A-line skirt with a train - on sale for only... $50. That's right, $50. Despite being a consignment dress, it looked brand new, and everyone was shocked that it could have possibly cost as little as it did. I would highly recommend at least checking this place out if you're on a budget!
I would very much recommend the Green Bride for their company mission (they donate some of their proceeds to charity), price, and selection. I would forewarn anybody, though, to make sure to wear the appropriate under-clothing (Spanx and strapless bra) - that was the only thing I would have done differently to make the experience more comfortable.
I couldn't believe I found a dress that I fell in love with for only 100 dollars. The owner was so helpful and there was no pressure at all to purchase anything. I also love that 10% is donated to charity. If you love thrifting and hunting for magic this place is for you! I look at my pictures from my wedding and I don't regret anything about my dress. I love it!
i loved this shop! it was such a great experience compared to the big dress shops i went to, and their selection was different and varied. i was able to find something vintage looking.
