or quite a while the day after the wedding at breakfast to chat. The outdoor ceremony space was perfect for our intimate ceremony, though they set up too many chairs for the number of guests we had, which looks a bit funny in photos and videos. We had discussed an outdoor bar for beer and wine for cocktail hour since we didn’t want anyone in the reception area until the reception began, but unfortunately, that bar was not set up and our guests spent cocktail hour in the ballroom rather than on the patio. This wasn’t a fatal blow to the event, but a mistake in the oversight. That said, we highly recommend this as a venue!

You are able to set up the venue yourself the day before the wedding which is something my husband and I really enjoyed doing with our friends and family and it allows you to personalize everything the way you want. Overall, I highly recommend The Mansion at Bald Hill. I’m so glad this is the venue we chose for our special day and we look forward to returning next year for our anniversary!

The decorations that we brought for our wedding were minimal because of that and it made things very easy budget-wise and logistically since we did a lot of things ourselves. Shout out to Janet, the manager of Mansion, who helped us with the logistics at the venue, so that our dream wedding plans came to fruition. From the planning process, to during the wedding itself, and even after the wedding. She was responsive all our emails, phone calls, and texts, and was helpful every step of the way. We also received a pre wedding gift in the mail from Kendra and a free room at the bed and breakfast on our wedding night when we booked our wedding. And if you like historical homes, you’ll definitely appreciate the rooms at this bed and breakfast! The woodwork is original and the furniture and decorations make you feel like a Gilded Age magnate enjoying their summer home in the countryside. What is not historic are the bright, updated bathrooms in each room, which are a plus in my opinion. Lastly, the dinner meals were amazing! The chef is great and our meals were perfectly cooked and seasoned. We didn’t have a lot of time to enjoy them(due to photos, dances, etc), but just know that your guests will definitely enjoy them. We had such an amazing experience here, I would recommend this place to anyone looking to get married.

All of our guests loved it. We had lots of changes at the end and the wedding coordinator handled it all easily. We also had our rehearsal dinner there. It was really seamless.

ms. Janet was beyond helpful and amazing and made sure everything went smoothly on my wedding day. Also every day leading up to the wedding she was on top of every detail. I even had my rehearsal dinner at the restaurant on site and the food was amazing and staff was super accommodating. And it felt very intimate. My favorite thing about this venue is it’s private and everything is in walking distance. No one had to go far at all to get from the ceremony to the reception. I could go on and on about how amazing this venue is and it’s staff. Thank you Manion at Bald Hill. My new husband and I will be back for our anniversary.

ballroom everything is just beautiful and affordable! The food was beyond amazing and the staff made sure that myself and my groom were fed and always checking in on us. Janet was a big help and also allowed me to go into the ballroom the night before to set up certain things my way. The only downfall I had was my flowers never got repurposed from the ceremony site to my sweetheart table. And my welcome sign was never brought to the ceremony site. They really need to hire another coordinator for the day of so it doesn’t all fall on Janet. Our guests are still calling us and our families asking how we found such a beautiful piece of property and how good the food was! I highly suggest this venue and we will definitely be back to stay at the mansion for our anniversaries to come!

our guests to stay inside for the cocktail hour. The staff were attentive and extremely friendly. I heard from many guests how the drinks were great and the food was delicious. The grounds are absolutely beautiful - especially at night. There is a waterfall, fire pit, a fountain, garden, etc. Lots of variety for pictures and room to run around in for young guests. The whole place is so beautiful, especially the new ceremony garden. The outdoor cocktail hour with the waterfall is so pretty as well! We also loved being able to stay right in the Mansion and get ready right on site the day of! It couldn't have been more perfect. Janet was always very responsive to all our emails. We showed up to the venue the day of the rehearsal at a time discussed with Janet and she was no where to be found. Luckily one of the side doors was open so we were able to get in and start setting everything up. One of the only things I was a little upset with was our napkins. We had rented napkins from a vendor and wanted them folded into a specific pocket fold. We had the napkins delivered two days prior to the event. I had sent a picture and was told that they would be able to do the fold we wanted. When we showed up, the napkin were just folded into a square on top of the charger plates. We were super upset! Luckily, I have the most amazing Mom and she went around and did a pocket fold to all 140 napkins. She had to do this on the day of the Rehearsal AND finish the day of the wedding. This was one of our only complaints as we made it very clear how we wanted the napkins. We even offered to pick the napkins up on Wednesday when they were delivered so we could do the pocket folds at home if they couldn't do it. But we were told they could! Other then that, the venue and everything was amazing! We also had our rehearsal dinner at the Inn and were very impressed! The food for BOTH events were very good. Although I was a little upset when my husband and I never got any food or drinks after the ceremony. The wait staff DID bring food / drinks to our bridal party but my husband and I were on a different spot on the property taking a few pictures. We never got any of the passed appetizers which I was very upset with. I feel like they should have realized that the BRIDE and GROOM weren't there when they brought the food over. But overall, we had a very good experience here and would highly recommend.

with the Mansion at Bald Hill as our venue. The food was very good and the venue is beautiful. We would have loved to use the outdoor space, but it was too chilly and windy - the ease with which everything could be adapted in response to the weather, however, was part of the beauty of doing our wedding there. They're very flexible and accommodated all of our needs/requests.

The day of our wedding Janet was there to help out in any way. Her staff were kind and had food out in a blink of an eye, passing appetizers and drinks. I wish I could do it all over again. Thank you so much for making our night (and planning) so magical.

I highly recommend this venue as well as to hire their recommended DJ Tim Daley. He was reassuring and great to work with right from the start. He is familiar with the venue and it is very clear he knows exactly what he is doing to make it a great night for everyone. The venue’s food was also amazing. Several of our guests shared compliments about the dinner and how good it was. We also had a handful of people with allergies and the kitchen was great at making us feel safe to enjoy a delicious meal. Rain or shine we couldn’t have asked for a better day!

Her punctuality in email and phone responses, attention to detail throughout the planning experience, and passion for the wedding space was incredible. Having her manage the wedding on the day of let me sit back and enjoy the day with my loved ones. We loved that the venue provides so much flexibility for a ceremony either indoor or out, beautiful grounds to take photos, and a patio space for guests to enjoy the fresh air. We could not have had a better experience and would recommend this venue to anyone!

The venue is absolutely beautiful from the perfectly kept garden and patio area where our guests enjoyed cocktail hour and to the gorgeous beams in the reception hall where everything was super clean and very well organized. The food and drinks were delicious from the variety of apps to our buffet dinner. We received many compliments from our guests after the wedding with how much they enjoyed everything. Also to mention, how well the bartenders handled the constant flow of people, continued to make great drinks and never kept a long line of people waiting. Also, we highly recommend to use Erin from Chocolate Rose Bakeshop who was recommended/works with the Mansion if you are planning to do a cake or really any desserts as she made I think the most delicious cake I’ve ever had and also made our favors - large chocolate chip cookies. We would give our experience 10/10 a hundred times over and truly recommend using this venue to anyone on their search for planning their special day. Thanks a million to Janet and her team!

e cost - our guests are still raving about the hors d'oeuvres and entrees (I didn't get to eat much, but it looked amazing!) Site cost included use of ceremony site and bridal suite for getting ready. Oh, and breakfast (the breakfast is delectable). We loved that there was no guest minimum. Site: Gorgeous grounds. Beautiful English garden for ceremony, fountains and fire pit at night. Very quiet and private! So glad that there's only one wedding per day - we felt very well taken care of. Overall: From the start, we knew that we would get married at the Mansion at Bald Hill. It's a beautiful location with superb service and value. We highly recommend!

unds first. However, no one was there to greet us. We waited for about 30 minutes and called TWICE before the sales representative came. She was not welcoming nor did she apologize for making us wait. Because we had waited for a half an hour, the rain had now started and my fiance was walking back from grabbing an umbrella from the car. Instead of waiting for him with us and getting to know us, the sales representative ran back inside and said to meet her in there. When we walked in, she was nowhere to be found. A member of the waitstaff saw our confusion and lead us to a conference room. In the conference room, there was an open laptop and someone's deposit check on the table for thousands of dollars. It was shocking to see the lack of concern for keeping clients' sensitive information secure and confidential. When the sales representative finally joined us in the conference room, we made it clear that we wanted to go tour the grounds before the rain got worse. Instead, she proceeded to walk us through the reception hall which was extremely noisy because the waitstaff was breaking down an earlier function and dragging tables across the floor. It was very difficult to hear what she was saying, so she brought us back into the conference room. She gave us informational pamphlets with outdated pricing and quickly read off every page with absolutely no enthusiasm. At this point, it was down-pouring outside and the sales representative looked out the window and said, "Oh, it's raining." My fiance reiterated the fact that this is why we wanted to quickly tour the grounds first. So what does the sales representative do? She leads us to the patio door and says, "You guys can go ahead and see the grounds. I'll keep the door propped open and you can meet me back inside when you're done." She went back inside and we went straight to the parking lot and left. I cannot believe the level of unprofessionalism we dealt with and the total disappointment that we experienced. The Mansion at Bald Hill needs a new sales representative because that is NOT how you sell a venue to prospective clients. We wanted a TOUR of the grounds. We had never been there before. I had no idea where the outdoor ceremony could be held, where the outdoor "aisle" would be, where guests would sit outside, etc. What sort of sales representative tells you to go off by yourself and look around a place you've never been? She didn't even bother to show us the mansion. Additionally, when I asked about a bridal suite, she told me "a room in the mansion would be set aside as a bridal suite on the day of the wedding, depending on availability." What in the world does that even mean? Do you reserve a room for the bride on the date of her wedding or not? My mother also asked whether the six rooms in the mansion would be available for our guests. The sale representative's response was that we would need to check the availability on the website. I'd be spending tens of thousands of dollars on a wedding and they cannot guarantee that my out-of-state guests would have rooms available? That's absurd. And one last note...before even providing the site fee or menu pricing, she told us that there's a charge of $3/per person for linens. Seriously?

we were initially having our wedding. Within one week, I was able to plan a beautiful wedding. Janet, the wedding coordinator was so helpful and she was a huge part of making our day unforgettable. The pricing was also very moderate to inexpensive in comparison to other venues. The food was phenomenal - almost everyone at our wedding has mentioned just how delicious the food was! Janet had great suggestions about hair/makeup, florists and more. I would highly recommend this venue. The one thing I would recommend is some external decorations. We had a close fiend who is so talented at wedding design that set up beautiful decorations for our ceremony and reception. Finally the cake was included in the price and I could rave enough about the cake! It was absolutely delicious - because of the rush I was not able to do a tasting yet the cake was one of the best surprises that day! 10/10 would highly recommend.

The night before the wedding the venue looked beautiful, like a Christmas Hallmark movie! The venue is absolutely beautiful and so is the restaurant where we also had our rehearsal dinner. Our guests kept giving us compliments on how beautiful our venue was, how delicious the food was, and how great the bar was! The bartenders definitely knew their drinks! We loved this place and so happy we chose it. Janet went above and beyond and we highly recommend this venue to anyone!!!

The outside amenities were extremely helpful during this time with the fire pit and fireplace. We heard nothing, but amazing compliments from our guests over the food and atmosphere. The staff were polite and approachable. We are so pleased we chose this beautiful venue and would love to relive our day again!

The dining room was beautiful and comfortable, accommodating our 86 guests, no more than 6 per table, which were 6 feet apart. Dancing was outside in a tent with a 6 piece band. Two weeks before the wedding, we never thought our daughter's and son-in-law's special day could look like this. Their wedding reception was originally planned at a venue in MA, but the Covid guidelines changed on 8/11, reducing outdoor gatherings in MA to 50 people, from 100 people. We had already reduced the size of the wedding from 200 to 100, back in July when the guidelines were changed initially. The church was in Worcester, MA, so we were able to travel to this venue in CT, where the guidelines allowed us to have close to the 100 we had planned for. We would have had to cancel the wedding if we had to keep it to 50, because our family is larger than 50, and we could not leave out family. Janet came to our rescue, after I reached out to her on August 11. She made this magical day happen in 10 days, as if she had a year in advance to plan it! She is amazing-so easy to work with, so professional and efficient and couldn't do enough for us to make it the wedding they always dreamed of! This venue is a gem!

It was an absolutely amazing experience, and our friends and family have been talking about it every since. We have had many compliments that it reminds them of a Hallmark movie wedding scene! Everything went very smoothly from the early stages of the day when we were getting ready in the bridal suite, ( Mrs Bowens Room, which was spacious enough to accommodate my 4 makeup/hair stylists, 5 bridesmaids and both moms!) to the arrival of guests, the gorgeous ceremony outside, picture perfect photography with the blooming flowers and manicured landscaping all around, and of course the reception at the newly built banquet center. We had gone to dinner a few times at the restaurant that is on the first floor of the mansion, and everything we had was simply a 5 star rating. We didn’t even find the need to do a separate tasting. We had no doubt the food selections at the reception would be the same, and our expectations were exceeded! We even had the rehearsal dinner there! Janet walked us through every step of the way and was always available to go over details or meet with us when we had questions. She was there for the rehearsal dinner, and for the entire wedding day until the very end, seeing to it that all the events transitioned perfectly. She definitely has a gift for wedding coordinating, and kept everyone cool, calm and collected before the big event. The staff was also extremely polite and respectful. I tell everyone I can about this wonderful experience, and can’t go on enough about it! It definitely made for the most memorable and beautiful day of our lives.

The outside patio is perfect for cocktail hour--luckily the weather was great so we were able to utilize that area. The food was fantastic, and at what I thought was a very reasonable price.

The attention to detail from beginning to end was impeccable. The banquet facility, beautifully landscaped grounds and ceremony site, and the delectable gourmet meals were absolutely amazing!  Everyone was overjoyed with their experience. The compliments we received regarding the wedding  were overwhelming. As one guest stated  “it was truly magical”.  We are from Rhode Island as were most of our guests. We were asked numerous times how we found this place. Thankfully, we found the Mansion at Bald Hill in Woodstock, Ct through the internet. This place turned out to be the find of a lifetime. We look forward to continuing to celebrate special occasions at this venue. They also have a formal restaurant and elegant bed and breakfast, which we also have had the pleasure of experiencing. The Mansion at Bald Hill is definitly worth the trip!
