I can’t say enough good things about the Guild. From day one, their team was so easy to work with. Chelsea is AMAZING and answers every email within a day and in detail! She was an amazing resource, recommended vendors, and gave her honest opinions about ideas. She is a true professional! our wedding day went by without any hiccups. We got endless compliments about how stunning the venue is. It was honestly breathtaking! The staff went above and beyond and made sure everything looked beautiful, as well as everything ran according to plan. If you are engaged and looking for a venue, truly look no further! I’d choose The Guild again and again!
The Guild KC was the perfect wedding venue! Chelsea and the rest of the team were so easy to work with, responding quickly and effectively and making the planning process so smooth. The venue is gorgeous and had plenty of space. We were also very impressed with the transparency of their pricing- everything was included in the price they gave us, which was definitely not the case with other venues we looked at.
Attended two weddings this summer at the guild. My fiancé and I were considering it as a venue for our wedding next year but have mixed feelings about it now. Both of my friends that had their weddings here paid for the premium bar package. First wedding we attended was in early summer. The bar lines were slow that night because it seemed like only one bartender knew how to make espresso martinis. Thought maybe they had an off night and still had a fun time. Had another wedding there just a couple weeks ago. The bar was busy but anytime we asked for anything other than tequila soda they had to look the cocktail up. Staff was friendly but when the bartender didn’t know how to make a manhattan unless it had four roses we gave up and left for the after party. Maybe the place is going through some changes. The weddings we attended last year here were great.
My daughter was married at The Guild on 7/27/24. There were COUNTLESS compliments from our guest about how “beautiful” and “Breathtaking” the venue was! The staff walked us through the process and was always quick to respond when we had a question. If we had to do it all over again we would choose The Guild all over again.
You could not choose a better space to host your wedding or event. The space alone speaks for itself with such a beautiful romantic industrial feel. Chelsea the venue manager was so amazing at staying in touch with us and just on top of it with every little detail. Daryn, another guild manager was in attendance for our wedding day and was so extremely helpful with making sure everything went smoothly. Our bartenders SHOWED UP and did AMAZING. We loved their presence and they made the most AMAZING beverages. I can’t thank everyone enough at the Guild and I hope I one day get to attend another event in their beautiful space.
The Guild was incredible as a venue and fulfilled everything we dreamed of on our day. Starting with the ceremony space which was beautiful and a great outdoor space. The reception space fit everyone comfortably and the dancefloor under the chandelier was stunning.
A significant aspect in this venue was the staff. Chelsea was on top of it from our first meeting years ago until the big day. Working with her was incredible. She handed off the Darren for the day of and he did a great job as well. What can't be understated in this venue are the bartenders, they are real bartenders that know much more than how to mix a whiskey and coke or vodka and soda. Their bar gives them access to bottles outside of the standard 6-7 bottles at a venue and lets these bartenders shine and show their talent. Our guests very much appreciated this differentiator to other wedding venues they have been at. Make sure to get the top alcohol package if that is an option for your budget. You won't regret it.
Thank you to the Guild staff for making our day perfect!
The Guild is the absolute BEST there is! From the experienced staff, large indoor/outdoor space, immaculate bar, and affordable cost, the opportunities are truly endless! Weddings are expensive, but you cannot find a better value for the cost anywhere downtown/crossroads KC. It is not only the space you are paying for, it is the years of experience and relationships the staff have with other vendors as well. Chelsea is so nice and makes every couple feel so special! Her communication is quick and effective, and she will not leave anything to question when it comes to the biggest day of her couples lives! Darren made sure that everything went off without a hiccup on our big day and we are so thankful for him! It seems like everyone who works in events/wedding knows these two and they all speak so highly of them! It's definitely for a reason! We are so so very thankful for the Guild and all its staff, and would not hesitate on recommending anyone to them! Thank you guys so much for playing such a big part in the best day of our lives!!!!
My husband and I had our wedding ceremony and reception at The Guild in October 2023, and had such an amazing experience! Chelsea, Amy and Darren are experts, having answers to every question and solutions to every problem. The entire planning process was organized and communication between us and the team was efficient and always so helpful.
The plan was to have our ceremony outside in the garden, but being that our wedding was late Fall, we knew weather could be questionable. We were able to truly make a game time decision, giving us until the day of to make the call to get married inside or outside. This was so appreciated and resulted in us being able to get married outside as we had hoped!
The bartenders were on top of service, and everyone raved about how delicious our signature cocktail (a spicy margarita) was. Photos and videos with the chandelier are everything we had hoped for. We are so happy that we got married at The Guild and absolutely recommend it to others!
My husband and I decided to have our wedding at The Guild and we are so glad we did! We were looking for a venue that could fit around 210 guests. Our wedding ended up being around 175 guests and the room actually felt perfect at that number - not too full, not too empty.
We also wanted a venue that we could have our ceremony and reception in the same place, but separate rooms so we didn’t have to do a room flip and in the scenario that it rained, we could decide last minute to do the ceremony inside. This most definitely paid off - it did end up raining the day of the wedding. My DOC made the decision to keep the wedding outside with the expectation that it was supposed to clear up by the time of the ceremony. Long story short, it didn’t and it started raining harder. Extremely last minute, all of my vendors worked together to flip the room in quite literally 15 minutes. Not the most ideal situation, but we had guests sit at their tables during the ceremony and set up a few rows for immediate family and the wedding party to sit under the chandelier. We got married right in front of our head table and it was STUNNING!
Again, not the most ideal set up, but most venues would not have been flexible and would have kept the ceremony outside. We’re so so grateful that they allowed us to do this and it still looked absolutely beautiful!
Another big reason we went with this venue is because of the bar package. When our families get together they like to drink and party so we came in prepared to spend a lot on this with an open bar. We spent more on the venue itself, but it paid off knowing how great their pricing is for the bar package.
They also allow open flame candles as long as their is something underneath to catch the wax. This was one of the only venues I could find that allowed this and it made a huge difference for us!
We got SO many compliments on how beautiful the venue was and how grand the chandelier was. We worked with Amy throughout a majority of our wedding planning process and she was super responsive answering any questions that we had! If we had to do it all over again, we would go with The Guild again in a heart beat!
After touring The Guild with Chelsea we knew it was the perfect place for our wedding. She was so organized and made us feel at ease. Everyone at the venue on the day of was helpful and the day ran so smooth. The venue itself is absolutely stunning and the garden is the perfect place for a ceremony. We could not recommend them more!
When searching for venues for my wedding I had several things in mind: price, location, aesthetic, staff, and reliability. The Guild hit all of those points and more. From the first time I spoke with the venue coordinator (Chelsea & later Amy) I knew this was the place. After hearing some horror stories from past prides at other venues, I wanted a place and a team that I could rely on. The Guild had so many positive, amazing reviews, and now I’m happy to say that mine is one of those now! My questions were always answered in a very timely manner (and I had MANY of them), my needs always met, and my overall experience a total dream. I was ELATED to hear when Paradise opened their space for small ceremonies, and the Guild was kind enough to let me be the first to get married there, and helped me throughout the entire process. I can’t say thank you enough to Amy, Chelsea, and the entire staff at the Guild that helped make my dream wedding possible. You met my expectations and then said “I can top that”. The only detail I didn’t think through was the amount of bridesmaids I jammed into that bridal suite. I had 6 bridesmaids, myself, and a flower girl hanging out in there and it got a little stuffy. But that was my fault for not thinking that one through. Otherwise,12/10 would recommend getting married here. You won’t regret it.
We loved having our wedding at the Guild KC and we can't recommend it enough to other couples looking for a venue in Kansas City. The staff there was so friendly, professional, and transparent with everything. Any e-mails we sent to the staff were responded to within 24 hours. Of the other venues that I looked at it in Kansas City, The Guild KC felt unbeatable for many reasons: price, aesthetic, customer service, etc.
The building and ceremony area was so beautiful; the interior is designed to combine the old with the new (brick walls on one side, clean/beautiful tile on the other). Of course I can't write a review without mentioning how STUNNING the chandelier is. Would 100% recommend to any couples looking for a venue - you can't go wrong with The Guild KC!
From the beginning everyone at the Guild was so welcoming and communicative. Throughout the planning process they gave us a ton of helpful recommendations and advice and actually helped us find many of our vendors. The space itself is gorgeous and we received so many compliments from our guests, but it truly is the staff that makes this place an incredible venue. Everyone from the coordinators to the bartenders did a wonderful job and made our day so special. I would recommend the Guild to absolutely anyone.
I would make the choice to have our wedding at The Guild over and over again! My husband and I toured countless venues for our July 2023 wedding, and we immediately knew after touring The Guild that we had found our place. This venue is magical and rises above the rest for so many reasons. The ballroom (complete with exposed brick and stunning chandelier) paired with the one of a kind outdoor garden are the perfect backdrop for an elegant, urban wedding, and there is plenty of space for you to have your entire wedding (ceremony, cocktail hour, reception) in one place. The location in the heart of the Crossroads is perfect, and their partnership with Paradise Garden Club also allows the option to take family portraits in a beautiful, natural setting.
Chelsea and her team were the absolute pinnacle of professionalism - they were flexible, kind, communicative, and always made me feel at ease and like our event was a priority for them. These are truly the pros. Every time we told one of our vendors that we had chosen The Guild, they responded with "That's my favorite venue in KC." I think this is incredibly telling - not only are clients thrilled with their experience, but professionals in the industry want to come back here over and over again. Our guests repeatedly told us the ours was one of the best weddings they'd ever been to, and I credit this in large part to The Guild.
Book your wedding here. There is nothing else in KC like it, let alone for the price point. Our wedding was the best day of my life, and I couldn't be happier with our experience at The Guild.
I am SO HAPPY about our decision to have our wedding at The Guild! Our initial visit to The Guild in March 2022 left a lasting impression, and without a doubt, we knew it was the ideal venue for our big day. The sheer magnificence of the venue made securing our desired wedding date in October 2023 a bit challenging. Thus, my advice is to contact The Guild well in advance if you're interested in having an event there, especially if you have a specific date in mind.
Our ceremony was in the beautiful garden outback, while the reception was indoors. One of our prime concerns was the potential bottleneck at the bars, as it was something we had experienced at weddings similar to ours at other venues. However, during our cocktail hour/reception, there wasn't a single instance where our guests waited in line or struggled to get a drink. The service flowed seamlessly, exceeding all expectations.
I must also emphasize the impeccable coordination orchestrated by Chelsea. Her responsiveness is unparalleled—never once did a response take more than 24 hours, often hearing back within the same day. Her guidance equipped me with all the necessary details, playing a pivotal role in orchestrating an event that was flawless!
The Guild operates like a finely tuned engine, adept at crafting an extraordinary wedding experience. I genuinely can't envision a more fitting location for our wedding. It was absolutely perfect!
I can't say enough good things about The Guild. Amy, Chelsea, and Darren were amazing to work with. From the first visit we knew that this was the group we wanted to work with. They are so accommodating and easy to work with. The space just lends itself to the perfect party space with the amazing bar and beautiful chandelier. We chose to have Garozzo's do the catering and the set up for the buffet was just perfect. I'm not sure I've ever worked with a group that was so helpful every step of the way. The Guild is THE BEST!!
The Guild is hands down the best wedding venue out there! Amy, Chelsea, and Darren were the absolute dream team from booking the venue to helping out with everything in between. The space was absolutely beautiful and the way that the lighting and chandelier give such a beautiful ambience makes you feel like your in a vibey, speak easy. If I had to do it all again, I would pick the Guild again hands down!
The Guild was the PERFECT venue for our urban/ downtown KC wedding dreams. Not only is it stunning but it has everything you need to have your entire wedding in one place. Their outdoor garden was beautiful for our ceremony, the lobby was spacious but cozy for our cocktail hour, and the main room was grand and elegant for our reception. The staff was so sweet and accommodating throughout the entire planning process. On the day of, they made sure our day was as perfect as we imagined. We cannot recommend this venue enough!
The Guild is the best wedding reception venue in downtown Kansas City. No, but seriously - we researched & toured a LOT of venues. For the price, you won’t find anything like it in downtown Kansas City. Not only is it a completely stunning, photogenic venue with an outdoor garden space in a fantastic location, but it has unmatched customer service. Chelsea, Darren & the rest of The Guild staff made us feel like VIPs from our venue tour to booking to planning to wedding-day & even after. They were kind, respectful, knowledgeable, responsive & flexible. All of our guests were in awe of the venue and wedding day in general. Many said it was, “one of the best weddings they’ve ever been to,” (and not just to our face).
Book The Guild. You will not regret it.
This was the perfect venue. Everyone we were in contact with were amazingly helpful and ensured everything went smoothly. Would recommend this venue to anyone who will listen!
Our wedding at The Guild was such a vibe! We couldn't have picked a better space to host our friends and family for our wedding day. In addition to the beautiful space, the staff was absolutely incredible. Chelsea was our main point of contact throughout our planning process, and she was always SO helpful and quick to respond. Incredible team, incredible space, incredible experience! - Joe & Les
The Guild was truly the most perfect wedding venue! It is set in a fun, lively space in the Crossroads but has a romantic feel in the secluded garden space. Chelsea, Darren and the entire Guild staff were so attentive and helpful during the planning process and on our big day! Chelsea went above and beyond - from recommending vendors to putting together a champagne welcome tower for our guests - she was so much fun to work with and quick to respond whenever we had questions leading up to the big day. We absolutely recommend the Guild for anyone wanting a beautiful downtown KC wedding!
The moment I got engaged I knew my wedding had to be at The Guild, and The Guild lived up to every one of my expectations. The venue itself is stunning. Of course, the chandelier was breathtaking. The vibe is perfectly elegant and urban at the same time. We had our ceremony in their garden and it was the perfect outdoor setting in the middle of the city, a quiet garden oasis. But not only was the venue stunning, the professionalism of the team who runs The Guild was top-notch. Chelsea was always on top of things and she made all the coordination simple and easy. I could go on and on but if you are thinking of booking The Guild, don't even think twice about it, just do it! You will not be disappointed.
The Guild was seriously our DREAM venue! We honestly only looked at one venue and decided to make it official and book it the next day. We loved everything about the venue from the layout, to the beautiful outdoor area and the design of modern meets old fashioned. The staff, especially Chelsea, was a huge help in the planning process as well as logistics. She helped recommend so many of the vendors we ended up going with, including out planner. Everything turned out absolutely beautiful the night of! I recommend every KC couple chooses this spot for their wedding day!
Look no further because The Guild is your wedding venue!! I cannot imagine having my reception at any other venue. From the staff to the chandelier, every moment of our experience was perfect. Chelsea helped us from the very beginning with providing vendor recommendations, helping create different displays, and communicating constantly with us in a COVID wedding scene. Parking is so easy for it being a downtown venue. And then coolers with our drinks of choice in the bride and groom rooms were a perfect touch! The day of went off without a hitch and they worked hard to even have the garden open despite a rainy morning. You won't find a more beautiful venue in Kansas City!
Beautiful venue! Outside ceremony, cocktail space, and reception venue were perfect for our ~200 guests. Staff day-of were great, and Chelsea was super helpful during planning. 10/10 would recommend.
Beautiful venue with everything you need. It was the perfect atmosphere for our ceremony and reception and communicating with the staff was incredibly easy.
I cannot rave about the Guild enough! This was the best place to get married and I have zero regrets! We wanted an outdoor ceremony and an indoor reception somewhere in the downtown area and the Guild had exactly that. Once we saw the outdoor garden and the beautiful chandelier, we were sold. We visited other venues but nothing compared! They were booking up quickly and we understood why! They were so professional and quick to respond to emails. We liked the layout of the space and the bar options they had. We had about 140 guests and a band and there was plenty of room. Everyone raved about our venue and how beautiful it was. Highly recommend this venue as it was perfect!
The Guild was 100% venue of my DREAMS and Chelsea was the cherry on top. You could not ask for a more helpful venue manager! She was quick to communicate, had expertise ready to share on what has worked in the past or what she would recommend, created mock-ups of our ceremony and reception set-up, answered 900 of my questions - she is truly a star and loves what she does.
The venue is stunning. It was the first one we walked through and I was sold. The bar is gorgeous, there are both bridal and groom suites, a garden space, an indoor cocktail space, and OMG...that chandelier. The floors are a statement and the variety of walls (brick, wood, subway tile, window panes, etc.) give you plenty of indoor space for all kinds of pictures. Oh - and did I mention reserved parking lots and plenty of bathrooms?
If I could do it all again, the only change I would make would be not wasting my time walking through any other venue. Best venue and venue manager in KC - hands down.
The Guild is rated #1 in KC for venues for a reason! Everything was spectacular. I worked with Chelsea throughout the entire planning process and she was fabulous. She paid attention to every detail and was available for questions or changes almost immediately. She responded extremely fast to all my concerns, especially in the 2 weeks leading up to the weddig when we were making changes to the guest numbers, layout and seating chart. I truly was never worried about the execution of our wedding because she was so on top of everything. The Guild itself was a beautiful venue and we fell in love with it immediately. It was the first and only venue we toured and we knew right away it was the one for us. We loved everything about The Guild and would highly recommend it to anyone!
I honestly can not recommend Stephanie and the Guild enough!! Not only is the venue absolutely stunning... let's talk about that chandelier! But they made planning a wedding easy and fun. We got married this past September, but we originally planned for Sept. of 2020. The Guild let us hold another date in 2021 while we waiting it out to see if we could move forward with the 2020 wedding. When we decided to postpone, they made everything so simple and were really there for us every step of the way. Our wedding was everything I had hoped for, everything was on time and so coordinated. Having the bar near the dance floor kept everyone in the same place which allowed us to able and see and talk to every guest. It was the perfect venue for a perfect day!
I cannot say enough good things about the people and the venue! I totally trusted them the day of the wedding to help things run smoothly. Everyone was very understanding with us needing to change our date due to COVID and I am so so happy we were able to have our wedding here.
There is a reason The Guild continues to be voted the best venue in KC. Their knowledge and connections in the area are unmatched. The space is gorgeous and can be transformed into anything you can imagine.
I worked with Chelsea throughout our planning, and she was incredible! Her communication was quick, responsive and clear. Our wedding was delayed two different times, and The Guild was nothing but supportive and helpful in navigating the changes.
We chose The Guild because of the open layout, stunning chandelier and top notch bar selection, but it was Chelsea who really gave us confidence that everything would come together.
The Guild is stunning. A little oasis in the city. I was so impressed with how everything looked. The courtyard was just as beautiful at night as it was during our ceremony. Inside the modern rustic space with the giant chandelier you barely need to add any decorations. We used the many different textures of wall for our wedding party photo shoot. The staff was very professional and helped get us through several covid postponements. Also very helpful with the layout of tables and the day of manager was on site to set up and answer any of our day of questions.
I had my wedding reception at The Guild on 7/30/21 and I couldn’t imagine having it at any other location. There is no question why this venue is the top venue in Kansas City. For starters, we could utilize two rooms so that our guests were able to enjoy cocktail hour and then they could transition to the main space for dinner and dancing. We had a band, DJ, monogramed dance floor, a whiskey tasting, an ice cream truck… just to name a few. The Guild accommodated every single request we made! Stephanie and her team went above and beyond. We couldn't be more satisfied with The Guild!!
The Guild is a stunning event space that we used for both our ceremony and reception. We are a couple that had to postpone due to Covid-19, and Chelsea and the rest of the team at The Guild were so quick to communicate everything on their end. They also were quick to respond to general questions, offered and provided helpful solutions to issues, and were just generally wonderful to work with. I believe Darren was the one present for our big day, and he was so kind and offered help throughout the afternoon and evening. The space is stunning, the bartenders were quick and professional, and I'm still in awe of how well everything went.
The Guild does have a list of food vendors that they allow, but we still felt like we had enough options (and honestly it made making decisions easier). We weren't planning on investing so much of our budget into a venue, but we spent far less time and money supplying endless decorations to make it what we wanted. You can still decorate a lot if you'd like, but the space can also speak for itself. Overall, we couldn't be happier with The Guild KC for our venue.
In December of 2019 when my husband and I got engaged, I knew that The Guild was the place I saw myself saying I do. Saying our vows in the garden and dancing the night away with our friends and family under the chandelier.
It was truly one of the most magical days of my life and I cannot imagine it being anywhere other than The Guild.
There was a chance of rain on our wedding day, but The Guild staff worked with us to ensure that, keeping minute by minute watch on the weather, we could get married in the place we had dreamed of for 18 months.
I know I am biased, but it is truly the best venue to get married at. The garden outside was perfect for guests who didn't want to have the dance party inside. There was enough space for our guests to feel comfortable and not to crammed in. I loved having our photo-booth in the main room, because our guests actually saw it and utilized it. (Unlike some venues that are smaller and cannot fit it in the same room)
The bar staff was top notch and did everything to ensure that our guests were served promptly and had a great time.
I just want to go back and relieve our day over and over again. It was such a special place to become husband and wife!
We recently got married at the Guild and I can honestly say this was one of the best decisions we made for the wedding. It truly set the stage for the entire event. Every time we visited, I got more and more excited to share the beauty of this place with all of our guests. It is the best Kansas City has to offer. Not only is this venue absolutely stunning inside and out, but the staff are also wonderful to work with. We planned our wedding from out of state, and booked the Guild with only my wife having seen the venue in person. Chelsea and Stephanie went above and beyond to answer all of my questions, as well as providing pictures and videos of the space so that I could truly get the feel for it. That chandelier? Even more stunning in person. They were very quick to respond to my emails and did a great job of keeping us in the loop as things changed throughout covid. I would recommend the Guild to everyone, and am happy to say that they are very welcoming to the LGBT+ community, which was so important to my wife and I as we started our lives together.
We started planning our wedding in August of 2018 for June 2020 and then... 'rona happened. Stupid COVID. Unfortunately, we were not able to have our big day at The Guild but I have to rave about their support and customer service all throughout the planning process and especially when the pandemic hit. Stephanie was always quick to answer emails and questions that we had and was incredibly accomodating anytime we had out-of-town guests that wanted to see our venue during the planning process (AKA in-laws and wedding party). I cannot thank her enough for all her help! When COVID hit, Stephanie was great about keeping in touch as the situation evolved and when it became apparent that they were not able to host the event that we had planned (because of restrictions), they refunded the deposit we had made with them. I know that this time was incredibly stressful for all, including small businesses and ESPECIALLY those in the events industry, so I cannot express my gratitude enough for their flexibility. I cannot say the same about all my vendors, even though the government was restricting events during our scheduled wedding date. So although we weren't ever able to have an event at The Guild, I would still highly recommend them! They have an absoutely stunning space and they will provide you exceptional customer service.
Gorgeous venue in the Crossroads district of KC. The staff was very helpful and professional. Only thing we didn't like was having to pick a caterer from their list of 7 or 8.
The Guild was the absolute perfect wedding venue. Their staff alone are absolutely amazing. Their communication and up-to-date emails regarding our wedding and COVID-19 were incredible. Planning a wedding during these crazy times is extremely stressful, and their staff made sure to continuously update us regarding the new restrictions in place. We held our wedding at the end of August, and at that time the 50% capacity restriction had been lifted, but they were doing their part to maintain safety by taking everyone's temperatures before the event and had hand sanitizer on the walls. I was hesitant on the downtown parking especially with having a wedding on a Friday night during rush hour, but they have 3 private lots, signs posted, and security making sure other people don't park there. We heard no issues from our guests regarding parking! We were able to use the outdoor space for our ceremony and the transition into cocktail hour and the reception was flawless. I cannot say enough great things about The Guild!! During our wedding and after we heard non-stop great things about how amazing the venue was. Thank you to The Guild KC for hosting our wedding! I cannot imagine how hard it is to run a wedding venue during these times, but they did a fabulous job and I would recommend them to anyone.
We hosted our daughters wedding at The Guild in August & it did not disappoint. The venue is absolutely beautiful & has so much to offer. We were able to use all three of the venue spaces & it flowed perfectly. I cannot say enough good things about the staff at The Guild. They were always very helpful & kind, extremely organized, and quick to respond to any questions we had. The day went perfectly & was everything we hoped for.
COVID threw us a lot of curve balls! Stephanie was so kind and helpful. We ended up not needing the reception space and they were super accommodating and you could tell they just wanted us to have the best day ever and amended our contract to still use the outdoor space for our ceremony.
The Guild exceeded our expectations! Stephanie, Chelsea and Darren provided the quality customer service we were looking for when venue shopping. All the communication leading up to our wedding was clear and the night was indeed flawless. The bartenders were excellent and we kept receiving compliments all night about how good the drinks were in addition to how beautiful the venue looked. If you're looking for a wedding venue that has great parking, close to the city/hotels, competitively priced, logistically designed for a successful dance party and fits 200+ guests, then The Guild is it!
I would be very careful signing an agreement with Stephanie at The Guild. My daughter was scheduled to have a wedding there in late June 2020. It soon became clear to me that in my opinion there was no way to safely hold and event with over 150 people in June. Especially with so many people coming from hotspots like New York City and Seattle. My opinion is based on working in health care for over 26 years and currently working on the front lines of the Covid 19 crisis. We contacted the Guild with our concerns and they offered to book a later date. The catch was you had to book by March of 2021 and it had to be a date that was open. (Mostly just Fridays and Sundays were available at this point). The only way she would return our deposit was if there was a ban in place at the time of our event. As of this writing there is still ban and it looks like there will be. Of course I couldn't wait to see if there was a ban with 150 people coming from out of town. In my opinion it was very unreasonable to ask that we continue to pay money to the Guild to book an event that they can't guarantee will legally happen. In my opinion as an Advanced Practice Nurse I can't understand why a business owner would want to needlessly subject their staff and other vendors to attempt a large gathering of people before we have good treatment options or containment of this virus. Caveat emptor.
The Guild is amazing! Not only the venue itself which is picture perfect and so beautiful but the people that work there and help coordinate everything. It was easy to work with them in person or via email and figure out what was right for us on our big day. We couldn't have been more happy with our wedding here and everything was so perfect. Trust me book the Guild. You won't regret it!
What an amazing day & such a beautiful venue! Unbelievably, the morning started with almost blizzard like conditions. Chelsea Kelly, Manager of The Guild kept everyone calm, made adjustments where needed, & set the stage for an unforgettable day. The venue that evening was truly breathtaking & the service all around was outstanding. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Chelsea extensively as the MOB, as well as the MOG within a six month timeframe. I found her to be wonderful in her role. She was able to pull through the vision of both weddings beautifully, adapt to any changes, and provide valuable guidance & support.
I would highly recommend both The Guild & Chelsea Kelly!
Honestly, my wife and mother in law did most of the planning. What I know is that Stephanie and The Guild were easy to work with and incredible the whole time. We had issues with certain vendors along the way, but The Guild was amazing. My friends, who do enjoy some drinks, rave about the bar service they provided. I’ve never seen a wedding with a better open bar. They made us feel comfortable from the first meeting until our wedding. As a groom, you just want your bride and her mom to be happy, and I know they were thrilled with The Guild. Couldn’t recommend it more.
We cannot say enough great things about The Guild and their staff, just like every review on The Knot because it is absolutely the truth! When shopping for a venue here in KC The Guild was the only venue that had absolutely everything we wanted, 2 bars, outdoor and indoor space, parking, bridal and groom suite, and hello how absolutely stunning the overall venue is. Then you have the great staff, so responsive, fun, and on top of their game. We couldn't have picked a better space and Stephanie is amazing. We had the absolute best day and we will always remember The Guild, you just cannot go wrong with selecting The Guild!!
It's been nearly three months, and we still cannot stop talking about how amazing our wedding was! The Guild made all of our dreams come true on 10/26/19. Stephanie was so great to work with. She was incredibly timely with emails, answered my millions of questions, and made sure everything was planned perfectly. The space itself is better than you could ever imagine. The garden in the back is quiet, beautiful, and the perfect spot to get married. The interior was so beautiful we did not need to add any "decor". All of the staff were so great to all of our guests. No one ever had to wait in line for a drink, and the bartenders were so kind! Overall, we couldn't imagine getting married any where else, and we really want to do it all over again! Our biggest thanks to Stephanie and The Guild! Hopefully we will be back someday to attend a wedding!
The Guild staff is the greatest. So reliable and truly professionals in their industry. They were great listeners, very flexible, and supportive of all of my creative asks. We had a cocktail hour transition into a reception for about 200 guests and everything ran perfectly. There were zero hiccups. The venue is gorgeous and made the perfect setting for our cozy winter wedding. They had twinkle lights hanging over the back courtyard, which we used to get some great photos. They also have two bridal rooms in the back, perfect to store all bridal party items and for any nursing moms. My entire family is so thankful to have had our reception in their hands. Wish we could do it all over again!
Thank you to The Guild KC for the most wonderful wedding experience! We couldn't have asked for a better day and we definitely couldn't have done it without The Guild. Along with the beautiful space, the behind the scenes help ahead of and during the day made all of the difference! The staff was very responsive, executed my plan perfectly and helped with any questions I had along the way.
I highly recommend this venue if you are looking for an all around wonderful / stress free experience.
The Guild is hands down the best venue in Kansas City! The juxtaposition of the brick, subway tile, wooden bar and beautiful chandelier make it absolutely stunning. Steph made every part of the process an absolute breeze and gave great vendor recommendations when we asked for them. We chose them largely in part due to the outdoor garden area which was perfect for our ceremony. It’s such a hidden gem in the heart of downtown! We’re so thankful to the staff (bartenders included) at the Guild for making our wedding absolutely perfect!
I would 100% recommend The Guild KC to anyone getting married or planning a big event. The space is absolutely beautiful both inside and outside, and Stephanie and the rest of The Guild team is a dream to work with! Thank you so much for making my wedding day everything I could’ve ever dreamt of and more!
I wish I could give The Guild more than five stars, it was the absolute perfect place for our wedding in July! Stephanie was helpful, responsive, organized and not only that, she’s fun to work with! We got so many compliments on how beautiful the space is — from the incredible bar to gorgeous chandelier to the outdoor space that my husband and groomsmen enjoyed for a cigar spot — it just doesn’t get any better than The Guild. Everyone working with is that evening was awesome, between Stephanie and her team finalizing every detail to the tentative bartenders having our drinks ready upon arrival! I would recommend The Guild to anyone looking for their wedding venue!
You can stop trying to coordinate schedules to go tour venue after venue. Just schedule one, at The Guild.
Stephanie and the rest of The Guild team are BEYOND anything you could ever dream of for your wedding day. In addition to the entire space being STUNNING, they are competitive with pricing, answer emails ASAP, mix up delicious drinks, and are the most helpful on wedding day! Their staff is kind, helpful, fun, and professional!
We had a high chance of rain during our ceremony all day, but The Guild team let us wait until last minute to decide if we wanted to move our ceremony inside. We ended up having our ceremony in the garden and it was everything dreamed! Knowing we had a rain plan in place weeks before helped sooth any anxiety we might have had that day. The rest of the night was perfect and everyone enjoyed the night!
We also ended up getting almost all of our vendors from their list, and they were all TOP NOTCH.
The Guild is the best.
Oh my gosh I cannot say enough good things about this place!! Not only was Stephanie amazing, responsive and helpful, but the venue was breathtaking. My husband and I went into venue shopping with a checklist of items we wanted: a good bar, exposed brick, space for a big dance floor and our guests and I feel like The Guild blew that checklist out of the water! The bar is TO DIE FOR. With majority of our 220 guests being our college and high school friends we knew we wanted a bar that could satisfy that bunch. I cannot say enough great things about that bar!! The exposed brick was a must, but I didn't realize how much the subway tile would bring me to life! It gave the space an elevated and elegant touch. DO NOT get me started on the chandelier. Oh my gosh, that thing should be a Kansas City landmark. Having our first dance under that chandelier is a memory I will cherish forever. Again, Stephanie couldn't have given us a better experience and the space speaks for itself. Brides, there's a reason this place books so quickly! You'd be crazy to not have your wedding here.
Wow! How do I begin to describe how incredibly awesome Stephanie and her team at The Guild KC are? From the first day we met Stephanie and saw the venue, we knew that this was the perfect place! The venue is absolutely stunning! The beautiful Chandelier is a show stopper along with the exposed brick and subway tile! And let's not forget to mention that the bar is the BEST in Kansas City! We visited many other venues in the KC area and The Guild KC was beyond the best! One of the big reasons why is Stephanie! She made our whole experience easy and stress free! Her knowledge, kindness, communication and patience and relationship with other vendors is like no other! I planned this wedding for my daughter and now son in law long distance from Nashville and not one time did I have any stress about things not getting done, not being communicated! Stephanie and her team are simply the BEST and again, words cannot describe how stunning the venue is! Thank you, Stephanie! We are truly sad it's over!!
We had the perfect wedding reception at The Guild! The whole team was great and on top of everything, we didn't have to worry about a thing the whole time, everything was seamless. Our reception was a blast and that was in part due to the wonderful staff being so pleasant, easy to deal with and there for us every step of the way. I would highly recommend The Guild to anyone!
Wow, I am so happy I had my wedding at the guild. I had my ceremony in the garden area and it was truly magical. Not to mention the space inside with that gorgeous chandelier. The staff at the guild were also so easy to work with and everything was just how I wanted. It all went off without a hitch and I have received SO many compliments on how beautiful the space was.
