The Mill at Sugar Grove Reception Hall

This venue had everything we needed and if they didn't they got it for us. We enjoyed our special day so much. We would recommend this place to anyone.

The Mill at Sugar Grove is elegantly rustic and Jacob was fabulous to work with! He helped make my daughter's reception magical and even added curtains and lights to take everything to a higher level. Hurry and book the venue for your event. You won't regret it!

Jacob went above and beyond for us! Our wedding was a complete fairytale!! Because of Covid we had to push our date back from May to September and Jacob helped us replan everything. He seriously is amazing!!! I couldn't have asked for a better location! When we walked through the doors it was seriously breathtaking! The gorgeous sunset view was a perfect spot for extra pictures and the sparkly lights outside made for some breathtaking photos! I highly reccomend this venue to anyone that is getting married! You definitely won't be disappointed!!! Thanks again for all that you did to make our day amazing!!!!

Trying to plan a wedding during a global pandemic is stressful enough. Having had to reschedule our wedding once, to making the difficult decision to change venues with less than 3 weeks until our wedding date, the last thing you'd want is a difficult business owner to work with. While it's typically understood that deposits are non-refundable, Illinois law at this time is literally preventing us from having a wedding at this venue on our wedding date. Due to some contractural discrepancies, we requested half of our deposit back to help us pay for another venue, but they were unwilling to work with us. While the venue is beautiful, I would not recommend entering into a contract with this business owner.

My husband I married on September 14, 2019. We had both our ceremony and reception at The Mill. Using this as our venue was hands down the best and easiest decision of our wedding planning process. It is absolutely stunning and there are so many ways you can utilize the main building, the outside pavilion, and the surrounding grounds to fit whatever vision you may have. The owner, Jacob, is an absolute delight to work with. He responds in a timely manner and is so easy and flexible to work with. He even accommodated us coming back twice to visit because we were indecisive about which area we wanted to utilize for our ceremony. Jacob has an amazing vision for his property and is constantly doing upgrades and adding inventory to his decoration options. One thing I loved most about working with Jacob is how open he is to the ideas his couples have. If you have a vision, he finds a way to work with you to make it happen. You won't be disappointed booking this charming, rustic venue!

Could not have asked for a better venue to have our wedding. Jacob was very accommodating and patient with us even though we weren't the best with communicating. He was able to make last minute adjustments without any issues and made sure we got what we needed!

I'm not even sure where to start.. there are so many things to brag about with this venue! From the second we stepped foot in the door, my husband and I knew immediately that it was the perfect place for our wedding day. It has this rustic, romantic appeal to it that you have to see to experience. There is SO much room and so many options for setting up your special day! For instance, it monsooned on our wedding day and we were able to change our entire flow/plans seamlessly, even through the storm outside, our photos turned out amazing inside and most importantly there was still plenty of room to accommodate everyone else inside comfortably. (We had about 250 people so that's saying a lot) To top it all off, Jacob was so easy to work with and helped to keep me on track with things I'd never thought about needing. Without him, I would have been lost. Don't hesitate to call. You will not regret booking this venue! ❤😊

Loved being able to have our wedding and reception at the same place for a reasonable price. Jacob was helpful throughout the whole process and accommodating to our needs. Everything went smooth except the runner got swept up when the barn door was closed. Also, there are many places to take pictures. A day we will forever remember!

The Mill at Sugar Grove was absolutely everything my husband and I could have asked for. It is so breathtakingly beautiful. Jacob was the greatest help with anything and everything we could have needed. There is plenty of room for the biggest of weddings and also perfect for your small intimate ones as well! I still have people talking about how beautiful my venue was. I honestly can’t say enough good things about this place!

We had our daughter’s wedding at the Mill on Oct 12, 2019 and was so happy that we chose it for the venue. Jacob was very accommodating to everything we wanted.We were there on Friday to decorate and had rehearsal and rehearsal supper then all day on Saturday and both days Jacob was right there when we had questions or to arrange decor to make the venue the magical place🌸The plus to the Mill was the groom and brides suites🌸If you are wanting the vintage barn rustic feeling take a beautiful ride and check the Mill out. We had so many compliments of what a beautiful wedding venue it was❤️

Jacob made the entire process of planning and implementing our wedding a complete breeze. He was readily available to meet on our schedule, and he always provided helpful advice based on his previous hosting experiences. The venue is gorgeous on its own, so very few - if any - decorations are needed to supplement the natural beauty of the mill. Almost all of our guests mentioned how beautiful the mill was, and it only gets better as the sun sets and the skylights dim the building. We are so glad we chose to have our wedding at The Mill at Sugar Grove, and we would make the decision a thousand-times-over!

Having our wedding reception at The Mill was an excellent decision! The venue itself was beautiful. Jacob was very accessible and helpful prior to and during our reception. Overall, our event went perfectly!

The Mill was the perfect place for our ceremony and reception! We were able to have our own bridal and groomsman suites, wonderful bathrooms with many supplies, and many other amenities. Jacob, the owner, was quick to respond to any questions, comments or concerns throughout the entire process. He also joined us for the ceremony and reception which I thought was wonderful! We had a great experience and will recommend The Mill at Sugar Grove to others because it was the reason our wedding was perfect!

We rented the Mill for our indoor wedding ceremony and reception. The decorative lighting is beautiful! We added a few of our own decorations but everything else he had set and ready for us. Jacob was great to work with and more than accommodating both pre-wedding and during. We couldn't have asked for a better experience! The Mill is an affordable venue option for our area and perfect for any event! So many guests were pleasantly surprised by the beauty inside the barn. Thank you Jacob for being part of our special day!

Maybe all venues are a pain when it comes to weddings, but I think our experience was quite ridiculous. Pro - beautiful venue Cons - 1. My mom and hostess spent majority of the night running around cleaning to make sure the venue was always up to Jacob’s par. 2. We had 25 pumpkins for the ceremony that were from his pumpkin patch. After coming to the conclusion with Jacob that most, if not all, were going to be left at the venue, it was my understanding that we wouldn’t have to pay for them (unless we took some). $25 was taken from the damage deposit. We took four. The rest were borrowed. I don’t understand the mindset of charging us for every one when they went from the patch to the outside ceremony. 3. $20 was deducted for thumb tack/sticky tape “damage.” We hung one of those paper triangle banners on the fake brick wall. I paid no attention to it when we left, but seriously. How much “damage” can sticky tape and thumb tacks do when hanging up edges of a string. Mind you we asked if hanging it up with tacks or sticky tape would be fine and was told yes. 4. $25 was deducted because there was icing from one cupcake smashed on the concrete. Okay, fine. But $25? 5. My mom (with two guests) had to pick up the flower petals from off the ground. Like I said, it was an outside ceremony...far enough away from the venue that our ceremony was difficult to see... Beautiful place, but Jacob is way too anal when it comes to “damage,” cleanliness throughout the event and whatever you would consider the petal situation to be.

Our wedding day could not have been so perfect if it wasn't for The Mill at Sugar Grove! The Mill not only accommodated our 200+ guests during the ceremony and reception, but also allowed for us to have our own bridal and groomsman suites, brand new bathrooms, and countless other amenities. Jacob, the owner, was very personable and was quick to respond to any questions, comments or concerns throughout this whole process (including right before the ceremony). He also made it possible for us to hold our rehearsal and rehearsal dinner at The Mill too. We overall had a great experience and will continue to recommend The Mill at Sugar Grove to others in the future!

My husband and I had a vow renewal at the Mill. The ballroom was perfect for the ceremony and reception combined. The newly added bathrooms were awesome. It was truly a magical night. Thanks to The Mill for helping me create special memories.

I was in my cousin’s wedding at The Mill on September 8, 2018. It is a wonderful venue that is very versatile for any style or theme! The owner, Jacob, is very friendly and helpful! Would definitely recommend.

We had an absolutely amazing experience at The Mill! Jacob was fantastic and more than accommodating! He has accomplished SO MUCH in the last year at The Mill and it really made our wedding day perfect! Could not have asked for a better place!

Had a great experience at The Mill. Jacob was very accommodating. Everything was as we had discussed and all of our guests were happy. It was clean, air conditioning was cold and plenty of parking. Rustic atmosphere and continuing renovation made this great venue for our bridal shower .
