Hotel Roanoke is the most elegant and stunning venue! Our ceremony was in the Garden Courtyard and our reception was in the crystal ballroom. The overall setting of Hotel Roanoke is relaxing and inviting. Our venue was quick to contact us and ensure that we were on the right track with planning. The whole staff was dedicated to excellence and attended to our every need. The dinner was absolutely perfect as well. Our guests loved the venue and the food!
Location is beautiful and convenient for out of town guests. There were some details I wish were shared with us (there was a prom and two other weddings that day. We found out day of) and I feel the level of service and communication was elevated after we hired a day-of-coordinator.
Otherwise, wonderful place to get married, but looking back, getting a coordinator helped elevate our event.
Great staff helped our day run seamlessly. Food was 10/10!! Only things I wish went differently were with the coordination of the rooms in the block and the weekend events they had planned for the same weekend. I asked if there were any other weddings scheduled for our weekend, and they said no. After we booked, we were only allotted 15 rooms, which seemed pretty low for our destination wedding of 100 people. I asked for more, and after some back and forth, we never got them (the hotel was "fully booked"). When we arrived, we noticed there was another wedding happening at the hotel on the same day. I assume I wasn't told, because they booked after I asked about this? No biggie. This issue was there were also 5 other brides and their room blocks at the same hotel, with WAY more people staying in each room block. I wish the hotel would have given priority to my wedding over these other bridal parties, whos weddings were not at the hotel, or I wish they could have done something to allow for more accommodation for my guests that weekend. On top of this, there was also a large conference in town. The hotel was way over booked that weekend, and with it being one of the biggest weekends since Covid, we felt like they weren't prepared. Our entrance to the wedding reception, we had to walk through a large social for the conference. The staff made a nice walk way for us and everyone from the conference was cheering, so that was fun, but definitely shocked me as the bride. On top of these, there were a few mishaps along the way, but the coordinator took care of us, and we were compensated. There were a few things leading up to the event, that we were also very fortunate for the hotel and staff. They let us store decor the day before the wedding, so we werent shuffling it around all day, they gave us a ready room for the guys, they even gave us the greatest Kids corner for our wedding - seriously people are still raving about it! All and all, our wedding was great, and we would highly recommend HR!
The Hotel Roanoke was the perfect venue to host our wedding. Every single detail was taken care of with the highest level of professionalism. Linwood was so fast to respond to every email and concern I had throughout the entire process. We had 38 nights booked in our room block and it was so convenient to have all of our guests in the hotel with us. The food was incredible, the wait staff was amazing, and the set up was gorgeous. We are so happy with our venue choice and couldn't have asked for a more perfect day.
Hotel Roanoke provided great service for me and my guests as we stayed at the Hotel Roanoke for my wedding! Everything was lovely from room service to handing out guest bags.
Hotel Roanoke was amazing! From the second we booked the staff was amazing. From the food to the bar tenders and Janet the event planner. I highly recommend the venue as it made my special day the absolute best
Lauren and Janet were very knowledgeable and helpful in handling all the details surrounding our wedding. Our reception ended up with around 150 people and the time from engagement to wedding was less than 4 months. Even with such a short time, they helped with every detail to make sure it turned out perfect! The food was delicious and the atmosphere was just what we were looking for. I would highly recommend!
Hotel Roanoke was the perfect venue for our wedding reception. From the very beginning of planning up to the actual day of, everyone on the hotel staff (especially Director of Catering, Lauren Walker) was beyond helpful and delight to work with. Lauren went above and beyond helping us decide our menu, timeline, placement of everything in the Crystal Ballroom, coordination with all vendors, morning-after breakfast in the Pocahontas Room, and so many more details. She was extremely responsive to all of our (many!) questions and was a sense of calm throughout the often stressful planning process. I really can't say enough about how great Lauren and the whole experience was. Our reception went off without a hitch and was everything we had hoped for, and more! I highly recommend Hotel Roanoke as a wedding venue! We look forward to spending our first anniversary there :)
Our wedding at The Hotel Roanoke was amazing. The staff was always accommodating and always made us feel special about our wedding day. We were able to host many out-of-town guests easily and there was a wide array of locations in the hotel where we could have unique experiences. The food for our rehearsal dinner, cocktail hour, reception and brunch were amazing! I can't say enough about the entire experience. I would definitely recommend having your wedding at the hotel, especially if you want convenience and ease on your special day!
Delightful venue. From the time we booked the Crystal Ballroom through the day of the wedding, Hotel Roanoke staff was supportive and responsive, promptly returning calls and emails, and assisting with planning details. The "tasting" for the chosen menu was such fun and the Chef and Catering Director had some great ideas for our Southern theme. The food was well presented and delicious. Many guests stayed at the Hotel and enjoyed the proximity to the downtown market area. All in all, a wonderful experience!
Fabulous venue! My husband and I live in Knoxville, TN and were married in Roanoke, VA April 16, 2016. Planning a wedding from afar can definitely be a stressful task however Lauren Walker and her team at the Hotel Roanoke made sure our wedding reception went as smoothly as possible. Lauren helped to draw out the timeline, room layout, menu, coordinate with our vendors and all the details in between. Our day was perfect, the hotel was gorgeous and it is a day we will never forget! Thanks again to the Hotel Roanoke for being part of our big day!
My son and his bride had their wedding at the Hotel Roanoke in September. It is a wonderful venue and having the ceremony and reception in one location is so convenient! The staff , especially Lauren Walker our event coordinator, is great and very attentive. The Garden Courtyard was a beautiful area for the wedding and the Crystal Ballroom can't be beat for a reception! Anyone planning a wedding and/or reception in the Roanoke area should definitely look at the Hotel Roanoke!
We held our Wedding at the Hotel Roanoke. It was wonderful. My husband wanted to support a classic hotel. We certainly found that in the Hotel Roanoke, which has great charm and history. It is a beautiful and elegant hotel with lovely architecture and relaxing Southern grace. We stayed there from Thursday night to Monday morning; our wedding reception was on Saturday evening in the Shenandoah Ballroom.
The entire staff couldn't have been more accommodating from the front desk, the wait staff to housekeeping. They were all so very helpful. Our hotel wedding coordinator, Peggy Wright, was wonderful and saved the day at the last minute when I forgot an entire table of guests. She and her staff rearranged the room and contacted the florist and no one knew of my mistake. It was a flawless event!
The Executive Chef, Stephen DeMarco and his staff outdid themselves at our reception. We choose the "stations" concept so it was like having tapas. This was perfect for our guests. Everyone mingled and couldn't say enough about the presentation and variety of wonderful choices. We had Flambé of Steak Diane and Seared Faroe Island Salmon for our main entrées and they were both delicious. We had a risotto bar; mediterranean balsamic grilled and roasted vegetables station; Tomato Tortellini Martinis and my husband had to have the Classic Caesar Salad station too. There was so much more... Everything I had that night was perfect! I was very impressed. We had 80 guests.
My sister Ann treated the entire wedding party to a brunch the next morning. The food and ambiance were outstanding. My husband still wishes we could return for those eggs. How to make eggs for 65 people and be warm and delicious, now that is talent!
There are so many more details that made the entire event a wonderful experience. Our guests loved the hotel. The Bartender, Lyndsey, at The Pine Room was an expert at her craft and was a delight herself, she made the Sunday after party a hit with my relatives that flew over from Ireland, Montana, Utah and us from San Francisco.
I look forward to returning and spending a weekend just relaxing at this grand landmark and beautiful hotel. Did I mention we planned this wedding from California and it all came together so nicely? A very wonderful weekend to begin our new lives together.
My wedding at the Hotel Roanoke was just phenomenal. I worked with Peggy Wright who made me feel like a princess from the moment I met her for information all the way until my special day. Along with getting a free tasting, we also got a free night at this amazing historic hotel AND a complimentary room rental for future visits (going back for our anniversary). All the guests commented on how elegant and beautiful the venue was. The Crystal Ballroom (where our reception was held) was set perfectly and the room itself is just gorgeous!
The reception was gorgeous, the food was INCREDIBLE! The ceremony space and guest rooms were very nice!
We hosted our wedding ceremony and reception at Hotel Roanoke, and I'm so pleased to say that everything went perfectly. They pay attention to all of the details that I worried about. I know that they've done this a million times before, and that definitely means they've got everything in order. It was fantastic and I'd highly recommend Hotel Roanoke for reception venue.
