The Haley Mansion

ve, the beauty of the grounds and the elegance of the renovated mansion take your breath away. You get the entire mansion for our day, and the outdoor ceremony space was nothing short of magical. The food and drinks were excellent, and so are their linens and cutlery (china). The venue’s communication was very good, and they were willing to accommodate us on certain things after some persistent asking, which we appreciated. Overall, the setting and the atmosphere are undeniably gorgeous and perfect for a wedding. My only complaint about the venue itself is that the outdoor area should be sprayed with bug repellent and there should be large fans placed outside. The outdoor area was swarming with mosquitos and I had welts after the ceremony. That's an easy fix with a spray beforehand. Also, large fans should be placed outside to help with extreme heat. That is my only complaint about the venue itself though, and I feel easy fixes for them to make in the future. Now onto working with the staff. I would give this experience 1 star. It was very exhausting. They nickel-and-dimed us on many small things, often saying “no” without clear explanations beyond “that’s how we do things.” This made the planning process frustrating and, at times, felt like a constant battle. For example, something as simple as folding napkins a certain way was refused, and I was told I could come pick the napkins up early, and fold them myself if I wanted a simple one fold to stick the menus in them. I found this extremely offensive. They are extremely strict on everything including down to how many candles you can have at a table, where you can put signs, no moving any decor of theirs whatsoever and when you can arrive to the mansion. We had to beg to just come in 3 hours early for vendor set up, which made timing difficult, and vendors frustrated. They refuse to rope off the ballroom so there is no room reveal and they were still setting up as guests arrived for the ceremony. One of the biggest disappointments was the service on the wedding day. We were sold the idea that each table would have a dedicated butler and impeccable service, but that was not the case. I, as the bride, didn't get a drink until after I ate my food, and they forgot to include the drink stirrers and toppers we had brought and spent a lot of money on—even after reminders. We also were not allowed to put up our seating chart on the spot we originally chose, despite previously agreeing it could be placed there at the final meeting. Additionally, they did not pack up dessert or any food for my fiancé and me as we had asked, which was disappointing. The timing of the ceremony was thrown off because guests weren’t allowed to be seated until the ceremony started, which cost us money and disrupted the schedule with other vendors. The courses were served very slowly, further impacting the flow and timing of the day, once again costing me more money on extending vendors. In summary, if you want a jaw-dropping, beautiful venue with great food, and don't care about any details, this place is incredible. But be prepared for a challenging experience dealing with management, as it may drain your energy and patience. The gorgeous setting makes up for it — almost.

easy to plan for. Food: insanely good. We had a few dietary restrictions in our reception party and they were great at marking those as different and keeping the same level of quality of all dishes. All the appetizers, mains, and deserts were phenomenal. The bar was great and had a great team as well Space: This building is beautiful. Everyone kept telling us how much they loved the venue and the staff. Team members and service: Eloy was our day of coordinator and blew us away with his professionalism and skill. Everything went so smoothly and wonderfully. We had a number of photos we wanted set up around the mansion. We dropped them off on Thursday and when we came by on Saturday, everything was set up and laid out. I highly recommend this vendor. They were amazing and helped make our wedding truly an event to remember.

ake our day perfect. The property manager (Eloy) was superb. He told us to make the Mansion our home for the night and boy did we enjoy that! While the venue is a little pricey, it comes with everything- linens, china, serve ware, the cake, food, drinks, servers, lighting, ceremony and reception chairs, free parking, late night White Castle, and more. Most other traditional venues we looked at required us to get individual vendors for all of this. The venue is worth it. It’s beautiful and magical. We felt like Gatsby for a night. If I had to do it over again, hands down, it would be at The Haley Mansion!

ould compare. Sandy and Savanah were beyond gracious while working with us, especially considering having to postpone our initial wedding date an entire year due to covid. Day of, our wedding vision came to life and the staff provided one of the most magical experiences our guests are still raving about over a month later. Not to mention the food is phenomenal! As big foodies, we wanted a venue that was a step above your basic venue standard, the mansion exceeded those expectations threefold. Our day at the Haley Mansion was an absolute fairy tale!

wanted it to feel like an outside wedding and the glass conservatory would have made a lovely plan b if necessary but thankfully it wasn’t!), and a fun interior that made you feel like you were in a period romance novel! Every single guest at our wedding commented on how gorgeous this venue was. A lot of them had fun roaming through the mansion. The food was great especially the peppermint ice cream and the staff was excellent! Having heard from many other brides I expected to not have any food during cocktail hour but a server brought a tray out for us to snack on during the photos and the maitre d was always there to refill my drink so I didn’t have to go to the bar. I worked with savanna for the planning and she was an absolute delight to talk to each time. And I cannot thank them enough for their flexibility during the covid pandemic. Our original date was in April of 2020 which did not happen so when we needed to reschedule they gave us a lot of flexibility with our date since we rescheduled over a year out and we’re very generous with our guest count since it was during the vaccine roll out and we had people waiting until the last minute to rsvp and then a few that cancelled after the fact. The only thing I can would recommend is when you are filling out your contract, don’t wait until the tasting to put in your food and drink in. You can probably always negotiate up but we didnt lock in our ideas early so we when the new year rolled around (we had planned our wedding out over a year before we needed to reschedule so this was not due to covid) the prices for everything went up a dollar or two and that adds up.

We had to reschedule our wedding due to Covid and Sandy was so helpful throughout the entire annoying process of having to change dates. Fast forward to the day of and we could not have been more blown away!! The staff made sure all of our decorations and any requests that we had were taken care of. The servers were always on point and never made a guest wait for a drink. And the food was incredible! Who knew a simple dish of chicken, potatoes and veggies could taste so good?! I think we got the most compliments on the food and the staff. Hands down the best day of our lives!

I received so many compliments about the food and service all night, and the days to follow. I do want to mention, that my reception came right before the Covid lockdown, and I was very anxious leading up to my big day, Sandy reassured me that the staff was cleaning and sanitizing throughout the day and night and would be taking extra precautions to ensure my guests safety. All in all it was an amazing place to have my reception, I wish I could do it every weekend!!! Thanks a million to all the staff!

s of the minuscule incentive they provided. We went home and agreed to lower the headcount to lower cost. Our second visit, we planned to further negotiate as we were very close to a comfortable number. From there we learned of a new fee that was never originally mentioned, while being told it was built into the entree cost, it really wasn't. Once our final estimated budget was sent to us, it was almost $3K more than we thought, which it should have been only $600. We were then AGAIN told the estimate was entered incorrectly. That the venue rental fee and ceremony were not added into the total. It is EXTREMELY disheartening to love a venue, but have such distrust in a team that can't even provide a correct budget. Not to mention, they pride themselves on taking care of the process for the bride, but that is wrong. If I have to babysit your team for a correct estimate, what would the wedding look like? In addition, they could have easily helped more with bringing the cost down, of which they chose not to. A venue rental fee BTW is complete BS. That is just another way to obtain more money. As sad as it was, my fiance and I chose not to move forward with them.

ess, the staff were incredibly nice and accommodating. The tasting was COMPLETE perfection and an elegant, upscale experience. The wedding day was hands-down the best thing we could've ever imagined. The staff provided the BEST service for us and all of our guests. The coordinators put up all of our wedding decor EXACTLY how I envisioned. The venue was the most beautiful place I've ever been personally. If you're looking to have your dream wedding, The Haley Mansion is the PERFECT place. LOVE!!!

is absolutely stunning and we loved the feel of the old house paired with a beautiful ballroom. We wanted a unique, vintage, and elegant venue and the Haley Mansion delivers. The biggest struggle I had with them was communication. They do a team-based communication approach, so you have multiple people accessing your files and answering your questions. That can be frustrating, but they did a pretty good job leaving detailed notes in our file. It seems like they have a lot of turnover, because the managers we started working with were not the same ones that ended up helping us on the day-of. They are very focused on doing things their way and they try to shepherd you into specific timelines and table arrangements. That being said, they were willing to work with us on doing some unique things once they understood the full picture and why it was important to us. The food was delicious both at the tasting and on the day-of. We received extremely positive guest comments on the food and every steak came out medium rare. Some people told us it was the best wedding meal they ever had. I liked that many upgrades were included in their base package, so I didn't feel nickeled and dimed throughout the process. They also let us incorporate personal touches like family photos on the mantels around the mansion. Even with the sometimes frustrating communication, I loved working with PHM. They helped us throw an incredible party that we will never forget.

the venue stunningly beautiful from the garden, to the ballroom, to the house itself but the staff is incredible. The staff really sets the place apart from all others. They are essentially your event planners. They contact your vendors, help set up and tear down, and make sure you have everything you need the night of. It was a "dream-like" wedding and the mansion was a huge reason why. If you choose to have your wedding there, you will NOT be dissapointed.

The night of the event, Giovanni and the rest of the staff made sure my husband and I were taken care of and delegated appropriately to the rest of the staff. The food was incredible.. every employee that was there last night to thank them for how much they helped make our wedding spectacular. The reception went off without a hitch. My guests (~230) raved about the decor, the elegance of the mansion, how delicious the food was & the overall service. I worked with Sandy, who was an absolute godsend during the last month before our wedding. She was so quick to respond to questions and the mansion was unbelievably accommodating for us. We dropped off our wedding essentials on Thursday, went through the checklist of what everything was & how it should be used, and everything was set up PERFECTLY for the wedding. I mean down to a T, the details were perfect. I can't thank the staff enough for helping our vision come to life for the reception.

They say you get what you pay for, and for those who are skeptical, it stands absolutely true at the Patrick C. Haley mansion. Poor Eloy did such an amazing job dealing with my crazy self ( Mother of the bride) all night! Thank you Eloy! You will NOT be disappointed for choosing this venue!! You receive your own dog of wedding planner which keeps the wedding and reception flowing smooth and most of all on time! The only downfall is they have a guest minimum - our wedding ended up larger than we had planned since we had to meet their adult minimum. We also had to have the wedding on a Friday vs a Saturday due to The Saturday adult minimum being 250 which 1 we didn’t have that many people to invite and 2 it would have been way out of budget.

As for this venue, we actually had 3 other places in mind to host our wedding, however the minute we stepped in the mansion we knew we had found our place and immediately cancelled our other tours. Their service is impeccable and they try to accommodate every request. The venue is well preserved, it exudes elegance and charm. I absolutely love it and highly recommend it!

They were attentive, supportive, and just overall great people. My guests (all from Chicago / north-suburbs) were in AWE when they saw the mansion, they couldn't believe something this beautiful existed as a wedding venue (thankfully I knew..)! I would recommend The Haley Mansion to any bride - it was one of the best decisions I have made.
