My husband and I got married in the Landmark Gardens, which was Beautiful! The food at our indoor reception and the lighting package were well worth it! My husband and I loved it, and our guests seemed to enjoy it too.
My only complaint is that, due to a staff shortage, we felt like we constantly had to double check that the information the staff had given us was correct.
For example, the staff said that they would help with the wedding ceremony and tell us when to leave the building and begin walking towards the gardens. Day of, however, no one helped us. Luckily, we could see the gardens and we figured out when to start walking on our own. This may have been due to the fact that our wedding was delayed about 20-30 minutes due to rain, but isn't the unexpected what wedding coordinators are supposed to help you with? Luckily, I had some helpful friends and family wipe down the chairs and coordinate the event, even though we paid a service fee for jobs like that. Again, this was probably due to the staff shortage.
We were also disappointed that they incorrectly told us that certain items would be at the bar. This caused the chalkboard sign that I made to be wrong, and while it's a small detail, no detail goes unnoticed by the bride on her wedding day! ;)
We were told that there would be two coordinators on our wedding day. Instead, we had just one.
Shauna did a great job handling our wedding! She is a hard worker. Our wedding day was what we dreamed it would be, and these details didn't get us down! Even though some things weren't perfect, we are so happy that we went with The Landmark. Hopefully, by the time you book with them, they will have more staff.
While my wedding was wonderful and reception very fun, I did NOT have a good experience with Sheila Dean, the woman that you will work most with. I feel as if we were greatly misled in our meetings with her. From the beginning we were told that you did not pay a room rental fee, but that you simply had to meet a food and beverage minimum for your reception. We understood this to mean food and alcoholic beverages, beer and wine included. We had MANY conversations surrounding this and even added a premium keg (per her suggestion!) and thought about adding more wine to meet the minimum. When all was said and done and we got the invoice it included a $700 charge for a "room fee." When questioned, she and the manager above her, Todd Egts, said that "beverage," if you are in the food service business, means non-alcoholic beverage. They did NOTHING to make right the fact that we were misled and definitely did not follow the philosophy that the customer is always right. We paid the $700 extra and bit our tongues. She was not all that easy to communicate with either and was not proactive in contacting me to keep things moving in the planning process, I contacted her to set up every meeting. We were promised a meeting with the wedding coordinator in the package we bought which we never received. We set it up and instead of him had a meeting with Sheila. We met the actual coordinator the day before the wedding. Also we were told that we would get 5 glasses out of each bottle of wine. We ordered 15 bottles (each was $20). The bartender was a bit heavy handed (to say the least) and we maybe got 3 glasses out of each. These were not the large bottles of wine like I imagined but the normal size. Needless to say we ran out of wine very quickly. I will say, however that the event space is very nice and the food was WONDERFUL. Just not the best people to work with. I would not recommend this facility to anyone looking to stay in budget and have someone to work with you that you can trust.
They made our day everything we dreamed of and then some. So accommodating and willing to make our day go smoothly. Food is fantastic. Highly recommend if you are looking for five star service all around!
The staff at the Landmark are very easy to work with. They work with any kind of budget and are willing to help you out with anything you might need. Everyone was super friendly and the final product was beautiful! The building is very nice on its own, so it really doesn't need much to make it look beautiful. I was very, very happy with everything the Landmark did for us for our wedding day.
They were very knowledgeable. They were able to help me in every way, even though I live 3 hours away.
The Landmark was everything I was looking for in a place to have our reception. The rooms were elegant and upscale. The food was part of the cost and was excellent. Most of the staff made us feel welcome. The manager, Judy, seemed high strung, kept repeating herself and turned off a lot of our vendors. The evening turned out great despite all of this. I would reccomend the Landmark if you can put up with bossy.
we had our reception at the landmark conference and reception centre. everything was done beautifully but customer service in the several days prior was not very good and they ended up not being able to play a slideshow that i had worked hard on because of it. they were very rude to my photographer and dj as well when they tried to help get it to play! also they didnt allow any guests in early, i mean not even a minute early..so they all had to wait outside for about 30 min!!! other than that the food was great, the decor gorgeous, and you cant beat the location!!
