Cordelia and her team at The Lodge at Malibou Lake were exceptional to work with, making our wedding day truly unforgettable! The culinary experience was outstanding; guests are still talking about the miso-glazed salmon, declaring it the best they've ever had. The team was meticulously organized and accommodating, handling dietary restrictions and special requests. We were so impressed that we chose them to cater another private event, and our family regularly attends their Supper Clubs for fun. We also had a medical emergency at the beginning of the ceremony, and the team managed it with such professionalism and discretion. We are so grateful for their expertise and composure in handling unexpected situations. The Lodge is a hidden gem that combines natural beauty with exceptional service. We wholeheartedly recommend Cordelia and her all-star team to anyone seeking a remarkable venue and an unforgettable experience.
Our daughter got married at the Lodge at Malibou Lake this past October and it was the wedding of her dreams. Chef Cordelia is phenomenal and transformed the Lodge into a beautiful venue with a very cool vibe and amazing food. She has assembled a magnificent team who go above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect. A special thanks to Chef Tiffany and her team in the kitchen, and bar. So many guests commented on the food which was
absolutely delicious. The wait staff are fabulous and professional. It's a shame we only have one daughter or we'd book The Lodge again :)
We got married here earlier this month, and it was the best decision we made! From the aesthetics to the service and food, Chef Cordelia's team at the Lodge at Malibou Lake absolutely NAILED it.
We first want to give a shout out to Reagan who was our go-to contact person for any questions. She was so quick at responding to all of our emails and questions. Communication was so quick and easy with her, and she always kept us up to date in regards to what she needed from us and from our vendors.
Next we want to give a shout out to Chef Tiffany for the delicious appetizers and dinner food. Everyone was raving about the food, especially the appetizers that were passed around during our cocktail hour. Not only that, but the venue even made us a to-go box from our dinner for us to enjoy after our wedding!
With that, the day-of wedding staff, especially the servers and bartenders, was AMAZING. Everyone was pleasant and professional throughout the entire wedding. We constantly had guests come up to us after our wedding to tell us that the service was EXCEPTIONAL. Everyone was so attentive and made sure our guests were having a good time.
Lastly, the biggest thank you goes to Cordelia herself. She took the time to go over our wedding timeline and was also ALWAYS quick to respond to our questions/emails. You can truly see how much pride she takes with her Chef Cordelia team, and we really could not have asked for a better venue than The Lodge at Malibou Lake. Thank you so much for making our wedding day perfect!
We love the Lodge!! I don't have the words to describe just how grateful I am for Chef Cordelia, Chef Tiff, and the entire Lodge team.
The venue is stunning - the lawn exceeded all our dreams for getting married outside in the mountains and the indoor reception space was classy, elegant, and the perfect size for our 120 person wedding.
The food! Wow. We were very impressed with all the food we tasted at the Lodge's Supper Club and were still floored the day of the wedding with the quality and deliciousness of the food they served. Chefs Cordelia and Tiff went above and beyond to curate a delicious menu and accommodated all of our dietary restrictions without blinking.
The staff went above and beyond to make my husband and me, our family, and guests feel welcome and celebrated. I am so grateful for their professionalism and attentiveness. My sister was in awe the next day and described how they delivered the food to the tables as a dance. Our guests with dietary restrictions all told us how taken care of they felt by the staff - the servers checked in with each guest to let them know that they were aware of and accommodating their dietary restrictions.
Finally - the communication and planning! If you didn't already surmise, the team at the Lodge are absolute pros and made planning easy. We had multiple check in calls with the team to discuss logistics, food, and planning. Regan always took notes and circulated them after the meetings. I felt so taken care of throughout the entire planning process.
During and after our wedding, our guests told us that our wedding was one of the most exquisite and well executed wedding they had ever attended. This is all due to the Lodge and we are so grateful for them.
We will be fans of the Lodge for life!
My husband and I got married here Labor Day weekend of 2023. I had been to a wedding here previously but this was his first experience, when we went on a group tour.
I cannot recommend this venue enough. Cordelia is communicative, professional, accommodating and addressed all our questions. The food and drinks were excellent- our guests were very happy. The price tag and overall venue is just lovely. We would recommend to anyone looking for a place that has a warm feel with great food and good people who know how to execute successful weddings!
This has to be the easiest review I've ever written!!!
The Lodge at Malibou Lake was simply the BEST wedding decision we ever made. The property was perfect, well manicured, and serene. The staff and management team were spot on, attentive, professional, and so welcoming throughout the entire process. And lastly, the food still has our guests raving three months later!!! Chef Cordelia and her team made sure all allergies were accounted for, anytime something was running low they were quick to replace it, the drinks were incredible and overall taste and service was 100000000/10. We love The Lodge, it will forever hold a special place in our hearts!

The Lodge helped us have the most magical wedding day. It's been a dream venue of ours for several years and we were so fortunate to have everything fall into place. The Lodge is like a "hidden gem" of wedding venues. The team -Cordelia, Tiffany, etc. make sure YOU love your wedding day. My husband has a severe dairy allergy and they worked to make sure our menu was 100% dairy-free so he could enjoy all the food.
The staff is incredibly helpful and professional, the food is delicious, and the venue is GORGEOUS. Thank you for making our day so special!
My wife and I got married at The Lodge last month. It was everything we hoped for and more!
From start to finish, everything went smoothly. The supper club was a perfect way to taste the delicious food and get a feel for the venue. The venue is gorgeous--from the ballroom and getting ready rooms to the lawn where we had our ceremony. Cordelia and all the staff promptly answered all our questions and clearly had every detail planned. On the day of, all we had to think about was enjoying the day, and my wife and I and all of our guests had a blast.
We would recommend in a heartbeat to any friend or family of ours to get married at The Lodge!
There aren't enough good things I can say about The Lodge and its staff.
My wife and I were looking for a cozy, intimate venue that was a bit removed from the city, but still convenient for our guests. The Lodge ended up being the perfect fit.
From the initial tour to the wedding itself, Cordelia and her team exhibited the utmost professionalism and care to ensure we had the greatest possible wedding. We had planned on having an outdoor ceremony, but heavy rain and unseasonably cold temperatures forced us to shift everything indoors. Despite this last minute pivot, the staff was able to accommodate our needs such that the festivities went off without a hitch. At no point, did we feel the change was an inferior back-up option, and that was huge for us. And special shoutout to Chef Tiffany and her team for without hyperbole, the best wedding food and cocktails we've ever tasted!
All in all, we can't recommend The Lodge enough.
We are so thrilled we decided to go with the Lodge! We got married there on February 3, 2023, and it was an absolutely flawless day thanks to our planner, Emily Kay, and the incredible team at the Lodge.
It was the first venue we visited, and we found that every venue we visited after it, we kept comparing to the Lodge. It feels like a hidden gem in LA. We loved that the Ldoge was a turnkey venue with so many “amenities” on site. We didn’t have to worry about bringing in tables, flatware, linens, etc. Also, the fact that they provide catering as well through the chef/owner Chef Cordelia, was also a huge bonus for us. We loved that we could have an outdoor ceremony and have the reception indoors, especially in February when the evenings get cool. And we also loved that the ceremony and the reception could be at the same location, which made logistics easier. The getting ready rooms for the wedding party are very cute and well-appointed. At our first visit we were worried they might be small, but we ended up having a wedding party of 14 people, and there was plenty of space for everyone.
Everyone kept telling us that the food was amazing, and they were right! So often food can be an afterthought at a wedding, but that is not the case with the Lodge. It easily is the best food we’ve ever had at a wedding, and we had so many people coming up to us throughout the night and telling us how great the food was. Chef Cordelia was also easily able to accommodate any dietary restrictions that our guests had, even with family style service.
One of the best parts of the Lodge, is the monthly supper club they host. This is when you can do your menu tasting, and you can go as many times as you want. At the supper club, it’s basically a mini wedding reception, because they bring in a florist, a DJ, event planners, and a photographer, so you can have the experience of being a wedding guest at the Lodge. We had so much fun at Supper Club, we went twice, and we found our florist, Something’s Blooming LA, through Supper Club as well.
Leading up to our wedding, the Lodge was very easy to work with and very communicative and responsive about any questions we had. On the big day itself, everything went so smoothly, and we had no problems. All of our guests were raving about the location and how beautiful the venue was, and we are so thrilled that our friends and family enjoyed the Lodge as much as we did.
We are so pleased we chose the Lodge, the venue made all of our wedding dreams come true and we have so many fond memories we will keep thinking about for years to come!
We cannot recommend this venue enough!!! The location and team are incredible, and it was such a pleasure to work with them!!
I just had my dream wedding at the Lodge. The venue is quaint and stunning and Chef Cordelia is beyond incredible. They were attentive to all of our guests and their needs and each detail was properly taken care of. I cannot stress how amazing this venue is and could not recommend it enough.
This Lodge was my dream venue and it did not disappoint! The staff was incredible from accommodating my gluten free (chef made me my own cauliflower pizza without me saying anything). Sara and the team were great and I would highly recommend. Chef Cordelia did an amazing job creating an inviting space and hiring great people.
Details are what a wedding is all about - and when it came to the Lodge at Malibou Lake, they had the details covered. Communication with the Lodge was great throughout the entire wedding process. Our tour was guided by Chef Cordelia who walked us through the venue both indoors and out, and we were just blown away. It was the perfect size for our intended party (100 guests) with beautiful and rustic interiors and an amazing outdoor setting for the ceremony and cocktails. Where do we sign?! Within weeks, we were knee deep in the rest of the planning. At most venues, you need to rent in beautiful wooden tables and vineyard chairs, but these were all part of their package - included - as were the great chairs we used on the lawn for the ceremony. The setting is amazing with their lush gardens, tall trees and the Santa Monica Mountains perfectly set as a backdrop. The Lodge doesn’t do food tastings, but what they do is hold monthly supper club dinners where you can get a feel for the room as it will be set up for your party, enjoy a delicious dinner and a lively atmosphere. We brought my in-laws to one such party and had a great time sitting with other couples who were in the same planning stages as were we. We were so excited. Between Sarah Ledo, our on-site coordinator, and Chef Cordelia, we knew we were in good hands. But when we met Chef Tiffany, the one who was actually going to cook our dinner, we knew we’d be covered. While the Lodge has great menus, we wanted something out of the box, and Tiffany was down for the challenge. We told her that what excited us was Pork Belly - and she told us that was a little “naughty” - which we just loved. When it came to the night of our wedding, as we walked around the room, we saw that everyone there had fully cleaned their plates. She knocked it out of the park! But not only did she do that, but the entire team at the Lodge was really amazing - from the helpful man who takes care of the parking and set-up in the room, to the attentive service and bartending staff, everyone was warm, friendly and professional. One great thing about the Lodge has to be their dressing suites: a total of 3 rooms upstairs where grooms, brides and the like can all get ready prior to the ceremony. We took advantage of those rooms which also had windows so that we could see our guests as they arrived. As for photos, there are a number of awesome locations around the property for you, and while your whole wedding party can’t go to the private park and docks across the street, they did let the two of us go over there with our photographer - and the pictures taken lakeside were just amazing. We were a little worried about possible noise from the street (cars / motorcycles) during our ceremony, but that was never an issue. The giant lawn, strung with bistro lights, was the perfect spot for our ceremony - and we tucked ours away on the back side of the lawn so that most all of our guests were in shade during the entire time. Post-ceremony, everyone retreated to the front porch just outside the ballroom where we had music, cocktails and hours d’oeuvre. That space flows naturally into the ballroom, and post-dinner, we set up pizza ovens outside to serve a late-night snack. From start to finish, day 1 to the day of our wedding, we felt cared for and important to the Lodge - and this magical venue will always hold a special place in our hearts.
This is the only place to get married. It is beautiful, The food was amazing, and the staff, chef Cordelia, chef Tiffany, and Sara, the Venue manager, really made our day special. We wish we could married here again! Book this place ASAP!!
The second my partner and I toured The Lodge at Malibou Lake, we knew it was something special. Chef Cordelia and her team go above and beyond to make sure that every detail is looked after. One of the things we cared about most was guest experience and the lodge was the only place that we felt cared about this as much as we did. We went to the monthly supper club three times before our wedding and will probably continue to go after because it is so much fun to experience this venue not only as the guests of honor but a guest of the wedding. I cannot emphasize this enough, so many people kept coming up to us to say how fantastic the food was and that the venue was such a gem. The staff was so helpful and friendly and even danced with us at the end of the night. You can tell that everyone there loves what they do. If we could get married here every weekend, we would. We're obsessed. Thank you Chef Cordelia and team!!
From the moment I saw The Lodge, and met Cordelia, I knew this was the place I was going to Mary the love of my life. Not only is the yard absolutely stunning, the lights mesmerizing, the inside decor incredible and old-timey chic in every single room, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Once I met Cordelia and the rest of her crew, there was no turning back. I realized I was comparing every venue to MLL and every person to Cordelia.
Over the 18 months that I planned my wedding, Cordelia and Sara were always available. They went out of their way to provide insights, accommodate some of our desired menu items, made suggestions for other vendors, and so much more.
It has now been a month since my wedding and every single person I have talked to has shared that it is genuinely one of the best weddings they have ever been to. As much as I would love to take all of the credit, half of the reason it was so great was because of this incredible venue, the people who run it… and the food. I think we can all agree that the things that make or break a wedding are great music, great food, and an open bar am I right? Well, after two supper clubs where we got to enjoy countless menu items, and after meeting many of the lodges incredibly talented and kind bartenders (so many of my guests commented on how nice the bartenders were) I can definitively tell you that the food here tops any and all wedding food- nay, restaurant food- you have ever had. It is absolutely RIDICULOUS how good it is.
This was genuinely the most fun I, my family, and my friends have ever had. I am extremely happy to have come across MLL, if I could do it all over to experience it again, I would.
We couldn't have asked for a better wedding venue than The Lodge at Malibou Lake. From the beautiful setting, to the responsive staff, to the excellent food and service, everything was perfect.
The venue and its grounds are gorgeous. On the outside lawn, you can look up and see the Santa Monica Mountains and look across to the lake. You feel a million miles away from Los Angeles, but are only a quick drive back to the 101. Inside, the ballroom and bar area are charming and require little to no additional decorations. There are also three getting-ready rooms accessible to the wedding party.
The staff at the Lodge were incredibly easy to work with. Sara, Chef Cordelia, and Chef Tiffany worked with us on our menu and were accommodating when we wanted to do something custom or needed to make last-minute changes. The Lodge does tastings through its monthly "Supper Club" - which is a great experience separate and apart from having a wedding there and one we have recommended to our friends in the area.
On the day of the wedding, the food (as expected) was amazing and the staff kept everything running smoothly. We're only sorry that the day flew by so fast!
What a special and beautiful place to get married. Chef Cordelia, Sara, and Chef Tiffany gave us such an incredible experience and everything we could’ve asked for in a venue. And one of the highlights is absolutely the food. Let me just say, it is not your typical wedding food. Our guests could not stop talking about how good the food was, from the appetizers, to the salads, to the entrees. They were all just phenomenal and tasty. The bartenders were so nice and generous (especially on their pours). The scenery is truly beautiful, it is hard to beat the backdrop of the lake and mountains. My wife had been dreaming of having her wedding here since she discovered it about 8 years ago, and it was everything she had hoped for and more. Not enough great things can be said about The Lodge. A truly special wedding venue.
Beyond being the most beautiful venue, the staff at the Lodge are really what makes the place so magical. Chef Cordelia and her team are first class. They helped make our day run flawlessly and whipped up the best freaking wedding food on the planet (our guests can attest). Seriously, in a world where you agonize eating at a wedding, Chef Cordelia and her culinary team are serving up Michelin star-worthy dishes. They catered to all our wild ideas and blew them out of the water…such as our pickle bar, specialty cocktails, and cheesecake bar. The wait staff was extremely kind and the bartenders were everyone’s best friends. Leading up to the wedding, the Lodge was extremely responsive and organized. There’s not a single thing we’d change about our wedding day and cannot recommend this venue enough. You will surely see us at Supper Club meals in the future because we cannot get enough of this place. It’s truly one of a kind.
The Lodge at Malibou Lake is such an amazing place to get married. The Lodge is an all inclusive experience making it super easy to wedding plan when you are busy. The venue speaks for itself, so minimal additional decor/flowers are needed. The food is incredible and was stated as "the best wedding food" by several of our guests. In addition, you can use the Lodge's furniture, tables, chairs, dishware, cake/dessert trays, arch, etc. making it super easy to plan a wedding. In addition, the pricing is very reasonable for the amount that you receive. The staff and team are truly incredible and made the planning process so easy.
What an amazing experience working with the incredible team at the Lodge at Malibou Lake. Chef Cordelia, Sara and Chef Tiffany helped make our wedding dreams come true. It was truly one of the best events any of our guests had been to (and they keep telling us!!). The food was spectacular, the venue was beautiful, and they made it so easy for our Wedding Planner and of our vendors. The lake is stunning and a perfect backdrop to the best day of your life. We would highly recommend this venue and team to anyone looking to get married in the Malibu mountains.
We just had our wedding here this past weekend and we are still on a high from the amazing day that we had. When we were in the process of finding our venue, this was the first venue that we toured and we chose it right on the spot. We knew that we didn't need to look any further because this venue had EVERYTHING we could have ever asked for. Chef Cordelia is not only amazing but the food is absolutely UNREAL. My guests said it was by far the best wedding food they had ever had. One of my guests actually asked for a to-go box because it was all so good. The staff there is also incredible and sweet and made my day run so smoothly. The weather was perfect and the set-up was just amazing. The Lodge really cares about you and wants to make sure you have the best wedding. I honestly could not have asked for a perfect day. NOTHING went wrong which is highly unusual because something usually always goes wrong on a wedding day but I didn't have that experience. We are just so thankful for this amazing place and for being the venue of our dreams. I can't wait to recommend this venue to everyone I know. I promise you you will not be disappointed in having your wedding here.
If you’re looking for a classy California wedding venue, this is the ONE!!! We had our wedding in March 2022 after postponing several times due to the pandemic and Chef Cordelia and her top notch staff were so accommodating the entire time. Everyone is a pleasure to work with and our wedding day was beyond perfect and seamless. All our vendors also said the Lodge is their favorite venue which speaks volumes. We couldn’t have asked for a better day and I’m so grateful we went with the Lodge. 10/10!!
The Lodge is an amazing venue! Beautiful, charming, cool, and unique. We originally were supposed to have our wedding in April 2020 but didn't end up having it until September 2021. Chef Cordelia and her team were great to work with throughout many postponements. Cordelia is extremely organized and detail-oriented which gave me confidence that everything would go according to plan on the wedding day. Everyone said the food was the best food they'd ever had at a wedding and the service was top-notch. Our wedding was such a fun day and I know a huge part of that was because we picked the best venue.
It's all true!
The Lodge at Malibou Lake is a hidden gem. I almost wish we could have kept it all to ourselves.
It's perfectly tucked away in the hills to feel somewhere outside of Los Angeles which was a bonus for our predominantly SoCal based family.
Cordelia is the coolest. Between her chic decor and her amazing food she is the real MVP.
The wait staff is fantastic!! I thought some of these reviews were exaggerated before our wedding but our guests talked about how much they loved the servers, bartenders, the food and the location.
It's really the whole package.
As soon as we saw the Lodge, we knew it was exactly what we were looking for, and the service and value that came with it did not disappoint. The beautiful indoor & outdoor spaces, the rustic elegance that needed little to no additional decoration, and the general beauty of the Lodge were all huge draws for us. Oh, and did I mention the FOOD? Cordelia and her team -- on top of being easy to work with, friendly, and highly competent -- delivered a top-notch meal that all of our guests are still raving about (especially that butternut squash ravioli). It was hands down the best meal I've ever had at an event or wedding (and I've been to my fair share the past 5 years) and it really would not be out of place at an expensive restaurant. Another thing I loved was that pretty much all the furniture, dinnerware, etc. comes included at no additional cost, which made everything super easy for us. The overall price tag was admittedly more than we'd initially hoped to spend, but honestly, we don't regret a cent. You get an absolutely fantastic and memorable event for that amount, and it was totally worth it.
We absolutely loved working with the Lodge and Chef Cordelia! We booked the venue without actually having seen it in person (thanks covid) but couldn’t have been happier with our decision! First off, The Lodge is stunning! Such a great space for a wedding and we loved the flexibility of being able to switch to all outdoors (especially with covid) or all indoors (if weather was an issue). Thankfully both cooperated and we are able to do our indoor/outdoor plan. We loved the flow of our event, moving from the lawn for the ceremony, to the bar/patio for cocktails, and then the ballroom for dinner/dancing. The previews of the pictures we took by the lake look amazing
Cordelia and team were very easy to work with- responsive, flexible, and kind. We loved that the venue included so much, we didn’t have to get any rentals which was really nice. The food was VERY good, and not just for wedding food! We especially loved the oxtail raviolis and were so impressed by their ability to perfectly cook 100 filets.
I think the lodge provides great value for the amount you pay. I would highly recommend this venue!
Recently had our wedding here and it was just the best venue we could have asked for. Chef Cordelia worked so hard to make sure we had our dream wedding. The venue, the food, and the overall service is spectacular.
To say I'm glad we chose The Lodge as our wedding venue would be an understatement. We chose it because of the beautiful outdoor space and rustic elegant ballroom. Cordelia and Sasha were wonderful to work with and extremely accommodating on all of our personal details. On our wedding day, the space was truly magical - eating dinner under the mountains as the sun set was so special. One of our guests said it best when she said that it felt like a destination wedding, in LA.
Cordelia's food options are awesome and she worked with us to build the perfect menu for our day. The food was DELICIOUS - as so many of our guests told us.
The service day-of was impeccable - staff were friendly and attentive.
The Lodge at Malibou Lake is a dream venue! My husband and I picked the Lodge back in February 2019 because of the beautiful scenery and all-inclusive service offerings (especially the beautiful furniture and delicious catering by Chef Cordelia). Finally had our wedding day 2.5 years later on June 5, 2021 due to Covid. The Lodge was incredibly accommodating through the entire process from booking to postponing to planning to finally celebrating! The people are amazing too! Chef Cordelia and her team pulled off the PERFECT wedding for us. They remembered every detail from our final meeting. Chef Cordelia even made me feel extra special because I couldn't decide between the filet mignon or miso salmon entree so she gave me a side of miso salmon. Her food is INCREDIBLE! They even customized the menu for our lactose intolerant and gluten-free guests. Book your wedding at the Lodge!!! It will be the best day ever!
Dear Chef Cordelia, Sasha, Staff, and Bar Tenders,
Another day cannot go by without thanking you all.
Thank you for making Rebecca's and Paul's wedding dreams come true. Thank you for making the day seem so seamless. The venue was beautiful, the food was delicious and delectable, and the service was exquisite. Thank you for graciously attending all our guests and for all your hard work with everything that is behind the scenes. You are all amazing!
We could never have pulled this special event off without you and your extremely professional staff.
We look forward to you hosting our next event!
In February 2019, my fiancé (now husband) and I were completely transfixed by the lodge at Malibu lake. We had found our dream wedding venue and booked it right away for March 28th 2020. Everything about the lodge is perfect. Chef Cordelia’s food is incredible, the ballroom and bar are stunning and the outdoor scenery is so majestic, it makes you feel so far from the LA hustle and bustle.
The next 13 months went off without a hitch, they accommodated our every request and the planning process could not have gone more smoothly.
RSVP’s were in, seating chart done and we were 2 weeks from walking down the aisle when COVID-19 ruined all of my bridal dreams. Over the next year we cancelled and rescheduled the wedding 3 times and the entire time the team at the lodge did everything possible to accommodate us. They were by far our most helpful and accommodating vendor.
We are now a year later and they’re still being so gracious and accommodating. We have sadly decided to cancel our celebration for now but cannot wait to host a future event at the lodge when the time is right.
I cannot thank Chef Cordelia, Jacey, Valerie and Sasha enough for being the most incredible team of helpful and understanding women.
We stumbled upon this venue on a drive through the mountains. Who knew there was a lake up there?! When we saw the lodge, we had to stop and take a look around. We were able to get some info and quickly came back for a tour and tasting dinner, which cemented our decision to go with them. Not only is it a gorgeous venue, but the food is absolutely delicious! They have a catering company and on-site kitchen, along with a lot of their own furniture, which helps simplify the process of vendor selection and coordination. They coordinated so well with our planner, and the entire crew on the day of was so helpful and professional. We'd happily recommend the venue and team and it was such a memorable event that we will never forget!
We had our wedding at the Lodge this past February 2020 and we couldn’t have asked for a better venue for our wedding. It was everything that we wanted it to be! Historic but modern with scenic views (pictures don’t do the venue or the lake/mountains justice), excellent staff and service, and wonderful food. It even rained on our wedding day. We originally planned for the ceremony to be on the great lawn facing the lake, but moved to rain-day plan inside the ballroom about 4 hours before the ceremony. Honestly, we are so happy that it rained - the ceremony was gorgeous inside and had a very intimate feel. We had a string trio and the ballroom offered great acoustics. The team there flipped the room for the reception (a lot of work!), but they did it so quickly and every detail of setting the dinner tables was perfect.
And the food… the food was so good! Food was one area that we wanted to make sure was big part of our day. We are total foodies. We definitely ate on our wedding day! Smoked mashed potatoes..truffle mac n cheese…smoked game hens…the wedge salad was one of the best. We had received so many compliments from our guests. The service was wonderful, too. We just wish we could go back as if it were a local restaurant!
A big thank you to Cordelia and her staff for such a wonderful day - we couldn’t have been happier how everything turned out!
From start to finish, my experience with the Lodge at Malibou Lake was a dream. I searched for months for the perfect venue for our wedding and I'm so happy that I didn't settle before finding this gem. Chef Cordelia and her staff are phenomenal. So professional and kind. My goal was to keep wedding planning as simple as possible and to find a venue that featured both interior and exterior spaces AND was deliciously catered. The Lodge at Malibou Lake ticked every box.
The location is breathtaking, with views of the lake and beautifully maintained grounds. The interior spaces are designed so tastefully with warm rustic touches. When we came on the tour led by the lovely Jacey, we were sold! Not only is the location beautiful, the service is impeccable and the FOOD! OMG! The food! We went to one of the Supper Club nights that are held monthly and everything we tried was delicious. The crab cakes, the tomato basil soup with mini cheddar melts, the cod, the veggies! Everything!
The wedding planning process was made even easier when Jacey sent over a comprehensive list of preferred vendors. As a novice to wedding planning (as most brides are) I was immediately at ease when each vendor I worked with raved about the The Lodge and Chef Cordelia's team. They were right! Also, so many venues will charge for every little detail but the Lodge is was all about making things simple, with so many things included (i.e. furniture, cake-cutting, utensils, etc.)
Our wedding day was a dream and everything was flawless! The guests were amazed that we found such a perfectly suited venue that was so warm, inviting and full of delicious treats. It was a day that we will never forget. Thank you to everyone at the Lodge for making our day so special and memorable. We love you guys!
I found the lodge by chance during a google search and boy am I glad I did. The building has a very unique vintage vibe to it since it was built in the 1930s but they've updated the interiors so it still feels fresh. The ballroom is beautiful with a huge fireplace on one end, a bay window in the center and 2 electric chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. There's a side room for the bar which has an eclectic design to it and rooms for the bride and groom in the back. We didn't get married on-site we only had our reception there but it was absolutely perfect. Our cocktail hour was held out on the patio and every seemed to enjoy being outdoors particularly with the heaters out. The team and Chef Cordelia kept everyone fed and happy with drinks on hand. The food was amazing and we got so many compliments on it throughout the high. I'd highly recommend the Lodge as a reception or wedding venue!
We loved our wedding venue! Would recommend this site to anyone looking for a beautiful outdoor wedding!
I just got married at The Lodge at Malibou Lake in Nov ‘19 and I can’t say enough good things! The venue is absolutely beautiful and was the perfect mixture of rustic and elegant. I recommend going to the supper club tastings because you can try the food, see all the stylish decor (which is all included by the way), and get a feel for what your wedding could look like. The staff was all very friendly and did an amazing job. My only recommendation is to look into transportation ahead of time because getting Lyft/Uber was kind of difficult. Other than that, I was really pleased with how my wedding turned out and I would highly recommend this venue!
Hands down the best decision of our wedding was to have it here at the Lodge. The staff was always responsive, professional, and had the answers that we needed. The venue itself is of course absolutely stunning. We needed almost no decorations to have the exact atmosphere and appearance that we wanted. The food was incredible, my guests were raving about it (even the vegans who were served a vegan meatloaf thought it was incredible). The staff was nothing short of exceptional, there was even a server who stayed with me and my spouse the entire night to serve us appetizers and make sure we ate (not to mention make sure my drink glass was never empty). I got to eat all the food that was served at my wedding, which I know from other friends is hard to accomplish because the couple is usually too busy and not attended to. That was not a problem at all! Truly spectacular all around.
My thanks to everyone at the Lodge for making my special day absolutely perfect!
Fabulous staff from planner, chef, bar and wait staff. Beautiful unique setting nestled in the mountains and next to Malibou Lake. We were able to host cocktails on the porch, dinner on the lawn and dancing inside the lodge. This group is well organized, professional and accommodating!
I could not have asked for a better experience from the time we contacted the team to see the venue, all the way until post-wedding day. The venue is GORGEOUS and speaks for itself, but the A+ team is what I think really sets them apart and makes them the ideal choice.
Client service was phenomenal - they are super organized and responsive and so fun to work with. All questions we had during planning were easily and promptly addressed, and we felt confident that the day was going to be perfect, thanks to their attention to detail. And it was!
Catering was AMAZING. We had so many of our guests tell us after the wedding how much they loved the food, and that it was the best they'd ever had at a wedding. A lot of couples might be turned off by the fact that you are required to use their caterer, but seriously it is a blessing. Chef Cordelia is AWESOME. The menu options were plenty and customizable and most importantly delicious. The quality and the presentation of the food was excellent, and we were also super appreciative that they sent extras home with us for the day after as a nice surprise! They also allow outside alcohol, so that was a huge plus for us!
In terms of the venue itself and location, it was perfect for what we were looking for. The grounds are lush, and the indoor ballroom and library bar were beautiful. Their furnishings were also perfect for the rustic elegance we wanted to create, so we didn't have to source anything else (no added costs!)
Again, not sure what else to say, but we would highly recommend The Lodge - you will fall in love with the space and the team!
This was a beyond perfect experience for my new hubby and I. The venue is gorgeous, historic with a modern kick, perfect lush surroundings and a beautiful lake background. Super chic bridal and groom suites made the morning easy and fun and the service and staff made the event absolutely flawless!!!
The food was amazing, all of our guests said it was the best they had ever had!! The team was prompt with responses and helped all along the way, I'm truly sad that it is over. We will start making up excuses to visit!!
We spent way too much time and energy looking for venues and it became so exhausting. But we're so glad we found this gem, as it made us realize just how thorough of a search we did and how many of the things on our wish list this place had.
From the very first communication with Jacey, we got a quick response. We scheduled a tour and she was warm, friendly and answered all our questions. We then later scheduled two supper club tastings and really loved the food and atmosphere. FYI they charge for tastings but you can have up to 2 tastings credited toward your final invoice.
We liked that the venue already included beautiful tables, chairs, various furniture, two types of arches, table settings, service wear, and some decor items such as lanterns and an easel. The wood farm style tables are gorgeous and don't need linens so you can save on that cost. There is a beautiful lake across the street for photo ops. You also have the option to bring in your own alcohol (they supply bartenders and basic mixers) which is a great way to save money. We also loved how beautifully maintained the grounds are. The ballroom is beautiful, with elegant high ceilings, lots of windows, and gorgeous chandeliers. The location is fantastic. Just an hour or so outside of LA and easy to get to off the freeway, but you feel like you're not even in the city because it's kind of tucked away in the mountains. And lots of parking, which was important for us.
All points of contacts, from Jacey to Valerie to Cordelia, are super responsive, organized, and always answered all of our questions (we had tons!). There is a ton of good information on their website and you can see all of their decor, furnishings, spaces, and even sample table configurations depending on your guest count. Our final walk through meeting was extremely thorough and we even got a floor plan of how all the tables and furniture would be laid out on our wedding day.
We decided on family style dining and they offered a wide range of menu options, which includes 4 passed appetizers, and mix and match between 5 dining items. For apps, we selected the bacon wrapped apricots (crowd favorite), mini crab cakes, chilled grilled shrimp w/gazpacho shot, and duck bao buns. The dining items were a watermelon and mixed greens salad, cedar plank salmon w/rosemary mustard glaze, tri tip w/charred tomato salsa, green beans w/almond slivers and street style corn on the cob. Everything was delicious and we received endless compliments.
The staff was simply amazing. During cocktail hour while we were taking our photos, the staff came by and offered us drinks and appetizers. And upon being seated at the sweetheart table, we saw they had set aside a plate of more appetizers for us as well (we missed some being passed while we went across the street to the lake for photos). The staff was so attentive and constantly checked on us thoughout the evening to see if we needed anything and offered drinks.
The transition between ceremony to reception was seamless, and clean up at the end of the night went like a well oiled machine. The Lodge and all of the staff truly made our day memorable and we are so glad we chose them for our wedding day.
Congratulations, your search for a venue is officially over. The Lodge at Malibou Lake captured every dream we had, and it was captured through unbelievably stunning video and photos. The staff is unbelievably amazing and accommodating. Our guests couldn’t say enough amazing things about the venue, and the crew made sure everything went perfectly (including bringing my groom and I drinks and appetizers while we were taking photos!). Seriously, this place is worth every penny and I will forever be thankful that I trusted them with hosting the best day of my life!
Don't hesitate, just book it while you can!!! What an excellent venue and staff. We could not have asked for more from them on our special day. Everything was perfect and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the lodge to anyone... but here are some pros and cons for those looking:
Pros:
- suuuper helpful & friendly staff on the day of AND leading up to our wedding. These guys know what they're doing despite being a fairly new wedding venue.
- very clear logistics and information
- it really is a beautiful venue that doesn't really need much additional decoration. Just some personalization.
- Book in spring to try and catch the roses in bloom. It makes all the difference! our guests loved it.
- had tons of compliments on the food and bar. We recommend going to at least one food tasting. So delicious. Don't be turned off by being locked into using Chef Cordelia. We might try to sneak in to future tastings =]
Cons:
- some limitations due to the nature of the venue (eg duration & curfew, music, decorations etc) but they are very upfront about them and we did not find them very limiting for our plans
- the bride and groom prep rooms are a bit small if your wedding party is 4 or more on each side.
- some cell carriers have spotty reception there. This is pretty common for the area though.
Big thank you to Jacey and everyone else on the staff that helped us throughout the process. Our day was absolutely perfect.
We had my daughters Welcome Reception and Bridal Brunch at the Lodge. The venue is stunningly beautiful with flowers everywhere, manicured lawns, and the crystal lake and canyons surrounding it. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, professional, and extremely helpful. The most impressive aspect of both of our events was THE FOOD! We had a total of four events for our daughters wedding around Malibu, and the Lodge
(hats off to Chef Cordelia!!! ) stood out as the BEST food we have had at a wedding event.
The Lodge at Malibou Lake and all of the amazing staff here truly enabled us to have the wedding of our dreams! I would not have changed one thing about our wedding here!
The lodge is beautifully curated and decorated; we did not have to change anything about the setup and our guests loved taking photos in all the different rooms! The ceremony area outdoors is gorgeous and the view was so amazing to get married in front of. We chose to face the lake, which was calming for us as the couple, and lovely for our guests to take in. Despite the road, it was quiet throughout the ceremony and I was pleased we chose to face the lake.
The staff was fabulous and made sure to pay "extra" attention to the bride and groom. They brought me out dinner on two separate occasions, as I was too busy talking to eat the first! They also made special trips to the bar for me and remembered my drink of choice. The staff was so friendly that my mom and one of the waiters were introducing siblings and friends to one another! We truly felt like family throughout the night:)
THANK YOU Malibou Lake Lodge for making our night one to remember; and to anyone looking, book now! You will not regret it!
Chef Cordelia, Jacey, and her staff are the very best in the business. Words can't express my gratitude to her entire team for making our wedding the very best day of my life. From start to finish, her team created magic.
The food. Can we talk about the food?!? It was amazing. My husband is a vegetarian and we have several guests who are vegan. They made our entire dinner vegan (besides the most delicious short ribs I've ever tasted in my entire life). My Idaho relatives loved her vegan mashed potatoes. They didn't realize they were vegan until I told them. Everyone was obsessed with the impossible burger sliders as one of our appetizers. I had guests asking for recipes and are still talking about how delicious everything was.
The venue. Quite possibly the most beautiful place. It feels like you are in your own world, yet easy to get to. The estate is stunning. You have so many areas for photos and different areas for your guests to mingle. My guests loved the space and I'm obsessed with all of the photo opportunities my amazing photographer took our pictures at.
Chef Cordelia's team literally saved our wedding. Their staff was attentive, kind, and professional. They made our wedding flawless when my coordinator dropped the ball and didn't do her job. The staff at The Lodge made sure my day was perfect. They are the reason our wedding was the best day of my life. I have so much respect and gratitude to the entire staff for making me, my husband, our family, and all of our guests feel special. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I can’t recommend the lodge enough! The venue is absolutely breathtaking with so many incredible photo areas, it’s remote and surrounded by mountains but easy to get to, and the staff is absolutely incredible. Everyone was so incredibly nice and helpful and went out of their way to make the day as easy and stress free as possible.
Love Love Love!
I would not change a thing about our wedding at The Lodge at Malibou Lake. The entire inside of the venue has been remodeled to be a is a mix of rustic and elegance. The venue has gorgeous rectangle wood farm tables and chairs along with other pieces throughout the venue so you will not need to spend extra on furniture rentals. The bar/lounge and dressing rooms are decorated with fun vibes. The team working with Chef Cordelia were very accessible and accommodating to request.
Chef Cordelia worked with us to create a personalized menu that would fit with our winter wedding. Her food is OUTSTANDING and does not compare to any food I have had at a wedding. All my guest continue to rave that it was the best short ribs they have ever had. We did a plated meal which I have experienced going very poorly at other weddings including confusion with waiters and long wait times between courses. Cordelia has worked hard with servers to perfect the plated meal service and everything went flawlessly.
We had an incredible experience here and all our guest continue to rave.
My husband and I were married at The Lodge at Malibou Lake in October 2018 and we had the best experience! The location is gorgeous with the lake and mountains in the backdrop -- lots of great photo ops. The inside of The Lodge looks like it's out of a wedding magazine with an awesome rustic bar and a nice dining room with huge windows, high ceilings and a fireplace. One of the things that really sold me on The Lodge is that you have access to all their furniture, which includes farm tables, X back chairs, leather sofas and other cool vintage items, so you don't have to hassle with rentals, which can really add up. This made The Lodge a great value and the planning process easier. The food by Chef Cordelia is delicious and the staff was a pleasure to work with. This venue is a real treasure!
So much can be said about this amazing venue and Chef Cordelia and her staff! We found this venue last March/April and at the time it was not as known as it has now become. Through the last year we have seen so much growth and even during the unfortunate devastation this community has faced during the Woolsey Fire this venue remained untouched. It is a true symbol of the surrounding community and you can feel it when you are there. We were honored to have our wedding still come to fruition, the staff and comfort felt and given at this venue truly made me want to get married here all over again. It was a magical day, filled with love, laughter and this is a truly special place we will always be thankful for.
BEST DAY EVER!! (wedding 1/18/2019 Friday) If you want a chilled-out, classy but still kind of casual/rustic sort of place with awesome food, this is your spot!
Our wedding came after a STRAIGHT WEEK of rain and up until Thursday I wasn't sure if we could use the lawn because it was wet and muddy, but one sunny day and a few suggested adjustments by the managers at the Lodge was all it took for us to have the most beautiful and dry wedding of our dreams!!
LOVED LOVED LOVED everything, and if there were any issues they all got taken care of without me (the bride) ever noticing, which is kind of the most important thing, right??? haha. Communication was great. And they even did little things like help us figure out our specialty drinks and bring our drinks and apps to the dressing rooms for me and my husband after the ceremony or make adjustments to the menu according to our preferences. And you don't have to do things like rent extra silverware or furniture or even cool vintage couches. Includes THREE dressing rooms that can double as babysitting areas. We had shuttle service because this spot is up in the mountains and cell service is spotty, but half our guests ended up using Uber/Lyft anyway.
In summary:
Food: awesome (mac & cheese and bacon-wrapped apricots and oxtail ravioli nomnomnom).
Service: smooth like butter
Location: beautiful even in the middle of winter
Not to mention they've had fires and mudslides and all sorts of issues in this area and the venue is still untouched! Definitely check this place out, Chef Cordelia and her team, 5-stars all the way!!!
Choosing The Lodge for our November wedding was one of the best decisions we made during our entire wedding planning process. The location is stunning - pictures don't do it justice! Chef Cordelia's furnishings made the place feel brand new and modern while still keeping the spirit of the original Lodge. I love that the per-person cost is reasonable and included mostly everything - all of the other wedding venues we toured seem to have a separate per-person cost for everything, we felt very nickel-and-dimed. Our guests keep raving about the food - Chef Cordelia is a master at her craft! The bread pudding we chose for our dessert was to die for!
Unfortunately, our day was not without issues: there was a little mix-up with our signature cocktails which caused the bar to run out of them quickly. I planned to have our ceremony chairs placed in a semi-circle and was disappointed to see that they were not. Also, the venue requires a day-of coordinator and offers you to choose one of theirs or find your own. We went through the venue, but I wish I had done a little more research and hired someone myself. While the coordinator they provided was great, she was only a true day-of coordinator and not month-of. I only found this out a few weeks before the wedding so there was no time to change my mind. It seems as if the staff were a little disorganized since there was important information that wasn't provided to me over the course of planning, hence the day-of coordinator mishap. These are only minor issues, though as I know nothing will be entirely 100% perfect all-around.
All in all, we are extremely happy with how everything turned out and we're looking forward to seeing our photos!
We were so lucky to find this venue. It was exactly what we were looking for! Something secluded that made you feel like you were outside of the city but close enough that our guests who live in and around the area could easily travel to. It's a lake in the mountains of LA County! How great is that?
The space is beautiful and has been decorated and cared for in the nicest way. The staff was also wonderful to work with and very accommodating. Planning a wedding can be a crazy process and Chef Cordelia and her team were responsive and willing to work with us with a lot of our ideas. The food was amazing and our guests were raving about it all night. The pricing was also a lot more affordable than other similar venues in the area which was a huge bonus.
The only issue we had was the aisle during our ceremony wasn't wide enough for my Mom and Dad to both walk me down even though we asked for it to accommodate three people. But other than that we had a fantastic day!
Although my daughter's wedding was relocated at the last minute (d/t the Woolsey Fire and road closures) Malibou Lake Lodge is a stunning venue. We were impressed at the dinner tasting we attended months before the wedding. Chef Cordilia is an amazing chef. We were able to bring her to our new venue and she did not disappoint - even with only a few days to build up the new venue, including a kitchen, ordering tables and chairs and linens, relocate her staff and serve a delicious meal to our guests. She handled everything and was positive and encouraging throughout. She worked extremely well with all of our vendors. There is no doubt that MLL is a beautiful venue with wonderful service for both bar and dining.
We could not be more thankful for finding this hidden gem of a venue. We just got married here a few weeks before the fires and are SO thankful it is still standing. From the amazing food from Chef Cordelia to top notch service from the staff, our wedding day was absolutely perfect. On top of that, the natural beauty around Malibou Lake made the place feel magical and far away from the busyness of LA. Five stars all around!
From the moment we stepped foot onto the property, we were in love. Cordelia and Jacey have done an amazing job at renovating and reinvigorating this gorgeous lake-side venue to be a beautiful backdrop for weddings of all shapes and themes. The lawn is beautifully manicured and the perfect location for a romantic outdoor ceremony. The front porch is perfect for a cocktail hour, and that bar! It's decorated so well. The interior of the Lodge is updated but still classic and can be molded (with their furnishings) to match any aesthetic. Most of the recent weddings we had seen online at the Lodge went for the rustic/outdoorsy or shabby/chic theme, but we went colorful and whimsical and it was spectacular. Our guests could not stop raving about how gorgeous it all was.
AND THE FOOD! Chef Cordelia is a culinary genius! She and her team gave us the wedding dinner we had always dreamed of, and customized certain dishes to our tastes. It was so delicious! And we actually ate at our own wedding (which is unusual for brides and grooms)! And let me talk about the packages. They include SO much, and at such a great rate. ALL the furniture you could want (including a SHOWSTOPPING moongate arch for the ceremony) is included - whatever they own, you are free to use! And for a teeny bit extra, they'll even throw in custom uplighting inside to really amp up the vibe of your party. They also have 3 adorable private bridal suites, all decorated with different themes, and make the perfect backdrop for pre-wedding photos with your bridal party (the Pink room was my bridal suite and where we signed our wedding license). If your photos are important to you, this venue is an amazing choice because every single location on the property is beautiful and made our wedding photos absolutely stunning. We would do it all over again if we could and do everything the same. Thank you to everyone at the Lodge for making our wedding perfect in every way!
Love, Kevin + Laura - 10.26.18
This venue was absolutely amazing and played a big part in how unforgettable our wedding was.
To start, the venue itself is extremely picturesque. From the beautiful lawn, to the lake, to the trees, and to the decor in the venue, everything was picture perfect. Going to the venue is almost like you are stepping outside of LA into a beautiful movie set.
Our ceremony took place outside with a stunning and natural backdrop before moving inside for the reception. The furniture, the décor, the bar, everything was done in great taste. The wedding was attended by a majority of out of town guests and they all commented on how amazing the venue was and the beauty associated with it.
In addition, working with the management team was a 5-star experience. Jacey, Chef Cordelia, etc. were all great to work with and helped take a lot of the stress out of the wedding planning process. They were extremely diligent and organized, while also being quick to respond to emails, phone calls, or questions.
Between the management team and the venue itself, we could not have asked for a better wedding experience. The Lodge comes highly recommended!.
We wanted a back yard wedding but had too many guests, and we were put off by nearby venues that seem like "wedding factories." We went with Malibou Lake (we booked before tasting the food) and I am SO glad we did.
The whole team is so responsive and amazing. Their in-house management/catering company (Chef Cordelia) is INCREDIBLE -- so responsive and personal, had a thorough answer for all 1000000 of my questions, SUPER flexible and customize-able, and the food was insanely delicious. Seriously, a week has gone by and our parents are still getting phonecalls complimenting the food (especially the Miso Salmon). People keep saying things like "I've never been to a wedding with good food before, and this was GREAT!"
My only disappointment is that you can't project music outdoors other than during the ceremony (it's not up to the venue-- it's the policy of the neighborhood association), but luckily we had a DJ who could play acoustic guitar during our cocktail hour.
The team at Malibou Lake goes above and beyond. Physically, it feels personal and secluded even though it's just sitting in Agoura. We got tons of compliments on the beauty of the setting, and a few friends even hinted that they might want to get married there in the future. The Chef Cordelia team has also gone above and beyond to make this venue beautiful on the inside -- it feels like a hip bar or private lodge. Just gorgeous.
