This was a lovely place, but according to nj.com, after 66 years in business, The Manor is closing July 5, 2023. Why is this page still up here without any warning about that?
We loved this place, so organized and friendly.
The Manor is a beautiful and unique venue with a high value for reasonable prices. It was an easy choice for us because we had both been to events at The Manor before and loved it. We also were looking for a venue that had character; a lot of venues have beautiful banquet rooms, but many of them look very similar, with white walls and multi-colored uplighting. We really love that The Manor’s spaces are different and unique. The Imperial Room and Starlight Gardens, where we had our reception, are beautiful rooms, with rich dark paneling, a huge chandelier, a glassed-in greenhouse-like area for the cocktail hour, and a waterfall outside the huge windows surrounded by a lovely landscaped outside area which was perfect for photo sessions and for guests to wander and enjoy the spring weather.
The food is always good, and you get quite a large variety of dishes to choose from. Everything we tried there was delicious, and the presentation was beautiful. The bar was easily accessible and the drinks were great too. The staff was helpful, kind, and attentive, especially Roman, the banquet manager and our contact for whenever we needed anything. They let me set up my decorations the day before and were very helpful whenever I had a question or needed help. They also helped to pack everything up and have it ready for us the next morning. They accommodated our request for an after-party, which we had upstairs in the Minuet Garden Room for an additional fee, and this was so great. This room is another beautiful space which was perfect for a casual hangout after the main party.
The only complaint we had was a slight mishap with the cake which was most likely the result of a miscommunication. The Manor was apologetic about the mistake and even gave us a partial refund for the cake to make up for it, which we appreciated.
Overall, we love The Manor, its decor and atmosphere, its staff, and the general positive vibes we get from this beautiful place, and we highly recommend it as a wedding venue!
I don’t have the words to describe how perfect our day was because of The Manor. Every step of the way Roman took care of us and was so incredibly accommodating.
From needing to postpone because of COVID, to getting us anything we asked for, everything was so easy and pleasant.
I can’t thank The Manor enough for giving us the perfect day.
The Manor is one of the most beautiful and affordable venues! Since I visited for a friend's wedding, I fell in love. It is traditional, ornate, prestigious, beautiful, classy, breathtaking, and more! Roman and staff are amazing and catered to our every need! The grounds are stupendous, the interior is overwhelming. Rain or shine, your ceremony will be fabulous with indoor and outdoor options. The Manor is historical, and has been known and loved by all for so many years. I will cherish this place forever, plan to do anniversary events in the future, and pray the buffet dinners will make a come back!
SO MANY AMAZING THINGS TO SAY ABOUT THE MANOR!! Loved the old regal ambiance. When deciding I wanted a winter wedding, it was important to choose a venue where I knew we could take beautiful indoor pictures and I was sold with how beautiful the style/decor is! Another big factor was that we wanted a space for the ceremony at the venue and wanted it to be a separate space from our reception. We worked with Rolf and he was great and always on top of things. The bridal suite was beautiful and big enough for the whole wedding party to hang out in before the ceremony (we did a first look so we all hung out in the suite waiting for our ceremony to start as guests were arriving). We had our cocktail hour in a separate space from our reception (reception was in The Regency room). The dance floor was a perfect size for all of the guests to dance all night, the food was AMAZING, and the service was great! Highly recommend!
I absolutely loved our wedding at The Manor! Everything was better than I could have ever imagined - it was truly the wedding of our dreams! The staff, including Rolf the Catering Sales Manager, were so friendly and helpful - they really helped make sure everyone had a wonderful time! My bridal attendant Willene was the true MVP of the day and I’m so happy I had her keeping everything on track. She really went above and beyond. We had our wedding in The Imperial Room which is just gorgeous! The food was also amazing. After the wedding, we rented the Terrace Lounge for an after party which was also awesome. Thank you so much to everyone at The Manor!
We just got married here last weekend and it was a dream come true! Everything about this location was perfect- the ceremony space outside is a natural beauty, and the reception areas are equally beautiful. The staff here is the most helpful and guide you every step of the way. The venue was our most favorite part of wedding planning because not much needed to be done in terms of decorations, the staff was an absolute joy to work with, and it was affordable at that. I would certainly do more events here if I get the chance to! Loved everything about it! Awesome location!
Don’t waste your time. It smells old. They charge ~215-220 pp with tax included. It is NOT an all inclusive venue like three other websites claim. They really don’t care about providing much other than seeing who wants to waste 30-40k so they can “recover” from the pandemic. Don’t waste your miles and don’t waste your time. I’m absolutely disgusted since I have history at this place for decades with my family. Absolute waste of time. Now if you don’t care and want to waste your money — have fun.
The Manor is a beautiful place for a wedding. Especially in the spring/summer with all of the flowers. The food is FANTASTIC. Literally all of our guests enjoyed it. And their Regency Room was also a great, modern ballroom for our reception. Its white decor with the LED colored ceiling lights lends well to any wedding theme and makes it pop. Several negatives are that the maitre d' messed up our ceremony walk out order for the wedding party, even though we gave Rolf our walk out order list ahead of time, complete with diagrams where the bridesmaids and groomsmen should stand, she messed that order up for us and did not inform the wedding party where they were standing. Our best man was supposed to wait with the groom at the altar but at the last second the maitre d' pulled him out and made him walk down the aisle with the maid of honor, which was not our plan. And while our first impression of Rolf was not a great one, he was ok and friendly and helped us out towards the approach of our wedding date. However he did end up being out of office both a week before our wedding and then the week of our wedding and hence was unreachable. Despite that, however, the wedding went without a hitch and the photos were beautiful and the guests were all happy and satisfied!
I am delighted to give The Manor in West Orange NJ the highest rating possible. They made my daughters wedding last Friday a memorial event. The Manor is spectacular inside and out, the gardens and grounds are breathtaking, the food is delicious and the service impeccable. Rolf, our Catering Sales Manager, helped my daughter and son-in-law execute their vision perfectly and our Maitre d’ Washington and Bridal Attendant Willese made certain every thing ran smoothly from beginning to end. I highly recommend The Manor to any couple looking for a fabulous wedding venue.
Hands-down the absolute best weekend of our lives. The manor was extremely accommodating to our every want need and wish. They were professional, organized, and very easy to work with. They didn’t miss a single detail and our guests were constantly raving not only about how beautiful the place is but how incredible and delicious the food is as well! My maid of honor is now also planning to get married at this venue as well as another couple who had attended our wedding! I would hire the Manor for all events!
My husband & I were married at The Manor 5/1/21. We had issues throughout our wedding. Upon addressing these issues with The Manor, we were not once apologized to.
The first issue of the night was a request we agreed upon with The Manor. Due to the pandemic, we asked The Manor to administer temperature checks. We made sure that this Covid safety precaution was on our wedding website as well as in an email sent out a few days before our wedding day. Our goal was to make our guests feel comfortable&safe. As we arrived, we noticed no one was checking temperatures. When we picked up items and we told them about this issue, we were never apologized to. Instead, we were told that it was our mistake. Rolf said "I remembering informing you would have to assign a family member to do this". In an email, we have an agreement with Rolf that states,"This is not required, but if you want to buy them we can check guests". My wife located the original email&sent it to Rolf & we have yet to hear a reply. We purchased thermometers for this occasion so we could make our guests feel a little more comfortable attending our event. What is even more upsetting is that several guests left early because they felt uncomfortable. We had paid for plates which were not eaten by guests who may or may not have stayed, had The Manor followed through on their promise. Also, upon unpacking our belongings, a thermometer is missing! One that was never even used, was missing.
The issues go on. On our card& gift table we had 1 large gift basket. This gift basket included three bottles of wine, champagne, wine glasses & a small bottle of Johnnnie Walker Blue Label. As the night ended, Naemmy began packing up. She explained that they cannot take cards & we had to take the card out of the basket. I was able to rip open the plastic and take only the card. I thanked the guest who gave us this gift, because it was very extravagant and generous. When we got home, we noticed the small bottle of Blue Label was missing. We called Rolf immediately. He explained that he would checkin with the maitre d, Naemmy, and call us back. Naemmy had told Rolf that there was no Blue Label in the gift basket. I re-explained to Rolf that I specifically saw it&thanked the guest who brought that specific bottle. It was our understanding that it was strongly discouraged from people leaving cards at The Manor and we could have left the card intact in the basket.
The father of the bride informed me that he was disappointed in the quality of service at the venue. He informed us that during the night the maitre d approached him and said "he better take care of me"jokingly. This felt like a very tacky&classless comment.
A moment in our life, that should be a memory of a joyous event, will forever be linked with frustration, disappointment & embarrassment.
*There were other issues, however they couldn't all fit in this review.
My wife and I had our wedding here this past weekend and it was nothing I’ve ever seen before. Let’s start with cocktail hour. There was no one giving instructions where to go once they entered the room.,My brother and sister in law had to jump behind the bar to start serving drinks because the bar tenders were not there and there were 30 ppl on line waiting for drinks once they showed up that had no idea what they were doing . Then there WERE NO MIXERS how is that even possible?!The carving station didn’t come until 30 mins into the cocktail hour. Took very long Time for anyone to replenish it . Now for dinner the salad came out then an HOUR AND 15 MINUTES passed until dinner came out. We to talk to the manor the day after just seemed like they didn’t care. Yes I get it we had a wedding during covid and the staff was young but it’s a wedding we paid for and it should have went off better. The only reason I gave it a 2 star bc it was a beautiful day and the Matre’de was amazing the place is beautiful and at the end of the day we had a great night with good music and our family And friends but before you book with them make sure to ask all your questions .
I went to visit this venue and thought it looked historic. It had a very outdated feel to it. There is paneling all over the main entrance and in one of the ball rooms. The cocktail rooms are open with beautiful long glass windows that look into the grounds, but again it’s very dated. If your looking for a modern venue don’t bother looking here, but it you think you might like a venue with an older look it may be for you
I came to The Manor to take a tour of the space for my wedding set for a date in 2022: plenty of time to prepare. Upon arrival there was no one there to greet us. I assumed that was for COVID reasons to decrease interactions as there were plenty of signs directing us to the banquet office. When we bumped into Roman Bienkiewicz, who was not looking for me at all because my appointment had NOT BEEN inputted on the computer, he made it seem like he was doing us a favor by giving us a tour. To add insult to injury the woman I was supposed to meet, Jennifer Cooper, WAS NOT IN THE BUILDING! Nor was there any guarantee that she would be arriving. Strike 1.
Let’s get to the tour: he was dismissive with his answers to any of our questions. He did not try to accommodate us in any fashion. We asked about staggering times and he said “Oh we try, but there can be others events that will be happening at the same time so we can’t be sure.” Excuse me? So no reassurance that a stranger won’t walk into my ceremony or my guests won’t be directed to the wrong space. Strike 2.
As we were exploring the space, he WALKED AWAY FROM US! He did not warn us he was stepping away. We turned around with a question, and he was gone; as if we were a ghost! I thought any second the true director of marketing would appear and ask us why we were walking around unescorted. Strike 3.
At this point we should have left, but I wanted to see the outdoor ceremony space as it was one of the major reasons I wanted to see this venue. As we are walking through, he informs us that there would be NO FLOWERS ANYWHERE on the grounds in November. Nothing. So as I’m walking along the cracked paver pathway, I asked “As I am walking along here I’ll just be surrounded by dirt? No greenery. I know there won’t be any flowers but there won’t be any greenery?” He answers “No, nothing” “So I’ll just be surrounded by dirt?” “Yes”. Why am I even still talking to you?
My mother then suggested we look online to see what others have done to which he INTERRUPTED our conversation to mention, off handily as if it just popped in his mind, that he has some photos inside. Oh, and then once more silently walks away while our backs are turned so my questions are left dying at the tip of my tongue for the second time in 20 minutes.
We make our way inside, where he haphazardly shows us a room where we could sit, if we liked, because he didn’t stay in the room long enough to be accommodating. Then a blonde woman, carrying papers, folders and other office items enters the building. She could have been the mysterious Jennifer, with whom I was meant to meet. I’ll never know though, because not only did she NOT greet us she followed Roman Bienkiewicz to the side and participated in a whispered conversation. I can only assume it was about my mother, my fiancé and myself. I’ll never know because neither of them formally said goodbye to us or walked us out.
A WASTE OF TIME, GAS, AND MY COURTESY.
The owners of The Manor need to have a serious conversation with their staff. Roman Bienkiewicz is a private dining manager and Jennifer Cooper is the director of catering and sales. THEY ARE IN CHARGE! I can only imagine the staff they hire, if the people who are in charge are so rude and unprofessional. It is obvious that I was not wanted nor important to Roman Bienkiewicz and Jennifer Cooper. I will MOST DEFINITELY not be happening here.
Impeccable! That’s the best word to describe this venue and the services they actually provide. We had our wedding at the Manor back in the summer of 2011 and almost 10 years later , people still talk about it! Everything was perfect, the food was great, the cake was free and very good too. Not to mention the Viennese table! All kinds of sweets. Love it every little detail . I totally recommend The Manor!
The Manor and staff provided the most beautiful wedding venue for our special day. Every detail was accounted for and the value of this venue is truly unmatched. From the amazing food, high-quality service of staff, and overall ambiance, The Manor was an incredible wedding venue.
We had gone to The Manor to get a tour of the venue and potentially book our wedding for 2021. I have to say the venue is gorgeous! It's like a little village with Parisian luxury throughout the interior. However, we were so disappointed with our treatment by Roman, one of the managers there. While of course a wedding venue is at the most boiled down point a business transaction, every couple wants to feel special. Unfortunately, we felt far from that. I'm not sure if Roman had assumed we couldn't afford it, or if he had a long day and was tired, but we were so rushed through the whole process it was so easy to say "absolutely not" to this venue almost immediately.
When we first met with Roman, instead of asking us what our vision was, what colors we were incorporating, or what type of service we were looking for, he breezed through a very vague and general overview of the package they offer. He was so curt we honestly weren't even sure we were getting a tour!
I had brought my mother and maid of honor along with me as well, but instead of conversing with all of us, getting our opinions, or getting any sense of what we were looking for, he solely talked to my mother about each room we saw. No interaction with me, the bride, whatsoever. When my fiance tried to ask him questions, it was always met with a very short "no, we only do it this way."
A bride was getting ready in the bridal suite, and he actually interrupted their getting ready to show us the suite without even asking her first--I felt terribly rude! I'd feel so uncomfortable if that were me.
My maid of honor saw how uncomfortable I was and went to get another manager. Roman was clearly caught off guard and made a very unprofessional gesture in my direction when he thought I wasn't looking--at this point, I was done. That being said the other manager Jennifer was incredibly kind and sweet. She was extremely professional and did her best to make up for Roman's poor professionalism.
Overall, though, we were not interested in a venue that made it very clear they had no intention of helping us make our vision come to life.
It was a pleasure to work with the staff at The Manor in West Orange on December 28, 2019. All staff members were professional, helpful and very approachable. Special thanks to Washington, Teresa, Jim and the wedding attendant! The wedding went smoothly from the beginning to the end. The service impeccable! The food delicious! All guests left happy and raved about the wedding!! I would highly recommend The Manor to any couple for their wedding!
Our wedding at The Manor was absolutely perfect. The grounds were stunning and the food was delicious! All of our guests only had wonderful things to say about our day.
I want to begin by listing the positive outcomes of choosing The Manor. The building and grounds were absolutely gorgeous and impeccably maintained. The food was incredible and there was a lot of it (by the way, I definitely recommend the baked Alaska for dessert). The presentation - both of our wedding cake and of the other food - was artistic and elegant. The day-of wedding staff were extremely professional, organized, and helpful. Naomi, our Maitre D, was essentially a wedding coordinator and a venue coordinator wrapped up in one person. She was incredible at keeping the timeline moving along nicely. We had a fantastic experience on our wedding day and so many of our guests said that it was the best wedding they had ever been to, it was like a fairy tale, and so on. What is more, we really did our research when comparing the cost and value of our reception venue / caterer. The Manor was by far the best value for price. It was extremely elegant, beautiful, and skilled at the culinary arts, yet came in at a price comparable with other venues which did not seem to offer the greatest quality of environment or service. Now, for the negatives. Our contact person (who is essentially the sales representative assigned to you at the beginning who goes on to handle the entire planning process) left a lot to be desired. He did not seem at all enthusiastic or interested in us, our story, or our vision. We could really tell that this was just his day job and he was kind of going through the motions. We booked our venue early (I went to grad school overseas in the middle of our engagement) so policies could have changed during the intervening time, but things that he had told us at our initial consultation did not play out when it came close to the wedding day. When asked, he had vaguely assured us we could pick whatever kind of cake and whatever colour table linens. Then when the time came to make these selections, we were given a list of cake flavours and fillings which we really did not like and were told we must choose from that (without the benefit of a cake tasting). We only had two options for linen colours. He had also assured us that the ladies could use the bridal salon before-hand even though our ceremony was at a church. When it came close to the wedding day, I found out that there was an extra charge to access it at the time we needed. I do not mind if these are the policies, but vaguely brushing off our questions with assurances that we can have what we want and then changing your tune when it is too late to back out is not professional. We could have made a more informed decision when shopping for venues if he had been more open with us. It felt like pulling teeth to get information throughout the process. Even when I asked him specific questions I got vague answers. I was always the one reaching out to him to ask what about the next steps in the process, he did not readily provide materials and information on his own. I only had certain important points clarified for me because I was not able to get him on the phone and ended up speaking with other representatives who were much more straight-forward and helpful. So, I guess it really depends on who you get as your point-person. On the whole, it all worked out. And to be fair, if I had known all of this, I still would choose The Manor because our wedding was amazing. I just wish our rep was more up-front, friendly, and trustworthy.
ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!!! There was no amount of planning that could EVER have prepared me for the perfection that my day was. Like everything else, there were pros and cons, but it didn't stop us from having an incredible and beautiful wedding!
Pro's; they were very willing to accomodate my requests, the bridal attendant was very nice and super helpful, the maitre 'd was also very helpful, the food was beyond amazing, absolutely perfect.
The ONLY con was during our booking, we were told we could not negotiate the price per head for the ceremony because they STRICTLY hold only 1 ceremony per day. However, this was not the case on the day of my wedding, there was actually another ceremony an hour before mine was scheduled. So I feel that they kind of tricked me or was not completely honest with me during the booking of this venue. However, like I said, considering this was the ONLY con, I think they did pretty damn good. Thank you!!!
The venue is Beautiful and the workers are great!
We wanted a smaller wedding (80 people), and though The Manor has the capacity to host much larger affairs, it still felt intimate and perfect for us. Our guests raved about the gardens, the food, and the beauty of the grounds. The Manor is just classic. We were so impressed by their professionalism. No request was too silly. My bridal attendant was brilliant. The bridal suite was gorgeous, and we just felt so cared for. We never, ever felt like we were just another event, just another booking, just another guest. They really went above and beyond. I cannot recommend The Manor enough. It was everything we could have ever wished for, and more! Thank you to Roman and everyone else who made the day so beautiful, easy, and memorable. We had a perfect day, truly.
Our wedding at The Manor this past May was wonderful! The Manor did a wonderful job setting up for our big day! The Matre D and bridal attendant were there at all times helping me get ready and making sure we were well fed on our special day. The food was excellent too!
The quest for the perfect wedding venue was nearly doomed from the start. We reviewed several hotels include the Ritz-Carlton and found the service in each one more lacking that the last. Wild and somewhat arbitrary service charges continued to rear their heads for what seemed like next to no work. On a tip from our parents we decided to take a final trip to The Manor before setting our sights abroad in a destination wedding. Not only we were awed by the venue from the start, but the level of service was second to none. We decided almost instantly to go with The Manor and it turned out to be the second best decision of our wedding behind deciding to get married in the first place! The grounds are decedent, the interior equally as beautiful, the staff was friendly, proactive, and intuitive. The food was excellent. The Maitre D’ and the Bridal Attendant Gabriel (Gabby) were all we could ask for and more. In short, our marital experience was incredible in a way that would never have been possible without The Manor.
My husband & I recently got married at the Manor on May 11th, 2019 in the Virginia Room. We have no words to describe how amazing our wedding was here. Throughout the year, Jim was always a phone call away to help us with changes or kindly answering any questions & concerns. He made sure everything went according to what we had planned for our dream wedding.
Everything about the Manor was beautiful. The outdoor garden & waterfall with all the beautiful flowers truly was breath taking. The food was absolutely delicious. Until today, we have people continue to tell us how good everything was from the cocktail hour to the venetian hour!
The day of the wedding, our Maître D' & the woman who was there for myself, the bride (to help with my dress & always making sure if I needed something or help with something) were AWESOME! They were so kind & always there when we needed them!
We highly recommend the Manor for any type of event, especially a wedding! They will make your dream come true like they did for us!
-Raffaele & Anna Marzello
Rolf made our planning effortless. My bridal assistant Gabby was efficient in addressing every single detail. She was awesome!!! & 100% better than the actual maitre d, although he
seemed to attempt to do his best, as well. The food for Our cocktail hour was a lot better than the entrees but my guest didn't seem to notice because the bar & ambiance were absolutely divine. The manor provided us with an $150 gift certificate for
dinner prior to the wedding, as a taste tester. The restaurant was also absolutely delicious and also a lot better than the actual wedding entrees. Our meal was $300 so although the gift certificate helps, be prepared to pay out ya a**. The grounds are amazing for photographs. Glad we chose the Manor for our wedding venue. We had an intimate ceremony downstairs (because it was a rainy day) followed by 60 Guest in the Garden Minuet and than partied in the Dome. The Manor is pricey but you certainly get what you pay for.
What an amazing wedding venue! We were very pleased with the entire experience. From planning to execution our daughter’s wedding was a success. We received so many compliments on the grounds, the staff and most of all the buffet! We had a few tense moments with the final decision to hold the ceremony outdoors, despite a few drops of rain, and the staff was very accommodating throughout that process. They went over and above to make it a reality. Fortunately, the rain held out and all went well!
We got married 7/27/18 at The Manor. I want to start by saying that it rained on our wedding day, and therefore could not have our ceremony outside and had limited photo opportunities outside. The staff allowed us to come back the next day even though they had other weddings so we could get our photos! We are from South Jersey and had about a 2 hour commute to The Manor, but the staff made it as easy as possible to communicate via email and phone. They always responded quickly. We absolutely loved the garden and fountains! The price sounds a little high, but when you consider all it includes and the quality, it's beyond worth it. The FOOD was INCREDIBLE! People are still raving about the extravagant and delicious cocktail hour! The staff is very friendly and professional. Jennifer, the catering manager, even held my fussy 18-month-old niece for 20 minutes so my brother and his wife could be in photos. I could not recommend a better venue! Absolutely stunning and perfect!
God where do I begin
Months have gone by since we got married and it all feels still like a fairy tale.
Bottom line ROLF SHICK is the freakin man at this place and he made everything so simple - no hidden fees - all as it was - not a bit less
The Manor is and will always be a staple venue in the state of New Jersey and we looked at so many Naninas in the park couldn’t touch that place. Ever. Knolls hospitality is gourmet and the food was insanely good.
The Decor was very French château feeling or as my wife said “like beauty and the beast”
The venue was perfect - Rolf was perfect - everything was perfect hell even in October the garden we got married in was filled with flowers which was such a shock to me!
Stop looking and get married here
I was married August 5th at The Manor and I can't imagine having it any other way! It was magical start to finish! Any minor hiccups were taken care of right away. We worked with Jennifer Cooper who was excellent, she always responded to our emails. They were able to work within our budget and even negotiate pricing. Day of, our attendants were good. The Manor helped make our perfect day even better. We had our ceremony outside and it was beautiful. They even set up cold water outside for our guests. They set up our reception hall beautifully.
This review is to help future brides who may be planning on having a wedding here, on a day when there is another wedding before your party, just like what we did. Our wedding was supposed to start at 6:30. We did not have a maitre D until 6:00. Why? Because she was running the other wedding before us. Never in my dreams did I think that we would not have a maître D because she was running another wedding. We thought it was a given that The Manor would have another Maître D who would be there from the moment we got there, which was around 3:00 to put our stuff down and for photos. If I had known this, I would have never booked our wedding at the manor. We had a bridal attendant who was so sweet and tried to help us but there was only so much she could do. We wanted to take pictures in front of the water fall area below the bridge but when we got there the other wedding party was still taking photos even though their wedding was over. The bridal attendant went over to them and told them that that space was no longer theirs because it was turn for our wedding on the imperial side. The bridal attendant specifically stated, “they should not be there because their wedding is over and now it is our side since we are having the wedding on that side”.
The other wedding party did not budge, continued to take photos while my party and family members stood there stunned. I was so embarrassed. I called for the manager. He came and proceeded to tell me that everyone has the right to use the Manor's grounds, regardless of the timing of the event. If I had known this before, I would not have booked the wedding there. I just felt bad for my bridal attendant because she felt terrible for not being able to help. While this was going on the other party was still there, taking photos. That's beside the point though.
A bridal attendant will cater to your personal needs but not your wedding guests and family matters. We had family coming in early for photos, they were completely lost as to where to find us, we had no rehearsal of where the bridesmaids and groomsmen were supposed to stand at the altar until about 10 minutes before we headed out to the ceremony. It was complete chaos. I felt as if I was running my own wedding, with the help of my bridesmaids. Future brides- please, please, remember to ask if you will have a Maître D throughout the WHOLE day, not just 30 minutes before your ceremony is supposed to start. Unfortunately, this is the memory I have of my wedding day. Complete chaos. Trying to find where everything is including flower baskets for the ring boy and flower girl, leading guests who came early to head back out, etc.
As soon as the ceremony started the Maître D was with me the whole time, including the bridal attendant. Everything was fine after the ceremony started. Guests raved about the food and how beautiful the decor was (which are the two reasons why I wanted this venue so much to begin with). Nonetheless, I knew we would be somewhat stressed on the day of the wedding, but never expected that we would not have a Maître D with us, coordinating the events, with vendors, leading guests/family members who came early, etc. It’s been quite some time since our wedding day and I have thought about writing this review many times before but ultimately came to the decision to do so, in hopes that no other bride and groom will go through what we did.
The Manor made our wedding absolutely magical. Everything truly went perfectly, from beginning to end. Roman, our coordinator was so patient with my many emails, and just made everything SO EASY! Our bridal attendant, Maria, was an angel on earth, predicting every need (and even pinning up my dress when my husband stepped on the train and ripped out the bustle! I cannot say enough good things. The food was great, the venue is gorgeous, especially the ceremony space outdoors, and the staff is truly unparalleled in their customer service. Everyone had a blast at our wedding, and we have nothing but perfect memories of this day!
I do not have words for how amazingly perfect our wedding at the manor was!! Every detail was perfection. Roman is by far the nicest, most professional and amazing person to work with and created our dream wedding. We couldn’t be happier with everything! All staff at the manor were incredible and went above and beyond! Seriously look no further and have your wedding at the manor!!
Every since I was a child I wanted to get married at the Manor. I was concerned it would be extremely expensive, but I was very happy to find out that it wasn't when my fiance and I wen to visit. Everything was flexible and we were able to change things around to suite our desires and our budget. We worked with Jennifer from the beginning and she was amazing. She always answered my e-mails quickly and always saying yes! The day of our wedding was absolutely amazing. Everything was taken care of, and done beautifully. The best part about having the ceremony outside was the fact that we did not need any decorations since the gardens are so beautiful. I was able to use the bridal suite all day and get ready right there which was wonderful. Everyone raved about our wedding, from the decorations, to the food, to the natural beauty of the Manor. Our wedding was every bit the dream we hoped for!
Our wedding was perfect! From planning to the day of, everything was taken care of. Sales manager Jennifer, My bridal attendant Marialex and my Maitre D' Noemi were phenomenal! They made the day run so smoothly and made sure we had everything we needed. Marialex was by my side all day, changing my shoes, helping bustle my dress, she did it all! I don't know what I would've done without her! The Manor made our cake it was so beautiful, exactly what we wanted and the food was delicious. I wanted to get married at the Manor since I was a little girl. The whole day was a dream come true.
We had our wedding here at The Manor on May 4. Overall we were very happy we chose The Manor. It was the 9th and last place we visited looking for venues for our wedding and we are glad we chose The Manor. We were working with James in planning everything and he did a great job helping us organize everything. The ceremony was indoors and our reception was in their Imperial Room. It was a really good space for 175 people and plenty of room to roam around, we had 2 dance floor areas and 2 bars.
The star of this review is Noemi who was our Maitre D'. We met her just the day before our wedding. She was so pleasant and on top of everything!!! We were planning for an outdoor wedding...rehearsed it the day before and everything but because of the chance of rain and the humidity outside, we decided to move it in. Also, the flowers outside didn't really bloom yet so it would've looked pretty outside but not as flowery/lively as I would've wanted. We were able to do some photos outside and the First Look was outside as well. The transition was smooth and from start to finish, we felt well attended to (so did all of our guests); at the end of the night, we didn't have to go running around looking for things because everything was already nicely packed up by Noemi and her team. Couldn't have asked for a better person.
The food was also soo good! My husband's favorite part was the dessert...Baked Alaska and all the guests were also raving about it but all in all the food is delicious and NO ONE will leave hungry. The only thing we were kind of disappointed in was the cake... it was very dry but the outer design was neat.
It's so convenient that there is a bar upstairs so the after party continued there and our friends/family who wanted to keep the party going stayed.
Would definitely recommend having your wedding here! Plus, since it's a restaurant, My husband and I plan on coming here yearly for our anniversary.
The Manor did an amazing job! Our wedding was perfect, and they exceeded our expectations! The entire staff at the Manor were fantastic, they were very helpful and attentive the whole night. Our guests couldn’t stop telling us how much fun they had, that the place was beautiful, and food was delicious. The bartenders were also amazing they just kept the drinks coming. We are so happy we went with the Manor for our special day! I would highly recommend any couple to go with the Manor - it's reasonably price and you get so much for your money.
My fiance and I were looking for a venue that was not simply a "wedding factory", and when we visited the manor we knew we had to book with them. We booked the imperial room, which is classically beautiful (the pictures don't even do it justice). The food was absolutely delicious (including the cake!), and the service was impeccable! We worked with Rolf throughout the planning process, and everything was very smooth and straight forward. My bridal attendant treated me like a princess, and the entire staff was very friendly and hospitable the entire time. Their prices were extremely reasonable for everything that was included.
It’s a awesome and intimate place to have a wedding. Not modern like most places but that gives it the feel of real and tangible quality. The service is friendly and helpful. That a plus when it’s crunch time at the wedding. Everyone said they loved the food.
The experience was AMAZING. We wanted something beautiful, elegant, and still not have to stress ourselves about every little detail. The Manor and staff made it so easy. Our planner (Rolf ) made decisions easy in the planning and was flexible. The wedding day maitre' d (she was the AMAZING!!!).....I cant say enough about her. The day of the wedding EVERYTHING was taken care of and accommodating. The grounds are beautiful, just like the pictures on the website. I cannot recommend this facility & staff enough. The service and helpfulness... it was just wonderful. We wanted something for our guests to enjoy, san event worth the flights and the money/effort they took to be there...and we got exactly that. People still talking about our wedding and it was Sept 2017.
The Manor was the first venue we saw and honestly nothing else compared. Their formal garden space was exactly what I envisioned for my outdoor ceremony and the reception space and bridal suites are beautiful. From the moment we booked anyone we spoke to raved about the food and staff and they were not wrong. The staff was extremely accommodating and Jennifer Cooper was always there to answer any questions we had. The quality of the food was just above and beyond any other wedding venue I've been too. They can also do a lot of extras that not all venues can do. They made our cookie favors for us, exactly like my reference picture and so delicious. I really can't praise The Manor enough I just think you should go see it for yourself.
We had our ceremony and reception at The Manor and despite a few hiccups in preparation for the wedding, our day was flawless. The food was amazing, the space was breathtaking, I couldn’t have asked for everything to come together more perfectly.
INCREDIBLE! From beginning to end, I had the most beautiful experience. Roman was our go-to guide for everything and he couldn't have been more charming. My husband and I were treated to a delicious meal during Christmas time on the house and were even allotted a few extras for our cocktail hour on the house. The venue itself is spotless and decorated with lavish detail. My guests were STUNNED at how perfect the entire night went - from the flow of delicious foods, to the polite and warm staff. I can't wait to host future events here and would recommend them to anyone!! Thank thank thank you!!! My wedding is a night I will never forget!
We had an amazing wedding at The Manor in November 2017! The ballrooms and grounds are classically elegant and beautiful, the food was delicious and so impressive in both presentation and sheer quantity and selection, and the coordinators we worked with throughout our planning process were very helpful and accommodating. We held our ceremony in the Colonnade Ballroom, reception in the Imperial Ballroom, and after party upstairs at The Dome. All were beautiful and so much fun! The only criticism I have is that there are several weddings that take place at the same time/ or on the same day as your wedding. You will see other brides and grooms as you take photos around the grounds and will be therefore be restricted as to where you take your photos. You will also see other weddings' guests in the bathroom. Most importantly, your vendors will not have access to the space the entire day leading up to the event for set up. This worked out perfectly fine for me because my vendors were all recommended by The Manor and were used to working there, but I could see this being a problem if you bring in vendors who are not used to the venue. The service and over all experience doesn't suffer because of this but it is something to keep in mind when deciding to book at The Manor.
The Manor is a stunning venue and the staff is top notch. We worked primarily with James Levinsky and he was great. Whatever we wanted the answer was yes. I don’t think that we asked for anything extraordinary, but it was great to be accommodated for those things we did request. He responded to my emails within a couple of days at first and then within the last month his responses came much quicker. We chose the Imperial Room and Starlight Gardens for our cocktail hour and reception, the Colonnade room for our ceremony, and the Wine Cellar for our private bridal party cocktail hour. These rooms are so gorgeous on their own that they do not require much decorating. It was the perfect setting for a fall wedding. The grounds are beautiful as well, though we did not get to take many photos outside due to the afternoon rain showers. The food is amazing, you get a ton of it, and the guests were raving about it all night. My Bridal Attendant was Willene and she was incredible. From the moment she came to the bridal suite through the end of the night she was sweet and attentive. She met my every need (even those needs I didn’t even realize I had). She was calm and her presence was steadying. Naomi was our Maitre’d and she did an marvelous job of coordinating the evening. She followed our plans perfectly and I was stress free knowing that she running the show. My husband and I had a wonderful day and a spectacular night and it is because the The Manor staff knows what they are doing.
Do yourself and your guests a favor and book with The Manor. Everyone we worked with was absolutely amazing and so helpful. They made sure our day was everything we dreamed of. Jim, Naomi, and MariaAlex (I believe that was her name), THANK YOU!! Our wedding was perfect. Our guests could not stop raving about the food, from cocktail hour to the late night French fry bar! Our pictures in the garden are jaw dropping. Stop searching and book with The Manor!!!
the staff and service excellent!! My assistant was Willie and she was on point with all my needs that day. The food was good but it wasn’t hot. The cake was included in my package and it was beautiful... identical to the picture I sent them!
From the moment that my now husband and I got engaged, I just KNEW that we had to get married here. We've been here on multiple occasions, and had always thought very highly of the venue.
From the minute we first spoke with Jennifer, I knew we had made the right decision. Everyone at The Manor is extremely professional and give the best of customer care. Jennifer answered every. single. question that I had asked her over the course of the 10 months we were planning our wedding, and always did so with professionalism and class.
I cannot forget about the food; it is absolutely amazing and the cake (baked in house) was so delicious.
We took our pictures on their grounds (which are BREATHTAKING) and were accommodated for all the locations in which our photographer wanted to shoot the photos/ video.
Our wedding was everything I've could've hoped for and more, far exceeding any and all expectations. I advise any and all couples in this area to at least consider having your big day here -- you will not be disappointed!
Where to start?! We had our wedding on Monday, October 16th, 2017. First off, the grounds are STUNNING! We fell in love instantly when we did a walk-through last year when we were venue shopping. We had our ceremony outdoors, and the gardens were picture perfect with flowers and greenery all around. Our cocktail hour was held adjacent to the Imperial Room where there was a view of the fountain with windows all around. THE FOOD. The food was incredible. Our guests couldn't stop talking about the sun dried tomato gnocchi or the raw bar. They also couldn't get over the bartenders' service the entire night. Dinner was impeccable - and the reception area is stunning with all dark wood and a gorgeous chandelier over the dance floor. The entire day was run by our coordinator, Jennifer, our matridee, Washington, and out bridal attendant, Elli. They were all excellent and provided help at any and all parts of the day. Basically, you won't be disappointed with choosing The Manor as the start to your new life. If I were to do it over again, I would chose The Manor every time.
When the Jimmy at the Manor quoted us a price for our wedding, my immediate response as an accountant was, "What is the Catch?" because I could not believe the price for what we were getting. We spent that entire day comparison shopping in a whirlwind of activity, my wife is a professional researcher, so 'organized' doesn't even truly describe it. All that to say, there is no way I "miss-remembered" the prices from all the other venues. We had in fact walked into the door at the Manor and said, "well this will be a waste of time on our budget, no way this is going to work".
How wrong we were! Not only was the Manor equal to every other venue we saw, they beat them all in price. We had our ceremony outside and the space was absolutely perfect (70 degree day in late October, so we got lucky on that part!) and I think even if the weather had not cooperated it would have been a great experience, the back up indoor space is very nice in and of itself!
The staff were all nice, helpful and very accommodating for us. The bridal suite was convenient, easy, and great to use for my wife. Snacks were a nice bonus!
The food was simply out of this world, we've been to 20+ weddings and this was easily in the top 1\4, and I know some of those weddings were at venues costing much more. The key to this success is in the fact that the Manor is a restaurant year round, meaning you have on site access to excellent food and not just a nice place to have a party where the food is trucked in from somewhere else.
I can see how for some the fact that there can be another party going on in another of the ballrooms could be a downside... which I can only respond to if you were inside ANY of the spaces you would never have a clue there was a party going on. During our tasting for our food selection there was a sweet 16 going on in the upstairs location and you could barely hear anything, and that dining room we were in is smack in the middle of the entire structure! Any other room on the outside it would impossible to tell.
I cannot believe the value we got from The Manor, we had a 50,000 dollar wedding experience for a fraction of the price. Things in life that are "too good to be true" are so often that. While you might think the Manor is in this category, what separates them is their long years of experience that allows them to pass on this expertise as savings to you as a couple. If you want to have a champagne experience, but on a beer budget, I highly doubt there is a better place to host your wedding. If you want to have the ceremony there, I can virtually guarantee you won't get the same value for money spent anywhere else.
My husband and I got married at the Manor on October 07, 2017 in the Virginia room. We had the most magical day of our lives and it is all thanks to the staff at The Manor. They were amazing since day one. The communication throughout the planning process was great but when the major stress set in right before the wedding they were there with me every step of the way. Including carrying all my boxes inside for me while they had a major event going on. The staff at the Manor go out of their way in every possible way to make sure that your wedding is the most perfect day in the world and that you are stress free. Also, MaryAlex is BY FAR THE MOST AMAZING wedding assistant that there is ANYWHERE… I would HIGHLY suggest that you ask for her to be a part of your wedding. I LOVED HER! Thank you to all the staff at the Manor.
You can't beat The Manor in terms of food quality and quantity (THAT COCKTAIL HOUR) and the beautiful outdoor ceremony space. I am so glad that we chose to do our ceremony here - our photographs are stunning! The cocktail hour, reception space, and gardens are also beautiful, and the elegant entryway when you drive up to the venue really makes a grand impression. Overall, the staff were very accommodating and helpful. All of our decorations/centerpieces looked exactly as I pictured and they worked with us to make what we wanted happen. My only comments are that the salesperson was late to every meeting, and we were unable to bring in a keg of craft beer despite initially being told we could. Despite these minor things, I would choose The Manor again in a heartbeat.
The venue is beautiful, especial the courtyard where you walk down the aisle. Great for a summertime wedding. My bridal asst and Maitre D were on point and at my side every step of the way. The food was fantastic!
The event managers at the Manor were a bit slow with responses to email & returning calls but overall efficient. The service the day of by the staff was IMPECCABLE. From making sure every guest's need was fulfilled as well as making sure my husband and I got to have a taste of EVERYTHING they offered and I mean EVERYTHING. Beautiful curated outdoor space AND indoor space if weather is poor. Top of the line and totally suitable for a dream wedding. Thank you so much for making our day so extra special and memorable.
Our recent wedding this August at the Manor was FANTASTIC!!! We had our ceremony in the beautiful garden, the cocktail hour in the beautiful glass room with access to the fountains and our reception in the Regency room. The grounds and rooms were picture perfect! We took so many beautiful pictures outside in the garden, and fountain areas, we even did our first look on one of the bridges over the water. Not to mention walking down the beautiful flower covered arches that leads to the wedding alter. The food was delicious and our cocktail hour and signature drinks were wonderful. The staff was very professional and were able to accommodate all my guests needs. We were able to customize our space, include a photo booth, moving monogram on the walls, and flatscreen tv to show a video slideshow by the bar area. Everyone had a wonderful time, and we were so thrilled with our experience. The Manor made our dream wedding into a reality!!! If you want picture perfect grounds, amazing food and space, you need to have your special event at The Manor.
Our wedding at The Manor is just amazing! I always want a romantic garden wedding and The Manor def is the perfect match! We worked with Rolf along with our wedding planning process and he is always so kind and helpful!! (Big thank you Rolf!)
All our guests and us had an wonderful time yesterday. All our guests cannot stop talking about how amazing the garden and food and everything. It's just a seamless wonderful best day ever! Not to mention my wedding photos look amazing in their beautiful garden!
The Manor was amazing!! So glad I chose to have my ceremony and reception at this venue. Everything went smoothly, looked beautiful, tasted great and our guest enjoyed it all!
