Several expressed that this was the best wedding they had been to and the Kensington was an integral part of this. The courtyard was beautiful, the food wonderful, the accomodations very comfortable. I would highly recommend you use the Kensington for your venue if you want a beautiful, easy, wonderful venue!

ere was extremely convenient for us and our guests - nobody had to drive from getting ready, to the ceremony, to the reception, and then to a hotel, because everything was in one place! On our end, especially since they served food from the restaurant attached to the building, it saved us from talking to and paying several different vendors (venue, transportation, catering, table rental, bar, hotel block, etc) and I only had to talk to one person through the whole process. Leah, the events coordinator, was so incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. I had about a million things to ask her every week for a year, and she is a saint for helping me as much as she did. She worked together with my day-of coordinator for the rehearsal and the wedding, and everything went so incredibly smooth thanks to her attention to detail and the fact that she's a total rockstar. I'm so glad that I chose this venue and you will be too!

ally loved the beautiful woodwork and decor in the hallway leading to the ballroom and in the attached lobby. Even better than the decor, were the people who made it such a special day. Leah, the social/catering manager was exceptional at bringing everything together. She went above and beyond to make the day exactly what the bride had envisioned. She was kind and enthusiastic about our ideas, and added some great suggestions of her own. Likewise, the rest of the staff could not have been nicer. From the staff at the front desk, the staff who helped set up, to the chef and servers, everyone treated us well. The food (we chose buffet option with carving station) and hors d'oeuvres were wonderful. We also chose a late night pizza option for 10:30 pm which all of the guests appreciated. We can highly recommend The Kensington for your wedding and /or reception.

I have so many examples of the great service, but here are two that come to mind quickly: We were supposed to have our ceremony indoor due to rain and we were so upset because the outdoor courtyard is stunning. We decorated the indoor ceremony space and had it ready to go. 2 hours before our ceremony was to start, the sun came out. We called Leah and she and her staff moved all of our decorations and chairs outside so that we could have the outdoor ceremony that we dreamed of! Also, The Kensington Hotel made it very clear that they are open to our suggestion and are happy to work with us on anything we want. We threw out the idea of a Chick-Fil-A inspired late night snack and they nailed it! The sandwiches, tenders, and fries were so good. They even had Chick-Fil-A sauce bottles for our guests to use!

The lobby & ballroom were perfect for the Cocktail hour & Reception. The food was very delicious! The staff was amazing & very accommodating. Leah was awesome & worked with us every step of the way, I would say that from the first time I met her I knew I wanted to work with her.

Everyone was telling me that something always goes wrong on your wedding day and you need to just roll with it, but to be honest, not a single thing went wrong - mostly because of the dedication to the Kensington Staff! I cannot recommend this hotel and venue enough!!

our wedding day (not everything can go exactly to plan right?!) and Leah was right there helping us work them out in no time! The food and drinks were fantastic. We were able to completely personalize the ballroom and plan the evening exactly how we wanted it to go. We had family and friends staying at the hotel too so it was a nice, simple, 1-venue wedding for everyone. We are still getting genuine compliments from family and friends about how well planned out the evening was. Everyone had a blast and I was able to enjoy my day knowing Leah had my back!

all very easy to work with, very accommodating, and really helped my vision come to life for the reception! She has a wonderful eye for detail and the hotel is just beautiful! The food was great, and we were also able to have our rehearsal dinner there the night before. The service from the hotel staff was also amazing!!! They made sure we had everything we needed and I could not have been more impressed. The only thing that didn't go as planned at the reception, was our champaign glasses were empty when we sat down, so we had nothing to toast with, which was odd, but considering the amount of detail and work that went into it, it wasn't that big of a deal! We were so impressed with how modern, clean, and accommodating the Kensington was from the very start. What we loved the most was how much they offer in even their most basic package, from the food, alcohol, and decor to the Blue Room, Board Room, and wedding night suite, everything was so convenient and made us feel so at ease! Leah made the whole process so easy, answered all of our questions, and was great to correspond with in the months and days leading up to our wedding day. Our guests could not say enough good things about their stay at the hotel, and the convenience of having a reception in the same location as where our guests were staying made a huge difference! Leah made herself completely available all weekend to answer questions and accommodate anything we asked of her, even the night before our wedding. On our actual wedding day, everything exceeded our wildest dreams. Leah took me to sneak a peek at our reception before leaving for the ceremony and I was brought to tears with how beautiful everything was. For the entire night, the Kensington team was INCREDIBLE. They were unbelievably kind, went out of their ways to do anything we asked, and had the best service. Thank you to Leah and the whole Kensington team for making our wedding day dreams come true.

We met with Leah R, who ended up being our coordinator throughout the wedding planning process. We couldn't have dreamed of someone better. She is wonderfully kind and excellent at her job. She wouldn't stop until my husband and I were relaxed and completely satisfied. The hotel itself is beautiful, clean, and modern. I felt a lot of pride that our guests got to stay in such a place. They were surprised by complimentary glasses of champagne upon check-in. The courtyard was a beautiful space for our ceremony - we didn't even add any decorations or flowers to it. The food was delicious and we were given a complimentary bridal suite with a jacuzzi tub, champagne, and chocolate covered strawberries on our wedding night. The hotel also features a deck area with a firepit and we got lucky enough to be there for a s'mores night. Overall, the Kensington and Leah helped us bring our dream wedding to life. We are so grateful!!

4 months... they were extremely accommodating with all of our requests. I live 2 hours away so much of the coordination happened over the phone (*documentation was key). Everyone dropped what they were doing if I unexpectedly popped in bc I was in town. Day of the wedding coordinator was amazing- no stress on me! It was perfect! The tasting food was delicious, and the day of food was not as good, but was fine. We went with their cookies (over having a cake) & they were a huge hit with the guests. I would absolutely recommend this venue to any bride interested in an outdoor venue & reception in the same spot. It's super convenient to the highway, mall (for the last minute emergency pants exchange of the groom) and Uofm/downtown.

ceremony space in the courtyard was absolutely beautiful and exceeded my expectations. There was a mix up regarding the food ordered for dinner, but management was receptive and worked with us to determine a fair solution. Overall, I would recommend this venue for your wedding.

the entire planning & day of. We did a smaller, more intimate wedding with about 70 guests held in the Library. Just a ceremony, intimate, plated dinner (which was sooo good, all of our guests raved about it) & open bar. Everything was beautiful, it was the best day of our lives ❤️

through every part of planning our venue, food, bar, decor, guest rooms, and coordination of vendors. During the big day, she assisted behind the scenes and kept the day running smoothly. Through every step of the planning process, she was helpful, encouraging, thorough, and kind. The venue was beautiful, the food was phenomenal, and the staff were friendly. The chocolate fountain was a hit. The courtyard was the perfect fit for our ceremony space, and made transitioning to the reception convenient. All of our guests had nothing but positive things to say about the event. Much of that was due to the venue, food, and the Candice's help in executing our perfect day.

art to finish, Candice and the whole staff performed perfectly and we couldn't have imagined it any better. They set everything up for us, as well as took it all down, and kept everything so organized when we picked up all of our decorations (we had a ton!). The venue itself was fabulous, we had 215 guests and we fit very comfortably in their grand ballroom. The food, which they provide from their restaurant, was AMAZING. The day of the wedding, and even after, people were coming up to us to tell us that the food was best best food they've had at a wedding. Most of our guests stayed at the Kensington and had nothing but nice things to say about the newly renovated rooms. They even had a special room for the wedding party to wait in before entering the ballroom after getting back from pictures, and allowed us to keep belongings in the room and gave us a key. It was the small details like that, that showed us that they pay attention to detail and really care. They truly made the whole experience so enjoyable even with all the stresses of wedding planning and we cannot be more grateful for the hard work they put into making our day the best and most beautiful day!

She made sure everything was exactly the way we wanted it and we didn't have to do anything, she took care of everything. Every other staff person that we worked with was super accommodating as well, they all went above and beyond anything that we could have ever hoped for! Our guests were even making comments about how great they were. Also really important, the food was AMAZING! Best food I have ever had at a wedding, and I am not just saying that. I was a little worried about having salmon on a buffet, but everyone was saying that it was perfect. The late night snacks were great too! The mac and cheese bar tasted great and was a big hit! I could go on forever with how much we truly enjoyed our experience with Kensington and would recommend them to anyone!

s very helpful and pleasant. She helped us with everything and even recommended our photographer! They remodeled the ball room and it is gorgeous, the cocktail area is fabulous too. We felt the prices here were more affordable than comparable vendors we saw in the area. They threw in a lot of extras that most places charge for. The hotel itself is very nice and our guests loved it! The staff did EVERYTHING for us! We literally dropped off boxes of decorations and told them to set them up however they wanted- they even added their own decorations- it was prefect! And can I mention the food was amazing!!!! I had guests tell me it was the best chicken they ever had. Ramone, the banquet manager was there all day and night and made sure everything ran smoothly. Erica, the day of coordinator was there all day and night as well and she even occupied my 3 year old nephew so his parents could enjoy themselves! We didn't have to worry about one thing!! Another bonus- the wedding ended at midnight and the hotel restaurant "relish" stayed open just for our after party! Oh! And brunch was INCLUDED for all our hotel guests in the private ballroom the next morning! Ok one more thing!! Our suite was included as well and it was gorgeous, they left champagne and chocolate covered strawberries in our room! I obviously can't say enough good things about this place, you will not regret booking your wedding here!! Thank you to the all of the staff for making our special day everything we could have asked for!!

They reserved hotel rooms at a lowered rate for guests who wanted to stay the night and set up a beautiful brunch the following morning. er had (and we had several guests say the same thing) and their coffee is my absolute favorite coffee in the world (seems like a non important thing in the grand scheme of a wedding, but trust me...their coffee is amazing!). We had our wedding in the ball room and everything was absolutely perfect and beautiful, not to mention the rest of the hotel's decor is also beautiful and fit my Victorian theme perfectly! I would recommend this venue to absolutely everyone! Everything Kensington Court was in charge of for my wedding, went on without any flaws. I trust them 100% that they can pull off anything! The hotel itself has an wonderful English charm about it, right from the Chesterfield Sofas, to the marble floors, wood paneling and portraits on the wall as you wander down the hallways. The rooms were spacious, well presented and discounted at a set rate for our guests. Our reception hall had the perfect feel and size, already having upgraded us due to increasing numbers of guests - nothing ever seemed a hassle. The fitness suite, including a large pool offered an even more inviting welcome to our out of town guests. The hotel offered a full package or food and drink, even providing custom cocktails at our open bar and the food was delicious too. We opted for a buffet and were given plenty of straight forward options and add ons with no hidden extras. This allowed us to control our tastes and budget and all at reasonable prices too - it fitted the bill perfectly. When it came to the big day, we were given access to reception hall the day before in order to set up, and given the room key to the bridal suite, which came as part of the wedding package. The bride also had her own salon just around the corner from the reception in order to freshen up etc, which took a lot of pressure off and really came in handy. At no point did the evening feel tacky or corporate, the hotel provided an elegant feel that we longed for from the off. Candice was wonderful and had arranged everything exactly how we wanted it, having already gained our confidence, by remembering every last detail, delivering on time, and providing all round outstanding customer service - Nothing was ever too much or complicated - All in all, we loved our experience and would happily recommend the Kensington Court to future couples tying the knot.

Sara, our final coordinator really did everything she could and she is fabulous to work with. The venue has had some updates and the food was really great. It feels like they are in a transition of sorts and we could tell. Overall though, a great place to have a reception.

the centerpiece was complimentary. It was not cheap looking, but elegant and beautiful and the service was the best I have seen...and I am the last of 3 sisters to get married in the Ann Arbor area. I cannot say enough about the service that evening and the quality and beauty without the steep price.

My bridal party was given a special room to get ready in. We were also given a suite for the night as part of our package. The amount we paid per person was fabulous for what we recieved. The only negative time we had was that the wedding coordinators went home before our event was over. This resulted in people from the other wedding taking place crashing our bar (which we had paid extra to keep open longer) and our DJ. The other wedding was also lingering in the lobby and was harassing my bridal party as we walked by. I don't blame the hotel itself for this but I wish that the coordinators would have stayed till the end to help with this issue.

They even handled an ill guest quietly and discreetly so that no one even knew that an ambulance needed to be called, so everyone could enjoy the rest of the night. The person is ok by the way, she just got a little faint. Thank you to all the wonderful people at Kensington Court for taking such wonderful care that day!

Things you should definitely look into if you're going to use KC: - get the coffee station. it got rave reviews from all of our guests - they provided us with a complementary room for the night in their executive wing that was just great; after such an exhausting day, it was a pleasant surprise to see a bottle of champagne, chocolate covered strawberries and a hand-written note from our wedding coordinator at the end of the night. - their free options for centerpieces / table numbers and such are good quality; we looked into replacing them and ended up using a good bit of the house stuff.

he Grand Ballroom. Between ceremony time and dinner, we had hor' deurves served. Guests loved this! We also had our rehearsal dinner here. Everything flowed perfectly. Great team of employees! Food was delicious! They offer a "food tasting" event prior to the wedding. It was like going to a mini reception. Wonderful to taste the food prior to making selections. I can't say enough good things about Kensington Court and their staff. We will recommend them to everyone. In fact, I already have! Our wedding day was exactly as I have dreamed! Cost listed is our total including, rehearsal dinner, ceremony, hors' deurves, reception, decorations, wine service, even a chocolate fountain!
