I recently had the pleasure of hosting my wedding at the Havens Country Club, and I cannot express how delighted I am with the entire experience. From the moment we chose this venue, the wedding planning process became a breeze, especially for someone like me who is not DIY-savvy.
The wedding venue itself is a masterpiece, requiring minimal additional decorations. Its inherent beauty is a relief for those who may not be adept at crafting intricate details. The stunning ambiance and picturesque surroundings provided the perfect backdrop for our special day, creating a truly magical atmosphere.
Not to mention, the bridal suite is AMAZING. It is HUGE with all the space, tables, and chairs that you need. Also includes your very own server (shout out to Sue) who serves you food and beverages throughout the day while you get ready.
A significant part of what made our wedding day so memorable was the exceptional staff at the Havens Country Club. They were not only professional but also incredibly helpful and kind. Every detail was taken care of, ensuring that I could focus on enjoying the day without any worries. A special shout-out to Laura, who worked tirelessly with us from the beginning to the end. Her dedication and meticulous planning ensured that our wedding day went off without a hitch. From coordinating vendors to managing the timeline, Laura was on top of everything, and her efforts played a pivotal role in making our day so special.
My only regret is not booking the venue for additional hours because the day just FLEW by.
If you're looking for a wedding venue that is not only visually stunning but also comes with a team of dedicated and caring professionals, the Havens Country Club is the perfect choice. Our experience was nothing short of amazing, and we are grateful to everyone at the Havens for making our wedding day a dream come true.

Thank you Priscilla! It was such a great wedding and we are thrilled to have been apart of it. Best of luck to you both as you start this new chapter.
Where to start on the problems of this venue. the location itself is beautiful which is why we booked here. Ill just list our issues for an easier read.
-we went through 2-3 venue coordinators who took 1-2 weeks to respond to emails or not document our choices to our BEO. communication was horrible
-when scheduling our site walk through they told me they had previously sent me the rental catalog/napkins I wasn't sent any of those so I only got to look at the napkin/table catalog on site that day. the sprinklers went off during the site viewing so we didn't even get a proper walk through.
-on our rehearsal day the venue coordinator was late and her excuse was she couldn't find us, a group of 10-15 people standing outside by the front entrance. She also didn't know the names of the bride and groom. Didn't ask us how we wanted to run our ceremony just did whatever she thought was best.
day of wedding
-we were supposed to have 5 heaters included in our package and 2-3 of them went out in the first 20 mins of our reception when asked if there were replacement tanks my family was told rudely "no, you'll warm up when you start dancing" and they only tanks they had were expired. So they didn't even check to make sure they had the bare minimum of what we paid for.
-we had to pay for a minimum of 100 people but had less than attend with a buffet line, when people asked to go up for seconds they were told no by the venue staff but the venue staff went and made themselves plates of food.
-I was told by our guests that the venue staff were also helping themselves to our hors doeuvres in front of our guests before many got to eat any.
In summary if you want a beautiful expensive venue with poor customer service and poor communication choose this one.
This wedding venue was fantastic. The location was so gorgeous, the staff were amazing, and we had the perfect wedding. Thank you so much, everyone!
Any questions?
I’m 50/50 on Vista Valley. Our wedding day was gorgeous and had minimal hiccups, however the 15 months of planning leading up to the day was a bit of a nightmare. We worked with one horrific planner for about 8-9 months and then when she left we began working with 2 new, amazing planners for the remainder. For the first half we had issue upon issue with their events department. Received dismissive responses, multiple meeting cancellations, and incorrect information galore. They were extremely unorganized until they hired on Morgan and Victoria who were absolutely fabulous. They are seriously the backbone of this department. They were new and it seems communication from higher-ups was minimal so they were only working with what little information they had. They took this failing department and salvaged what they could and seem to have began to turn it around.
On the day of, my husband and I, as well as about 3/4 of our guests, were served cold food. It tasted great, but it was freezing. We upgraded our food selections so all of that money essentially went to waste because it was inedible. At one point the bar was taking around 20-30 minutes to get a drink and when I asked the bartender how we could speed it up, he said “I don’t know, we are out of glasses so..” instead of bussing tables they stood around looking at each other. Sue, the server in the Bridal Suite & Groom’s Library, was phenomenal and kept the wedding party hydrated and fueled for the day!
Overall, If I were to plan our wedding again, I wouldn’t come back here. You pay SO much money to receive subpar service from about 90% of the staff. Planning isn’t a glamorous experience at all, but it could’ve been MUCH better than what we experienced here.

We are sorry about your experience with your initial coordinator; and are glad however, that the changes we made to the department were so positive.
It can be challenging to keep food hot when people are up mingling and at the bar. We are c...
onstantly working on ways to improve this including shutting the bar down for a brief period so we can serve guests.
Thank you for the great comment on Instagram. Your wedding was truly spectacular!
STUNNING! There is no other word for this venue. The moment I saw it in person (this was our first venue btw) I fell in love and knew this was our place. Thankfully my now-husband was just in love with it as I was. Laura was very forthcoming with our quote and explaining all the amenities. We chose an indoor reception, but were allowed to take photos down at the outdoor area. They turned out beautiful! The staff was responsive to our questions, and allowed us to modify our requests several times. The menu tasting was really fun and the food is SO GOOD! Our coordinator resigned a few weeks before our wedding, but the staff immediately notified us and we worked together to ensure our reception went perfectly, which it did! Morgan (our day-of coordinator) was very organized and on top of everything, we could not have been more grateful for her help. This is the best venue-a hidden gem in San Diego County!
Response from the Vendor on 03/31/2022
Thank you Rebecca and we are thrilled that everything went so well for you. We wish both the very best in your future together!
I looked all over Orange County and San Diego/Fallbrook to find the perfect wedding venue that stayed within our budget, and I just couldn't find any that felt right...until I went to the Vista Valley Country Club. The moment I drove up to the beautiful front entrance I was sold! The gorgeous wooden doors, the Tuscan Villa atmosphere, the overall vintage beauty of the place just blew me away! We got a tour with Laura, and for how much it would cost, it was such a great deal since there was just so much space to utilize such as the gorgeous ceremony site, the cute outdoor cocktail hour area, the enormous reception area inside including the beautiful bar and patio. The fact they would be transporting our guests in golf carts to the ceremony site was so fun too!
We did have to postpone our original wedding date due to the pandemic, but the venue worked well with us to ensure we got a new date squared away and transitioned everything easily. It did tack on another securing fee to book the venue for that day, but there's not much that could have been done about that with COVID going on. Our original rehearsal dinner plans fell through because of COVID as well, but it worked out perfectly since our venue also hosts rehearsal dinners! We had our wedding rehearsal and dinner at the same place which made everything so much easier! The food was absolutely to die for and it was nice to be able to spend a relaxing night by the firepit on the patio before the wedding. We had Kristy as our venue coordinator, and there just isn't enough we can say to describe how amazing she truly is! She answered all of our questions, eased any stress we had with wedding planning, handled every little detail for us, and we are just so grateful for her endless advice and support throughout our 3 year wedding planning journey. My husband and I can't thank her enough for making our wedding day feel so magical! I'm so happy we booked with the Vista Valley Country Club! It truly was the best day ever and all of our guests had so many wonderful things to say about it! HIGHLY RECOMMEND booking this venue for any event and we can't wait to come back for future visits!

Thanks Courtney and we were so happy to finally see you two tie the knot! Best to
you both for a happy future!
We got married at Vista Valley Country Club and it was an amazing day. I'd like to share the greats as well as other things so couples can know some things up front about the venue!
Greats:
-STUNNING venue, with the option to have both ceremony and reception outdoors. The indoor reception area is gorgeous as well. We had a lot of guests say it was the prettiest country club they had been to.
-Plenty of parking for guests
-Basics are included in the venue cost! By that I mean, basic round tables with white table cloths, basic chairs, silverware, plates, outdoor bar, outdoor kitchen etc which can be difficult to find when looking for an outdoor reception. Market lights and a concrete dance floor come with the outdoor reception area as well. They've expanded it and the area is quite large!
-Food is delicious, we really liked the food and appetizers and were excited for it. We also really liked the wine selection
-They are able to make some signature cocktails at no additional charge! This was amazing and made us really happy
- Comes with 2 rounds of golf which is so fun to play at your own wedding venue for you golfers out there
-Management is spectacular. They really do try everything in their power to do the best for their couples.
Things you should know:
-Need to be carted around in golf cart. Not allowed to walk from the country club to the ceremony or outdoor reception area. This causes a logistical problem if you would like photos in those areas day of prior to being down there for the ceremony. Also, very logistically difficult to do cocktail hour up at the clubhouse if you plan to do outdoor ceremony and reception so know that is going to be a difficult option up front. If you do make the time to be carted down there you have to pay an additional hourly fee for staff to do that.
- Bridal suite is gorgeous but you can't use it until 9AM without paying an additional fee. This can be hard to do- I ended up hiring extra assistants for both hair and makeup to avoid this.
- No bringing any external food or beverage or alcohol while getting ready. Not a big deal to me but does add costs quickly.
-Groomsman suite is a library that is stunning but is very low on natural light. Our photogs/videographers had a lot of issues trying to get good footage in the groomsman suite and ultimately ended up going outside to take photos and videos of the guys
- Coordinator is included and she did a great job but if you want to do a lot of extras for your wedding I would recommend hiring an additional coordinator or planner. They have so many events going on, if you want faster response or have a lot of personal items to place I'd get extra help. I hired an additional day of coordinator
- You cannot rent any items without going through the coordinator at the venue. This I felt was a hinderance to planning things on my own, but if you hired a wedding planner to interface it might not be an issue at all.
-Venue hard closes at 10PM. If you want to do sparklers and not cut into your reception time you need to pay to extend time.
All in all, it was a beautiful day and our guests and ourselves very much enjoyed our wedding.

Thank you Eileen. It was such a beautiful wedding and you were a gorgeous bride! Best of luck to you in your future together.
The second I toured Vista Valley Country Club, I KNEW I had to get married there. I literally cried after visiting because it was so beautiful, and I couldn't picture myself getting married anywhere else.
From there on, Laura and Kristy were dreams to work with. Laura helped make sure I could secure my wedding date before anyone else snagged it, and patiently worked with me as I figured out some of the higher level details with her and my mom.
Kristy was with me and my mom every step of the way as well, as we scheduled many visits to tour the venue with various people, did our food tasting, etc. She never complained and was always so kind. We are definitely planners and have a lot of questions, and she responded with ease and never made us feel like a burden throughout the 11 months of our engagement. She and Laura had such an attention to detail, that I knew everything would be great our wedding day.
The rehearsal the night before was so smooth, and Laura did a great job of coordinating all of us and making me feel so comfortable and ready to get married the next day. Little did I know that Kristy was off driving all over San Diego to make sure I had the right linens for the following day - a true testament to the kind of customer service Vista Valley offers!
On my wedding day, both Laura and Kristy were there every step of the way, making sure everything went smoothly and checking on me at different moments. Any time I needed anything (like the AC turned on) they were quick to accommodate, and I knew I never had to worry about a single detail with them! They also worked with my day-of coordinator beautifully, so I knew I had all of my bases covered.
The food was incredible and so delicious, the wait staff was kind beyond belief and always present if anyone needed anything, and the venue itself was stunning for our wedding. The thing I've received the most compliments on in the month since our wedding is just how gorgeous the venue was. It is truly a hidden gem for brides in San Diego, and I could not recommend it enough for any event.
I am so grateful I found Vista Valley Country Club!! They helped me have the wedding of my dreams and I will be forever grateful!

We didn’t get the best service from wedding coordinator

Hi Lorena, thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear you weren't happy with your Coordinator. Your wedding was absolutely beautiful as were you and all your guests seemed to really enjoy your day. We hope to see you in one your one ye...
ar anniversary for a celebratory dinner on us. Thank you for selecting Vista Valley for your wedding and Best wishes to you both!
My husband and I both fell in love with Vista Valley the moment we walked in. The venue is absolutely breathtaking. I loved the natural beauty of the ceremony garden and the rustic vibe of the clubhouse was just what we had envisioned for our wedding. They were super receptive and helpful when it came to us wanting to visit several times. Having a bridal suite and groomsmen library on site to get ready in was definitely a plus. Their service and their food during the bridal party's getting ready time was also top notch. The view at sunset was stunning...the food was delicious...and the staff was wonderful. Everything went smoothly the day of the wedding thanks to Kristy and her team. I couldn't have been happier with our choice!

Thank you Lauren! It was such a beautiful wedding and we are thrilled that you were so happy with everything! Best wishes to you both on a long and happy life together.
This venue is breathtaking!! Philip and Constance were very professional to work with and very knowledgable. Everything went smoothly and the pictures were stunning with such a beautiful wedding backdrop!
We recently had our wedding at Vista Valley Country Club. My husband and I knew Vista Valley Country Club would be the location of our wedding after seeing the ceremony site. The ceremony site took our breath away. The ceremony site is located off the golf course below the country club. The ceremony site is secluded and contains beautiful French gates that open to a beautiful site containing a long aisle way made out of coble stone, a coble stone foundation, a pond, and a altar below olives trees. The ceremony site looks like an enchanted garden.
The country club is absolutely beautiful too. The country club has an old world and lodge ambience. The country club is spacious and has many rooms and locations to host all different elements for your wedding or special occasion.
We loved the beautiful chandeliers in the dining room along with the 180-degree bar overlooking the golf course. The country club also had a large fire pit and an incredible fireplace located on both sides of the dining room. We used the large fire pit area for our cocktail hour and the fireplace space for our cigar and bourbon bar. Finally, the bridal suite was so spacious and gorgeous. We used the bridal suite room to for our hair and makeup artist and the room across the way to hang out, store our items, and eat our meals. The set up was perfect for us.
Vista Valley Country Club has incredible food. The appetizers and our main entrees were so delicious. The venue also had a great selection of wine, beers, and spirits.
Constance Ryan, the Catering and Sales Manager, was wonderful to work with. She was very helpful, friendly, and professional. Constance helped to make our vision a reality for our wedding.
I would highly recommend Vista Valley Country Club for your wedding or special occasion. This venue is truly a fairy tale place.
After touring at least a dozen venues in the San Diego and Orange County area, we selected the Vista Valley Country Club to host our wedding. The natural setting, blossoming rose bushes, the flowing creek and pond, gorgeous French antiques, and pristine, regal club house made us like Vista Valley Country Club. However, what sealed the deal for us was the site's AMAZING wedding coordinator, Christina. Both during the initial tour, through out the planning process, and on our wedding day, Christina was easy-going, sweet, and tremendously competent, organized and professional. Christina and this venue have a "make it work" philosophy, meaning that if the couple desires something for their wedding, VVCC will bend over backwards to see that the couple gets their wish. They truly want to make each wedding perfect and exactly what the couple wants. VVCC only hosts one wedding each weekend, and the club is closed to members the evening of the wedding. This appealed to me, as some venues host multiple weddings the same day and it can feel like a cattle call. The food at VVCC is delicious and feels like a 5-star meal, as opposed to catered food. They also have a nice variety of wine. While we opted to have both our reception and ceremony outdoors, the VVCC has a beautiful clubhouse that was recently restored to look like a French chateau. The owners are collectors of French antiques so there are antique gems throughout the property. The wedding ceremony site is behind large French-imported gates, in a rose garden. It feels far away from the world and was the perfect setting for the mood we wanted to set. the bride and groom dressing rooms are far and away the nicest, largest rooms that I saw at any venue. There is a Juliet balcony in the bride's room, as well as a private room for the bride to prep and a larger room for other woman to get ready. The groom's room is designed as a library, and feels very "manly." Having such beautiful space to spend the better part of the day in was a huge plus! While the venue is not inexpensive, I think it is a great deal compared to other venues we looked at nearby. In sum, I feel extremely lucky to have found the "hidden gem" of California wedding venues, Vista Valley Country Club, and can't imagine a more perfect site to hold a wedding!
We had selected this venue after visiting many venues for our wedding because it had a breath taking ceremony location. It was was shaded by big oak trees, had a bridge and a natural creek that ran through it. The Coordinator Andrew was a GREAT! Our day ran smooth as ice thanks to Andrew and his staff :) The reception area is also very beautiful with windows all around so you have a beautiful view. The food was absolutley delicious. We were very pleased with this venue, Andrew and his staff!

Working with brides and grooms as they plan their special day is all I have ever done. After well over 5000 weddings, I still get so excited meeting new couples; I love seeing the brides in their dresses day of; and I tear up as they walk down the aisle.
I have a treasure chest of knowledge when it comes to planning weddings and receptions of all ethnicities and I love sharing that with couples! I have partnered with the best vendors in the industry, which is in part why our weddings at Vista Valley are so successful.
