and made sure we were happy with everything. Second, the venue is absolutely stunning. I seriously get chills thinking about how beautiful it looked on my wedding day. Lastly, when we arrived at the venue on our wedding weekend, every single staff member was so welcoming and nice. They made us feel like superstars and created such an awesome environment. I cannot brag about my experience enough. My wedding was a dream, and if I could do it all over again here, I would!

The venue is beautiful, the catering was delicious, the bartenders are awesome, and all of our guests enjoyed themselves. Becky, Katherine, and Julie went above and beyond to make our day special. They were highly organized, remembered the tiniest details, and were super communicative in the months leading toward our big day. They made sure everything ran smoothly and coordinated with all vendors which took a huge load of responsibility off of my husband and I. They made sure we were able to relax and enjoy our day and we couldn't be more grateful. I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day that we will remember for the rest of our lives.

re narrowing it down to M@CV and one other venue (UMLAUF). The M@CV was perfect on paper for several reasons: location, value, and staff. The location was perfect because we wanted to have our wedding close to Austin (great tourist destination for non-Texans), and we are Longhorns from Houston. The value of the venue is unmatched: with the rental price, we got two closets full of decor (this cut down how much I had to spend on one-time use decor and/or rentals by 90%), all the tables and chairs and steamed linens, and a team of amazing staff. I loved how the coordinators worked with me to create my vision rather than pigeon holing me into a list of required vendors (typical of most luxury venues). This flexibility allowed me to create a super personalized wedding that all our guests loved and enjoyed. (They also have all-inclusive options if that is your cup of tea.) Julie, Katherine, and Becky were so amazing at coordinating our vendors and managing everything the day of. Katherine and Becky are so attentive and made me feel like we were the only wedding they were hosting. I must’ve sent them hundreds of emails, changing my mind about things many times, but their kindness and efficaciousness translated to all parts of the wedding planning process and into how the rest of their team performed their jobs. Everyone who worked with us from the venue was so kind and genuine. Some other notable perks are the 23 on site cottages. We loved having a de facto “hotel block” where our family and friends could stay. It was so convenient and fun. The M@CV typically only books one wedding per weekend, so we could stay on site for two nights. We were able to do all the decorating on Friday, have the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, stay over then wake up on Saturday all ready to go. It was the best, un-hurried experience. Our day could not have been more perfect thanks to the Mansion and the family of people there. Every time I think of our wedding day, I am so happy about choosing the M@CV and I cannot imagine having our wedding anywhere else with any other vendor team.

n to believe it. The outdoor space overlooks the Colorado River from a bluff with pastures on the other side of the river. We said our vows just as the sun was setting and it was absolutely perfect. The on-site cottages provided a perfect place for the wedding party to stay overnight, and we kept the party going well after the reception had ended. It was a perfect day and ColaVista ensured that it was. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone who is looking to have a classy wedding or other event in the Bastrop area!

About the administration, it was super easy to coordinate everything leading up to the wedding with the owner and staff. The day of coordinators Becky and Katherine kept in contact with us very often in the months leading up to the event, helped us create the timeline, made changes with no problems, and were always prompt in replying back to questions via phone or e-mail. The day of the event, they did an amazing job coordinating and keeping everything run smoothly without us as a couple having to worry about anything. Our wedding was about 90-100 people and we think it was the perfect choice or us and would definitely recommend it for other couples

We moved the date to September 2020, but we realized two month prior that the pandemic was still not letting up so we moved the date to March 2021 and Julie, the manager, and her husband, Bobby, the pro shop manager were so amazing and so hospitable! She was so easy to work with. She worked with me with moving the dates. She did so much for my husband and I. I cannot thank her enough. Her and the coordinators, Katherine and Becky, made my wedding day run so smoothly and I got to just enjoy every minute worry free. Everything was so convenient. Our bridal party and close family were able to stay at the cottages which were only a very short drive to the mansion. We had the rehearsal there at the mansions and my in laws rented the restaurant that is available at the mansion for the rehearsal dinner. It made everything so easy.

On the morning of our wedding, almost every vendor cancelled, but Julie and Bob were there to help in any way. Not only did they cater to our every need, but they did so in a loving and helping way. Us and our guests were trapped at the venue for days after due to the ice storm, and they didn't skip a beat, they provided us with warmth and even fed us while we were there! The grounds were beautiful, the sunset magnificent along with the view, making for gorgeous photos. All the guests were amazed that Bastrop offered such a classy venue for weddings. Julie was always available for any questions or suggestions and she felt like your best friend looking out for your interests. Everything was clean and fresh and because of covid, temperatures were taken at the door before entering as we had immune compromised guests attending. Were were able to have tables inside and out and ppl were comfortable. Look no further. This venue is great!!

d planned it out for about a year and from all the vendors who we found (catering, video, photo) to the ones Julie recommended (DJ, bartenders) were just awesome. both Julie and Bobby really are the best. they were always on-point with meeting prior to the big day, getting access, day-of (thankfully weather was beautiful) into the evening, and even the next day helping make sure we left with all our belongings. the venue space itself is such a great find and getting married out on the back area overlooking the hill country.. again - it was all we could have asked for. the cottages were a huge plus as well since we had so many people coming from out of town and wanted to keep people central to one area for the days leading up. they're like basic hotel rooms that back up to the golf course and we put on an after-party down there after our wedding. i can't recommend both the venue and Julie + Bobby highly enough. meet them once and visit it and you will understand.

our big day perfect. From the first time we went to walk the mansion and met Julie and Bobby we knew that she was the one and that was the place that we wanted to have our wedding at. She was very upfront and transparent about everything from the beginning. She and I met probably a dozen times prior to the wedding to go over every detail from seating to table placement to rummaging thru the walk in closet of decor she had available for us to use. The amount of decor I borrowed cut down on the amount I had to buy tremendously and saved me a lot of money. The day could not have gone more perfect. Every thing went off without a hitch. Julie and her staff did an excellent job making sure all we had to do was enjoy the moment. She paid attention to every little detail for us and I am very grateful for that. Again we would highly recommend Julie and her staff. Thanks again guys.

Everything was so beautiful and the whole event went off without a hitch thanks to Julie, Bobby, and the rest of the wonderful staff at the mansion! They made some great recommendations for vendors and helped us walk through our ideas for decorating the mansion... it really made that part of the planning process seem so much easier! Julie worked tirelessly with me in the weeks leading up to the wedding to get the tables/seating EXACTLY how I wanted so we could maximize the space and seat all of our guests downstairs. They were so accommodating and even allowed us to come a day early to start setting up so we didn't have to worry about it all on the day of, which was a HUGE relief! It was also super convenient being able to rent the cottages on-site so our wedding party could stay close by and continue the celebration after the reception ended! Our day truly felt like a dream and I'm still amazed and so grateful that everything went so smoothly! I highly recommend this venue -- you can't beat the views or the people!

ack to August 17, 2019. Julie tried to say that she didn’t make us move it back but I still have the text. Then we were told about a bar fee in April that wasn’t in our contract. Julie said she must have told us over the phone but never did. Then at that time she wanted to charge us $10 more an hour for each bartender. We were told $25 an hour and she tried to up it to $35. That was actually in the contract so we only had to pay $25 but come to find out that her husband was one of the two bartenders, which by the way he couldn’t pour keg beer, it was over half foam. The week before the wedding she lets me know that the day of coordinated had quit. All of these great reviews revolve around this coordinator which I was really hoping and she’s what I paid for, so honestly didn’t get my money’s worth there. She took it upon herself to hire the wonderful lady that did my decor, and herself to do the day of coordinator. Well the lady she hired didn’t get a say. Julie bossed her and every other person around including myself, my husband, our bridal party and my parents. Julie took it upon herself to mess the day up. Here’s a list of the things she did or didn’t do. - Then, while we were taking pictures she put my bridal party (which was 14 people) in a room and had the lady she hired from me block them in and she told them Julie told her to stand in front of the door and not to let them out like they were caged animals. This is also the room they ate in. They had maybe 6 chairs so a lot of them ate on the floor. - She told my mom she shouldn’t have given us our refund back because they spilt stuff... what do you expect when you put 14 people in a room and lock them in there! - She refused to open another small room set up for dining guests in the downstairs area. So the extra guests that needed the room she sent upstairs...this included my uncle who just had hip surgery. This caused family to be upset and leave earlier than they intended because of the inhospitable behavior. - She also grabbed one of my groomsmen’s phones off an aux while they were waiting in that room because he was playing music. What decent human being can’t use their words to kindly ask it to be turned off. - Our last dance was announced, and before we even finished, she started pushing our photographers out and our guest. I wanted pictures of that moment and didn’t get them because of her. We spent $5,900...we were told she would be very relaxed about giving us time to get ready, then after having a few communication issues, we were told we needed to spend an extra $400 on adding two hours to our day-of time. We also spent $300 for the koozies that didn’t get handed out and none of that matters, you get one wedding day. That’s it. You get one shot at it and Julie ruined it. It’s sad because the mansion is so pretty but it’s not worth it. I’m sad that I had so much bad on what was suppose to be the best day of my life. I hope this review helps someone from picking them. I was told by my WHOLE bridal party that she was unprofessional and it seemed like it was her first time ever running a wedding. Very money hungry and bullies.

It makes the whole wedding experience engaging for guests. The bridal suite, grooms quarters, cottages on site, golf course--there so many amenities the Mansion offers that make the weekend feel like a getaway for the bride and groom, bridal party and guests alike! *Do note: if you do an outdoor ceremony, the sun sets into the valley so the sun will likely be in guests eyes, depending on your time of ceremony. BUT - it makes for a BEAUTIFUL time for the sunset after dinner that guests really enjoy (ours began at 6 pm). However, the venue is not the only thing that makes The Mansion at ColoVista an amazing place to pick for your wedding. Bobby and Julie, the owners, are willing and happy to accommodate all (reasonable) requests. Julie is kind and thoughtful in how she interacts with us as the bride and groom, as well as thinking of the guests and their experiences. Bobby is courteous and willing to help out in any and all ways he can. They also partner with Brenda Abbot Floral, who will coordinate the day, and her team does a near perfect job. All in all, we couldn't recommend The Mansion enough!

The only reason I’m giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is because the booking for the cottages could stand to be a little more streamlined, guests were confused, and they didn’t seem to have a good system to identify if a guest had called to reserve their room. Even with the hiccups that we had, Julie and Bobby were fantastic, making sure we had everything that we needed and that our day would go off without a hitch, and it did! They allowed us to come in ahead of the big day to decorate and arrange things so they would be perfect for us, and they have items available for use to help keep your budget down! We used their table cloths, and various other decor pieces throughout the venue to make it enjoyable and beautiful for our guests. They even have lawn games for use in the backyard for guests throughout the evening! We have already recommended the Mansion to friends who are looking to get married next summer, and would not hesitate to recommend over, and over again.

sues with the venue we'd originally booked, so we ended up backing out and being on the hunt for a new venue. By the time we found The Mansion, I was a complete basket case. We'd already been looking for over two weeks, and we just couldn't find something that we loved that was still available. By the time my sister mentioned she had been talking with Julie at a venue in Bastrop, I was ready to cave and just choose a venue that was functional. We called Julie and told her that we were almost two hours away, but we could meet her that evening. She graciously agreed to meet with us for an after-hours tour. As we pulled into the parking lot, not kidding, my fiance (at the time) uttered the words "oh wow." The mansion is HUGE and absolutely gorgeous. The inside is stunning, incredibly functional, with a room for everything you could possibly need. The back lawn and huge oak trees are beautiful, but none of this compares to the view from the ceremony site! We weren't even halfway through the tour before we agreed this was the place, and we were finally excited for our wedding again! Julie was amazing to work with. She put me at ease right away, and any time I had a random question, she was very quick to respond. Our original venue was a rustic, open-air pavilion on a horse ranch...so a complete 180 from The Mansion. It was really overwhelming for me to switch gears at first, but Julie was so flexible in letting us truly make the day our own. When I decided I wanted to use colored smoke bombs for photos, she was all for it! When we had some last minute inspiration and decided to hang a swing from one of the huge trees, she had no problem with it! They even let us have our dogs on the back lawn for the reception. I cannot say enough great things about the venue itself, or the people running it (Julie & Bobby). Having cottages on-site for us and our large out-of-town crowd was so nice. We were able to spend the entire weekend celebrating with our guests! When we showed up on Friday, Bobby was nice enough to give me a master key so that I could set up welcome baskets in each of the rooms. As I was putting the baskets together, Julie and Bobby came down to personally check through each of the rooms to make sure they were in good shape. They spent at least an hour doing additional spot cleaning and even spent a bit of time loving on our dogs. When one of the cottage units ended up having no hot water, they had a plumber on site within a couple of hours, and they moved guests into other rooms so that the problem could be corrected before additional guests arrived on Saturday. They really do go above and beyond to make sure everything is as it should be. We honestly could not have had a more perfect wedding, and I'm so, so glad our other venue ended up not working out! This place is truly a gem, the people running it are amazing, and I wouldn't hesitate on recommending them to anyone else I know! Without a doubt, they swooped right in and saved our day.

Working with Addison and Ryan was so easy and they took a lot of stress away from what would normally have been a very stressful time. They went out of their way to make sure we got everything we wanted and how we wanted it. We went over what we wanted it and Addison made sure it was done. Wedding coordinator, Debra and her assistant filled in for Brenda Abbott, the day of the wedding and I cannot say enough good about them. They were awesome making sure everything flowed smoothly. If you are looking for a venue for your upcoming wedding, I would highly recommend Colovista. It was the best day of my life, not only because I married the man of my dreams, but was able to have the venue and experience of my dreams as well.
