Do not let the setting fool you - this place is an absolute gem for indoor PNW weddings. Older reviews mention other coordinators - but Sarah W is a dream to work with!
Sarah was so easy to work with and helped us navigate the entire process. “Simple Done Well” is their mantra, and we felt that at every turn. Their day-of staff were so quick to jump in and make the day run just seamlessly. Incredible food (biggest compliment we’ve received from guests!), and a beautiful indoor space. We wanted something that required a very light touch for decor and The Loft absolutely delivered. It made life so easy to have their team coordinate various rentals (furniture and linens), and no need to manage vendor licenses or insurance with this venue. We would’ve loved the weather to cooperate enough to take full advantage of the beautiful courtyard. Would not hesitate to recommend for weddings or other events.
Just perfect! Megan was our venue coordinator and I cannot thank her enough for making our wedding perfect. Great communication, vendor referrals, suggestions. She arranged a wonderful dinner with the restaurant since menu tasting wasn't possible when we booked during lockdown. She also set me up with the bar manager to do a private wine tasting one afternoon. The food and drinks are beyond delicious. The staff is amazing. Megan made sure our ceremony rehearsal and wedding day all went according to plan. Having so many big ticket wedding items being coordinated by one person who understands the venue and menu saved us so much time and stress. Well worth every penny. And I cannot forget the absolutely beautiful space!
Good food and really pretty but honestly not worth the hassle of dealing with the staff, all the way from upper management to the servers. We had our wedding here a few weeks ago and the whole planning process was an absolute nightmare. Without exaggeration, the event coordinator belittled us and did very little to accommodate our simple requests. One of the worst experiences of my life. Shocked at all the positive reviews.
My wife and I recently got married here. Although the venue is beautiful, I would not recommend it to anyone due to the staff's unprofessionalism and lack of communication. Throughout the planning process, the coordinators misled us multiple times in regards to certain accommodations; for example, they because they had mistakenly approved of our proposal to hold 200 guests when they later revealed they can only hold 165, they offered to pay for our lights. When we brought up the lights later, they acted as though we were making it up out of thin air. I've never experienced a professional interaction like that in my life. Additionally, many of our guests noted that the members of the staff were being unreasonably rude to them. This included a staff member showing my brother attitude when he asked for a plastic straw for his water, and several guests having their simple requests for things such as an extra fork or napkin rejected. Don't let the pictures fool you - this place isn't worth it
Russell's is a great venue. It's a truly beautiful space that doesn't take a lot to turn into your picture perfect wedding. One of the best things about it is the food that comes with it. The venue is very reasonably priced, which then allows you to invest in the quality of food for your guests. We have eaten at Russell's multiple times and the quality of food for our 100 person wedding was on par with what they bring you on your personalized plate if you go for dinner. Alissa, one of the coordinator was attentive and was willing to field my many many questions through email. The day-of coordinator (Amy) was especially awesome. She worked with all of my vendors to make sure they completed their jobs before they left and coordinated with the DJ to make sure everything was timed out and lined up well. She got plates of food for both Lindsey and me to ensure we had time and food to eat on our big night and overall just made the night stress free. My only advice, is double what their alcohol estimate is on your bill. I assumed 2.5 drinks per head seemed like a reasonable amount, but my group tripled that and I saw the number the next day. Then again, maybe my friends just party too much. Either way, Russell's is an awesome venue and I highly recommend them.
Great experience overall. Wonderful venue for a wedding reception.
This was the most beautiful venue! The food was AMAZING and the barn looks almost like a church with the cathedral-like ceilings. I want to give it 4.5 stars but cannot and the only reason why is because the "bridal suite" isn't much of a suite. You cannot get ready at the venue and the suite doesn't have a bathroom or anything like that. Additionally, if you have to go to the bathroom you have to walk through the restaurant which was a little awkward in my dress. But that is really trivial when you think about how beautiful the barn is with it's rustic charm. It is perfectly hidden and there is plenty of parking. I loved working with the staff and loved having my wedding there (ceremony and reception)
The Loft at Russell's is the perfect indoor wedding venue. The natural beauty of the barn is unbeatable. So romantic and breathtaking.
My husband and I fell in love as soon as we walked up the stairs from the restaurant and laid eyes on it.
We couldn't picture our wedding anywhere else and even though it was just slightly more than our budget, it was worth every penny.
We got so many compliments from our guests on the space and the food. Russell's food is delicious! They have a variety of options to fit your taste and budget.
The staff is very friendly and helpful, there is plenty of free parking, it's right off the freeway, elevator if needed, and plenty of restrooms.
I couldn't have imagined a better wedding and The Loft made it all possible.
My husband and I got married at Russell's in October of 2013. We knew that we wanted pictures with fall foliage and the trees surrounding the restaurant are really great. Russell's events team worked with us on our passed appetizer and sit down dinner menu and listened to what we wanted, especially at our tasting appointment. It's been almost a year and people still mention how great the food was. The Loft was an ideal place for our ceremony and reception because our guests didn't have to travel to separate locations. The space is a great blank slate for a variety of decorations and they were very accommodating with multiple seating options and table arrangement possibilities. No regrets whatsoever with choosing Russell's Loft!
I am writing this review a year after my wedding, sitting at Russell's for my anniversary dinner with my husband.
Russell's was one of the few places in town that could give us precise budget - the rest were too non-committal. Rent for the wonderful wooden rustic barn/loft upstairs was very reasonable. Let's just say we could not find anything even close to the elegance and space for this price. It fits larger parties, ours was under 100 people. They always cater from the restaurant downstairs, and though you can't bring outside catering (more details below), they do customize the menu with several traditional dishes that you can request for your ethnic wedding.
Through the loft upstairs has only a single window, there was plenty of light as Russell's works with various vendors to provide additional decorative lighting. Our photographer saw no issues with lighting.
Russell's let us pick the color scheme for the napkins and table cloth, provided china, glassware and silverware, good chairs and tables, as well as several great-looking old wine barrels for for decorations, to put the gifts on, to sign the documents, etc. That last part was very unusual and refreshingly unexpected.
Most importantly, they let us install some elements that were necessary for the ceremony (chuppah, for example).
Throughout the process, we worked with Michelle Morgan, who was exceptional. She made entire preparation worry-free, including food, decor, organization, communication, billing - the whole thing. We highly recommend Russell's for that reason as well - Michelle is extremely well-organized and won't leave you wondering about even a smallest detail. We loved working with her.
Food. Once we picked two main dishes (be sure to give them the "fish vs. beef" final count a few days before the event), the salads and hor d'oeuvres were specially made by the chef using our family recipes. We used the opportunity of food tasting event to give the chef more feedback, and things turned out delicious. Chef apparently had fun researching and cooking these foods as well, so a win-win. At the end, our guests could not believe these ethnic dishes weren't home cooked. Everyone left well-fed and happy. Russell's also made great desserts (smaller assortments) while we were responsible for the cakes. This turned out to be a great arrangement for us as we could order cakes at a local bakery we frequent anyway.
Alcohol. We chose wine (both red and white), liquor that will be available and champagne for the first toast. They've organized a special selection session for us. This was the only variable part of the bill, as alcohol portion depends on the appetite of your guests. They give you all open bottles, by the way. Russell's allowed us to bring a bottle of special kosher wine for the ceremony.
Staff. Given the number of guests in your party, they provide staff for the evening. The number of people is just right. They move unnoticed, and yet your glass is full and your food is on time. They stay out of the way during the ceremony and know what to do and and when. Again, Michelle is the master conductor behind the scenes. She also came up to the small room upstairs where my husband and I were waiting, to bring some food before the main ceremony began.
Summary: We could be happier with how Russell's and Michelle organized the wedding, working with us and with our families to make sure the day was memorable!
My husband and I got married at Russell's loft space on the evening of October 6, 2013. Our experience of Russell's, from the very beginning, was top notch. Our go to girl was the incredible Michelle Morgan. She belongs to Russell's team of professionals who worked tirelessly with us to make sure our wedding was straight out of a fairytale. Michelle made sure that we stayed within our budget and that our wedding was the absolute best our money could buy. She even bent over backwards to make sure that we had chairs and lights at a reasonable rate when the companies we were outsourcing fell through. All in all, I couldn't have asked for a more magical day. I'm so excited to tell all of you future brides about this amazing restaurant and wedding venue! It was beyond reasonably priced with exceptional food and an elegant loft space. We look forward to celebrating our wedding anniversaries with Russell and his crew. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. You won't be sorry!
We didn't end up using this as our caterer since the venue we loved had their own...but we did go to an open house type thing and the food is amazing. If we had done a winter wedding I would have loved to have them cater in the barn/loft area above the restaurant!
