Historic Event Space; The Heart of Downtown
The Millennium Center is an all-inclusive, historic, multi-levelled wedding venue in the heart of Winston-Salem, NC. Originally built in 1906, it was once the City of Winston Post Office. Subsequently, it became a Federal Building, home to the United States Post Office, US Federal Court, US Attorney, FBI, US Marshal, Military enlistment offices, and the IRS. It was abandoned when operations moves downtown. In 1994, Gregory Carlyle purchased the property and spent two decades restoring it. To wed in The Millennium Center is to write your love story in the pages of history.
The venue is home to a multitude of sites across three floors. With a capacity of up to 400 guests, The Ballroom and the Grand Lobby are equal contenders to celebrate an extravagant affair. On the other hand, The Speakeasy, Garden Room, the Historic Courtroom, and Grand Jury Room can accommodate up to 150. Each of them has a distinct character which will lend to the overall experience. Get-ready suites are also available for added comfort and convenience.
The Millenium Center employs an experienced event staff who will diligently work towards the success of your event, eliminating the hassle of coordinating multiple vendors. This includes skilled, in-house coordinators, a culinary team, servers, bartenders, event managers, custodians, the AV department, and security. Upon choosing to work with them, you will have access to their carefully selected inventory of tables, chairs, linens, china, and crystal. You can also avail of their full-service floral and design department if you so choose. Alternatively, you may bring your own decorations. Professional sound and lighting, technical assistance, setup, and teardown are also included in your rental. The in-house culinary team is a talented group who are quite accustomed to working closely with families and executing multiple styles of cuisine and service. The venue allows outside caterers only if you require special international cuisine.

Can't say enough good things about Greg, Edie and Mary! We had the most fun wedding and couldn't have done it without Greg's attention to detail, Edie's ability to bring my flower vision to life, and Mary to execute during the wedding. Everything went smoothly with vendor communication and our family and friends are still talking about how great the food was. There wasn't anything I said or any idea I had that was out of reach, so no need to think twice when looking for a beautiful indoor venue in Downtown Winston-Salem!
We got married in December 2022 and could not have asked for a more perfect day. The venue itself is gorgeous and the location is super convenient, especially for out of town guests. Greg and his team were responsive, accommodating and fun to work with. They made thoughtful suggestions that took our ideas to the next level. The food was delicious, from cocktails hour hors d'oeuvres to the main course. We also had them do our bouquets and floral arrangements, which turned out beautifully. I'd highly recommend to anyone looking for their dream wedding!
Simply The Best!! What a beautiful time we had! Greg Edie and Mary were the most gracious hosts and made our daughter's wedding an elegant memory we will cherish for a lifetime. From the first meeting to the tasting, to the final event, they were accessible and quick responding. We feel the atmosphere there is like walking into a familiar place, like visiting with Family. The staff was so helpful and accommodating. Our son's wedding was also at The Millenium Center. It was a privilege to back and enjoy once again!! Give them a call We highly recommend! 5 stars is not enough! Cheers!
Any questions?
“Perfect.” “Beautiful.” “Fabulous.” These are only a few of the many reactions our guests shared with us. And they were due to the amazing wedding reception that we hosted at The Millennium Center with the expert help of owner Greg Carlyle and his talented team. They brought years of experience, enthusiasm, and friendliness to our every question and request. From our first consultation with Greg months in advance, all the way through the last dance of the night, this proud mother and father of the bride will always be thrilled that we chose to celebrate this special day there. Greg’s signature 1918 Beaux Arts building in beautiful downtown Winston Salem was ideal. It’s in the center of many hotels, restaurants, churches, and fun things for guests to do, all within easy walking distance.
We made use of the gracious and sophisticated accommodations for our day-long wedding preparations and dressing, a wonderful pre-reception cocktail hour with its multiple serving locations, an over-the-top delicious meal and a large stage and dance floor for the band and all 265 guests to celebrate. Greg Carlyle and the Millennium Center --- Wow!
Fantastic venue for our daughter's winter wedding. The owners and staff were incredibly thoughtful and attentive. Gorgeous decorations and delicious food. Could not be happier.
We had several options for venues for our daughter’s wedding reception. We have known Greg and Edie for years and asked them to make a proposal for the special event. The entire experience was beyond expectations. They were accommodating of our every need and not only did they not overpromise, they over delivered. Greg was always available to discuss details and was helpful with suggestions that not only saved us money but made the event more enjoyable for our guests. Every aspect from the food tasting to the discussions about layout and timing were right on point. It is obvious that Greg and Edie have been doing this for a long time and still have meeting the needs of their clients as their most important goal. Our guests have not stopped commenting on how special the night was. I give the Millennium Center my highest recommendation.
My daughter got married in March 2022 and everything was prefect! It is a great venue for a special event.

Elizabeth,
Thanks for the wonderful review. You were great to work with and I look forward to seeing you soon.
Greg
My wife and I had the Wedding Reception of our dreams at the Millennium Center! Greg and Edith were a breeze to work with! My wife and I had many ideas about how we wanted our reception to be and all we had to do was communicate that with Greg and he brought it all to life! We even had to make some last-minute changes and Greg graciously and promptly accommodated for us. It can be stressful and tiresome to plan a wedding reception, however we are so glad that we booked the Millennium Center. Not only did we have an absolutely beautiful venue to host our reception, it all came together through the expertise and vision of Greg and his team.
I had my wedding at the Millennium Center in November 2021 and would recommend them to anyone! The entire team came together to make the event perfect and memorable for ~175 guests. Greg and Mary were both involved from the first meeting to the end of the reception. They executed every special request and made the entire wedding seamless from the ceremony in the courtroom to cocktail hour in the lobby to the reception in the main event space. The food was delicious and organized as stations so no one had to wait serving beef tenderloin, salmon, shrimp and grits, and chicken. The bar staff kept everyone's drinks full until we made our exit and the bar carried all the brands we typically drink. We had an 11 piece band who comfortably fit on stage using an incredible sound system The Millennium Center already has. The staff was constantly rounding the reception to clean up plates and glasses so everything looked neat. The Millennium Center even did all the flowers and decorations catered to our taste. I would highly recommend anyone looking at The Millennium Center to book the space!
In September 2021 we had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Millennium Center. I can honestly say it was the best decision that I could have made. Our wedding was everything we wanted and more. The stress level was very low due to the convenience of so much being included in the price. The staff there was AMAZING and all my guest could not stop talking about how awesome the food was! I will never forget my special day and I owe it all to Greg and the other staff at the Millennium Center!
First and foremost, BOOK THE MILLENNIUM CENTER! My husband and I was so nervous about wedding planning but the moment we met Greg & his team at The Millennium Center all of our worries went away! They’re so professional and knowledgeable! They kept in contact with us through the entire process! We had the most AMAZING wedding! From the food to the decor EVERYTHING was absolutely amazing! Thank you so much Greg and team!
I had my wedding here in October 2021 and I can't even begin to describe how amazing it was. The food was fantastic and the atmosphere was just stunning. We invited people from all over the country and EVERYONE was blown away by the food. This venue has so much history and character -- our photos from the day are unbelievable. The staff went above and beyond to make our day extra special and we are just so grateful.
Regarding COVID, The Millennium Center made us feel very safe and reassured during the whole process. The staff was masked and our guests felt very comfortable and safe because of the precautions they took both on and before our wedding day. We really appreciated this.
This was my dream wedding and the staff at The Millennium Center made it happen. They communicated with me every step of the way and were flexible and kind throughout the wedding planning process. I had countless people tell me this is one of the best weddings they've ever been to.
Definitely get married here if you want to work with someone who really cares about your experience -- because that's clearly a priority to the folks at The Millennium Center.
The Millennium Center is a beautiful venue with so many incredible spaces. We hosted our wedding there Oct 2021, 10 months later than originally planned. Greg and his team were wonderful to work with, especially with all the changes. Everything turned out perfect and we highly recommend this venue and team!
I'm late in writing a review but anyone in North Carolina looking for a wedding venue, large or small, needs to book an appointment at the Millennium Center. It's a historic, beautiful venue. Greg, Mary, Edie met and exceeded my daughter and her now-husband's expectations, as well as mine and my wife's. The set-up, flowers, food, drinks, sound system were amazing. A sincere thank you from the father of the bride.

If you are looking for a place to have your wedding, have it here! Greg, Mary, and Edie are wonderful. We had an original date scheduled for our wedding and had to postpone it because of COVID. The Millennium Center was so understanding and made the whole process incredibly easy.
Throughout the entire wedding planning process they were engaged, in contact, and so helpful.
Our wedding was the most perfect day. The venue was beautiful, the food was delicious, the timeline was exactly what we wanted.
Everything you need is at this venue. They are the best and I would recommend the Millennium Center for any event possible.
Thank you to the Millennium Center team for making our wedding everything we wanted and more!

We traveled form out of town to attend our nephews wedding in Winston Salem. Even though he and his lovely bride were forced to scale things down due to Covid restrictions, I have to say that the staff at the Millennium Center were very professional, they provided more than ample space social distancing, if anyone so chose. The building itself is just lovely, the grand scale of it alone is amazing. It is definitely something you wouldn't imagine down south, Mr. and Mrs. Carlyle have done a fantastic job restoring this beautiful building and giving it life in a new way. We were even lucky enough to receive a personal tour of the entire space, all three levels are just stunning! Between the joy my family shared, the delicious food, and fantastic service we received we will always remember our time in Winston Salem and the Millennium Center.
The Millenium Center is a beautiful venue. Greg, Edie and Mary were a dream to work with and very attentive to every question and need. Eight months later our family and friends are still talking about the space, food and bar service. Greg’s team provided my daughter and new husband with the wedding day of their dreams!! He even remembered my beverage of choice and had it waiting for me at our table, Five stars isn’t enough to fully cover how awesome the experience was from beginning to end!!
As a wedding planner myself, I knew I needed a venue with fantastic service that would be able to perfect our vision for our wedding day. Greg and his team at The Millennium Center did just that! Greg responded to all of my random ideas and questions with enthusiasm and was a fantastic planning partner. He goes out of his way to make client's dreams a reality. As an added bonus, the menu selections and food offerings at The Millennium Center are expansive and delicious. My husband and I are grateful to Greg and his staff for helping us create our perfect wedding day!
Greg, Edie, Mary, and the entire Millennium Center staff did a fantastic job with our daughter’s wedding. As Greg promised, everything was perfect, i.e. the venue, the flowers, and the food, making for a wonderful day for our beautiful daughter and her new husband, family, and friends. Based on our family’s experience, I cannot recommend Greg and his team strongly enough.
I just got married at the Millennium center and had the best experience ever. From start to finish they made my special day professionally perfect. Thank you to all the staff that gave me the 5 star experience. I will recommend everyone to book with them
Our wedding weekend was a dream thanks to Greg and his team! As a Winston native, I'd been to prom and other events at the Millennium Center, but did not appreciate the beauty of the venue until I got married there.
Greg was quick and receptive throughout the entire process and allowed us to come in whenever we had questions or wanted to talk things through. Having a venue that did flowers, food, all equipment, etc. made it so easy on us and lessened the number of vendors we had to work with.
It was great to be able to get ready at the venue (the bridal suite is fantastic) and spend our entire day there. Our wedding day ran so smoothly, which was no small feat with almost 250 people. I would recommend the venue for anyone looking to get married in Winston.
Our wedding at The Millennium Center was amazing. Greg, Edie, Mary and the rest of the staff made our wedding day beautiful, memorable, and fun for us and our guests. As the bride, I never felt stressed as they took care of every detail and made planning a wedding so easy. We had both our ceremony and reception there and both were perfect. The food was amazing and the service was impeccable! Our guests were complimenting us on how perfect and well thought out the wedding and reception were. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day or a better venue!

Samantha,
It was a pleasure to work with you and your family on this important life event. We were truly honored you trusted us with vitually all the details. You were a dream to work with and we loved your family and guests.

Beautiful , historic venue with gracious, helpful owners. Wonderful bridal room with lots of mirrors and 3 salon chairs for the whole crew to get ready. The venue provides catering that is second to none. Our guests raved about the food and bar service. Venue provided us with a preferred DJ who played appropriate and varied music during cocktail hour and dinner, yet, kept the party pumping when it was time to dance. The wife of the owner stepped in and helped fix the flowers that arrived from another florist. She had extra flowers she used from her own stock to rearrange the delivered flowers. They ended up being beautiful. This venue is focused on customer service. I would recommend to anyone for any festive occasion.

Jana,
Thanks so much for your kind words. I appreciate you taking the time to review our services. We enjoyed your family and guests. I wish all the best in life to the Bride and Groom.
Thanks again,
Greg
Greg and his team went beyond all our expectations. Every single detail that they were in charge of was handled perfectly, at exactly the right time, and with a smile. I could not imagine having our ceremony anywhere else. There are a plenty of other venues to choose from, and some will be just as nice inside and out. The difference here was Greg and his team. They really removed all the stress for us. Planning was simple and we got everything we wanted with no compromises, while the stuff we didn't care or think about was handled expertly for us. They even made the bride and groom a special desert because she mentioned she had always pictured Creme Brûlée as her desert.
8 months later, we still have people telling us how great the food was (prepared by the venue's chef), how much fun they had dancing (we used their DJ), or how much they enjoyed the open bar (all staffed and supplied by the venue's team).
We strongly recommend!

Kyle,
Thank you for the awesome review. We were honored to assist you and Tiffany with your Wedding. It was a fabulous day and we enjoyed meeting your friends and family
I wish you and Tiffany all the best in life.
Sincerely,

Greg and his team went the extra mile to ensure a memorable evening for our family. Due to the pandemic we had to significantly alter our plans and Greg was very helpful in redesigning a smaller reception in the newly renovated court room. It was the perfect venue for our intimate dinner while ensuring a first class evening . We have had two daughters' wedding receptions at the Millennium Center and we highly recommend the beautiful facility and accommodating staff!

Scott,
Thank you so much for your kind words. It was a pleasure to help your family with this lovely event. I look forward to seeing you all next summer!
All the best,
Greg
Given the implications of COVID-19 impacting our wedding planning process over the past 6 months, we must say that the months leading up to our dream wedding were particularly stressful. With that being said, the millennium center has been the PERFECT venue to execute and host our wedding. Greg and his staff are truly amazing, supportive and deliver on everything they promise. During the final month leading up to our wedding day, we encountered a number of roadblocks, including postponement of our reception. However, Greg and his team have been amazing, not charging additional fees for our next reception date, and even went as far as to add additional amenities for us on our wedding day (e.g., sparkler exit, Greg driving his personal vehicle for us back to our hotel). Needless to say, Greg and his team made our wedding day dreams come true and we’re so thankful for all of the countless hours and work they contributed to making our day so special! We can’t wait for part 2 and we would highly recommend this venue for any special event!

Reflecting on the beautiful Autumn morning we spent at The Millennium Center, for our daughter's wedding, I smile. The preparation was smooth sailing due to the professionalism of Gregory and the staff. We could not have been more pleased with the dedication they showed to the request we made to execute a perfect wedding/brunch reception. We will never forget the special time we spent with Gregory, John, Stephanie, Danielle, and the remaining staff members, at The Millennium Center during such a joyous time for our family.
I could not find anything bad to say about working with Greg and Edie if I tried. We were planning a very last minute wedding, 13 days to be exact, when I called Greg and he and his staff treated us as if we had been planning our wedding for years. It was perfect. We had the ceremony in the garden room and the reception in the jazz lounge and it was perfect. Have a mentioned the food!!! Wow, my guest are still talking about how amazing the food was. Jerk chicken, beef tenderloin and all the trimmings for dinner then a burger bar for late night snacks. Amazing. My husband even busted his pants and I had just mentioned that to one of the bar tenders and didn’t think anything of it because he was just going to run back to the hotel and get his jeans but out of nowhere there was Greg with a pair a pants that fit perfect. Amazing. To have everything right there it was more then perfect. Stephanie was/is awesome they kept everything right on track even though I was an hour an a half late, completely all my fault 😂😊 amazing amazing amazing
Our wedding reception at the Millennium Center was absolutely perfect. Greg and his team made the planning process run smoothly, and we did not worry about a single detail on the day of knowing that we were in great hands. The food was amazing, the set up was gorgeous, and every single person who assisted along the way was helpful with attention to detail. Highly recommend this venue for any type of event, especially wedding related!
Our wedding day was flawless! I didn’t lift a finger for the entire day, the staff is wonderful and the venue is GOR
I'll start by saying the Millennium Center is absolutely gorgeous. The building has a rich history that exudes class and elegance. For the majority of my planning process, we worked with the day-of planner Kaitlyn, who was an absolute star. About 10 days before the wedding, we were informed that Katelyn had left the Millennium Center, and the building owners, that Greg and his wife, were taking over our event. Naturally, I was a bit worried, but Greg quickly put my fears to rest and executed my wedding perfectly! He was incredibly responsive with all my requests and needs; when there were one or two hiccups, he had his whole team on them. He even served our dinner himself, which was phenomenal by the way. I could not have asked for a more perfect day.
Kaitlin, Greg and the entire MC staff were great. They catered to my every need and did not disappoint. The food was great, the decor was great and the service was immaculate. Great venue because everything is done in house which saved us the headache of having multiple vendors. I would for sure recommend the MC!
We could not have imagined a more perfect venue for our reception. Everything from the venues location's in downtown Winston-Salem, to the architecture, to the layout of the building made us fall in love with the Millennium Center. Kaitlyn was attentive and great to work with in the planning process and on the day of. All of our guests commented on how great the food was. It was such a relief that once we had signed on with the Millennium Center, all of the "little things" were taken care of, including the linens, tableware, bar, stage, lighting, etc. etc. etc. I cannot say enough positive things about the Millennium Center, if you are looking for a wedding venue in Winston-Salem, look no further!
We absolutely LOVE Kaitlyn, Greg and his staff (Stephanie and crew)!!! We can't imagine any other vendor making us feel like a part of their family. Kaitlyn was a huge part of our day. We appreciate her kind spirit, generosity, attention to detail, patience and most importantly her dedication to ensuring everything was done in a timely manner. Greg and his staff are fully dedicated and know how to make you feel at ease. We highly recommend The Millennium Center.
I don't know where to begin, but believe me when I say you cannot go wrong with the Millennium Center! We chose this venue for our cocktail hour and reception, with the ceremony at my home church one hour away in Va. Greg and Kaitlyn worked with our schedules since we don't live in Winston and helped ease my concerns about having the reception and ceremony at different locations. We initially had trouble scheduling a tasting due to various things - but the food at the tasting absolutely blew us away and calmed any nerves about that! My husband's family is from Philly and my family is from Louisiana, so for cocktail hour we had Philly pretzels and beer cheese & Louisiana style shrimp and grits. The ballroom was stunning - Kaitlyn might be a fairy godmother!! She arranged all the personal items I brought (my mom and nana's wedding dress, etc) without a single complaint. She was always friendly and upbeat and felt more like a friend than an event planner. She also did our floral arrangements for the reception and used Galax leaves per my request to honor my hometown's name! 6 months later, people still compliment us on our wedding and say what a fun time they had. They also talk about the food! Beef tenderloin, marinated chicken, and Vegetable Korma to celebrate our love of Indian food! We had full bar service and a full coffee bar. My husband and I never lifted a finger the whole day. Anytime I even thought I might need a refill, Kaitlyn, Greg, or another one of the amazing staff were there asking me what they could get for me. They also got Bluebell ice-cream to serve with cake - my family's favorite ice cream. We were so lucky to be able to book a Sunday at the end of our short engagement. The Millennium Center was worth every penny and I wish I could relive that day! Thank you Greg, Kaitlyn, and The Millennium Center staff - including the chef! - for making our wedding day so memorable and special. I think everyone looks back at their wedding and can see things they would change if they could. I would change some things about the ceremony and pictures.....but nothing about the reception! --unless it could have lasted longer!
We are so happy we chose the Millennium Center for our wedding on August 6, 2017. We knew as soon as we saw the Millennium Center and met Greg and Kaitlyn that this venue was for us! Greg and Kaitlyn sure do know how to throw a party! During the planning process, they were extremely attentive and very detail oriented. They had so many creative ideas and suggestions to help us create the perfect day. We had the best of everything- a romantic ceremony and an energetic reception to follow. The venue itself is historical and has so much character. It was so conveinent to have a salon room at the venue for the bride and bridal party to get ready in. And the guys had a great time hanging in their own private room. Our guests are also still raving about how delicious the food was! And the flowers - all ordered and arranged by The Millennium Center - were just beautiful! The day of the wedding Greg and Kaitlyn were there every step of the way to make sure everything ran smoothly. We didn't have to worry about anything but enjoying our wedding day and for that, we can't thank them enough! We highly recommend this venue.
We loved our reception at the Millennium Center! Both Greg and Kaitlyn were a great to work with and created the perfect night for our guests. They are highly professional and paid close attention to every detail . They created a beautiful reception complete with tropical flowers and even soda from Peru (where we met)! They offer a one stop shop for catering, decor, floral arrangements, tables, chairs, table linens, etc. which made the planning process smooth. As a note, they will charge more for specialty items, colors, etc. if they have to order them, but they are more than able to get whatever you need to make your reception exactly what you want. Food and drink was AMAZING! They helped us develop our own signature craft cocktails and I can't speak more highly of the food. The chef worked with us to craft a perfect menu and we had rave reviews from all our guests. We are very grateful for the time and effort they put into our reception.
Words cannot express how amazing the Millennium Center and staff were for our Wedding this past September. I was planning our wedding out of town (Charlotte) and both Greg and Kaitlyn were a dream to work with and extremely detail oriented. No request was too large or small for the team at Millennium and they made sure to cater our day to fit our personality. Millennium is a one stop shop offering full services of catering, decor, floral arrangements, tables, chairs, table linens, etc. which made the planning process a breeze. Not having to purchase a ton of candles/decor that I would never use again was a huge perk and they have an amazing selection to choose from. The Millennium team can make any floral dream come true with their talented staff. My colors were black and white with greenery and rose accents. Being from the south I wanted to incorporate magnolia leaves into our decor and Millennium knocked it out of the park with our table arrangements featuring Magnolia leaves. If you are looking for an incredible venue with a staff that is even more amazing Millennium Center is the right venue for you!
We had a wonderful wedding at the Millennium Center, pretty close to perfection! The staff and team there are super helpful and go above and beyond to make your day special and everything you dream of. The food was FANTASTIC- and that's hard to do at most weddings. It was as good at the wedding for 120+ guests as it was at the private tasting for 4. My guests raved and I was very proud- get the Salmon you wont regret it! As a bride, wedding planning can get stressful so I cant comment enough on how much this venue comes with and takes care of for you if you let them. Having so many options for table linens and chairs, lights and speakers, florals, catering, bridal suite to get ready on site, rehearsal and day of coordination, the list goes on. It was truly the biggest reason we went with the Millennium center and why I would always recommend them. They removed as much stress as possible for our big day and that's not to be undervalued! You will not regret using this venue and its team to have the wedding of your dreams!
I couldn't imagine a more perfect wedding than what we had at The Millennium Center! Our guests are still raving about how amazing our dinner was, and the décor was incredibly detailed. Greg and Kaitlyn made the whole experience so easy and stress-free, with so many good options that it's impossible to chose anything less than perfection. I had the most incredible night of my life here, and I highly recommend this venue.
Greg and Kaitlyn went above and beyond to make our reception exactly what we wanted! They offer so many options that planning was made easy and we had to worry about less! The staff were so nice and helpful and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone! If you're looking for a beautiful space to have a reception, I would look no further!
Choosing to have our wedding reception at the Millennium Center was the best choice we made about our wedding. The building itself is stunning, but the staff really made the wedding of our dreams a reality! Kaitlyn, Greg, and the entire staff blew us away with their professionalism, their creativity, and their flexibility. They were amazing to work with- they thought of everything and really have weddings down to a science, we never doubted we were in great hands! Kaitlyn kept me updated about everything - even sent me preview pictures while setting up the ballroom and lobby, which was so thoughtful. One of the great things about the Millennium Center is all of the extras they provide. When booking with them you not only get a venue, but a caterer, an event coordinator, serving staff, and new friends! The food was delicious, and we heard nothing but great things from our guests. The morning of our wedding, our entire bridal party was able to get ready either in the bridal salon or in a special area downstairs that Greg set up for the guys. This was so special to us, and saved us from having one more thing to coordinate! Our guests kept raving about our reception and I know we all have the best memories of our special day thanks to the Millennium Center staff! If you book with them- you won't regret it!
The Millenium center is nothing but amazing. Greg and Kaitlyn made you feel comfortable and took care of everything so I had no worries. The night was beautiful and I really enjoyed everything.
We used the Millennium Center only for our reception location and I'm so glad we did! Greg and his wonderful staff were great to work with! Planning a wedding from across the country is never easy but Greg went above and beyond to accommodate any special requests and customized the space to make it uniquely ours. Millennium Center has so much character and really embodies the rich history of Winston-Salem. Greg and his staff worked really well with our florist, photographer, and cake bakery- everything went so smoothly on the wedding day! Greg went the extra mile to ensure everything was perfect for the big day, he even worked around our schedules to set up a menu & wine tasting for us when we came into town one weekend. His staff was very friendly and welcoming- Kaitlyn set up a romantic candlelit dinner for my husband and I before being introduced at the reception, it was such a wonderful moment to have! My experience with the Millennium Center was nothing but positive!
See how beautiful this venue is: https://youtu.be/ZlyMyd2nOdo
Approximately one month before my wedding my 82 year old mom fell and broke her hip. After a partial replacement she needed round the clock care. I've worked in fine dining, catering and event planning for approximately seven years, so my idea was to help set my event, my bride was so excited. I couldnt leave moms side, i didnt know what to do. I communicated my desires and hopes to Millennium management, hoped for the best, but my standards are quite high. I could not believe how beautiful the room was. Truly. Edith and Kaitlyn built my flower arrangements and they were breathtaking. Greg went out of his way to prepare a meal that was so delicious my geusts raved, and wanted to compliment chef Pat. There were to many servers to call each by name, but they were all on point with beverages, clearing, and courteous, kind attiudes. After all my experience, i was amazed and i had the time of my life. My beautiful bride was so pleased, and that made me happy.it takes real pros to build an event with minimal information and get it perfect. That was what they did for my bride and myself, and im eternally grateful. Greg made sure my mom got in safe and on the front row.
I married my high school sweetheart, twenty five years after graduation. That in itself was a dream come true, so much that when we chose the Millinnuum Center we decided to put everything in their more than capable hands. I didn't want to see the ballroom until I walked down the aisle. I wasn't only in awe, I was completely overwhelmed with the fairy tale wedding the staff had created. The staff had went above and beyond any and all expectations. Not only did they have our entire wedding party completely covered, they catered to our guests as if they would have to their own family. They truly thought of everything, leaving me in a position to worry about nothing and fall in love with everything and that is exactly what I did. The food was spectacular and the tables were breathtaking. I couldn't have asked for anything more beautiful. I wouldn't have changed one second of that day and although putting everything in their hands from colors to culinary may seem unnerving to some, not only was I weightless where worry would typically be a concern, I was completely taken away by the sight of perfection seeing it for the first time as my father walked with his hand clinched to mine and placed it in the hand of my first love.
My daughter's reception was absolutely AMAZING!! The Millennium Center's staff went above and beyond to make this event magical. The dinner was fabulous and every detail carried out just as we had requested.
I cannot imagine a better venue for our daughter's wedding. When we entered the main dining area, it was breathtaking. Kaitlyn and Greg met our every need and were easy to work with. Our biggest concern was that they were so agreeable to anything we asked, we were afraid that perhaps they were over-promising. We had nothing to be afraid of. Anything and everything that we asked of them was accomplished. The food was delicious, and our guests were happy because it ran on time. Both Greg and Kaitlyn were on site the day of the event, so we had absolutely no need to have a wedding planner present. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a stunning venue for their wedding.
The millennium center saved our wedding! We had booked at another venue and the venue canceled on us six months prior to our wedding so we called the millennium center desperate for anything in the month of September and Kaitlyn quickly is to our stress by quickly eased our stress by finding a date that would work for us. From that point on, whatever we needed, wanted, or thought of we would run by Kaitlyn and her answer was always yes! When our wedding director bailed for a family event two months before the wedding, Kaitlyn stepped up and took over that job as well. She and Greg make an incredible team and were fantastic and preparing for our wedding.
The Millennium Center was amazing! Loved working with Greg and Kaitlyn throughout the entire process! Best part was that we were able to do our catering, flowers, and decor all in one place! If you love mixing new and old, you'll LOVE the Millennium Center!
Overall my reception was wonderful. The decorations were perfect, the food was excellent (provided by Local), and the night went smoothly.
Trying to plan my wedding was slightly challenging at times due to the fact that your only choice is e-mail, and I did not get coordinators direct email until two days before the wedding.
We had 170 guests and were told that we would have two bars at our reception so one wouldn't get crowded. When the day came there was only one which caused some congestion for drinks.
Our contract stated that we would have certain beers that we requested (Hoppyum was one of them) and we were given a cheaper version (Hop Job). My husband being a Foothills employee knew that this was a cheaper option and wasn't very pleased.
Multiple mistakes were made on our contract which resulted in us getting money back but not without some attitude from the employees.
The groomsmen area to get ready was amazing when we took our tour with a pool table, stocked fridge, and couches. When the day came the lights were off, no pool table and no stocked fridge. The men felt they were in a cave.
Overall it was a beautiful venue and wonderful day.
The Millennium Center staff made sure that our wedding exceeded our every expectation! Greg and Kaitlyn are AMAZING to work with, and make everything incredibly easy. They were patient, knowledgeable, professional, and courteous during every interaction. We had both our ceremony and reception on-site, and each space is incredibly flexible and beautiful. Since they have all the rentals you will need and on-site catering, it makes wedding planning SO much easier and affordable. Many items that other sites will charge extra for come standard here. The food is delicious, and the chef can take any idea you have and make it a reality. The entire staff went to great lengths to make sure that our wedding day was fun and stress-free. I highly recommend the Millennium Center for your wedding!
The Millennium Center is a beautiful venue! Greg, his wife, & Kaitlyn were an amazing team. They all were so easy to work with and very understanding. Kaitlyn is an awesome assistant to them. She responded to every email, help with every detail, & was THE BEST Day-of Coordinator. The staff was friendly and professional! I will definitely be referring the Millennium Center to all my family and friends.
Mr. & Mrs. Johnson
I had a wonderful wedding reception experience at the Milennium center. I would definitely recommend you check them out if you are looking for a venue. The food is delicious and the staff is very accommodating.
Had our September wedding here and it was absolutely perfect. Greg made sure everything was as we had discussed in planning and the food was absolutely to die for. A stunning venue and amazing partners to work with.
The Millennium Center set a new bar for extraordinary customer service. The owner Greg was the first to hug us hello and hug us goodbye. Kaitlyn was with us the entire time and is hands down one of the most talented people we have met. We own a business consulting company and are in entertainment ourselves so we interact with many people. I do not say we experienced THE best of THE best lightly! We walked away after having a perfect wedding and we learned how fantastic the customer experience can truly be. I would say we paid less than the value we got... when is the last time any of us could say that. We are so thankful.

The Millennium Center creates incredible Memories that last a lifetime! Choosing to have the Rehearsal Dinner, Wedding & Reception there was the best decision my daughter ever made! She fell in love with the architecture of the building, which is amazing; but the best part of this place is Greg Carlyle, the owner; Kaitlyn, the event coordinator & his staff! They are, without a doubt, the best in the business.
We had the rehearsal dinner in the lower level Speak Easy area & it is beautiful. Such atmosphere. Has wrapped white lighting across the ceiling, brick columns, a bar, small dance floor, sound access & is perfect for a romantic evening event.
The wedding was in the Grand Ballroom & it is awesome! The ceiling is hung with crystal chandeliers & crystal draping with large columns washed in uplighting in your choice of colors. The sound system is unbelievable & is available for your DJ or band to use.
The cocktail hour was in the huge hall and sitting area adjacent to the bar, which was serviced by properly dressed wait staff & bar tenders..
The reception was also in the Ballroom, which had been converted for dinner & dancing--all in a matter of one hour. There are beautifully adorned tables with gold chargers, centerpieces, candle light, bow tie napkins,-anything you ask for-along with all the specialty tables--candy buffet, guest registry, gift table, bridal portrait, cake table, photo booth & props. Everything was perfect! The DJ was center stage, with the couple's Logo on the dance floor.
Now for the Food! I will tell you we heard raves all night about the food. Greg's chef and his staff out did themselves. They prepared our rehearsal dinner, food for cocktail hour, reception dinner & everything was perfection. The wait staff was so attentive to everyone, including preparing special meals for the kiddies, vegetarians, & those with certain allergies. There is nothing they cannot handle.
On wedding day, Greg made sure the Bridal Party-20 of them- were not forgotten. He prepared food, of our choice, & delivered it to the dressing areas, for the guys downstairs & the ladies on the main floor. This included Mimosas! Immediately after the ceremony, he had food & drinks ready to grab as they boarded a trolley for outside photos. This special service kept them fed & hydrated, in what otherwise would have been a 12 hour day without a break.
As the Bride & Groom prepared to leave at 11 pm, in a white horse and carriage, Kaitlyn (Greg's event coordinator) knew Monica & Joey had never had dinner. She ran to the carriage, with dinner for two & placed it on the seat for them to have later. This meant SO much to them and they enjoyed the wonderful reception meal together.
Greg handles emergencies with grace. As the mother of the bride, I arrived late, with the photographer waiting on the wedding gown. In a rush to get inside, I ran to the trunk & found I had locked the car with the wedding dress inside! I walked into Greg's office frantic, knowing my daughter would be beyond upset. Greg calmly said, "It's ok. We'll get it. Don't tell her." He got on the computer, had AAA on the phone, explained the emergency, gave directions, & had me go have my makeup done as if all was well.. Long story short, Greg met AAA, got the dress out & the bride never knew until hours later. Service WAY beyond what is expected. Greg is GREAT !!
The Millennium Center is a breath-taking venue and the structure itself needs minimal decor for an event to look beautiful. My celebration of vows was July 15, 2016. The night of my event was flawless and I did not have to do anything besides eat, drink, dance, and have fun. Greg, Kaitlyn and the staff at MC stayed out of my hair but did everything they needed to do to make sure the evening flowed smoothly. The only reason I put 4 instead of 5 stars is the unorganized feeling leading up to the event itself, even the morning of. I realize that the MC staff work on a flexible schedule but sometimes it was very difficult to communicate back and forth. The day of was a little hectic (which was to be expected) but many of the staff did not start doing their part of setting up until right before the cocktail hour started and that had me slightly on edge. I did receive phenomenal feed back on the food and it truly was so amazing and not your typical wedding food. It's been over a month and people are still talking about the food and the ballroom where we held the event. With this venue you get quality service and the freedom to make the event exactly what you want it to be. I highly recommend this space for your event.
We had our wedding at the Millennium Center over Memorial Weekend and it could not have been better. It is such a beautiful venue in the heart of downtown Winston Salem which was great for our out of town guests.
We worked with Greg leading up to the wedding day and he always made himself available to us and every time we met with him he gave us a walk through of what our wedding would be like from start to finish. He really painted a picture and has an eye for detail.
One huge benefit of The Millennium Center is that they can do pretty much everything in house. Greg and his team staged the wedding and flipped the ballroom into the reception immediately afterwards. They provided all the tables, chairs, linens, candles & holders, everything! They offer a variety of options for all decor which really allows you to have the look you are going for.
We had them provide our dinner and one common theme after the wedding is everyone raved about how good the food was. Everyone agreed that the food was the best they had ever had at a wedding. We had their appetizers during our cocktail hour which consisted of bruschetta made with local tomatoes, and crab cakes. For dinner we had a fresh salad followed by chicken and been tenderloin with fresh vegetables. All local ingredients.
We did a family style dinner which was a first for them but they made it perfect. Greg himself presented the dishes to every table personally and made sure everyone was aware of what was in front of them, this was a very nice personal touch. Every member of the staff was incredibly accommodating and made sure that all of our guest had what they needed and had a great time.
Greg truly made us feel that our wedding was the most important event of the year for them and they perfectly executed every part of the day. Greg even joined us on the dance floor and enjoyed the party with us, which was AWESOME!
I cannot begin to express how perfect everything was and how wonderful our entire experience was working with Greg and his team. If you can book your wedding at The Millennium Center you definitely should, you will not be disappointed.
You can't go wrong with the Millennium Center! We held our November 21st, 2015 wedding reception here and it was absolutely FANTASTIC! Greg Carlyle and his team were phenomenal and absolutely an integral part to pulling off such a special evening. Literally, my every wish/request was granted! Through all of the planning and decor & vendor selections, Greg was there to assist with suggestions and referrals and never once steered me wrong. And then to the actual day of, from getting ready in the bridal suite to tearing up the dance floor in to the night, we could not have asked for a more perfect celebration. The building itself is so special and really just a sight to behold and then on top of that, the support staff really has the wedding thing down to a science. One item that was really important to me was that the food be mind-blowing, and Chef Pat and Artisan really delivered - people are still talking about the MASSIVE charcuterie display. Also, I remember at first being a bit wary about not hiring a day of coordinator, but just as Greg reassured me, we stayed completely on schedule and the event flowed flawlessly. Our reception was simply perfection, and I am just SO thankful for the Millennium Center and team for all that they did to pull it off. This place is the epitome of elegance and like I stated in the beginning of this review, you can't go wrong with the Millennium Center!!
My husband and I actually live in Greensboro, NC. We found that there was NO venue that had as much personality that the Millennium Center without having to literally rebuild it from the ground up. From beginning to end, Greg and his entire staff were extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful with our process of planning THE best wedding reception ever :) People still talk about how nice Greg was, how great the food was, and how amazing the venue looked til this day. If I could do it ALL over again, I certainly would. I recommend the shrimp and grits in the martini glass as an appetizer, it was a HIT!
Though my wife and daughter did most of the wedding/reception planning, our family could not have been happier with the quality and care to detail we received at the Millennium Center. Greg Carlyle, the host at the Millennium Center was such a joy and expert; he made the planning fun and relaxed. The venue was gorgeous, well staffed, and the food was the best! Guests were so happy and impressed, many gushing with compliments. The entire wedding, cocktail hour, and reception was at the M. Center and made it very easy for our guests to relax and enjoy. We'd love to plan another event here, because it was so fantastic! This venue is very unique and we strongly recommend. Thanks Greg and M. Ctr. staff.
My experience with Greg and the staff at the Millennium Center was nothing short of amazing! I knew the first time I visited that was the place I wanted to have my Wedding Reception. From the very beginning, Greg made my husband and I feel at ease and that we were truly important. With Greg and his staff in charge, I did not worry about anything. From planning the menu to the table arrangements, Greg made sure my every wish was carried out. We truly had the reception of my dreams- it was better than I could have ever imagined. The venue itself is stunningly beautiful- the space speaks for itself. We did not have to add a lot of decorations due to the natural beauty of the ballroom. The Millennium Center is absolutely spectacular- from the amazing staff, delicious food and overall environment, our reception was breathtaking. I highly recommend The Millennium Center!
The Millennium Center exceeded our family's expectation repeatedly on many wonderful levels throughout the wedding planning season. Greg Carlyle, proprietor, and CEO gives such kind, attention to detail advice and guidance--I just don't know how we would have gone through the year without him. He and the M. Center made the process fun, exciting, and unique. He helped us avoid pitfalls with good with great advice from one who has years of experience in entertainment. Our guests were blown away with the organization; so were we!!
The food served, which was first an hour cocktail party prior to a sit down dinner was delectable and so complimented by our guests. Honestly, it was the best I've eve had at a wedding reception: the reason is, it is made on site and served straight from stove to /oven to the table, piping hot and delicious.
The Millennium Center is over 100 years old and the ambiance is over the top and is huge. Our daughter got married upstairs in the "Court Room"--but there are many areas and knooks and crannys that make entertainment fascinating. Photos from the roof top of the couple and WS skyline were divine! Our guests loved not having to drive from ceremony to a reception place, made it easy to go from ceremony to lobby for cocktail area and then to ballroom for sit down dinner/dancing and music. Thank you Greg and staff, you all are the best!!
Thank you Grey, staff, and M. Ctr.,
Lorraine
I cannot say enough about the complete perfection that the Millennium Center is. Greg and his entire staff went above and beyond not only on my wedding day but throughout the process of visiting (which we did multiple time) taking tours of the entire venue, menu tastings, etc. I NEVER felt like I was just another bride. Every person on his staff called me by name and remembered who I was each time I came. Greg was always available to meet in person or discuss details over the phone or email.
The building itself has beautiful details that made for the perfect place for our wedding. We were able to make the ballroom "our own" with lighting details, and decor that fit our style. You can do so much (or even do so little) and the Millennium Center will be the place that makes your dream wedding into a reality.
The food at the Millennium Center is beyond reproach. We have served/butlered cocktail hour appetizers, which elevated the feel/vibe of that hour. For dinner, we served a salad and shrimp and grits, then had a buffet for the main course. I cannot say enough how delicious this food was. Greg also kept our drinks and plates full throughout the night so that my groom and I were able to mingle and visit.
Greg and his staff took the "worry" out of everything. My husband and I were beyond blessed to have Greg and all the staff at the Millennium Center taking care of our wedding and reception.
I have to begin this review with many, many, thanks to Greg. Greg & his wife, Edy, are amazing people! We had our ceremony in the courtroom upstairs, the cocktail hour in the Maya Angelou bar & the reception in the grand ballroom. The beauty of the building really takes your breath away. The day we toured, the ballroom was set up for a wedding reception & my at the time fiance, and my mother knew from the look on my face that there was no need to go anywhere else. I absolutely loved every moment of the planning. Greg is willing to do whatever you need! There was a particular cake table we wanted that he was willing to create for us. The FOOD is AMAZING. He has several vendors that he is used to working with & it made me feel so comfortable knowing these were tried & true professionals (our DJ was fab, thanks to Greg!). We had such a wonderful time. Everything was wonderful, even down to the morning of our event when I received a pep-talk for Greg when there was a slight bridal party drama going on. One of my favorite moments was showing my dad the ballroom for the first time as it was being set up & him & Greg shared a moment where they both teared up.
For all the complements we received, we really had to give credit to the Millennium Center. They do it ALL. Set up, clean up, chairs, tables, linens! They will even do your centerpieces if requested. We had an open bar, prime rib, chicken, eggplant rollatini, assorted artisan rolls, fresh salad with locally sourced ingredients like Strawberries... It was amazing. We hardly had to lift a finger with any of our wedding planning!
*The Millennium center is also very willing to work with you to help keep costs down- for example we substituted their typical steak choice for Prime Rib which happened to be my husband & my fathers favorite cut of meat anyway!
Words could never do justice to the amazing job Greg and the amazing staff at the Millennium Center did to make our wedding all that we had ever dreamed it would be. The Millennium Center is the only wedding venue I visited/priced. I just knew when I walked in the door that I didn’t need to look any further. From beginning to end, Greg was always available, quick to respond to emails or calls, personable, always willing to give suggestions and the pricing was more than fair. There aren’t many wedding venues where everything is included in the price. We were very thankful for this, as I cannot imagine how stressful my planning would have been if I would have had to worry about renting/bringing linens and seat covers and center pieces, etc. The fact that the Millennium Center was a one stop shop simply saved my sanity during the whole process! In addition, Greg was so helpful - from day one the pricing was laid out, with different options on food, beverages, rooms to hold different events, etc. He was very upfront on what the costs were, what he could do to help keep costs down, and most importantly, he was very honest on what he thought was worth spending money on and what just hadn't worked in the past. He was more than accommodating on several occasions when we wanted to stop by on a whim (we were planning from out of town). You could just really tell that he cares about the people that walk in his office and making their events wonderful. He puts 100% into everything he does. From the food tasting in his restaurant, where he and his wife served us like they were waiters and gave in depth descriptions of each and every appetizer, entree and side they served, to making sure we were all fully stocked with champagne and beer and soft drinks on the day of the wedding, every last detail was covered without me having to double check him or worry that he'd forget something. That is truly amazing and was such a relief. His staff on the day of the wedding gave top notch service that you'd expect at a 5 star restaurant/hotel. We actually had a waiter follow us outside while we were taking pictures to make sure that we weren't being left out of the cocktail hour. The food was absolutely amazing. It was served on time, was fresh and all of our guests raved about it. We also had several attendees with food allergies and they were taken care of with no problems. I have had several friends comment that the Millennium Centers Shrimp and Grits are the best they've ever eaten. I have to agree! Greg and his staff also designed all of our flowers and did a great job of listening to and creating exactly what I wanted. He is talented at so many things! I just cannot and do not want to imagine what my wedding day would have been like had it been held somewhere else. I full heartedly believe that no one holding a wedding and/or wedding reception at The Millennium Center would ever be disappointed or regretful. Thank you Greg and your staff for such an amazing day! We could not have asked for anything more and will recommend you to everyone we know that is looking for a venue in the W-S area!!
Greg Carlyle at Millennium Center was the best choice we made for our September 26 wedding. The service was impeccable. Food beyond delicious. Guidance and input valuable. And never a worry about how they would perform. Total confidence in their commitment to excellence.
All in all, this venue is great, but the owner of this venue never once wrote anything down and got a lot of our details wrong. We requested a white stage for our ceremony and when we showed up on our wedding day we had to have our ceremony on a black carpet, which was very disappointing because our colors were very light and it will be seen in all of our pictures. It took him weeks to respond to emails at times and didn't have an assistant or second contact that we could reach out to. He misquoted us several times and tried to add $1,500 to our signed agreement 3 weeks before our wedding date. He's a very nice guy and ended up working most details out in the end, but he just needs some extra help because brides need someone who is responsive. I was stressed up until the minute I walked down the aisle. The venue itself is very nice and the food was great, but there was a lot of stress involved in planning our wedding day. We brought our parents to a "planning meeting" a few months before the wedding and he was 30 minutes late and then just ended up giving us a tour of the venue for the third time instead of deciding on any details. On the day of our wedding his staff was wonderful, but that was the only time I worked with or met any of them. If you do choose this venue, I highly recommend using a wedding planner to deal with the details and to make sure EVERYTHING gets written down.
Our daughter's wedding reception in the Speakeasy was excellent thanks to Greg Carlyle, Lady Carlyle, Frasier, and all of the support staff at The Millennium Center. The venue was such fun to coordinate our party around. They have so many of the amenities that a great wedding needs; super food, great drinks, beautiful table linens and decorations, a fun and attractive decor.... We had a terrific event and enjoyed working with the MC very much. They made a very stressful occasion - a complete pleasure. We are very, very grateful.
I was married less than a week ago and couldn't wait to return to write these guys a review. Perfection is an understatement - Greg, Jon, and all of the team were THE most amazing people to work with. Greg answered every question very quickly and Jon worked with us personally to make sure the set up was everything I envisioned. Myself, my groom, and my parents felt so pampered through the entire process. People are continually telling me how great the food was, and how great the service was. The food was amazing and Greg easily worked with our budget to give me what I wanted in a classy buffet style. The service was on par for a 4-star restaurant. Myself and the groom had our plates served to us, champagne bottle service at our table, and continuous servers asking us if we needed anything. Unlike most people I actually ate at my wedding! I can't say enough about these guys and would recommend them ten times over. Worth every single penny!
We had our wedding at the Millennium Center in August of 2014 and it was the best venue we could have chosen! It was beautiful, classic, elegant and perfectly situated in the heart of downtown Winston-Salem where we call home. The hassle-free planning process moves at your own speed and you can customize your event to fit easily into your budget. The Millennium Center is perfect for any size event (ours was 250 people), and your guests will talk about the venue for weeks following your wedding. The staff was accommodating the day and night of our wedding and the staff did their part to make sure that we remained hydrated throughout the night and that we actually had a chance to eat our dinner. You'll not regret getting married at OR having your reception at the Millennium Center. Greg and his team are attentive, personable and they do the leg work so you can relax and enjoy the party.
Everything about the Millennium Center was amazing! They provide everything from the food, tables, chairs, sound system, waiters, etc. making planning a reception pretty easy. The owner, Greg, is a really amazing man and will work with you to make your day perfect. The staff are also all very kind and helpful, and put up with me rearranging the front area about 3 times before I found a configuration I liked. The food was also incredible, and the wait staff were courteous and efficient. Everyone complimented us on the amazing meal. At the beginning of our reception, the sound system messed up a little and one of the staff members immediately came to fix it, and I appreciated his swiftness in identifying and fixing the problem. I would recommend the Millennium Center 100%-- it was a great experience and a wonderful reception!
Everything was better than I could have ever imagined! Greg and his staff treated us like their own family and did their best to quickly accommodate every request, no matter how strange and indecisive, it might have been. The entire planning process was easy and stress free!
