We loved having our wedding at The Loft at 132 in June 2023. The venue was absolutely beautiful and the perfect space to celebrate our big day with our loved ones.
Our total guest count ended up being around 150 people and that size group easily fit into the space. We had our ceremony on the rooftop and were originally also going to host the cocktail hour up there as well, but it ended up being too hot so we had the cocktail hour and reception on the main floor. But as the night went on and the weather cooled down a bit, our guests absolutely loved going up to the roof to enjoy the views and space.
By far one of the best parts about working with The Loft was the day of coordinator who works for the venue, Rachel. Throughout the planning process, Rachel was on top of everything--coordinating with vendors, answering our million questions, and helping to ensure our special day went as smoothly as possible.
Would definitely recommend working with The Loft at 132 for your wedding day!
The set up was perfect, rooftop was beautiful, and the staff were so fun!
We cannot offer anything but praises for Michelle, Bill, and Rachel at the Loft at 132. We immediately fell in love with the open space, the light/airy atmosphere, and the phenomenal rooftop at the initial tour. We also had an immediate sense from first seeing the venue and meeting Michelle that she and Rachel cared about us, our vision, and doing everything in their power to accommodate our dream wedding. Communication throughout the whole process was great. We felt that we were able to talk/ask questions whenever. When it came to the day of, Rachel was an absolute blessing in coordinating rehearsal/wedding day, especially with the last minute switch to an inside ceremony because of the lovely Wisconsin April snow :) We so appreciate the professionalism, dependability, and positivity that everyone at the Loft offered us. We plan to come back again for drinks on the rooftop. We cannot recommend Michelle and her beautiful space enough to anyone!
Things I wish I knew to look for when exploring venues:
*You will need a day-of coordinator here because you are unable to get into the venue until noon which required us to have a later wedding and less prep time. We had phenomenal vendors who all played a huge part in the success of the day.
*There is a $5k bar minimum but you will spend closer to ~$10k if you have rail liquor included at all.
*Communication is delayed with the owner via e-mail.
*You are able to leave decor/belongings in the bridal suite the night before the wedding. If we had known that, we would’ve saved some of our vendors time the next day.
*The photos from our day are stunning and the venue itself is incredible as it feels like 2-in-1.
The bar stopped serving our guests 90 minutes early during the reception because of a “wet floor” and this is when things began to escalate. There was no warning given to our us or our guests and when my mother offered to mop it up, Bill mimicked her. Instead of cleaning up the floor, they instead stopped serving every single person in attendance.
If the management felt the dance floor was too wet, they should have stopped the music, mopped the floor, and asked guests to no longer bring drinks on the floor. Our guests would have cooperated and the venue would have sold another 90 minutes of drinks (that we were contracted for and we still paid for).
Bill called our guests “animals” and “savages” which multiple guests told us the following day. Additionally, Bill told my husband to his face that our friends/family were “an animal show”. The owner chose to decline that in the comments of other reviews. If certain people were out of line, we believe they should’ve addressed them individually and/or confronted us.
My husband was trying to defuse the situation and stop Bill from arguing with our guests from behind the bar, but he continued to engage with them. I believe both parties are wrong for arguing about the bar closing, however the unprofessionalism of the owner to continue to engage with guests stirred the pot further.
We chose to have our last dance and leave early since ALL of our guests were unable to be served. Our vendors assisted us with this, but confirmed they had never come across such a bizarre situation before.
We were unaware that someone dropped a chair off the roof (which we agree is completely unacceptable), however that guest was not asked to leave and we were not notified. This also had nothing to do with the bar being closed down which is portrayed to be one of the reasons it was in the comments. They were unaware of this occurrence until the following morning.
I know another couple who got married here in 2022 as well and their bar service was also shut down early and they were charged $1500 to clean the “wet floor”.
We paid our full bar bill even after asking them to update it based on guest count and the 1.5 hours that were not fulfilled, however they did not.
We’re extremely disappointed with how our evening ended and would not recommend this venue to anyone (especially if there’s any chance your guests may spill as they dance). If you do choose this venue, review what happens if the floor does get wet in advance.
We strongly support women-owned businesses and believe this situation has nothing to do with that.
As a former event planner, attendee of *one of the* early shut down weddings, and as someone who is planning a wedding myself, I 100% would NOT recommend this venue to anyone who wants their guests to have a fun time and enjoy themselves.
To start, looking at any and all reviews that include ANY negative feedback, the venue's responses are childish, defensive, and condescending. Even if I had not attended one of the TWO *confirmed* weddings that were shut down early, I would not consider this venue simply based on the retaliation that is visible throughout these reviews.
The wedding that I attended was cut short due to what the owners thought were overly intoxicated guests and a wet dance floor. This can happen at a wedding, sure, but the issue here is that no concerns/warnings were ever given to the bride, groom, day-of coordinator, or anyone else who was in attendance for the matter. The owners simply showed up, cut off the bar, and started berating guests.
As a former event planner and restaurant manager, I know when things get out of hand, when you need to excuse a guest, or when you need to pause - clean something up - and continue the evening. Majority of venues are capable of handling these scenarios with a proper warning, grace, and professionalism that keeps the event running smoothly without causing a scene - considering this is their livelihood after all. The owners here did not handle themselves professionally and every guest I spoke to felt awful for the bar staff who deserved another hour+ of tips.
As someone who is planning a wedding myself, I have asked 5+ venues in the area how they handle intoxicated guests or a wet dance floor and they were completely all astounded at the way this venue handled themselves that evening. A venue is built to handle wedding crowds that are there to ENJOY themselves and have a memorable evening - not be harassed by the owners and have their venue cut short.
The one star, negative review, and warning to people honestly comes down to the fact that you own a venue to host events - large events that people enjoy themselves at and where alcohol is present --- if something goes wrong and you feel like you need to intervene, you do so in a way that does not disrupt the evening, or potentially ruin a once in a lifetime day for people. These owners obviously do not understand that.
The venue was/is very beautiful. Michelle who is was very friendly and helpful . She also had a great response time. Bill who is head over the bar was awesome as well, before my date I told him that I loved margarita’s and he remembered. And my glass was never empty and the margaritas were delicious. All of my guests loved the venue and raved about how beautiful it is. I even seen a few taking there own selfies from there awesome rooftop area. I would definitely recommend The Loft at 132 to who ever asks. Thank you all for insuring that we had a great time.
The Loft at 132 is absolutely gorgeous. At our rescheduled reception, we were able to use the rooftop, and WOW that was incredible. And the downstairs is even more beautiful! The space is truly the best place to have a reception. They do require you to buy alcohol through them, but Bill is super knowledgeable and friendly. We did have a few difficulties with communications and you do have to set the tables up and put them away by yourself, if that is an issue.
10/10! Hands down the most amazing venue ever! We had our ceremony and cocktail hour on the beautiful rooftop and the reception on the 2nd floor. The owners, Michelle and Bill, were absolutely amazing to work with. I have nothing but great things to say about this venue. Highly recommend!
They also have drinks on the rooftop on Thursdays which we often go to as well!
The Loft at 132 is such a beautiful venue! My (now) husband and I wanted to stay away from a rustic venue, and this was the perfect fit for us! It's very modern with hints of industrial vibes. We used the rooftop for our ceremony and the pictures are just stunning!! They have cute lights hanging and a gorgeous view of the sunset for pictures! There's also several great picture spots within a block of the venue, which saved us a lot of time! We had 240 guests and everyone fit very comfortably. Our guests definitely appreciated having a bar on both levels, especially after dinner so they could hang out outside if they didn't want to dance. Michelle and Rachel were easy to work with and always got back to us quickly when we had questions. Bill was great at making sure we always had drinks throughout the day. My only complaint would be that we couldn't enter the venue until 12pm and couldn't set up or bring in anything the night before. This made for short set up time since our ceremony was at 3:30pm, so I would recommend having a later ceremony, 4 or 5pm. But luckily, the we were able to coordinate with our vendors so everything was ready to go by ceremony time! Overall, we had a great experience at this venue and 100% recommend!!
The team at The Loft is incredible to work with. They were very thorough and accommodating in our pre-event meeting all the way through our school fundraising event! We already booked the venue for next year!
I reached out to this venue and set up a tour. At first, the owner seemed nice and allowed me to choose a time for my tour since my family from 5 hours away was also coming to look at the venue with me. Two weeks later, we drove to Sun Prairie and arrived at the venue. The owner told me to text her when we arrive, as she needed to let us in the front door. I texted her and received no response. Then I called her and she rudely told me that we couldn’t do the tour because they were painting. ??? We told her that we didn’t mind, and would be willing to look anyways and she would not let us. After telling her I did not want to reschedule my tour (who wants to start out with this lack of professionalism when planning a wedding?!), she said she tried to call me multiple times that day. I had zero missed calls from her. She did send us money days later to reimburse for gas, but overall really not surprised about other negative reviews regarding professionalism. I urge future brides to think twice about this venue, as you may have your big day scheduled and they might be painting that day.
The loft at 132 is a beautiful, beautiful venue. It's two venues in one! The rooftop is extremely romantic and chic. The second floor reception space is extremely modern with plenty of space for everyone. Michelle was extremely helpful throughout the whole process of having a 2020 wedding. Her and her husband really cared about us having our dream wedding and we really appreciated that. She responded in a timely manner and was extremely helpful.
First off, the venue is beautiful - both the second floor and rooftop! The owners are wonderful and very helpful. Due to COVID-19, our plans changed a few times and they were very accommodating. We ended up having all events outside on a cold, rainy day but it was still perfect. They put up the canopy and had heaters our for us. I would highly recommend The Loft at 132!
We had our wedding at The Loft at 132 in September 2019. We looked into several different venues and knew when we toured The Loft that it was where we were meant to be married. Michelle was very helpful and answered all of our questions with kindness and great knowledge. We had a lot of moving pieces on our day and had a lot of different vendors and she was extremely helpful in tying things together for us. She worked closely with our wedding planner (Kirstie of Elevate Events, whom I also HIGHLY recommend) to ensure things ran smoothly the day of. We booked about a year and a few months in advance and had to switch our date due to some unforeseen circumstances and she was very helpful and accommodating of our needs and wishes. Getting married on the rooftop was a dream come true for us. We were married on a rather windy day and the PA system worked well and everything ran smoothly. We couldn't have been happier with the staff and how our day turned out. It's truly a stunning venue. It's a mix of modern and elegance and we highly recommend taking a tour and seeing it for yourself. Thanks Michelle and staff for making our day so incredibly perfect.
The rooftop is the perfect setting for a wedding reception! We had our reception there and it couldn't have been better. The rooftop is beautiful, and Michelle was great to work with. She came through for us when COVID really switched up our plans. I would highly recommend!
This venue was perfect for our wedding back in October of 2019. We had our ceremony on the rooftop followed by a cocktail hour with their rooftop bar and then everyone moved downstairs for the reception and dancing. We loved that everything could be done in one place. The venue is gorgeous, too, and made for some great photos! The owners were easy to work with and made our day seamless. If we could do it all over, we would still pick The Loft for our venue!
The Loft at 132 has been so wonderful to work with during our wedding planning process. Even with all of the unknowns of COVID, Michelle the event manager and The Loft have so accommodating. From the very beginning Michelle provided us with suggestions, resources and extensive details to make us feel more relaxed as we continued planning. Michelle has continued to keep us updated as the state and county have made changes and we are so thankful to have had her! We are so excited to have our wedding at The Loft at 132!
Entirely unwilling to work with the couple during a global pandemic. We attempted to reschedule once and at no ones fault, the situation hasn’t improved. We are uncomfortable putting something on paper for a third time and the venue has taken our deposit as if we have cancelled.
Throughout the entire process, we have had to initiate communications, even when it was evident that our scheduled event would have been in violation of county mandates. At a certain point, you would think the owners would reach out and help us with our options. Poor communication.
We made a few requests (bar package and event organizer changes) to which the owners said yes. They run their business and have every right to say no. Owners continued to hold these approved requests over our heads as if it was some incredible favor to us. Also used it as reasoning to not even consider returning our deposit. She is bad at business.
Had we known who this couple was prior to booking, we would have went elsewhere. A history of financial and business conflict. I hope my money eventually goes to someone this couple has hurt over the years.
The venue is undoubtedly gorgeous. However, during this global pandemic, we rescheduled our wedding with them, and as our second date now approaches, there is no way to safely have a 250+ person celebration. They never reached out to us to provide options- we reached out to them to ask for a returned deposit (over $4k!) as there is no way to know that a rescheduled third date would even be safe. This pandemic would be considered, by most people, an “Act of God”. We did not just call off our wedding and leave them without the ability to have an event. No events are safe in large numbers now. We should absolutely receive our deposit back in full. Instead, we’ve lost out on thousands of dollars, making this time in our lives even more stressful.
I cannot recommend The Loft at 132. Poor communication, lack of empathy, and zero remorse for stealing so many couple’s deposits during this time.
Beautiful venue! 💕💕💕
The loft is a stunning venue with so much natural character that we didn't need to do much decorating. The loft is large enough that we were able to design a reception layout that matched what we envisioned for our day. The rooftop is incredible and perfect for a ceremony and cocktail hour. Our guests are still talking about how beautiful our ceremony was. Michelle was prompt in responding to questions and concerns.
