The Inn on Pamlico Sound was our first and only choice. The level of service we received throughout the planning process and on the wedding day was exceptional. Even though we had a small party, Meredith and her team provided us with the full complement of support. I highly recommend taking advantage of their wedding planning weekends; planning from afar, this weekend allowed us to connect in person with their recommended vendors and made me even more comfortable with how everything would go on our big day. Fast forward to the wedding weekend—we were able to host a wonderful “rehearsal” dinner with our friends. Our memories of the delicious food at Café Pamlico were not only reinforced but elevated. The food was superb, and the Café’s service staff went above and beyond to make the meal memorable. The day of our wedding brought an unexpected challenge. We knew that February weather could be unpredictable and had hoped for an outdoor ceremony. That morning, it became clear that an outdoor wedding was unlikely. The team at the Inn quickly adapted, arranging for us to marry indoors. You never would have known that this was not the original plan, and we still enjoyed breathtaking views of the Pamlico Sound. Our wedding dinner was incredible—from appetizers to custom main courses, everyone in our party raved about the meal. The staff even arranged customized menus and a decadent wedding cake. The best part is that now we have a special place to return to every year for our anniversary. Thank you, Inn on Pamlico Sound and Café Pamlico.

beach was a no brainer. We instantly fell in love with the Inn when we went there for dinner prior to securing the venue. The staff is incredibly friendly-- they truly go above and beyond to ensure that your time there is the absolute best. Booking your wedding there means you get to work with their amazing Event Coordinator, Meredith Harris, who is truly incredible at her job! She is so easy to talk to, makes your feel at home when you are at the Inn and makes the wedding planning process so seamless. Every guest at our wedding was so impressed by the staff at the Inn and told me that it was their favorite wedding they had ever been to! I believe that is truly because of the staff, the incredible location and the amazing food. I always thought it was cliché when people said their wedding day was perfect and felt like a dream but the staff at the Inn made this concept a reality. Thank you so much :)

single detail. We just showed up, rehearsed, ate good food, and partied! The same thing happened on my wedding day. We got ready in the theater room while the coordinator and the staff put together my dream reception area. Again, all I had to think about was hair and makeup. Everything unfolded smoothly and beautifully. The sound was the perfect backdrop- it couldn't have been any prettier. The food at our wedding- FOUR COURSES- was some of the best food I, and our families, had ever had. Everyone was raving about it. At the end of the night, they wrapped up everything for us (food, flowers, decor that we brought) so that we could easily load it into our car and leave for the night. I am so glad we chose the Inn as the place for our special day. They told us, the day we booked, that once we have entrusted them with our wedding- we wouldn't have to worry about a thing. They fulfilled their promise. We can't wait to go back and make more memories. The entire staff is so genuinely nice and happy for you, and so accommodating- we saw the same staff rotating the entire time we were there and they are great people treated like family by the owner. Sidenote- Steve, the owner, is such a beautiful soul, and Meredith, their event planner (included with the wedding package!), is an angel! All of this and I didn't even mention how beautiful their view of the sound is! Every guest was asking how we found it because they were just as in love as we were. t. Everything was perfect from the minute we arrived until the minute we left. We were so happy to share this incredibly special place with all of our friends and family. The venue: IOPS as a wedding venue is pure magic. The views from the point where our ceremony was held and walking down the "aisle" on a dock, led to some of the most stunning photos. The clear top tented deck as a dance floor was picturesque and so unique. We were lucky to have fantastic weather, and sunsets on the sound are unmatched. We could not have asked for a more beautiful backdrop for our wedding. I cannot say enough about the beauty of this place, you just have to see it for yourself. The rooms: Gorgeous, charming, and comfortable. We took over the entire Inn for the wedding and I 100% recommend doing the wedding weekend package so you can have the place to yourself! We stayed in the Jasmine room that also served as the bridal suite where we all got ready. Everyone loved their rooms, and the views from the windows and balconies are stunning. The food: This was hands down THE BEST food I have ever had at a wedding. We had offered filet, crab cakes, and caprese chicken and our guests RAVED about the food. We also had several complicated allergies that the kitchen staff handled perfectly. The dinner service moved quickly for the size wedding we had and everyone left full and happy. The cocktail hour and welcome party appetizers were phenomenal and they created the most beautiful charcutterie board I've ever seen. Our hosted rehearsal dinner that had a shrimp and grits bar had everyone talking. Cafe Pamlico also serves some of the best breakfast food I've ever had and it’s included in your stay! The staff: If nothing else in this review convinced you to have your wedding here, or even to visit IOPS, let this be the thing that does it. The staff here were all some of the kindest and most hard working people I've ever met. We worked closely with Meredith, our wedding planner and day-of-coordinator, and I was blown away by her professionalism and responsiveness. She made planning this entire wedding all the way from Florida absolutely seamless. The day of the wedding, Meredith was on it the entire time, and everything went flawlessly. The wait staff and bar staff was excellent and really seemed to enjoy what they do. They worked tirelessly the day of the rehearsal dinner and the wedding to set everything up and it turned out better than I could have even imagined. The bar line moved quickly and no one was spending half the night waiting for drinks. The staff really enjoyed our event with us and we were so honored to have them be a part of our day. They are genuinely wonderful people and a true testament to the charm and hospitality of the outer banks. Lastly, Steve Nelson, the owner, was incredible. He was always there when we needed anything and helped make the whole weekend go perfectly. He has created pure magic in this little Inn and we just could not be happier with how everything went. ere, we lived out of state, and though given opportunities by The Inn, we did not get to visit or see anything beforehand, so rest assured if you’re in the same position that what you see is what you’ll get, and do not stress about the food, because it’s amazing and our guests all said it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had. The staff are all polite, laid back, and were easy to work with. They did a great job setting up all of the decor and their vendor list is great!

Even despite the crazy wind on the day (thankfully the rain held off), we had the wedding we dreamed of. But honestly, special mention needs to go to the food. It was one of the best meals we've ever eaten (no lie!!), and all the guests apparently felt the same (they won't stop talking about the food!). We cannot recommend the Inn of Pamlico Sound enough.

We worked closely with Meredith to coordinate everything. She was able to do this over the phone or, as we chose, to do an in person visit. She helped to bring my vision to life and everything was perfect. Anytime we had a question, Meredith and staff were right there ready to help. Of course being on the beach, weather can be tricky, but we were assured there were indoor options if Mother Nature did not corporate. We were lucky enough to have a break in stormy weather and did not need to move indoors. The food was delicious too! The Inn offers a wide variety of options to choose from; you and your guests will be very pleased and full. I can not recommend The Inn on Pamlico Sound enough. Put your trust in Meredith and Steve and you will not be disappointed. Once I get our pictures back from our photographer, I will add some.

s fabulous! Every piece of the entire process was smooth and easy due to her. She was on top of what I needed to do and by when, and always available for a call when needed. AND when a tropical storm hit very suddenly the weekend of our wedding, she handled everything amazingly. She kept in contact with vendors and was quick to develop plan A, B, and C with us. While of course I was stressed due to weather, I can't IMAGINE how much more stressed I would have been without her. Our day would not have gone so well if it were not for her. In addition, the staff in general... Every single person that we interacted with was just amazing. They work so hard to make it feel homey and make you feel so welcomed. All my guests were commenting on it. Lastly the facilities, food, etc. The food choices available for rehearsal dinner and wedding were amazing, and the breakfast included with your stay is hands down the best breakfast of any hotel I've been to. The inn is stunning, the view of the water, the greenery, the homey feel of the rooms. We ended up having to take down the tent over the deck for the reception due to the weather, and had the ceremony on the deck rather than the lawn by the water as it was a bit flooded and the reception was done on their permanent covered deck, but even with the adaptations it still ended up being beautiful. And a big reason I had picked the Inn over other OBX locations was because of the backup options available as weather can go south quick. Another plus is the decor they have available. While I did buy/rent some, I really didn't have to get much as they have so much available, and all I had to do was list out what I wanted (for a small extra charge that is so so worth it). This is already a long review, but I could honestly keep going forever singing their praises. Thank you to everyone at the Inn, yall are the best!

Meredith, the bar and event manager, was exceptional to work with. She was easy to communicate with and helped us through every step (and we had many questions). We had to move our wedding a day early because of an impending hurricane. Meredith provided lots of solutions to the inclement weather and helped us coordinate the other vendors. Even calling some vendors herself! She helped everything stay calm, cool, and collected on the wedding day. The venue was perfect and has beautiful sunsets even on cloudy days. It is great for small and medium sized weddings. The food was also exceptional. The Boursin cheese mashed potatoes are to die for. You really could not ask for a more beautiful or easy place to work with on Hatteras Island then The Inn on Pamlico Sound.

The restaurant offered a totally personalized menu selection and catered the best food we have ever had at any wedding and several guests went out of their way to tell us this as well. Views from the venue were beautiful, especially at sunset and made for great pictures. We absolutely recommend this venue to anyone considering an Outer Banks wedding!

Our families and friends continue to rave about the beauty of the venue, the landscape, the kindness and thoroughness of the staff, the supreme quality of the food and the overall unique nature of such a truly memorable weekend. Just some of the things our family and friends have said: “I have never seen a wedding like that before!” “That was the best wedding food ever!” “I can’t believe you had such great weather in Nov!” This phenomenal team they have assembled feels like a family in the way they ebb and flow together and have each other’s backs— all with the singular focus of making a memorable, magical day come to life for their guests. We gave this great team numerous challenges and they rose to the occasion time and time again. First, we had only about 4.5 months from when we selected the venue to the big day. Our wedding was in late Nov (the weekend before Thanksgiving) and we wanted to do it outside right along the water, so we need contingency plans in case of weather (though the weather ended up being gorgeous!) We wanted a mic’d ceremony so everyone could hear, 2 separate live musicians, as well as a DJ for the reception. We used a combination of local and remote vendors who all needed to collaborate closely to ensure everything went off without a hitch. Everything came together perfectly and we could not have asked for more. Each of these team members is a consummate professional who remained poised, calm and confident… even in face of a rather short turnaround wedding such as ours: -Meredith was detailed, precise, kind and a calming presence who inspired confidence every step along the way. -Melissa was incredibly welcoming and patient in helping us accommodate guests coming everywhere from San Francisco, to Salt Lake, to Madrid, to Baltimore… -Dallas was not only a culinary artist, but one of the friendliest, most helpful people you could ever hope to meet. -And Steve, Natasha and the entire team ensured that IOPS lived up to the promise top to bottom. And then some. - We also selected several of their preferred vendors, all of whom knit perfectly right into the fabric of this well orchestrated weekend. We booked the “wedding weekend” package in order to reserve the entire Inn for our guests, a tremendous value that enabled us to also hire amazing photographers & videographers to help capture the entire wedding day. We could not recommend this venue more. An absolute gem. If you are “considering” The Inn on Pamlico Sound for your wedding, I invite you to ask them for my direct number and I will not let you off the phone until you are convinced this is the only place for you! :-) Literally if a unicorn had flown across the sky behind us during the ceremony I don’t think it would have been any more magical than what transpired. They took care of set up and tear down, included tablecloths, napkins, and dinnerware, and if you have a small enough wedding, you have the option of having personalized menus made and guests can order their meals the day of instead pre-ordering. They also set up a "book nook" for the kids which I didn't even know they were going to do till I walked down and saw it. It was seriously so perfect because we had a book themed wedding. They 100% went above and beyond anything I ever could've expected, and, for a wedding, it was downright cheap. I also stayed here December 2021. The room was great, very spacious and comfortable. Breakfast is included and just amazing (there is a $5 charge per meal but it is graditutity for the server). One day, I got a Lox bagel and the other I got chicken and waffle. Seriously to die for. There's also a little theater with tons of movies you can watch for free and free outdoors equipment to borrow (kayaks, bikes, etc). I've also had dinner here October 2021with my now husband. Everything we've eaten here has been so good. I think it was around $100, maybe a little more, for both of us and we got an appetizer, lamb and duck, and dessert. Overall, this is one of my favorite places in OBX. Amazing staff, amazing food, fantastic scenery, and great prices. I highly recommend!

r did not do what I needed or expected (typical Hatteras) but they blew my expectations out of the water regardless. Everyone was so dedicated and friendly. We are from PA, planning this event from about 500 miles away seemed intense, our coordinator Meredith went above and beyond and I had absolutely no worries about anything. This included decorations, seating, all the way down to who needed to be where at what time. There was continuous communication for months leading up to the event. They made me feel like the most special human on earth during the event. The food was indescribable. I sampled a taste of everyone’s entree and I could not pick my favorite, it is easiest the best food I have ever tasted. There is not enough good things I can say about the Inn and the people here. I would have an event here time and time again with no hesitation or worry. They also provided me with their outside vendor list and every single person that I met and worked with on the list also exceeded expectations! A huge thank you to the owner and all of the amazing people at the Inn!

Despite needing to make their own preparations for a major storm, Steve and the rest of the Inn’s team made us feel comfortable, reassured us we would have the wedding we wanted, and immediately got to work to find us an open date the following spring. It’s hard to understate how accommodating everyone was during what was a hard time for us emotionally, especially in the face of a major storm that was threatening their livelihoods. Unfortunately, the following year held more difficulties in store, as the pandemic had begun and it would ultimately be unsafe to have our wedding on our rescheduled date. Despite having already given us so much leeway in rescheduling our wedding, they were so dedicated to us having our day that they once again helped us find a day the following year in hopes that it would be safer. Unfortunately, that day also came and went with Covid still being a major concern, but the inn never gave it a second thought, once again finding us a perfect day the following year. Fast forward to 2022, and the months leading to our wedding could not have gone more smoothly. Meredith and the event team helped us through some stressful points in our planning, taking the reins when we’d become indecisive, and offering us ideas for the ceremony we’d not yet thought of. Through the entire process, she made everything digestible even when we’d procrastinated, and made sure at no point we felt overwhelmed. Melissa, the hotel manager, was patient and accommodating with us through all our various changes in room assignments, of which there were many because my wife and I are both horrifically disorganized on our best day. She somehow managed to navigate our chaos without any difficulty, which is a feat in and of itself. The weekend of our wedding was everything we wanted it to be in every single way. Our guests (not to mention the two of us) were extremely impressed by the gorgeous rooms, the amazing food, and the incredibly kind and welcoming staff. Melissa was once again amazing in fielding everything our guests could have needed. Meredith made sure that once it came time for us to have our wedding, our entire experience was stress free (as much as a wedding can be) and we could focus on just enjoying one another and our loved ones. The food was incredible, the atmosphere was second to none, and the staff was some of the most warm people we’ve ever encountered. The inn went above and beyond for us in every way possible, and worked hard for us across years of planning and rescheduling to make sure we had amazing memories of our wonderful day. It's a convenient location close to our favorite OBX attractions. We'll be back again and again! Cafe Pamlico guided us through every step of the way with example menus, willingness to incorporate our asks, and finding vendors to fulfill our unique dessert and drink requests. The food was great and as we rented out the full Inn for the wedding weekend, we were able to keep our leftovers from the welcome party and drinks in the community fridges and have them throughout the weekend. Our guests couldn't stop raving about how great the food was, including the brunch! As self-proclaimed foodies, we couldn't have been happier with the outcome. When we visit OBX we look forward to continuing to dine at Cafe Pamlico and enjoy the top notch food, often sourced locally, and the incredible view.

They also give constant updates to your invoice so you know exactly what to expect financially when all is said and done. We would highly recommend the Cafe Pamlico. A full breakfast is included in your stay. Usually, a breakfast is just mediocre at best but not here. It was excellent. We also had dinner as a group and then after our vow renewal. The quality and service was outstanding. I've never had a better meal in my 40 plus years of visiting the Outer Banks. The weather changed and we requested to move our ceremony to a different location on the property and it was absolutely no problem. Our event coordinator, Meredith Harris was unbelievable. From the planning to the day of, our every need was met and no detail was too small. The vendor recommendations were excellent as well. All of the staff from front desk to housekeeping are phenomenal. Steve Nelson, the owner and his staff have perfected the art of Customer Service. The change in weather was not in their control but I guarantee if they could have changed it, they would. Yes, that's how good they are. Do not hesitate to book your wedding or event at The Inn. You will not be disappointed.

ID; but we knew we wanted to celebrate with friends and family. After extensive research, we found IOPS and were in awe by the reviews on their website and the Weekend Wedding Package they provided. This package is 100% a stress free way to celebrate a wedding with your friends and family, for an entire weekend! From the beginning, Steve (the owner) was thorough in all of his information, and my Event Planner Meredith was communicative and involved in every fashion. Steve was up front with the costs, what all was included, and you could truly tell how much the Inn really meant to him and his team. Steve's team, to name a few, Melissa, Tasha, Hunter, Alicia, Craig, Dallas, Andy, another Melissa, and most of all, Meredith, were ABOVE AND BEYOND when it came to accommodating all of our needs! Melissa and Alicia took care of all of the room bookings, the itineraries, payments, and even handled all last minute room changes at ease. Hunter, Tasha, Craig, and Dallas by far exceeded all expectations when it came to the food, cleaning, supplies, bar, and all other Inn needs for my family and I. And I cannot forget to mention their on sight Café has THE BEST food for breakfast and dinner. Our wedding meal received countless adulations about the Hereford Filet and Seafood Trio. Also, The Inn not only celebrated our wedding with us, but ALSO our sons Baptism! When I tell you they 100% accommodated us, I mean they bent over backwards and answered every need I had regardless of whether I gave them 10 days notice, or 10 minutes notice! We even had to move things around last minute due to weather, and AGAIN, the team moved swiftly and at ease and made the entire weekend one for the books! I cannot thank the team ENOUGH for making our weekend THE MOST spectacular weekend ever! If I could do it all over again, I would do it exactly the same and play it on repeat about 8 times because it was that amazing! We were originally supposed to tie the knot in 2020 but thanks to COVID we decided to postpone to 2021, Steve and Melissa made the process of rescheduling very easy. It is hard to put it all into words but the process from start to finish was easier than I could have imagined, from the time I stepped foot on the property I knew it was where I wanted to get married and after sitting down at breakfast with Steve to discuss details I was sold. From the very beginning the process of how to get everything setup for our wedding was very clear, they have a great template to work off of to keep track of everything from rehearsal dinner to budget. Working Melissa the whole time was great and even better over the course of the weekend, she accommodated all of our requests and even listened to a lot of our complaints and for that I can’t thank her enough. When we arrived for the weekend we had to do very minimal work to get ready for the event, basically just went over a few small details with Melissa and the staff at the Inn took care of the rest. From the time we checked in to the time we checked out everything went as smooth as I could have imagined, dinners for both the rehearsal and the reception were fantastic (which you would expect after trying the restaurant). Our ceremony and everything in between went off without a hitch, Melissa made sure to keep us on track and to get the guests to where they needed to be. I don’t know what more I can say, everything went perfect and I often find myself day dreaming of sitting by the fire in one of those Adirondack chairs on the beach taking in the amazing sunset while listening to the water. If you are considering getting married at the Inn I would highly recommend the wedding weekend, I don’t think there is another scenario in my head I could come up with that would have been better especially for the price! Everything you could ever want for a destination wedding is literally in one place and to make it even better the ocean and all the beauty of the Outer Banks is right down the street. I can’t say thank you enough to Steve, Melissa, and the rest of the staff at the Inn and I would also like to give a special shout out to Dallas…what a pleasure it was to have him around during our weekend, he went out of his way to introduce himself while coming in for one of his shifts and he was always there smiling, asking how we were doing, and if there was anything else he could do.

ding planning process took a lot of the stress out of the planning process. And the reception was spectacular! The Inn worked seamlessly with our other vendors (cake, florist, photographer, tent rental, DJ) and the food from the Inn's kitchen was outstanding. Our guests were charmed by the location and enchanted by the views over the sound. The vibe was relaxed, rustic, elegant and fun, with lots of personal touches -- just what the bride and groom were hoping for. Melissa, the owner, and all the staff made our daughter's special day truly magical.

et lucky enough with the weather to have a stunning sunset, the evening was beautiful. It was our luck to have a choice of location (indoors or out) and nice enough to have the deck for our table. Meredith and the staff really went above and beyond that evening, right down to bringing us sparklers and struggling to light a bonfire! The cocktails and food were excellent. I'd say that generally, the team was also responsive, but I think you have to be aware that the outer banks are just more chill - sometimes, responses take longer (not just the inn but vendors generally). But I realized that I just had to trust that it would all come together, and it did - beautifully. I look forward to celebrating future anniversaries there - maybe even with sunsets.

earsal dinner at the wedding was great we had a taco theme. The wedding itself ran pretty smoothly and they were proactive with moving things around since there was some rain. The employees made my guests feel attended to. The food was delicious we had crab cakes and steak. I would recommend this venue to anyone. We will be visiting yearly and really appreciate everyone there!
