This is a great place to have an event! We had such a wonderful experience with Mr. Rajeev Maini, Jose and the rest of the staff. Mr. Rajeev Maini and his entire team were extremely professional, thorough and friendly. They listened to our vision, thoughts and concern. They made our vision come to light! From the venue, set up, decorations, food, drinks, and ambiance - everything was absolutely PERFECT! We are so happy with the service and highly recommend them!
We saw three venues when we originally booked our wedding in 2018. We fell in love with the look of the Metropolitan and we decided it was the perfect place. Our wedding was originally scheduled for April 2020 and then the pandemic happened. I worked with Melissa and we moved the wedding to October 2020 and then to April 2022. She was great and made us comfortable every step of the way.
As we got closer to our date in April 2022 I started working with Rekha, one of the owners, who was equally amazing. She was so patient with our many questions. She accommodated all of our requests and finally the big day arrived.
A few days before the wedding we met our maitre'd Barbara who was fantastic. She took care of all the details of the evening and made sure that we were well taken care of. Every detail of the night was seamless thanks to the team at the Metropolitan.
After the wedding multiple guests commented that the food was fantastic. We were so happy with our wedding and we want to thank everyone involved for making this long awaited day so very special. If I have to describe my wedding at the Metropolitan in one word it would be PERFECT! Thank you so much!
I don’t even know where to begin. The metropolitan is nothing short of amazing. We originally booked our wedding for 11/14/2020 and then covid happened and we had to move our wedding back an entire year. Melissa is absolutely incredible to work with. She made everything so easy and seamless. From the moment we decided we had to postpone she could Not have been accommodating. She put our minds at ease every single step of them way. I only met with our Maitre d, barbara, the day before the wedding and we instantly clicked and were on the same page. She executed my vision perfectly and then some. She was so on top every single thing day of. She was all around just amazing to work with. They both went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect for us. The food is so delicious and we’re still eating our left overs 2 days later because it’s just that good. I can’t recommend this venue enough. My Husband and I are forever grateful for making our wedding day the best day of our lives. Rock on ladies!!!!
The Metropolitan is truly a hidden gem. My husband and I got legally married in 2020, and had to move our big wedding party to 2021. With this change, we were unable to keep our original venue. We didn’t know what to do, but after some searching found The Metropolitan. Let me tell you, I am SO glad we did! Melissa, their venue manager, was a dream to work with. The minute we met her she felt like family. She spoke with us about our vision, and made everything we wanted come to fruition. She clearly explained the cost, food, timeline of the day, etc. This was so helpful, and we loved not being surprised by any additional fees that some other venues were throwing in. Everyone thought the place was so beautiful and were so happy with how much space there was. Melissa also took the time out to help put together centerpieces for us and make sure everything was just right. Barbara, our Maitre’d, was also so wonderful. She was so sweet and helped make sure we had anything we needed. She set everything up for us the way we wanted, and her and Melissa working together made our day so special. We are extremely happy to have been able to have our wedding at The Metropolitan, and were impressed with both Melissa and Barbara. I highly recommend this venue! From the food, to the detail, to the service, to the true family-feeling, they were more than we could have asked for. We definitely want to go back to their restaurant for dinner, and we hope to run into Melissa and Barbara there again one day!
My wife and I hosted a wedding for our daughter and son-in-law. We could not have been happier with the venue we selected. Melissa was very professional, and so supportive, she exceeded our every expectation . The venue was exceptionally clean, the food got rave reviews and the staff was very attentive. A great time was had by all, thank you Metropolitan
Metropolitan Caterers at Glen Cove 10/10
Melissa was such a pleasure to work with. She helped us plan and re-plan our wedding throughout the pandemic. I was beyond amazed by professionalism. They made my day so special. Any last min request, they made them happen everything from having Easels available last minute for wedding sign and picture of bride and groom, baskets for slippers etc. The food was 10/10 everyone loved the food. Having the place for ourselves was a plus to be honest. We were the only wedding there so we felt super special. It was literally a DREAM come true for our wedding!!! Melissa (our planner) was there every step of the way, providing empathy during COVID-19 wedding planning, problem-solving solutions, fantastic vendor suggestions, amazing wedding tips. I recommend it!!!
We had our wedding here on July 10th, 2021 and let me tell you it was beautiful. I didn't have to worry about anything. My guest are still raving about the venue and the food. Melissa, the Maitre' d, was amazing. I can't say enough about this place. From the moment we walked in the morning of our wedding until the moment it was over we had to ask for nothing. Everything was taken care of. If you are looking for a place to get married then you need to check this place out. You will not be disappointed. I would do it all over again here and that says it all.
I booked the Metropolitan for my wedding in April. Unfortunately that had to be rescheduled for October 2020 due to COVID-19, but the venue was fantastic. Melissa, our contact, responded to my email on her day off. When she was back in the office she immediately called me with alternate dates.
Once we chose one she sent a revised contract and made me feel a bit better about the need to change. Fingers crossed we don't have to change again, but no matter whenI get married I want it to be at the Metropolitan!
If there is one catering hall on Long Island that is overlooked, it is The Metropolitan in Glen Cove, but it shouldn’t be. Everyone should check out this place before choosing your wedding venue. This single-event venue has style, elegance and is reasonably priced. The building has unique architectural characteristics that combine a classic and modern feel, great for on-site ceremonies and photographic moments. The staff, in particular the Director John Casale, was endlessly accommodating from the first tour to the day after the wedding. He had answers and suggestions for every question and concern we had leading up to the big day. The food by far is the best we have eaten at a Long Island affair and our guests cannot stop raving about it! The wedding went so smoothly that we got to fully enjoy every aspect of the day, which we will be forever grateful for.
There isn't enough space in this review to talk about how amazing this venue and John are. From the first time we met John, me and my husband loved him and were completely ready to book at this location. The food was absolutely amazing and unique. (No boring beef with steamed vegetable blandness at this place!) We added the short ribs and the chilean sea bass to our menu and it was a huge hit with our guests. Not a single guest had any complaints about the food, and only had compliments! The rooms themselves are gorgeous and interesting, and they make for amazing photographs. (The pictures on the internet do not give this location any justice.) All of the staff were professional and attentive. But what really was the deciding factor for us was John the owner. He is the coolest, kindest man me and my husband had worked with throughout the whole wedding planning. He honestly cared for our happiness, and was watching over the wedding to make sure things ran smoothly and guests were happy. If you want a stress-free venue where you know that your wedding is important to them, then book the Metropolitan.
The Metropolitan was the closest to perfection you can get. I was originally booked with a different venue and chose to cancel due to some management issues. When I met John he was a breath of fresh air. He was so good I thought he was too good to be true but let me tell you, he’s the real deal. I loved working with him and everything was so convenient. My guests were raving about the food and abundance of it all night. I’ve even had comments of it being the best food they’ve ever had. My maitre’d, Barbara was on it!! She coordinated everything and all of my things that I brought with me to set up beautifully. Maritza was my bridal attendant. She was with me the majority of the time but went missing once in a while when I could’ve used help but nothing crazy.
If you’re booked here you’re in great hands! If you’re still looking for a venue check this place out!!
The food is amazing and John will make everything perfect for you. I had a wonderful time planning with him and they handled everything perfectly for the day of. I highly recommend.
The Metropolitan was the best choice we could have made for a wedding venue. From start to finish, John was amazing. He gave us a tour of the venue and we booked it the next morning. We invited our family for the food tasting and they were sold immediately. We had a blast picking out the menu especially since John always had something new up his sleeve. The day of the wedding the photographer forgot to leave flowers for the cake, John said not to worry he would make it work. 10 minutes later we had a beautifully decorated cake with flowers from our centerpieces and no one had any idea! Barbara was also an angel! I was so nervous how things were going to look the day of since I just left her with a bunch of boxes of stuff and when I walked in I was speechless! She just knows what to do to make everything beautiful. At the end of the night everything was packed up and ready to go - including the delicious food. My bridal attendant was also so sweet - talking to me while the guests arrived to keep my nerves down, always asking if I needed another drink or if there was something she could do for me. We have absolutely zero complaints and would book the Metropolitan in the future for other parties.
Married in July 2018.
Firstly, I am an asocial anti-bride (I nearly begged for a courthouse wedding, refused to have a bridal shower or bachelorette party, was not terribly interested in the planning process, groaned regularly, hid, etc.), so when I say that a five-star rating is nowhere near enough, I mean it.
The venue itself is very attractive, clean and well kept, and the food is amazing! We have been to other weddings during which the quality of the food gradually declines throughout the course of the evening, but we experienced consistent quality during the entire event (buffet style due to numerous dietary restrictions). The food was always hot and our servers were very polite.
Aesthetics aside, this is the only venue that my husband and I visited that actually made me excited about the prospect of having a "real" wedding. Throughout the planning process, were treated like people instead of customers. We never felt as though we were pressured or rushed to make a decision, and never experienced a "take it or leave it" attitude. Melissa, Barbara, my bridal attendant and our entire waitstaff for both our rehearsal dinner and reception were kind, attentive and accommodating. Beyond our events, Melissa was extremely supportive during a personal crisis and made sure that our special day (happened, period) was spectacular.
I could continue to go on and on about the venue and the food (both of which I, my husband and our families were blown away by), but I feel that the quality of the staff is equally, if not more, important and needs to be recognized. Being treated like a human and not just yes-ed to death because I'm the bride made me feel respected and like my opinion really mattered. Melissa and Barbara strategized with us so that our evening was well coordinated, fun and went smoothly. We cannot thank them enough for their compassion and hard work, and will definitely put The Metropolitan at the top of our list of venues that we recommend to engaged couples!
Where do I even begin to sing all the praises to John, Barbara and the entire staff at the Metropolitan! When I say that everything was perfect, I sincerely mean it. My family and friends left our wedding calling it the wedding of the year! The food was amazing and plentiful! John made sure that our vision was carried out and that the night was a success! Everything was perfect!! And that's just the venue and the food. The staff was super attentive to all our guests and made sure my groom and I were well taken care of. John accommodated our requests and ensured that everything was perfect. Last but definitely not least Barbara, who made this type A bride feel at ease! She was there for every second of it. I had so many little details that I wanted at the wedding and she made sure every thing was executed perfectly! My groom and I actually enjoyed our wedding; we ate, drank, danced, all because everything was taken care of and going smoothly! You cannot go wrong in entrusting one of the most important days of your life in the hands of John and the The Metropolitan! Eternally grateful!
My son married his girlfriend here this weekend (5/27/18) and EVERYTHING was perfect!! The food was delicious!! Even my 92 y/o Mom loved her leg of lamb. John was easy to deal with and very accommodating. Barbara was the Maitre'D and she was outstanding!! Anything that I asked for was done in minutes!! She kept checking on us to see if everything was to our liking and if there was anything else that she could do!! I highly recommend this venue!!
May 27th,2018 was the best day of our lives and The Metropolitan made it that much more special! From the start John made us feel like we were home, beginning to end he was right by our sides! Barbara and Merna made us feel so taken care of and made the night so so smoothly. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The food, atmosphere, and staff are just perfect! Don’t think twice, if you want a wedding that everyone talks about, use The Metropolitan!
John is amazing and SO accommodating! He was willing to provide any services within his reach.
The guests loved the venue and raved about the food!
My wife and I got married at the Metropolitan on 1/14/18 and it was our dream wedding. Thanks to John and the staff at Metropolitan all our wishes came true for our special day. John’s staff were absolutely amazing, everything from food and drinks for the wedding party while taking pictures to a special order of pigs in a blanket for those picky eaters.Throughout the wedding planning process, John was honest, easy to talk to and put his expertise to make our day extra special. Let’s not forget that he responds to (many) texts during the day or night. The food is out of this world! All of our guests have been raving. We had around 120 guests and there was plenty of room on the dance floor and around the whole venue. Note: If you are having a wedding in the colder months and are worried about pictures, Don’t worry!!! Our photographer set up upstairs and captured some amazing pictures .This place is so classy, elegant and romantic. I have nothing bad to say about the Metropolitan, highly recommend! P.S. this review is from someone that works in the DJ Entertainment field and have seen more than most bride and grooms!
From the moment my husband and I stepped foot in the Metropolitan we knew we had found our reception venue. John was a pleasure to work with. He made us feel taken cared of every step of the way, especially if we had any worry or concern. John is very amicable and personable, we really could not have asked to work with a better person. The Metropolitan itself is quite elegant and we loved that it does only one event a night. The food was incredible, every single guest was ranting and raving about how amazing the food was from start to finish. John and his staff made us feel like a million bucks. Our only wish is that we could do November 3, 2017 all over again and for longer. Best decision we made.
First of al the food was simply amazing !!!!
Cocktail hour was great , with extremely plenty and highest quality appetizers/ Hors d'oeuvre , and high -end branded liquor
Everyone is still speaking about the cocktail hour!!!
The atmosphere in the main dinner room was very warm with the uplighting and the table elegant decorations
The 3 course dinner was also very tasty
Best DJ in town from variety DJ .... no one sat on their chairs for much time !
Best cake I have eaten for years from Huntington
Metropolitan delivered quality , attention to details , and a memorable event !
My wife and I are so elated that we chose The Metropolitan to host our wedding on Oct 14, 2017. From start to finish John and his staff made everything we asked for possible, with the minimum amount of stress. The day turned out even better than we could ever envision . . weeks later our guests cannot stop raving about the food and warmth of the venue. It exceeded all of our expectations on this most special day.
My husband and I got married at the Metropolitan on 10/28/17 and it was the most amazing fairytale wedding. Every vision that I had of what my wedding day would be came to life thanks to John and Barbara! The venue is absolutely beautiful and for the night it felt like home because they were so accommodating to how we wanted every detail! Throughout the wedding planning process, John was such a breath of fresh air to deal with. He responded immediately to all of our (many) texts.. always made sure we were getting exactly what we wanted.. never tried to get extra money out of us in fact worked very well with our budget. The food is out of this world! All of our guests have been raving. My old-school Italian 90 year old uncle said the fish bar at the cocktail hour was the best he's ever seen or eaten. We had around 155 guests and there was plenty of room on the dance floor and around the whole venue. We even sat some upstairs and were worried that they would feel left out but they all LOVED it. We got the best pictures from them up there as well, and they were down on the dance floor all night anyway :) This place is so classy, elegant and romantic. I have nothing bad to say about the Metropolitan, highly recommend!
Excellent service. We loved working with John and Melissa. Our wedding was beautiful. Everything was perfect!! All of our guests kept bragging about how amazing The Metropolitan was. The food was excellent. We also thank the chef for accommodating all of our food requests and vegetarian options. We would recommend The Metropolitan to everyone looking for a beautiful wedding with a great ambiance.
My husband and I had our wedding here two weeks ago and man oh man I don’t even know what to say. Not only was the staff so incredibly kind, supportive, and friendly...the food was AMAZING!!!!! All my guest kept asking about the venue. John and Barbara went above and beyond their roles to give my husband and I a night to remember. For that we are both so grateful. John I will be seeing you soon for further babies and birthdays!!
Love always

Words cannot express the gratitude I have for John, Melissa and the entire Metropolitan staff. My wedding was the PERFECT event for all who attended, but most importantly for me and my new husband. Planning destination wedding was a huge challenge, but all of the anxiety and fear was eliminated because of the dedication, professionalism and care that John and Melissa invested in making this day special. The place itself was more magical than I ever envisioned. They took the time to listen to my ideas and executed it with grace and ease. The food was absolute perfection-the guests could not stop speaking of the quality and quantity served and literally exclaimed it was "top notch" From start to finish, The Metropolitan made my wedding the event of a lifetime! I am so grateful I found them and chose this venue to host the most special day in my life.
4 Days later and I am still hearing compliments for the The Metropolitan from my guests. They cannot stop raving about the food. The food was "great, amazing, bangin, so good, delicious, on point." The amount of food, more than enough. Drinks also on point!
The decor, the set up, the overall look, very "classy, elegant, fancy, not your typical catering hall, different, beautiful."
The Bride (me) and Grooms feedback - A M A Z I N G. We are still on cloud 9. John had us at hello a year ago. He was funny, friendly, welcoming, and honest. He kept us at ease from the first meeting, throughout the year and the critical last month. He was very flexible and offered great suggestions as we planned out our day. And sooo responsive to our emails and texts.. lots of texts, ha ha.
Barbra, our maitra'd was A M A Z I N G. Very sweet. Got things done. Handled our last minute changes (order of events, ie. dances, cake cutting, etc.) with such ease and smoothness and kept everything running and flowing smoothly. Maritza, our bridal attendant, was super sweet and very attentive. Made she we were hydrated and assisted with my dress multiple times throughout the night.
I was soooo happy with the evening, it was perfection.. not just my opinion but what I've heard from my guests.. and i had a couple of hard to please guests.. who would tell me if something wasn't up to their standards.. they all had nothing but great things to say. I am soo happy we went with John and his team. Not a single disappointment. Not one.
Thank you John. Thank you Barbra. Thank you Maritza. Our day was perfect because of you.
There are not enough words to describe how unbelievable The Metropolitan was! We had our wedding there three weeks ago and it was absolutely amazing. The venue itself has a classic, yet modern feel. The Metropolitan was the last venue we went to visit and it's as though the best was saved for last. Not only did it have the vibe that we were looking for, but it was also affordable. The food was absolutely delicious. Our guests continue raving about how amazing the food was. Barbara, the maitre d', was wonderful! When we came to drop off our things at The Metropolitan, she was taking notes about how we wanted it displayed. She also gave great suggestions. Barbara helped that night go smoothly, without us having to worry about a thing. We had the pleasure of working with Melissa. She was absolutely wonderful to work with, as she answered all of our questions (and we had a lot). We appreciated how honest Melissa was about whether or not we should make upgrades in certain areas. Melissa was professional and friendly. We loved the Metropolitan and would highly recommend it! Thank you so much to everyone at The Metropolitan!
I can't say enough of good things about The Metropolitan. Our wedding was last night and it was absolutely amazing. John was a pleasure to work with from the beginning. He made sure all of our requests were taken care of. He is very easy to talk to and work with. He gave me his cell phone number and would respond quickly to every text I sent him. Just amazing. The food was out of this world! The cocktail hour, the dinners and the Viennese table were unbelievably delicious. Our guests will be talking about our wedding for a long time. They have been texting and calling us all day about what a wonderful time they had. The venue is beautiful. We seated some people upstairs and they loved it up there. My husband and I loved seeing people overlooking our wedding from the top. The whole night was a dream come true. The staff was so kind and helpful and patient. Our maitre d (Barbara) and my bridal attendant (Maritza) were phenomenal. I wish I could give more than five stars. We had our dream wedding thanks to John and his whole team. We really can't thank them enough. Just amazing.
We had our daughter's wedding ceremony and reception for 175 people on March 26th. John was amazing from the first time we visited the venue all the way through our event! Barbara was outstanding on the day of the wedding making everything easy and wonderful! Food, staff, after party at location..EVERYTHING amazing!! Could not recommend more!!
My Daughter's Wedding Was Magical, A Fairy Tale 💖
Melissa, John and Staff phenomenal!!
The BEST FOOD, Classiest Venue Bar None...Memorable and Unforgettable 💖💖💖
What else can you say besides absolutely magnificent. From the moment you walked in until the very last minute John and his staff were nothing but acomodating, friendly and the food was five star quality. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a beautiful and majestic place for the perfect fairy tail wedding. Thank to the metropolitan for our perfect fairy tail wedding!
I'd like to start by telling you that The Metropolitan is an awesome place to have a wedding. From the atmosphere to the service to the food everything was top notch as we also had our cermony there, but our story goes deeper.
We visited The Metropolitan in April and fell in love with it right away. The manager, John Casale made us feel very confident that we would be choosing the right place. We set a September 3, 2016 wedding date and we're working hand in hand with John (we had him on speed dial) right up until two days before wedding.
On that Thursday September 1st, we had a family tragedy as my fiance's brother unexpectedly passed in the middle of night. I reached out to John around 7 am asking him to contact me asap. Within minutes he was on the phone advising me to tell my fiance to not worry about a thing, that we were like family now and he would take care of everything. The stress on that end melted away and we were able to deal with our loss knowing that The Metropolitan was in our corner.
The following week we picked back up with John, reset our date for Oct 6, 2016 and it was seamless. We did not lose one penny.
When John said we were like family now I didn't realize how serious he was but that is exactly what we consider the whole staff. Our maitre d'
Barbara, kept everything moving along smoothly on our day, the bridal attendant was at my wifes side throughout and every guest that we have spoken with loved this place. The food is out of this world, cocktail hour and reception.
I know that I went on a little long but that is how impressed I was.
THANK YOU SO MUCH
METROPOLITAN!!!!!!!
We had our wedding on 10/21/2016 and had the best day ever at the metropolitan. John the banquet manager was the best. He made the whole planning process so easy and stress free. Barbara the maitr d was wonderful. The night of the wedding We didn't have to worry about a thing. We were able to relax and enjoy it all. My guests are still commenting on how great the food was and how beautiful the venue is. I highly recommend the metropolitan!

My husband and I had our wedding reception at The Metropolitan on July 16, 2016 and it was the best day of our lives. After looking at several wedding venues on Long Island, no other place could compare to The Metropolitan. Other venues we visited made our wedding feel strictly like a business deal. This was not the case with The Metropolitan. John Casale, the manager, was extremely accommodating and flexible with pricing, availability, and food choices. He gave us his personal cell phone number and encouraged us to contact him with questions and concerns whenever we needed it. We used it several times and he promptly responded. He was incredibly personable, friendly, and easy to work with throughout the entire process. John’s relaxed, calming and humorous demeanor is exactly what a bride needs during the stressful time leading up to the wedding. John’s kind heart is in what he does and you can see he genuinely cares for his brides and grooms. When John asked me how I was doing at the end of Cocktail Hour, I told him I did not have a chance to eat. He packed up several boxes of food from the cocktail hour for me to take home. Not to mention, included a special Polish station at my wedding for my Polish family guests who were attending. Barbara (the Maitre’D) was extremely attentive to our needs during our reception and is phenomenal at her job as well. Not to mention the entire wait staff and bridal attendant who are highly trained and very good at their jobs too.
Besides the exceptional service and staff, the food is absolutely AMAZING! From the exquisite displays at cocktail hour to the dinner menu, The Metropolitan provides delicious, high quality cuisine. The atmosphere is classy and elegant. Our guests can’t stop raving at how amazing our wedding was at The Metropolitan. If you want to be taken care of and have the wedding of your dreams too, book with the Metropolitan! It will be the best decision you make. Thank you John and staff for making my wedding day spectacular!!!
I had my wedding at The Metropolitan on July 9th and it was everything I could have possibly dreamed for and more! I am not one for writing reviews; however, the service that John (the manager) and his staff provided was truly outstanding! When we met with John the first time, he was so warm and inviting, we felt like we had known him for years. He also has a great sense of humor and is willing to work with you. John is a true professional with a big heart and John’s staff is equally as fantastic as he is! Every time I called with a question or concern, the staff was friendly and always made sure to get back to me within a timely fashion. It was important to me to book with a venue that I could easily get in contact with. Barbara, our Maitre D’ was incredible!! She was so efficient and polite. Barbara is an absolute angel who is exceptional at her job! As a bride, you are in such good hands at the Metropolitan! The night of the wedding went so INCREDIBLY well! I can’t tell you how many people, on both sides of our extremely hard to please families, are still raving about how much fun they had and about how great the food was. The cocktail hour at The Metropolitan IS TO DIE FOR! The caliber of food served and the display is UNBELIEVABLE! Because people were enjoying themselves so much on the dance floor, they were late getting to their tables to sit down for dinner. So many people said that they LOVED that The Metropolitan kept their food covered so it stayed warm and fresh for them; they had never seen such attention to detail before and truly appreciated the gesture. The food was delicious and plentiful, people enjoyed every last morsel! Our experience with John and his staff was nothing but AMAZING. They provide unbelievable, personalized service and I would choose The Metropolitan 1,000 times again! If you’re a person who enjoys great food and a pleasant and professional staff, book with them A.S.A.P., you won’t be disappointed!
Our 5/7/16 wedding was absolutely perfect thanks to John and his amazing staff! They are so accommodating and their attention to detail is fantastic. Our guests were blown away by everything, especially the delicious and abundant food! I HIGHLY recommend them, 5 stars not enough!
If I could give The Metropolitan 1,000 stars for our 04/24/16 wedding, you can sure bet that I would!!! Where to begin? I was drawn to The Metropolitan initially due to them strictly having one event at a time, that for me was a HUGE DEAL! From the minute my husband and I walked into the hall and met with the banquet manager John for the first time, we just felt a connection and knew this would be where we get married!! John was just so friendly, funny, relaxed, and accommodating to everything we wanted!! After we booked our date, we were invited back with both of our parents to have our food tasting, on VALENTINES DAY, and were assured if we didn't like the food and didn't want to continue that we'd get our deposit back! Now that's serious! Needless to say we were more than pleased, hands down some of the best food we'd ever had...and all 6 of us left with full bellies and huge smiles!!! Fast forward 10 months later to our big day!! I have to acknowledge not only John, but also Barbara - our maitre'd, and Tiffany - our bridal attendant...as this team was absolutely so amazing to work with, just so relaxed, efficient, fun, and just a pleasure to be around!! They really helped make our day/night go so smoothly...and they made it look SO easy!! And being our party definitely got a bit crazy...they took everything in stride!! The venue is just so elegant, very modern-looking...we didn't add any extra decorations other than the center pieces, as nothing else was necessary. They have up lighting in every color imaginable so no need to have your DJ charge you more for that! Also adds nicely to whatever ambiance you might like. And of course...the food was absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! We had a series of stations for cocktail hour, including a Mac and cheese bar, a corned beef carving station, Mediterranean, and many others. Main course options were salmon, chicken, pork loin, beef sirloin, plus a vegetarian option! And then they gave bride and groom a surf n' turf (filet mignon and lobster tail)!! Everything was just incredible, every single guest is still giving me compliments on the food!!! The cake came from Dortoni Bakery in Levittown, and if you're from Nassau County, you KNOW how good their cakes are!!! And we had the ice cream sundae bar, which I personally wish I would have had more of, but hey that's what happens when you're the bride, you're dragged in 10 directions at once!! Luckily they made sure to send us home with 1 of each meal, plus all of the desserts!! We could not have asked for a better day, a better staff, better food, and a better venue!!! A million thumbs up to you...absolutely incredible!!! I certainly hope to be able to come back and enjoy the Metropolitan as a guest for someone else's wedding!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
PERFECT! We had our wedding on 4/30/16 and it was amazing! From beginning to end, it was such an amazing and incredible experience. Where do I begin! First off I have to give many thanks to John (Manager), Melissa (Event Coordinator), Barbara (Maitre D), Tiffany (bridal attendant), the wait staff and chef for doing an amazing job! At the end of the night, I was so happy and grateful at how beautiful and perfect everything was, all I could do was cry from happiness as I hugged John. He was such a pleasure to work with, he was so patient, understanding, funny, honest, and willing to work with you. He made you feel like family and he took care of us like we were family. Melissa is hilarious and so much fun to work with! Both her and John made the ultimate team to create the perfect night for my husband and I.
The Metropolitan upon entering has such a perfect combination of elegance, beauty, and modesty that there was no need for any extravagant decorations. I only had my florist decorate the balcony and staircase with bows and some flowers, as I did not want to take away from the venue itself.
The food was amazing! We had several stations including a mashed potato bar and a Latin station, which we asked to have and John made it happen. Each guest left full and happy. Even my nephews who are gluten free and are particular with their food, ate EVERYTHING! My guests are still talking about how much food there was and how incredibly delicious it was. We even had an ice cream sundae bar which was amazing and our wedding cake, white cake with vanilla and chocolate mousse, was to die for! Many of my guests said they normally don’t like wedding cake but ours was scrumptious! John even allowed my mother in law to bring cookies in for dessert!
We also had a 2 hour after party in the downstairs portion of the Metropolitan! We had a “greasy buffet” which included mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers, fries, and chicken wings AND an open bar. We were also able to bring cigars to smoke outside on the patio. It was the perfect end to a perfect night.
Barbara was awesome to work with! She was on point with everything and made sure everything ran smoothly. My bridal attendant Tiffany, was amazing! My glass was always filled and she made sure we were taken care of! The wait staff and the chef were also on point with everything! They were very professional and so attentive! I did not have to worry about anything.
Overall I would give the Metropolitan 100 stars because that’s what they deserve. My Wedding was Perfect and I would not change it for the world. It was by far a fantastic and extraordinary wedding night. Thank you Metropolitan!
Just had my New Year’s Eve wedding at The Metropolitan. If you’ve started looking at Venues great – now make an appointment with John at The Metropolitan. From the minute I sat down with John-I knew. He knows what he’s talking about and has an answer to all of questions. Why? Because he’s a master at planning and organizing. He realizes that you are his client and goes above and beyond to make your plans become a reality. He’ll give you his cell number. He becomes a friend. He even helped me with the menu, guiding me with his expertise. The staff was amazing. I couldn’t believe it when I saw all my stuff put into place that night. Barbara handled everything as though it was her own party. She’s amazing. From my centerpieces, to my signs, to my candy buffet wishes – she granted all of them. She would even give me a heads up when she thought I needed to know something (20 minutes to food/20 minutes to cake, etc) As for the food – unbelievable. I had guests calling me and texting me the next day to let me know what a great time they had and they couldn’t stop raving about the food and the service. Call John and set up your appointment. You won’t be sorry.
Our wedding was PICTURE perfect and the Metropolitan NAILED it - every step of the way. Melissa, where do I start with Melissa. She is the Metropolitan's event coordinator who practically became our wedding planner and I now consider a friend. She is so sweet, genuine and great to work with. Any time we called or popped in, she was there to give us advice and answer any questions we had. One thing we loved about the Met when we started looking at venues was they never tried to "sell" us to get married there. Not pushy at all. It was the first venue we looked at and I knew then, it was the place for us. It just felt right and had good vibes. The food was OUTRAGEOUS. If you are a foodie, like myself, I suggest you get married here. Our guests are still raving about the food as well as the to die for wedding cake. Barbara was our Maître D the night of the wedding and she was a Rockstar. She ran the show and anything we requested, she made sure it was done. Melissa & Barbara were the perfect team for our wedding and we couldn't have imagined working with anyone else. As for the decor, it is very classy and elegant. It feels like you are in Manhattan without being in Manhattan. Very high ceilings, there is a loft space, wood floors - it was completely our style. We took pictures at Morgan's Park which I highly recommend as well as they came out breathtaking. It was the best night of our lives and we are already ready to renew our vows here in 20 years! A special thanks to the Met for making it perfect...
When me and my husband got engaged, I researched online different venues for weeks before we started visiting them. I was looking for pricing, food and just best over all rating. The Metropolitan didn't come up much but I saw a few pictures and I thought we should give it a try, because why not? When you show up the outside is all brick (came out amazing in our one on one pictures). Right when we walked in we had a good feeling about it. They had marble tables with beautiful candles, mirrors and branches covered with gems. A piano at the end of the hallway, where we ended up putting our place cards, which was different and elegant. We met with the owner right away and he made us feel like family. Super easy to talk to. So obviously after that meeting we made our next appointment for the food tasting. Lets just say before we left we signed the papers to have our wedding there. Coming from an Italian family, food is VERY important and they did not disappoint. October 17, 2015 we got married. We had our ceremony on site as well. It was beautiful, well organized and totally warm, comfortable; like us and our closest 190 friends were just hanging out. Cocktail hour was perfection. there was so many food options. They have it upstairs on the loft (if you have your ceremony on site). once every made their way up there, there was more then enough room for everyone and for us to make our rounds. Reception was amazing. everyone had a great time and a ton of people came up to me asking how i found the place. The food is to die for. For the menu we had mozzarella and roasted pepper salad to start, then a choice of grilled chicken dijon, salmon allemande and braised ribs of beef. I 100% recommend the braised rib... it was my and my husbands favorite (he was thinking about it since the tasting). We got such amazing feedback from our guests on the food and that was very important to us. It was really just an magical day and the owner and workers really did an amazing job to make that happen.
We are so very HAPPY that we chose the Metropolitan as our wedding venue.John Casale our banquet manager promised us that everything will go smoothly and Yes it did.Our guests are still raving about the food and the service. The maitre d Barbra was amazing
and the waiters were all on top of the game. The night was truly a memorable night that we will never forget.
We don't even know where to start!! The Banquet manager John is amazing. From the moment we met him he treated us like we were apart of his family. The maitre d' Barbara was amazing as well she was organized and not a moment passed through out the night that she wasn't apart of. The rest of the Metropolitan staff was awesome as well. Our guests are still ranting and raving about the service how amazing the food was and the fact that there drinks were never empty. John set up a tasting for us and the food was exquisite. Metropolitan is very affordable . The event space is amazing and a very well spaced and designed room. The room looked just how my wife and I pictured it. Not one person said anything negative about the food venue or service. When it came time for us to eat John had a special meal for us both that was not on the menu. There is also food for you to go home with at the end of the event. John takes care of every detail and makes you feel like home while doing it. There is not a day that he can't be reached to answer a question and his responses are always quick. We look forward to planning future events with John And his staff . You should rank the Metropolitan #1 on your list!!
We just had our wedding reception on 10-16-15 and we received nothing but positive feedback from our guests. John, the manager was amazing and followed through with all of our requests . The food was delicious and top quality! They have definitely exceeded our expectations! We had international, and event planners as guest and they too raved about the place, service and food! My husband and I will definitely hold an another event at the Metropolitan! Thank you John and Barbara (matre d) for everything! You truly made our dreams come true!
Five stars is definitely not a high enough rating for this incredible venue. The comments from all our guests said our wedding in a nutshell was off the charts. We certainly would recommend The Metropolitan to anyone planning a wedding in the future. The staff at The Metropolitan were exceptional and they made our wedding day even more special.
We had our wedding at the Metropolitan over Labor Day weekend, 9/5/15 (Saturday) - ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, the whole shebang, for 160 people. From start to finish, John (manager) was spectacular and super responsive to questions and accommodating to requests "Don't worry, we'll take care of you!" was his moniker. We were well taken care of, and couldn't have been any happier with our wedding. Some highlights:
The Space: This is a one-wedding-per-night venue. For 160 guests, it was very comfortable. There are two ballrooms: (1) the main reception room, with 2 floors, where dinner and dancing take place; and (2) the ceremony/smaller ballroom where we had our photobooth and second bar. The smaller ballroom makes for really spectacular pictures for the ceremony. There is also an outdoor patio area for breaks and smokers.
The Food: Our guests raved about the food - the Met really didn't skimp on the quality or quantity. Some cocktail hour shout-outs included the lamb leg (carving station), the mussels, the calamari and tuna bites. The cocktail hour came with buffet stations as well as passed hors d'oeuvres. We appreciated John's honesty in that he didn't try to up-sell us on the any of the menu "add-ons." He worked with us to provide a customized cocktail menu. As for the dinner, we were allowed to pick 3 entrees from a wide selection. One of the entrees, the steak, was actually medium rare (and tasty)! For the bride and groom, we had our pick of any entree choice (including add-ons) for no extra charge. I had the sea bass, which was phenomenal. My husband had the surf and turf - the whole lobster tail was huge and cooked to perfection.
The Staff: Barbara, the maitre d', was super helpful. I had no idea what to do at the ceremony and she just gave us marching instructions during the rehearsal, an hour prior the wedding. Because of her, everything was smooth sailing. The bridal attendant was very attentive, running around to get the bridal party coffee, ice water, and platters of food when we were getting ready. The wait staff were friendly and accommodating. At the end of the night, the staff packaged the rest of our wedding cake, our leftover dinners, AND one of each of our 3 entrees that were offered to our guests. That was a very nice touch.
The Bar: Our package included 2 open bars, top shelf (the good stuff), all night long. They also passed out champagne prior to the ceremony. They also allowed us to do shots, which many venues do not allow. The bartenders were super friendly.
The Value: In searching for a venue in Long Island, we checked out the Swan Club, The Inn at New Hyde Park, Fox/Crest Hollow, and Glen Cove Mansion. They all quoted pp prices that were higher than the Metropolitan for a Saturday night. The Metropolitan beat all of them in terms of value for space, quality and service.
Thank you John and everyone at the Met for making our special day a memorable one!
We loved the Metropolitan. We wanted a 1 event at a time venue and this was perfect. John was amazing the entire step of the way. He gave us his cellphone number to call or text him so he could get back to us right away if we had any questions.
The food was AMAZING. I am a bit of a food snob and I loved it. Everyone was talking about how good the food was and how much food there was. The short ribs are so good, everyone should put them on their menu no one was disappointed with them.
There was 1 very minor mishap with my aisle runner but other than that the day was perfect. I was preparing for some issues and it went so smooth.
Prior to visiting the Metropolitan, my fiancé (now husband) and I were turned away by many venues because we were planning a smaller wedding on Valentine's Day. We began to get discouraged when I heard about the Metropolitan. I walked in without an appointment and John, the manager met with me on the spot. He wasn't concerned about our small guest list and invited me back with my fiancé for a food tasting. At the food tasting, he served us and got to know us. He really helped us in every way during the planning and the day of the wedding. Everything was beautiful. The food was spectacular and the staff was amazing. Our guests couldn't believe the amount of food that was served and how delicious it was. I would recommend the Metropolitan in a heartbeat. Each time I drive by there I smile and wish I could relive that day all over again.
We recently had our wedding reception at The Metropolitan, and it was nothing short of amazing. The banquet manager John C. and maitre'd Barbara were fantastic. We got text messages from friends and family for days telling us how amazing the venue and food was. We couldn't be more satisfied with our wedding reception! Thank you so much for an incredible day!
On April 19, 2015 we had the most wonderful post wedding party at the Metropolitan! From the minute I spoke to John I knew that the wedding would be wonderful. He was very helpful and I felt happy to be able to find a perfect place for our celebration. My daughter had her wedding in California and I wanted to share our joy with our New York family and friends. It was a wonderful night!
John (the banquet manager), Barbara (maitre d) and the whole staff at the Metropolitan were so wonderful to work with; they really put our minds at ease with planning our wedding and took care of any special requests we had wanted for the big day. I will always remember John telling us "all you have to do is show up and enjoy the day, we will take care of everything", and truly everyone did.
Venue: we liked that we were the only wedding being held there; guests were able to move from the upstairs cocktail event (which overlooks the entire reception room), to the reception room below, also to the adjacent room which held our ceremony and later into an area where our photobooth was set up and extra bar and tables for people to relax and chat. The venue accomodated our 160 guests pretty comfortably.
Food: everyone raved at how amazing the food was! cocktail hour had so many options and we even got to sample a few items back at our bridal suite. Dinner was delicious, Barbara even packed us some food to take home which I thought was so sweet.
We had an amazing evening, and we cannot thank the staff at The Metropolitan enough for helping us make it all happen.
I recently held my wedding reception at the Metropolitan few weeks ago. I can only say positive things about the Metropolitan and its staff. John, the manager, was very accommodating to our needs and was very flexible with the meeting times (which is extremely helpful when there are dozen other vendors to meet with for the wedding preparations!) John really gave us his full attention to ensure that our plans came to fruition. On the day of, although the maître d' was running the operations, John still stayed till the end of our reception. It was an unexpected venue that turned out to be the best venue to suit our needs. Barbara, the maître d', knew her stuff and everything during the reception went smoothly.
Furthermore, as we were getting closer to the big day, we heard positive feedback about the food at the Metropolitan from the other vendors that we came across. Indeed, after the wedding, every guests that came raved about the food served and how it was one of the best that they had so far at weddings. My husband was satisfied since serving great food was his top priority when choosing the reception venue.
Overall, the Metropolitan was the perfect venue to have the festive atmosphere that we wanted but with a touch of class :)
I highly recommend other couples to consider it as their wedding venue (and for other parties as well).
From the first time I walked into the Metropolitan back in January to when I left there Sunday night everything was perfect.
Johns personal involvement throughout the affair with Barbara made everything run so smooth. The quality and assortment of food
at the cocktail hour was commendable. The dinners, especially the Salmon and the Beef Wellington were over the top.
I must have had 2 dozen guests come up to me or e-mail me on how great everything was. Even small things like Dominick
setting up the cordials on the bar, for our guests to enjoy a cigar on the patio, were a nice touch and
then he actually came outside to bring us a fresh bottle. . You and the Metropolitan made a Special day that much better.
John and his team are AMAZING! Barbara was awesome! Def knows what shes doing and helped so much! John C. actually stayed for most of our wedding just to make sure that everything went smoothly!! Everything was perfect! The setup looked like a movie. Couldn't have asked for more! Thank you!!!!

Wedding: 07/21/2014
Services Used: Ceremony & Reception Venue
I had my wedding there last night and it was perfect!!! John the banquet manager and Barbara our maître d were so wonderful. They made our day so perfect. Our guests were raving about the food, the service, and the beauty of the venue!!! We couldn't have asked for anything better!
Everyone at our wedding raved about the food, said that our bartender was a magician, the service was incredible and that the newly renovated space was beautiful. We couldn't have been happier with the design, set up and the execution of everything throughout the night. Our maitre'd, Barbara was attentive, responsive and genuinely concerned about our happiness. It was everything we'd hoped for and was very reasonably priced. We would highly recommend this venue to anyone. Wish we could do it again! ;-)
I truly can not say enough wonderful things about John, Barbara, and The Metropolitan. From the very beginning John was extremely welcoming and flexible with price, date, menu options, etc- all to make sure that we were completely happy on our wedding day. We had initially planned a smaller size wedding (under 100) and it was frustrating being pushed away from many venues who would not even consider that number of guests for a Sat. night in summer. John went above and beyond to make it possible for us. Barbara is the maître D , and she is outstanding at what she does. I had a ton of signage and decor and was very specific about how I wanted everything- she made sure it turned out perfect. She even reminded me of a few things the day of our wedding, that I had forgotten about due to all the excitement! While John and Barbara are extremely professional, they also give you a very personalized experience. Not once did I feel like "just another client" , every time I called they knew exactly who I was and were completely up to speed. John even gave me his cell phone number, and I am definitely guilty of sending texts at 10pm when I was having trouble with the seating! As I said, I can just not say enough great things about them. The venue itself is so elegant and intimate, and the food was delicious. I highly recommend!!
