Oh my heavens! What can I say about The Hometown Chef?! We had a tapas-style wedding with starters, a charcuterie board to open, and final meals with plates such as sliders, meatballs with a crazy-delicious sauce, and the most delicious Mac n’ Cheese anyone has ever had - served in a martini glass!!! Our guests have raved non-stop over how amazing our food was and we completely agree!!! Thank you for being the star of the show!!! We wanted our guests to have a wonderful experience and you DID NOT disappoint!! We will forever be grateful to you for giving us this amazing experience and for being so integral to the success of the best day of our lives!!! You were incredible!

The Hometown Chef was great to work with! We had a plated dinner for about 180 people and they were so efficient and made the dinner service run smoothly. The food was tasty and we had multiple people request seconds! They also worked with us on multiple dietary restrictions and did a great job making those accommodations for us. Raiza in particular was so helpful! It was really important for us to have good food and quick service at our wedding, and The Hometown Chef really delivered!

TL;DR - Fiancée and I got catfished. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND! Let me start off by saying that I understand that catering is difficult due to travel time for the food and cooking in mass quantities. That said, what we got was NOWHERE NEAR what was promised and we were extremely disappointed. When we went to our menu tasting, the food was amazing! We were both really excited because the options we chose tasted great and we had hoped our wedding would be the one to actually have good food for once (spoilers: it didn't). Among the dishes were salmon, chicken, brussel sprouts, "adult" mac and cheese, as well as garlic bread and salad. Fast forward to the big day, we get our plate of food and immediately notice it doesn't look quite like what we had tried and expected. Ok, it takes time to get to the venue and food doesn't stay fresh forever, but taste and quality-wise it was akin to getting stale fast food - at least with old fast food, you know what to expect! Food: I thought the chicken was decently tender with an average sauce whereas my fiancée said her piece of chicken was bland and overcooked. My piece of salmon, as well as a few other guests, had bones in it. I'm glad the children attending didn't have issues with theirs, but that's not something I should have to worry about! The "adult" mac and cheese which my fiancée had been particularly excited for was basically just Kraft mac and cheese. Seriously. We went from a velvety and saucy mac with a slight kick to basically something most children could make on their own from a box. Garlic bread and salad were pretty standard and the only saving grace from this catering company were the brussel sprouts which actually tasted not too different from what we had tried. For quality reference, we had purchased a lechon (roasted pig) from another restaurant and brought it to the venue in the morning when we arrived to get ready and that was leagues better after 6 HOURS of sitting out compared to the "fresh" catered food. Conclusion: We intended to splurge ($60 per person!) on quality food after going through several different vendors and were excited after sampling what HomeTown Chef had to offer. To our displeasure, the product we got on our big day was nothing close to what we were promised. Quality control and consistency among dishes were extremely lax. The chicken had varying degrees of doneness from tender to rubber bullet and unlucky people (myself included) had bones in their pieces of salmon, something you should NEVER have had to worry about in the first place. Taste was a far cry from what we expected. The salmon wasn't as good as we remembered and the "adult" mac and cheese was not any better than something you could get at the grocery store. Gotta give credit where credit is due: whoever cooked the brussel sprouts that day did a good job as that was the only thing that was consistently good. Overall though, I would HIGHLY DISCOURAGE prospective clients from rendering HomeTown Chef's services unless they really step up their game past the initial sampling and can actually deliver even a fraction of what they promise. Honestly, you're better off treating each guest to a nice dinner at a fancy restaurant because at least you know the money you splurge on them will be spent on good food and not the bait-and-switch we had the misfortune of experiencing.

We loved having Hometown for our wedding! The entire process was amazing with them, from the inquiry, to the tasting, and throughout the entire book/payment process. They made delicious food that our guests raved about all night, and there servers were great!

Unfortunately did not have a great experience with this company. I recently attended my friends' wedding as one of the few vegans there and the option provided was sub par. It was supposed to be "cauliflower parmesan" (like chicken parm) with garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus but we ended up with 3 cauliflower florets on the plate slathered in marinara sauce, no asparagus at all, non-garlic mashed potatoes, and some random weird grain loaf thing that they claimed was vegan bread? It wasn't good! Frustrated for my friends who went out of their way to provide a vegan option for us and it not being at all what they asked for on our behalf. By the way the bride is vegetarian!! So this was her meal for their special night too. Unacceptable! They invested their time, money, and trust into your company and y'all did not deliver.

Amazing food, great communication, flawless execution, extreme flexibility, and such great service. Tiffany did an amazing job at making sure that everything I wanted, everything I didn't want, and everything I didn't know I needed was taken care of. Everything from price to taste to execution exceeded my expectations. I felt comfortable asking questions, seeking advice, and acting on suggestions with the staff. 10/10 recommend booking!

I utilized Hometown Chef for my wedding and everything went so smoothly and the food was, of course, delicious!! I did 2 apps (bacon wrapped shrimp-highly recommend) and Italian, buffet dinner (a surprise favorite was the eggplant lasagna). They prepped dishes for my husband and I to have upstairs during cocktail hour since everyone says you never get to truly sit and eat at your wedding- this was a huge plus. They also know a linen/chargers company so I didn't have to randomly find one. Beyond the service during the wedding Tiffany and her team were always available via phone/email to help with any and all questions that may have popped up during my planning. 20/10 recommend this very down to earth and professional team.

The food showed up on time and everything was exactly like we experienced at the tasting. Service was great and was very responsive in keeping tables cleaned.

Literally EVERY single person at our wedding came up to us last night saying how wonderful our food was!!!!! It was so good when we tasted it but I was worried about how it would be when it was basically mass produced. INCREDIBLE! Every bite! Tell your team bravo. Coming from two foodies, you made our night!

The Hometown Chef was the best choice we could have made for our September 4th wedding! My first interaction was at an open house where I tasted the food just passing by and I wrote my name down on their sign in sheet. Not too long after, I had the pleasure of speaking with Donna and she was so sweet and very helpful! Then we went in for the tasting. Such a great experience working directly with Julio & Tiffany. You can tell they genuinely care about all of their couples. Then the day of arrived and from what I know, there were no hiccups or anything. They were on time and the staff were right on top of everything. I highly recommend The Hometown Chef!

Tiffany and her entire team are amazing! We had to reschedule due to the crazy Texas Winter freeze, and she could have charged us an arm and a leg for having to postpone but she was so honest and sweet to us! We will forever be thankful for Hometown Chef Catering! Their food was delicious and gave me my dream of having a quesadilla bar at our wedding! She had 3 stations at our wedding and our guests loved them all! We went with the quesadilla, pasta, and beef carving station! I loved the flexibility that people could grab 1-3 servings of all different foods if they wanted, and the lines to each station were super short which made the flow easier! The servers were professional and took care of everything so I could enjoy my wedding night!

I loved working with Hometown Chef! Their tasting was so delicious and all the staff were great in terms of sending me new invoices to keep up with all my changes, as well as just great communication. Highly recommend them and would use them for any other event. Appetizers are THE BOMB. They were really accommodating with us and our multiple wedding date changes as well as our food restrictions. Very flexible with the bar as well! Only critique I have were more so on the wedding day itself. My wedding day my planner had handed one of the staff that was attending my dessert table some containers for guests to package left over desserts. At the end of the night she found them on the floor under the table so unfortunately I had a lot of dessert go to waste. Honestly that's not really the company's fault as a whole but more so just the individual who was attending. Overall highly recommend. Thank you so much for helping to make our day amazing!

If you’re searching for a caterer, look no further! It’s been a month since our wedding and guests are still raving about the catering by Hometown Chef — in fact, I’m craving their chimichurri steak right now 🤤. After a less-than-pleasant experience with our original caterer, Hometown Chef jumped in and saved the day. Reasonably priced, excellent food, stellar service, and just the sweetest team (seriously, one of their team members even offered to hold my brother’s fussy baby during the ceremony so that he and his wife could go back inside and watch our vows).

HOMETOWN CHEF I can't say enough good things, they were amazing at our wedding. The food was even better than at our tasting!!! We got so MANY compliments on our menu we chose. We would highly recommend them for any occasion. The service , customer service, just everything. Good but not great. Their staff is extremely kind. I really enjoyed the tasting I did with my fiancé and my dad. We did pay extra for my dad to join us, which was expected going into it. The food during the tasting was so amazing and we talked up the food prior to the wedding because we were so excited to have it again. Unfortunately, the meal at my wedding was not nearly as good as it was during the tasting. It wasn’t horrible, but it was nowhere near as good as it was during the tasting. The appetizer board was apparently delicious (I did not even look at it. Too busy being a bride) but the actual meal was not what I thought it would be. Luckily, we were first in line and we were able to tell the staff to put out the BBQ sauce and other fixings. The staff informed me while I was in line that they were told not to put out the sauces because we requested them not to. I said that was incorrect so she brought them out. I checked after the wedding our invoice and nowhere did it say that we didn’t want it. In fact, it said the opposite. Bad communication, I suppose. Also, we were asked prior to the wedding if we wanted staff controlling the drink dispensers to limit contact due to covid. We said yes but apparently they did not deliver. We did not pay for them to do this, but why ask if you’re not going to do it? Nothing horrible happened, thankfully. I just wanted to write that the food wasn’t as good as I expected it to be. The staff were very kind and the communication before the wedding was great.

Food, service and customer service were perfect! We received so many wonderful compliments about the food and it was all done so seamlessly. From the display during our cocktail hour, to dinner, to cake cutting, to our late night snack...it was worth every bit! I was so incredibly impressed with the service provided for our special night! I would HIGHLY recommend! Thank you Hometown Chef for being so responsive as we planned and making our night so delicious and easy!

The Hometown Chef exceeded our expectations for catering. In addition to cooking crazy delicious food, their customer service and heart for what they do are unmatched. They were so gracious with us through a date change (thanks to COVID) AND a day-before-the-wedding venue change (thanks to hurricane). They made the process easy and enjoyable. We used The Hometown Chef for our daughters wedding and we are so grateful we did! They did a great job getting everything figured out and getting in contact with our day of coordinator. We made a few request related to diet and such. Some where fulfilled and some were missed due to workers not being informed. The food was great when we went to the tasting but what was served at our actual wedding was not the same quality. I understand that it is not easy to cook that food for a large crowd but I feel that we should have been alerted of this ahead of time when making our decision. Still, the food tasted good and the guest were happy with it. It just wasn't the quality that was originally presented to us.

I ended up booking Hometown Chef prior to having my tasting due to COVID, and all of the spring weddings getting postponed to the fall. I was definitely a little nervous about this, but I was in contact with Donna for weeks (who is amazing at responding and answering all of my MANY questions) and ultimately trusted them being a preferred vendor of my venue. I just had my tasting this past weekend with Tiffany and Chef Julio. My fiance and I wanted to include some sort of Korean fusion dishes, and chef was able to do so with our hors d'oeuvres. All of the food had great flavor, and chef asked us for our critiques and took notes to he could make adjustments for our wedding. Chef and Tiffany really wanted to cater us and what we wanted for our special day. Overall, I highly recommend The Hometown Chef and can't wait to have them at our wedding!

They are very friendly!! The food we tasted at the open house for our venue was amazing! At Our food tasting the food was amazing! Sadly for the wedding day it did not compare to what we had previously tasted. I understand maybe making for the mass at your wedding it may Taste different. But we just talked it up so much and I felt like we lied to everyone. They did come with table settings (plates, forks, water glasses) which was nice.

If you are a food snob, I highly recommend this caterer for your wedding!! They are such nice people and the chef is very talented. After the tasting, I was counting down the days to eat the food again. They made notes after our tasting and followed through! My wedding planner was very excited to work with them as well. They had never been to our venue so they did a walk through before our wedding to make sure they were prepared.

Great food, good service. Very nice chef and manager- they took the time to meet with us and talk through our menu. We were served a plate to make sure we ate during the dinner and sent us an extra plate after the reception to take with us to our hotel. Definitely recommend!

These folks were so great for our wedding! We have such an eclectic taste in foods and the chef seemed really excited to work with us on our menu. Samosas and empanadas? Sure why not! Oh and you need a vegetarian station? Ok! We got so many compliments on the food! As far as pricing goes their prices were very agreeable and they were happy to work within our budget. Their pricing breakdown in the quote was really clear so I could understand what I was paying for and project out in a spreadsheet what to expect if we hit our max guest count.

We recently used The Hometown Chef for our wedding on 10/13/19 and I cannot explain how pleased I was with the experience of working with these guys. From the initial consult, which they organized as a courtesy to us super last minute, to putting together the menu and all the changes we had, to executing perfectly the day of, the head chef Julio, Tiffany, Donna, all the staff and everyone we worked with was absolutely wonderful. We had a unique component to our wedding (I'm of Ukrainian background) where we brought in our own appetizers and requested The Hometown Chef to plate all of them and serve (for 20 tables as well as the sweetheart table for us). Not a single issue was experienced throughout our evening and on top of that, all our guests were supremely satisfied with the quality/taste of the food. It was immediately evident when we first met the head chef Julio for the tasting that he knows what he is doing and is clearly gifted at his craft. The taste of the food was a massive factor for us and he delivered in spades. Once again, super highly recommend these guys. They were professional, flexible, Affordable (!), courteous and trustworthy. Thank you so much for what you did for us on our wedding day. It will not soon be forgotten.

Hometown Chef catered my 25yr anniversary vow renewal at Madera Estate Sep 21. They went above and beyond to make sure everything was exactly the way I wanted it, the food was hot and delicious! We received a lot of compliments from our guest and we look forward to having them cater our future events! It’s almost not soon enough to get to have their delicious cuisine!

The Hometown Chef catered our vow renewal ceremony at Madera Estates September 7th. The service was awesome. The appetizers and dinner were very delicious. Our guests are still talking about the bacon wrapped shrimp. They even sent us with to go plates afterwards. Spectacular service and we recommend The Hometown Chef 100%!

Food was delicious! They let us come in and have a private tasting beforehand, and all of the dishes were scrumptious. The presentation of the food was very pleasing, and they got a large group fed fairly quickly. They answered our myriad of questions beforehand patiently and professionally. Very accommodating with details. We barely noticed that the staff was there, and they kept the tables clean. Would absolutely recommend!

Working with Hometown Chef was a breeze. My husband and I knew we wanted Fajitas but we also had a few requests that were different. We also catered a Mothers Day buffet for breakfast the next morning through them and it was wonderful. I called the office to request a few special details like appetizers on the table for center pieces, they were excited and more than accommodating. My only minor minor thing was that our buffet line was picked up before my husband and I even got into the reception hall. We order food for 150 when we had 130 guest, so I don't think we ran out of food. I am assuming that our "wedding coordinator" from the venue asked them to pick up the line without consulting with me before hand, which is why I gave them a full 5 stars!

The whole team at Hometown chef catering company is wonderful, and I cannot recommend them enough. We have used them twice now, first for a small 50 person birthday, and this last time for my wedding. Both times they were extremely diligent in noting my food allergies and preferences, and went above and beyond to accommodate me and my event. I requested dairy and gluten free meals, and both times my expectations were more than met. The food was delicious and safe, and all of it was gone by the end of the meal. The crew also worked with me on adjusting my order as we got closer to the date and guest numbers finalized, and their communication was top-notch. As a bonus they offer eco-friendly service ware; A bamboo plate And cutlery set. I used the plates, and they worked great. The servers they sent out were clean professional unobtrusive efficient and friendly. Everything about my experience with this company and team was positive. I know I will continue to work with them in the future for any events that me or my business might have, and I will rest easier knowing that things are under control and everyone will have a good meal.

If we had to choose them on our own, we would have. Having them come with our venue "Madera Estates" was an added bonus that gave us the peace of mind of knowing this meal was in great hands. If you want people coming up to you during your wedding to tell you how much they loved the food, look no further. You have found the right caterer! The Hometown Chef catered our evening wedding on April 22, 2019. We had served appetizers and buffet. This catering service knocked it out of the park. All the food was moist and fresh, which was even more impressive because it was a buffet. I strongly recommend the blackened Tilapia with Cajun Butter Sauce! If you go with this catering team, not only will you have amazing food and beautiful presentation but great service. For example, when we were taking bridal photos during the guests cocktail hour some of the Hometown staff came over to pass out horderves to the bridal party without anyone asking. Even before the big day Donna and Terrie were amazing to work with. Email communication was quick and efficient. They also made organizing our menus easy and stress-free. They worked with our budget and found creative ways to make things work with no sacrifice to quality. I have nothing but good words to say about this service; friendly, helpful, supportive, just wonderful. If you are considering going with them I say do it! As a bride, I truly valued not having to worry about the food and it felt great when so many people told me how much they loved it. Thank you The Hometown Chef for making my big day so delicious!!

We were so blown away by Home Town Chef! Tiffany and Julio and their team give a 5 star product from top to bottom. We still have guests talk to us about the food to this day. 10/10 would recommend to everyone for any catering needs especially that one special day you will never forget. Wow this company is amazing! My now husband and I met Tiffany at the Bridal Extravaganza show last January. We instantly knew we wanted to work with Hometown Chef. We set up an tasting and we felt like family. Tiffany and Julio worked with us on the menu and were open to our suggestions. As the months passed and our big day got closer I wanted to make a few changes. Between Terrie, Donna and Tiffany we were able to make all the changes. Terrie and Donna work in the office and were always super easy to get a hold of and great. A week before Tiffany called me to confirm every thing, it was perfect since there were still minor details that I had not even thought of and she took care of it. The day of the wedding was perfect and our food was amazing. There was not a single problem that we or our guests noticed. Everything was hot and seasoned so well. We had a 2 main dish buffet with 2 sides, salad and a fruit and cheese plates. We got compliments all night on how good our food was and how it was not "boring wedding food". We had asked that they package up leftovers so we could give it to friends and family and they did so with no extra cost. Hometown Chef is a great catering company, but more importantly they treat their clients like family. Your wedding will be in great hands and I have zero regrets for picking them as my caterer.

It was a pleasure to meet them at the tasting and get to know them. My family and I left the tasting so excited. The food was AMAZING! The day of our wedding we had so many compliments. After things did not work out with our initial caterer, I began to panic because our wedding was only 2 months away. However, my sister is in the industry, and she and her colleagues highly recommended The Hometown Chef. So, we emailed Tiffany and she was extremely prompt in responding to our inquiry and setting up a meet and greet. Tiffany even offered to meet us near our home, which was so thoughtful as their office is quite far from us. She is energetic, personable, and we instantly felt a connection that not only brought us a huge sense of relief but it was then that we knew we wanted The Hometown Chef to cater our wedding. We chose the Tex-Mex menu and the tasting was truly spectacular from the presentation to the intimate conversation we were able to have with Chef Julio and Tiffany. It was by far one of the best meals I’ve ever had and the personal attention from Chef Julio and Tiffany was even better! The enchiladas, chicken fajitas, re-fried beans, and spanish rice were to die for!! Moreover, it was Chef Julio and Tiffany’s professionalism that left us completely at ease on our big day and we couldn’t possibly recommend anyone higher! Do yourselves a favor and save some time by choosing The Hometown Chef for your event!

Tiffany is such an enthusiastic vendor. We had tons of ideas, and she made them all come to life and did not make us feel like our choices were too much work on their part. The menu tasting was so much fun, and we were able to change and add things, based off what we loved at the tasting! The set up and clean up was done so effortlessly. I was never bothered on the wedding day about anything. We had plates of food waiting for us in the bridal suite, and at our bride/groom table. We never had to ask for our food, and were even given to go boxes to take with us after! (so glad we had that!) Great experience all around!

We hit a GRANDSLAM when we chose The Hometown Chef Catering Co. to cater our wedding!!! Planning a wedding can be stressful- fortunately the staff at Hometown Chef took any and all the stress out of catering! I loved how easy it was to get along with them, and how friendly they were throughout our whole planning process! I immediately loved that this was a husband and wife team- and not only was their love for each other apparent (and so stinkin’ cute!) but their love for food, and what they do was always present! We received SO many compliments from our guests on how good everything was! Everything was cooked perfectly, and served hot! When I walked into our first tasting and requested mini hotdogs, (and other ballpark food items to go along with our Houston Astros themed cocktail hour), Tiffany didn’t look at me like I was crazy.. instead her face LIT UP with excitement with the idea! I was sold. Her energy was infectious!! I can 100% say that Chef Julio, Tiffany & the entire staff at Hometown Chef brought my vision to life and then some!!!!! One of our best decisions choosing Hometown Chef Catering Co. From our first conversation with Tiffany, to our amazing private tasting, to the wonderful waitstaff at the wedding, and of course we cannot say enough about the food. We absolutely made the right decision hiring Hometown Chef . Everyone at the wedding was commenting on how good the food was, and how polite and wonderful the waitstaff was serving the food. If we could do it all over again, we would definitely choose Hometown Chef again. We would like to personally thank all of them for doing such an amazing job.

9 days before my wedding, my caterer fell through. In a panic I called The Hometown Chef Catering Co. and they were INCREDIBLE. They were understanding and got to work right away for my wedding. In just EIGHT DAYS they pulled together a menu and food for 200 people and it was amazing. They truly bent over backwards for us and I would recommend them to anyone and everyone. Plus the food is AMAZING.

The Hometown Chef did an AMAZING job for our wedding at the Gardens at Madeley Manor. They are willing to work with you to create a menu that fits your event. We wanted to have a traditional family style dinner, which is pretty unconventional for weddings, but Tiffany was immediately on board when we brought up the idea to her! Make sure to go for a tasting so you can meet the chef and taste all the great food options they have to offer. The Staff was very professional during our wedding and we were beyond impressed with the quality of food.

The quote & confirmation process was easy & efficient. We can't wait to use them again for another company event. Tiffany is a doll!

Hometown Chef Catering was amazing! The food was great and the service was even better! Tiffany and her staff went above and beyond for our wedding. From the initial contact, we always felt completely taken care of. They even had appetizers in the bridal suite for my husband and myself after the ceremony. I wasn’t ever worried about the catering. Absolutely amazing!!!

100% recommend Hometown Chef! My mom and I went to their tasting and were immediately blown away by not only their food but their passion for the business. Even though we had a small wedding of ~50 people, they helped us create a custom menu and Tiffany was super responsive to my numerous questions and emails. I didn't have a planner at all for my wedding, but Tiffany called the week before going over every detail from setup to the food. The crew that arrived on the day of were great and everything went perfect. Obviously food was delicious -- our guests loved the chimichurri shrimp and mac & cheese! Thanks again!!
