The Hotel at Avalon

I am a wedding planner and I had the pleasure of planning a friend's 25 year vow renewal on 12/31/21 at The Hotel at Avalon. I have been in business for over 6 years and have only written 1 other review. Carole Trulio went above and beyond in every sense. From the beginning she was on top of every detail. 2021 has been an overwhelming year for the wedding industry, but you wouldn't know it from dealing with Carole. She was prompt to answer every email and always made herself available for calls. She was understanding and compassionate about different situations that came up. On the day of the vow renewal the hotel was overwhelmed with guests and my client had some issues getting some things. When Carole heard about this, she immediately resolved the problem. Things that were not in her job description but she stepped right in and got the job done. Keisha was the banquet manager and she was also fantastic! The serving staff was courteous and worked non-stop.

The Hotel at Avalon is truly a unique and beautiful venue for a wedding. We had a bridal luncheon, ceremony, and reception at this location. Each event went extremely well. Carole was so easy to work with, professional, and efficient. Highly recommend!

I struggled developing a rating for this vendor, because we had such a mix of experiences. If I had written this two months before our wedding, it would have been a solid one-star rating. Their sales department is/was honestly a mess. Our original contact always took at least a couple of weeks and multiple emails to respond. It made the whole room block booking process take so much longer. Additionally, we wanted to book our rehearsal dinner with the South City Kitchen within the hotel. I spoke with our contact and the managers for the restaurant multiple times. They sent me menus and pricing. When I was ready to book the date, I emailed them asking for the contract. They never responded to my multiple emails, so we were forced to go with another venue. I just don't understand a sales team not responding when I was just asking to spend more money with their establishment. About two months before the wedding, we had a change in point-of-contact and this was a turning point for the experience. Morgan is absolutely fantastic! She responds in a timely manner and even met me at the hotel to show me what their various suites look like. She is so attentive and makes each couple feel like she cares. The hotel itself is brand new and the rooms and facilities are so nice! All of our guests that stayed there were very impressed and had a wonderful time.
