I had my wedding there, and they absolutely ruined my special day and are the most disorganized people I have ever met.
The phones DO NOT work. My guests would call to book a room ...and the lines would be busy or out of service. They’d email and get no response.
They even overcharged some guests and the rooms were so bad we actually had electric issues/which are a safety hazard and we had some guests opt to leave after our wedding, rather than stay at this horrific venue.
None of the amenities: pool, massages etc. were open and no it wasn't because of COVID. It's because they book events during the weekends, so you can't actually use it but they don't tell you this. We had some out of town guests bored out of their mind.
Unfortunately, there was a hurricane that weekend, but they said it would be OK. Every room I needed to get ready in/have my dress in had puddles and leakage. Even during the reception, some tables had leaking ceilings. The bathroom was DISGUISTING and overflowing and did I mention that the handles broke and my bridesmaids and I were stuck in the room waiting to be rescued? The venue mentioned this happens a ton.
There were no signs/coordinator to be found and no one was told where to go -- the signature drink was just never done, kosher meals or even runner. There was no seats at cocktail hour or places for people to eat.
They cancelled my room for no reason, and my mom/I had to wait in the lobby for hours and I almost missed my rehearsal dinner. Another brides guests were trying to check in & actually missed parts of her wedding, due to their efficiencies. They told me there would only be one wedding a day, there were at least three.
The hotel ended up putting me in the room that was so moldy we had to move, and the shower wasn't even working. The venue said they would move my items from one room to another, they just didn't. Several guests had to move for safety reasons. The disregard for customer care was awful. My grandparents were put in a room with stairs and my mother in law in a room literally with chairs/tables in it. When they offered a make good, the glasses with champagne either never arrived or were covered in a white gunky liquid.
The Maître d' was great, the food staff/chef and Debbie were great, but because of the nature of this venue, I think they need to move on to greener pastures, as this place is just waiting for a lawsuit. Food was also served way too late, at 11pm & coffee/tea when everyone was leaving. The food order at my after party, was also wrong.
The bar actually made my friends chug drinks, before getting another one for a friend, which is SUCH a liability. Did I mention they ran out of vodka an hour in and got rid of my flower chuppah right after, so I couldn't even get photos?
Wedding coordinator came 3 hours late, with a dead phone and was never anywhere to be found. She also yelled at my mom and could not be bothered to be at my event, until asking for a check, my mother had already written. She literally ghosted my wedding party the whole day.
I had to confirm guests and # of people at least 5 times for them, even a day leading up to my event, teaching them to count. The lack of organization here, is awful. Honestly, if I could redo it, I would pick another venue in a heartbeat, and have lost my deposit when I saw all the warning flags. During COVID, I couldn't get anyone on the phone for a year,
Worst part? After literally ruining my wedding, they gave me $500.
