We had such an amazing wedding at The Hermitage Hotel!! Everything went SO smoothly and it turned out even better than I could have imagined!! My husband and I just knew we wanted to get married there from our first visit and we are so glad that we did! I highly recommend this vendor :)
We had an amazing wedding at the Hermitage Hotel! The staff was top-notch, and the remodel of the venue is gorgeous. It was perfect for our wedding of 70 guests.
After our engagement, the first thing my husband and I did was book a venue. Following our initial contact with The Hermitage, it was a no-brainer. The location is perfect, the hotel is stunning, and the staff is so friendly and accommodating. An added bonus - the hotel is 100% dog friendly, so both of our fur babies got to partake in the ceremony! Most notably, though, our venue coordinator, Janelle, was an absolute rockstar. She was constantly in touch throughout the planning process and did far more than was expected - she is the epitome of someone who goes "above and beyond."
Though our experience with this venue was not without its hiccups - for example, we had a really difficult time with booking & reservations for ourselves and our guests - everything worked out in the end better than we could have imagined. Even considering these hiccups, the process as a whole went very smoothly and with minimal stress.
A word to the wise though - while this venue can certainly be done on a budget, you have to be careful to track all expenses and have candid conversations with your coordinator at the outset about costs because they can add up quickly. Regardless, we wouldn't have changed a thing about our experience with The Hermitage and can't wait to return as guests.
The Hermitage Hotel made my wedding day dreams come true. From the moment you walk through the doors, you receive first class service. The hotel and event staff went above my expectations to make our guests feel comfortable and make our weekend celebration magical. From the choice of newspaper to the personalized stationary and complimentary champagne, the staff has thought of everything. Janelle was fantastic and made even the smallest details a top priority. She completely understood my vision and exceeded all of my expectations. We are forever grateful (and spoiled) by the relationships we made. The Hermitage Hotel will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
From the first time we looked at the Hermitage and meet with Janelle, it was perfect. Janelle and her staff were very professional and catered to our every need. They all made my daughters wedding day magical. The hotel is stunning!
This is going to be a long review, but do yourself a favor and read it all! The Hermitage Hotel (HH) made our wedding day the best day of our life. My husband and I couldn’t stop going on and on about how amazing it was, and he’s a tough critic. Our guests had a blast too. People always say that about their wedding day, but it’s true when you have a venue that nails all the details seamlessly. The governors inauguration took place the same weekend as our big day right next to the hotel, and we had zero doubts or concerns regarding this because of the rapport the HH established with us. We did operate on a budget, but Janelle my site coordinator was extremely respectful of that. Dollar for dollar it’s the best venue in Nashville, which I feel justified to say as a nashville native. I easily would have spent more money & endured more stress at any other venue. I did my entire wedding day there, and it was worth every single penny and more. I would never hesitate to recommend them for any event. They honored every offer they made and truly operated with the highest integrity I’ve ever experienced. I could never express the gratitude I have for the HH and Janelle.
The catering staff was fantastic. I don’t think they messed up anyone’s plated order, and we had 177 guests. They made the accommodations for my family parents who are vegan, and my mom who’s allergic to nuts with ease. My parents couldn’t even believe they remembered them! The wine and beer were excellent options. There was nothing they couldn’t and wouldn’t help me make happen. I’ve planned my fair share of big events, and I’ve never seen better coordination and operation.
Words can’t express how grateful I am for Janelle, my on site coordinator. Janelle and I worked together during my 9 month engagement while I finished nursing school in Nashville. Janelle is so easy to communicate with & quick to respond. It was so fun to have her coordinate the wedding too because we both worked so hard on it! Janelle and the Hermitage Hotel made my day there getting ready so stress free, and they treated my entire family and bridal party this way. The HH took care of every detail for us, and my family/bridal party never lifted a finger. A bridesmaid even commented on the kindness of the valet who retrieved a bag for her just to get something from it. Janelle helped my bridal party set up a room for me the night before for a girls night, and she ensured the governors salon had all the food & drink we ordered. She even helped me create the morning, and it made the day feel so much more special and relaxing. My bridesmaids and I actually got to enjoy the morning & day together because of Janelle and the HH. People said all day that I was the most relaxed they’ve seen me in years!
Janelle even decorated our hotel room that night & left little pieces of our cake for us. She seriously misses no detail. My husband and I are looking forward to heading back there for our anniversaries. It’s safe to say they far exceed all expectations, and we are forever grateful for the memories we have there!
The Hermitage Hotel is a venue that without a doubt that speaks for its self. If you are a soon to be bride and looking for a venue that offers a look that is utterly jaw dropping you should visit ASAP. Beyond the venue there are the people - we had the absolute pleasure of working with the best, Janelle Caudill (Onsite Event Manager) who from our first visit gave a sense of confidence that her team would deliver an experience that goes above and beyond our expectations. As a bride who was obsessed with making this day perfect Janelle delivered EVERY SINGLE step of the way. Looking back we could not have asked for anything more from the venue, from the staff, or from our friends and family - everything came together to make our special day perfect. Thank you Janelle and the Entire Hermitage Hotel Team. Side note: My Husband and his groomsmen loved the whiskey tasting on the day of the wedding (great surprise for your Hubby)!
My husband and I had our wedding at the GORGEOUS and historic Hermitage Hotel on December 23, 2018 at it was the best experience and wedding anyone could ask for. Our ceremony was in the beautiful Veranda followed by a lobby Cocktail hour and sit down dinner reception in the Grand Ball Room. No detail was left untouched. Carly, our wedding planner made this event completely stress free and her attention to detail was impeccable. The hotel was decorated for Christmas and it was absolutely gorgeous. Our seated dinner consisted of the most delicious filet mignon we have ever tasted--The Capitol Grill does not disappoint with their food selections! The wine and cocktails were of the highest quality too. Carly secured a gorgeous honeymoon suite on the 9th floor of the hotel for our wedding night and we did not want to leave the next day! The most incredible day of our lives so far!! We will be celebrating our anniversary at the Hermitage Hotel every year. Being Nashville natives, I can say without a doubt that it is the most beautiful and luxurious hotel in the city.
Our wedding was the most beautiful and perfect day that I ever could have imagined. We worked with Carly for over a year and she was such a big help with planning everything and helping me know where I should be in my planning timeline during the year and a half of our engagement. I did not hire a wedding planner, and really didn’t need to with how above and beyond Carly went with coordinating with my other vendors, making our timeline, and smoothing over last minute mix ups and crises. (Although if you’re looking for someone to coordinate EVERY detail I would consider hiring a wedding planner since she manages every event at the hotel and is obviously more hands off than a designated wedding planner would be) Attention to detail is something that everyone expects for weddings, but the attention to detail and customer service at the Hermitage Hotel was unparalleled to what I would have expected. In the chaos of planning and feeling overwhelmed by moving parts and strong opinions from vendors, guests, and others, I always felt like I came first and Carly always came back to me to be sure I felt comfortable with everything. Wedding planning is stressful, and wasn’t a stress that I enjoyed or handled very well, but it was so refreshing to just be able to let go and enjoy my day the day of the wedding. I was never asked to deal with last minute crises or details because everything was just taken care of. Every staff member was so kind and attentive right down to bringing me tissues as my dad and I hid and cried before we walked down the aisle. I was so grateful that my family and I just got to enjoy our wedding without feeling like we were working the whole event. Everything was excellent and I have no complaints about our wedding. If you’re on the fence about planning your wedding here, let me assure you that you will never regret having your wedding at the Hermitage Hotel and that it will be a magical and beautiful event that you and your family and friends will remember forever.
My daughter's wedding at the Hermitage Hotel in Nashville, TN the weekend after Thanksgiving was absolutely perfect. So many people came up to me and said they had been to many weddings and this one was the best ever. Carly Spielvogel, our Hermitage Hotel point of contact was amazing. She always took the time to discuss even the smallest details with both me and my daughter ensuring that her wedding was a top priority. From the beautiful veranda ceremony to the magnificently decorated lobby cocktail hour, and the amazing food at the reception, it was everything my daughter dreamed of. Thanks to Carly and all of the staff at the Hermitage Hotel for a very special day!
Our wedding day was perfect from beginning to end. All of the staff was so professional and worked so hard to make our day so special. Carly, the director of events and catering was so helpful throughout the entire wedding planning process. She was so great at ensuring the wedding day ran smoothly and bonus...she made sure my husband and I were adequately fed while taking pictures! The hermitage hotel and its staff goes above and beyond on everything. I would not have changed one single thing! And OMG the Christmas decorations throughout the hotel are beyond beautiful. If you love Christmas, get married when the hotel is decorated for Christmas!
The Hermitage Hotel was the perfect place for our wedding. We wanted to get married somewhere we could go back and visit, plus I didn't have to do a lot to the venue to decorate it, and they took care of a lot of the details that I didn't have to worry about. It is authentic and just right the way it is. I didn't want the theme to feel forced, but authentic and a place where people felt they were not only experiencing part of history, but creating a new memory as part of our history together as husband and wife. I wanted the experience to feel historical and to transport people away from the construction, the noise of Nashville and country music. We were going for an old Hollywood theme-we felt like celebrities!
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience with having our wedding and reception at the Hermitage hotel. We used the Veranda room for both and had a total head count of 34. We thought the space was perfect for what we wanted. Janelle Caudill, our main point of contact made the entire process simple and stress free, from the time we first met with her, all the way up to and after the big day. Janelle was always quick to respond emails, even if it was later in the evening or on a weekend. She assisted us with several things including booking musicians for the ceremony and coordinating with our photographer, minister and flower vendor to make sure everyone was in the loop and our timeline went according to plan. We do not have enough nice things to say about the service Janelle provided. In addition to Janelle, the service we received during the ceremony and reception was also great. Our guests had nothing but nice things to say about the whole experience. If you are looking to do a smaller sized wedding, i would most definitely recommend The Hermitage Hotel!!
My husband and I decided to have our destination wedding at the Hermitage Hotel in May this past year. I cannot thank Alyssa enough for all her help through the process! The wedding was so beautiful, the venue is just amazing, and the staff is the best! I cannot say enough good things about this venue or how great Alyssa was to have throughout planning and during the event.
Alyssa Wenger was incredible to work with when planning my event at the Hermitage Hotel. Because I live in Los Angeles, Alyssa connected me with the absolute best vendors in Nashville from an amazing florist to a pastry chef to create a custom cake and much more. In addition, she handled every request with kindness and grace making every detail of our luncheon executed to perfection.
Honestly words fall short, but we are so thankful that we decided to have our wedding at The Hermitage Hotel. The whole process was so seamless, and everyone at the hotel was so easy to work with and went well out of their way to make our wedding day a dream come true. The venue is beautiful, the food was amazing (our guests are still talking about it a week later), and Carly our coordinator couldn't have made the day more personal and special for us. We honestly can't say enough good things, and if you are considering having your wedding here and they are available, there is no better place and no question that it will be a wonderful experience. We ended up actually staying at the hotel the night of our wedding and the day after; our room was beautiful and our wedding songs were actually playing in the room on the TV playlist when we went up that night. This amount of detail was put into our whole wedding as well. Thank you to everyone at the hotel - especially Carly for making it a dream come true! Sincerely, Whitt and Alia Fiscus
Absolutely beautiful! They helped us create our dream wedding. Alyssa was always helpful and the venue is breathtaking. The key is booking as early as possible for the cheapest deal.
My husband and I got married at the beautiful Hermitage Hotel 7 years ago. The staff was simply amazing. I couldn’t have ask for a more perfect day. I go back to my wedding pictures now, and love the fact that the hotel provides a sense of timeless elegance that will never be outdated. Just recently, we celebrated our anniversary. With the help from the hotel, Capital Grill & coordinator, Janelle Caudill, they totally recreated our wedding reception dinner for two. We surprised my husband with the same menu, table linen, placecards and menu cards. Ms. Caudill even made the effort to go through our event file and even surprised us with our cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres and champagne! Needless to say, he was shocked. It was perfect. I can’t thank the staff enough for such amazing memories.
My husband and I were thrilled with our wedding reception at The Hermitage Hotel. The entire staff was extremely attentive and paid attentive to every detail. All of my guests had a wonderful time and the setting couldn't have been more beautiful or elegant. Alyssa did an amazing job of helping me feel at ease about every step of the planning process. We made many memories that will last a lifetime and are very happy about our decision to have our reception at The Hermitage Hotel.
The Hermitage Hotel is a breathtakingly beautiful place for a wedding reception. We could not have been more pleased! I gave it a 5 star rating; I could have easily given ten stars! Alyssa Wenger was our wedding coordinator and she did a great job. She was eager to help in any way -she answered our questions promptly, addressed our concerns, and made helpful suggestions to make our day extra special for our family and our guests. She was a joy to work with in every way.
This is the perfect place for a wedding and/or reception. The architecture is breathtaking. The colors are warm, inviting, and elegant. They have done such a great job of preserving the hotel and the integrity of the building. They take care of everything... and you just show up! The tables, tablecloths, serving staff, (delicious red-velvet) cake, food, etc.
If you decide to have your rehearsal dinner/welcome party/wedding/reception at The Hermitage Hotel... be sure that you find Alyssa Wenger! The woman is amazing, organized, helpful, clear, detailed, thorough, and excited about your wedding. She is joyful, on time, and knows how to prioritize your priorities and make it all happen the day of the wedding. She will walk you through the initial consultation and be there when you run through the bubbles/sparklers at the end of the day.
5 Stars for The Hermitage Hotel and Alyssa Wenger!!
Amazing! Perfect! Fabulous!
I had my heart set on a family farm wedding, but my parents convinced me the Nov. weather was too unpredictable, and The Hermitage Hotel just happened to have our date (3 months out) available!
We toured the hotel with their fabulous staff, and I was even more impressed! It's so beautiful and historic. Every little detail is special and they have the best customer service I've ever experienced.
Everything was taken care of for us. I felt so special and had the utmost confidence everything would be wonderful. Because of that, I felt peaceful and so happy our entire wedding weekend, rather than frazzled or frustrated.
I can't say enough good things about it--really. It's in the heart of downtown Nashville. This venue has so much to offer. Our guests stayed there as well and everyone raved about the quality and care of their experience. Our loved ones had such a blast, thanks in huge part to being guests at the hotel as well as our wedding guests. Countless people have told us 'Seriously-- best wedding ever.'
All the stars for The Hermitage Hotel.
Our wedding at The Hermitage exceeded my expectations in every way. From the staff, to the food and general atmosphere, it was everything I could have hoped it would be. I could write pages and pages about all the amazing things the hotel pulled off over the course of our wedding weekend, but I'll try and stick to the highlights:
1) Carly, the event coordinator at the Hermitage, is AMAZING and an absolute delight to work with. She made planning our wedding stress-free and enjoyable. I didn't have to worry about anything because I knew she was there to take care of everything.
The night before the wedding my hair and makeup artist went AWOL, leaving me and my bridal party with no one to help us to get ready. Carly pulled off a miracle in the 11th hour, calling her contacts and arranging for plenty of hair stylists and makeup artists to take care of us.
Carly was open to new ideas and got along well with my amazing (but sometimes crazy) wedding planner who had a very specific "vision" for the wedding. This included being flexible about the ceremony space. While the ceremonies are typically done in the veranda, Carly worked with my wedding planner and the amazing Hermitage staff to transform the Capitol Grille restaurant into an ethereal ceremony space.
It's been two months since the wedding, and I still hear from Carly. I truly consider her a friend and know the wedding wouldn't have been the same without her!
2) The rest of the staff at the Hermitage were absolutely TOP NOTCH. There was no request left unfulfilled or any detail overlooked.
I recently learned that my grandmother-in-law requested a recliner in her room for the weekend because she can't sleep in a regular bed. When she arrived, there was no recliner. Mere hours later, the hotel's head of engineering was in her room, assembling a recliner they had purchased specially for her use at no charge.
Because the hotel is smaller and there is only one ballroom, your wedding is the focus. The staff truly go out of their way to make you and your guests comfortable.
3) The atmosphere, architecture and ambiance at the Hermitage cannot be matched. The ceilings are all beautifully decorated and painted in the same way they were when the hotel opened over 100 years ago. The hotel itself is truly breathtaking from the lobby's incredibly high ceilings, to the ornately appointed ballroom. If you're looking for a gorgeous vintage-y vibe for your wedding, look no further.
The guest rooms are not overshadowed, either. The bedrooms are quite cozy, with all the modern amenities you could want. The bathrooms feel like you're at the spa, including their amazing soaking tubs.
While I could go on and on, I'll just leave it at this: I am 100% satisfied with my wedding at The Hermitage Hotel, and I wouldn't have changed a thing!
The Hermitage Hotel is/was the perfect venue for our wedding. Not only is the hotel historical and stunningly beautiful on the outside..the inside radiates with beauty, history, hospitality, friendliness, cleanliness, "a can do attitude", and makes an amazing backdrop for making memories with friends and family. Carly Spielvogel was a rockstar for me and my fiance. She was responsive, timely, patient, kind, friendly, creative, and tailored our wedding to our preferences. We trusted her opinion and she is one of the most experienced people I've worked with in the hospitality industry. She is a person of "yes!" Her vocabulary is full of "Yes, we can do that" and "if we can't, we will find someone who can." She made excellent vendor recommendations which made planning from California a breeze! All the vendors she recommended for the wedding were affordable and did a remarkable job! Considering I didn't have a planner that I had hired, I think I struck gold with the experience of Carly and The Hermitage Team! Our guests had an easy experience booking their rooms at The Hermitage and commented on the overall service and hospitality of the staff at the hotel! They loved the rooms and it made the perfect Southern Backdrop for our Christmas Wedding! What a gorgeous venue....the big Christmas Tree in the lobby and all the garland and wreaths that adorned the place really put everyone in a festive mood and limited the amount of decorating we had to do. We also hired a piano player for the cocktail hour who played on the grand piano in the lobby--what a special treat! The deliveries and setup for the band were seamless...I honestly don't even know how they did it because no one ever had to contact me for anything day of the event! Also, the food was amazing! Our guests enjoyed the filet and salmon and the sides were so good! Our friends were so impressed that food for over 100 people could taste so fantastic , hot, and served all at once--very hard to do for large parties. We even had a farewell brunch the next morning with all of our favorite breakfast items--waffles, eggs, pastries, bacon, juices, etc! I would defintely recommend The Hermitage Hotel for any and all things bridal! If you are a Southern Bride or just love the City of Nashville, The Hermitage is so Nashville--the history, the hospitality, the food, and the fun! Not to mention its close to the Capital, the Ryman, and close enough to Broadway to be convenient and just far enough to get some peace and quiet. And the photo opportunities are unmatched! Carly, thank you for making our day incredible! We will always remember you and your ability to organize, make last minute changes, and make us comfortable with your friendly attitude, smile, poise, and class!
The Hermitage Hotel was the ideal venue for our small, intimate wedding party of around 60 guests. Carly and her team executed our wedding wine and cheese cocktail hour and luncheon flawlessly and deliciously! There is no lovelier venue than this hotel, and my groom and I were delighted by the attention to detail and the delicious menu. Chef designed the wedding cake, which was inspired by my couture gown. Our guests were unanimous in their compliments about the venue, the menu and the service. Thank you to all who contributed to making our wedding day such a perfect celebration!!
Wow… The Hermitage Hotel is the best place to have a wedding hands down. I have been to numerous weddings, and the Hermitage Hotel is literally the most beautiful venue of them all. I had the great pleasure of working with Hannah Falkosky through my entire wedding planning process and she was absolutely the best! She was always available to answer any questions whether in person, by phone, or by email. My wedding went perfectly at the Hermitage Hotel thanks to Hannah. The hotel is breath taking, inside and out. My guests and I truly felt as if we were dining and celebrating at a Hollywood party from the 1940s. The entire staff from bellboys to cook staff are phenomenal. They make amazing food and have a fantastic bar. I loved every minute of my wedding thanks to everyone at the Hermitage Hotel. If you consider getting married anywhere else you are crazy, because this is the best place in the entire south! I was told numerous times the day of, and still weeks after my wedding how beautiful the venue was, and how much it fit my fairytale wedding. So do yourself a favor, get married at the most luxurious place in Nashville, TN!
Our wedding reception at The Hermitage Hotel exceeded all of my hopes & dreams!!! Hannah was our coordinator & she went above & beyond to make our day a wonderful one. Her attention to detail was perfect & everything was exactly the way we had planned! Additionally, Hannah was kind & courteous throughout the entire planning process. She was there for us & accommodated our every request on wedding day! Our guests commented for weeks about the beautiful venue, the delicious food, & the incredible service. A HUGE thanks to Hannah & The Hermitage Hotel for making our day PERFECT!!!
Beautiful hotel. Food (that was served) was excellent. Hotel contact person was charming and very helpful. However, one table was not served during reception. Eggplant was not on eggplant dish. Wrong credit card was charged for entire event!!!
I had a great reception - it was pretty much perfect. BUT i had a difficult time getting the hotel wedding planner to return emails and calls. My wedding was perfect despite her, not because of her. At the end, when i finally complained, her boss came in and took over-- she was exceptional.
Having my reception at the Hermitage Hotel was one of my best decisions. It is more expensive, but you totally get what you pay for. My contact at the Hotel took care of everything for me and was so available! She also stayed excited and happy when we met which made me more at ease. Until my wedding day, I was 100% satisfied with my experience. A few things went differently at the wedding than I had been told they would, so that was a bit frustrating, but it wasn't anything major.
The Hermitage Hotel truly knows what they're doing... our wedding was beautiful, well organized, and a huge hit among our guests. The planning process was a breeze with Shelby and I would highly recommend them for people looking for an elegant event.
By far the best wedding decision we made was to get married at The Hermitage Hotel in downtown Nashville! Every aspect was top notch, from the planning down to ease of checking out following day. We received the 5 star service you would expect at a much more affordable price than you may think. It was worth every dime! Kimberly is a dream to work with and everyone on staff makes sure your experience is peaceful. They think of everything so you can fully enjoy the most wonderful day of your life! And, it is a GORGEOUS venue!
